I love this series and it was so fun to go back and see them form together as a team to Conquer this evil entity set to destroy her. For me the second book did seem to drag a bit more than the first, but it was still so enjoyable

The Mirror is the second book in The Lost Bride Trilogy and I recommend you read or listen to Inheritance first. Sonya MacTavish inherited a huge Victorian mansion on the coast of Maine in Poole's Head, from a family that she had no idea she was a part of. When she moves into the house she is in for a big surprise, it is haunted. She hears footsteps, doors slamming, music playing and more. When she sleeps, she dreams about things that happened in the past. There is an antique mirror that she is drawn to, and as this book begins Sonya is about to enter into the mirror. She is sure that she will find out more about the family's past and the curse. The curse was put on the family by Hester Dobbs, the one ghost that is not welcome and is malevolent. When she enters the past through the mirror, she sees a bride murdered on her wedding day and her ring torn from her finger by Hester Dobbs. Sonya must stop this from happening over and over if she wants to break the curst, the curse that if she can't be the lady of the manor than all brides will die on their wedding day and none of them will either. Can Sonya figure our how to use the mirror to break the curse? Can BFF, Cleo along with her cousin Owen and lawyer Trey help her find the answer?

The Mirror is classic Nora Roberts from the past. There is paranormal aspects to this story, evil that must be defeated, friendship to help, a bit of romance and some humor all rolled into a great story. Cleo has moved in with Sonya to help her solve the mystery and try to recover the rings. I like that she has a bit of creole magic and her family has a past that can be helpful. Trey is the family lawyer, but he and Sonya are slowly becoming a couple and he will do whatever he has to do to help her out. Owen, her cousin, in developing a relationship with Cleo, and they make quite a team. I really enjoyed the nice spirits, the ones that help clean up and play music. They make me smile and laugh, but it doesn't seem that they can help defeat Hester. She is nasty with slamming doors, locking people in rooms, storms inside the house, screams and more. She doesn't want to let Sonya win. These scenes are a bit frightening, and I was scared for Sonya and her friends. The writing is wonderfully descriptive, giving the reader the feel that they are there. She also adds normal life activities and balances the two well. Although this is a long book, and some readers think that it could have been shorter, I felt everything added to the story and that it moved quickly. My only issue with this book is that it has a cliffhanger and I'm not sure how long we will have to wait for the next story. The audiobook was narrated by Brittany Presley, one of my favourite narrators. She does a wonderful job giving the characters individual voice, even the ghosts. If you enjoy an audiobook, then I do recommend you listen to this one, but I recommend it in whatever format you prefer.

This is the second book in the Lost Bride trilogy - and I'm here for it. I love this story so much, the characters are funny and occasionally make me laugh out loud. The story continues, as Sonya and Cleo are staking their claim at the Lost Bride Manor. The house is haunted by a variety of ghosts, mostly helpful, or supportive. However, there is one ghost, the ghost of a witch who has cursed the new brides of the manor. The ghost can be violent and Cleo and Sonya are standing strong against her, along with Trey, Sonya's boyfriend, and Owen, Sonya's cousin.

I am invested in the series, and I know some folks are frustrated with the lack of answers this far in. I appreciate the storyline and I am patiently waiting for the final book, which will provide all the answers we need.

I'm not sure my review will be helpful to many, because I did not finish listening to the audiobook.

Let me explain. The Mirror felt like a mirror to Inheritance. Maybe I didn't get far enough in. Maybe I didn't give it a fighting chance. But the first 30-50% was filled with taking dogs out, warm cozy ghosts, and exactly one creepy scene. When I think of a paranormal romance series, there's a certain amount of the heebeejeebees I want to have. The Mirror does not offer that. Perhaps if you're after a Disney Channel version of a paranormal romance, give this a shot.

On the other hand, the audiobook quality and writing were fantastic.

A mirror that would transform her life and set the end of the brides that tragically were taken will keep you endlessly anticipating what will happen next. The next story in the series will leave you anticipating what will happen next. NRA Roberts is an absolute legend and waiting until the series is complete cannot come soon enough.

The Mirror is an excellent supernatural women’s fiction and romance that takes over smoothly where Book 1 left off.

This is a great read for those looking for something light and sweet, while also exploring the world of supernatural, and getting some spice in the romantic storyline. A perfect combination of genres and reading expectations.

I listened to the audiobook version of this story, which was well done by a single narrator who also narrated the first book in this trilogy. I listened at 1.75x speed, with this speed being my normal audiobook listening speed.

Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for this advanced listening copy.

