Ms Johnson takes us on a wild ride from the streets of New York City to the remote Cotswolds of England in this cozy modern romantic tale A Very Irish Christmas. Cassie has the opportunity to return to the area where her Grandma came from, nearly 75 years earlier, and she learns so much about herself and her extended family along the way.

Cassie has difficult choices to make - not just where to stay while in England, but how long, as things in her life begin to change and she finally starts to re-discover who she is and can become.

The romance level is quite warm, but not explicit (thank you!). I really liked how the emphasis was on relationships - all kinds - and building depth to those relationships, not just tension.

I received an ARC; this is my honest review.

Are we doing Christmas novels yet? I guess we are.

"A Very Irish Christmas" by Debbie Johnson is a fun holiday read. It follows burned-out, long-ago-jilted-at-the=altar New Yorker Cassie as she ventures into the English countryside to enjoy a month-long stay in a quaint cottage. Along with the cottage not being as shown on internet, she stumbles into a love triangle with two very different but equally appealing men. On one hand, there’s Charles, the chivalrous English aristocrat with impeccable manners and a life that he's barely holding together. On the other, there’s Ryan, the Irish handyman whose flirty jokes mask a troubled past. The three of them, and the whole village full of zany characters, have to band together to revive their local economy. Not to give too many spoilers away, but I didn't agree with the love interest Cassie chooses--especially since the whole book seemed to be build Even so, Johnson’s festive romance remains a sweet, feel-good read, perfect for fans of holiday rom-coms.

A charming festive holiday love triangle that sees a recently single American woman travelling to Ireland over Christmas thanks to an inheritance from her grandmother. While there she gets caught up in the conflict between a single father member of the aristocracy and a sad blue collar widower who isn't ready to risk his heart on love again.

I really loved the setting and atmosphere of this kissing only love story and despite mixed reviews enjoyed it a lot, especially on audio. Perfect for fans of Hallmark holiday movies and authors like Catherine Walsh. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

My sincere thanks to Storm Publishing and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read A Very Irish Christmas by Debbie Johnson. I give my unbiased opinion of it in the following review.

After Cassie gets jilted at the altar, she has a hard time letting go. When her ex gets married, her family and friend encourage her to use the money she inherited from her beloved grandmother and take a trip to explore her Irish heritage. She impulsively books a cottage in a place nicknamed Little Ireland which is actually in England. After a bumpy start, she finds herself staying at the Bancroft Estate mansion with the handsome Charles Bancroft and family while the equally handsome handyman Ryan fixes up the cottage she was supposed to be staying at. Hmm, two handsome guys with potential? Can Cassie believe that they would actually be interested in her?

This book is definitely a candidate for a Hallmark movie. The Irish heritage and old-world setting, two attractive men with heartbreaking pasts, friendly and quirky townspeople, a crisis that needs solving, beautiful snow-covered countryside, and an affectionate dog. It has it all. The characters are all easy to like and I wasn't sure who I wanted Cassie to end up with even though I had an idea who it would be. I highly recommend this book for a sweet pre-Christmas read.

I’m here for a great Christmas novel! It felt relatable since the main character was close to my age and I have traveled to both London and Ireland. While I wouldn’t be able to purchase for my library, I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

Cassie must get her life going in the right direction. She has had a tough time after getting jilted at the altar. She knows it’s time to change things, so she heads abroad to do just that. She finds an adorable cottage to rent for a month and then she sees it is not what was expecting. Instead, it needs some attention. Along with finding this she finds Ryan and Charles.
Cassie can see her life changing. She likes the village life is what she needs. She is happy and I could feel the joy she does as I was reading.
I liked the characters , the location and the direction the author took all the characters in while I was reading.
Thank you NetGalley, Debbie Johnson and Storm Publishing for the copy of A Very Irish Christmas. This is my personal review.

I enjoyed this festive tale that follows Cassie as she takes a second chance at life when she is at her emotional lowest point. First, she goes to England, where the ideal cottage she rents differs from what is expected. It does present her with an opportunity to meet two lovely men, one English and one Irish, who make her life fun and rewarding. She gets to explore Irish roots, help her new friends with her event planning talents and heal from her crippling emotional pain. It is a warm and heartwarming story with believable characters who you invest in, friendship, romance and community spirit. It is an easy but addictive read that brightens your day.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

This is a touching story about a woman who is still grieving being left at the alter 3 years before. She had been a very successful event planner, but her inability to get on with her life had her planning only children's parties. Her girlfriend pushes her into a trip to revisit her beloved grandmother's roots, using her inheritance to spend a month in England and Ireland.

She finds a delightful cottage to rent for a month. However, when she gets there, she is dismayed to find that she has rented a musty, dirty and freezing structure. Her contact is the handyman, a gorgeous Irishman, named Ryan and the owner of the cottage is a very attractive "lord of the manor," Charles. She spends the night in the manor house and is invited to stay there until the cottage undergoes several days of cleaning and refurbishment.

The manor house is mainly closed off to save money, but when Cassie gets a tour, she discovers a marvelous venue for all sorts of activities - weddings, retreats, seminars, etc. Charles's mother and daughter live there, along with some help. Charles has been meeting with investors, but he didn't make an impressive pitch. With Cassie's help, and a lot of help from the townspeople, the manor house is transformed.

This is a wonderful story about Cassie falling in love with her roots, and developing feelings for both of the men who live there. Perfect story for the holiday season, or at any time of the year.

This was a wonderful Christmas story, staring a great cast of characters and a community pulling together. A trip to Ireland to find lost relatives and a lovely conclusion to round it all off.

This was a fun and feel-good Christmas story! After being left at the altar, Cassie finds herself in a bit of a slump. She decides to use the money her Nana Nora left her to spend a month in the English countryside in hopes of finding herself again. She finds a whole cast of characters and two very charming men. I loved the characters and setting of this story. It made me wish I could stay in Whimsy Cottage and meet all of the townspeople. I loved that Cassie found herself again. I read a combination of the Kindle and audiobook version. I loved the accents in the audiobook version. It added so much to the experience.

I highly recommend adding this to your Holiday TBR!

Really enjoyed this book! Nice story, good escapism, and good setting.
I felt that I was in the manor, in Ireland, and I could almost smell the bakery.
A great Christmas read, easy to read & heartwarming.
I wasn't sure how it would end...almost gave me Bridget Jones vibes, but I did like the ending and I had a happy tear.

A Very Irish Christmas is an easy to read, cute, romantic story about a girl who leaves New York City to find herself. She finds her mojo again but not only that, she finds love and is reminded that people should always have second chances in life. The story is full of beautiful descriptions of people, places, sceneries, feelings, moods that it enables the reader to see all of them in their mind, as it's so well written.
I thank the author, her publisher, and NetGalley for this ARC.

A Very Irish Christmas by Debbie Johnson is a lovely, sweet story. I was surprised at what a delightful romantic triangle it was. New York-born Cassie O'Hara is stuck in her life with doubts, confidence and being willing to date after a terrible experience becoming depression and bordering on unhealthy. You have to read it to believe it. Going to England in to stay a very Irish community over the holidays is a step forward for her.

Everything that happens to her there serves to empower her. It is here that there is a blooming of this character, not to who she had been three years ago but to being so much more. An eccentric host of characters and a picturesque setting, I found it an absorbing read. Perhaps you will easily decide who Cassie will fall in love with but both men won my heart, so not an easy decision. Funny, serious, and everything in between. The epilogue was the perfect conclusion.

Warm hearted, cosy festive romcom as the reader takes a journey with Cassie O’Hara who, may ultimately, find the perfect magical Christmastime. A frothy plot is populated with an array of well drawn, eclectic characters, engaging backdrops and laced with a gentle humour. Enjoyable festive escapism.

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC publication for an honest review.

Our heroine, Cassie, was jilted at the altar...which has led her on a downward spiral in confidence and simply not living life to the fullest. Her best friend, June, convinces Cassie to skip the holiday drama with her mom and sister by using money left to her by her beloved Nana Nora to have an adventure! I really enjoyed the English countryside with an Irish flare setting (book me a flight!) This is a book about rediscovering yourself and taking chances. It also has romance with a love triangle which I usually am not a fan. However, both men were worthy contenders, and I would have been okay with either one being the "winner." There is a nice sense of community and support and a lovely happily ever after...

3.5 stars