The Mirror is the second installment of the Lost Bride Trilogy and a great continuation of the story. Nora Roberts can bring to life a setting like no other. I loved the romance and the turns the story took. I cannot wait to read the final installment! Brittany Pressley and Nora Roberts are the dream team.

ALC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Loving this series so much. I love the dynamic between the four main characters and all of their banter. It really feels like you are there, apart of the conversation. I do wish there was a little for suspense/thrill. It’s a very chill haunted house story. That being said very much enjoy the writing and the atmosphere it creates. can’t wait for the final book!

Having thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the lost bride trilogy, I immediately started this novel continuing the storyline. It picked right up where the first novel left off, and I easily fell right back into the lives of the characters in the big mansion I loved and remembered. Once again, I didn’t want the story to end and have to leave the mansion! I have grown to really like these humans and most of the other occupants of the house!
I was so fortunate in getting an advanced copy from @NetGalley of this second book in the Lost Bride Trilogy. Thank you @MacmillianAudio and @NoraRoberts! I am anxiously awaiting the third book in November 2025.

3.5 stars - The second book is just as cozy! It is still focused on the small rituals of day to day life, and the talent of our main characters. While I enjoy the low stakes, I wish we learned a tad more about the mystery behind the lost brides.
The audio book narrator is amazing, I love listening to her voice.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC against an honest review.

The Mirror picks up right where Inheritance left off, so you have to read them in order! Also, note this is book 2 of a trilogy, so the ending is open.

Despite the evil witch, this series has a cozy vibe that I was totally digging. The story of the brides develops more and the romance between Sonya and Oliver continues to build (slowly). So, you learn more about the curse and the history of the family, and Sonya begins to make a plan to rid the house of the curse and the evil spirit.

I listened to this one (I only read the first one), and the audio is perfect!! Brittney Pressley is wonderful and really brings the story to life. Again, I think we are heading to 5 stars, but I'm withholding until I see how it all wraps up!

Not as good as the first book but it was still a great book. Sonya discovers more of the lost brides and learns more about the witch that cursed the mansion. She make the house more like a home and Heater is not liking what she is doing.

I was gifted this ebook and audiobook by NetGalley.

This seems to be a “filler” or “bridge” book. Not a lot happens, but it gets you to the next point.

I felt like the dialogue was a little chaotic, bouncing back and forth between the topic and random conversation within the same scene.

I feel like the book was too long considering how much was actually happening. A lot of filler that I felt was unnecessary and uninteresting.

Unfortunately, it was a DNF for me.

One positive, the audiobook narration was really well done.

I received a complimentary copy of this book "The Mirror" and all opinions expressed are my own. I listened to the audiobook. I waited to listen to this book, because of the trilogy, I prefer them all together. This was a really good book. I do like a book with paranormal, ghosts, all that. I listened to this one right after the first one. I can't wait for the third book!!

Really enjoyed this audiobook. I like that the narrator uses slightly different accents for each character. Love the continuation of the story from the first book, too. I am invested 100%

This book felt very monotonous. Same things happening over and over. I am forward to book 3 wrapping this up. I still love the characters but I needed to see something different happen in this book

The Mirror, Book 2 in The Lost Bride Trilogy picks right up where book 1, The Inheritance, left off. The protagonist, Sonya, continues building her new life with best friend Cleo, boyfriend Trey, and, you know it’s coming… Cleo’s boyfriend Owen. Together, they are solving the mystery of The Lost Brides with the help, and hindrance, of the mansion’s ghosts.

I love how Roberts built the ghost characters into the story. I’m just as intrigued by their pasts and their role in the present-day story as I am the main characters.
As I was lucky enough to obtain a copy of the audiobook, I must mention how, for me, the reader of any audiobook is just as important as how the book flows. Brittany Pressley is a great reader who provides impeccable characterization through her voices. Even the fact that one of the voices annoys me shows her skill. (Not all voices are pleasant to our ears, right?)
I thoroughly enjoyed The Inheritance and do encourage readers to read it before launching into The Mirror to get all of the details, but The Mirror can be read as a stand-alone.
Thank you to NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for an advanced copy of this audiobook.

As soon as I got my hands on the ebook version I grabbed up the audio of the first one from the library to "re-listen" to it (it was the third time through and just as good) and then immediately started on The Mirror. It picks up right where The Inheritance leaves off so make sure you read that one first. Sonya has inherited a mansion in Maine from her father's brother (who their family didn't know of) and it just so happens to be haunted. Cleo, her bestie, has now moved in and together they are making it home. Trey, greeted her on arrival and they have only grown closer along with the rest of his family and it happens his best friend is her cousin, Owen. When Sonya decides to go through the mirror when they find it, Owen goes with her. Visions, ghosts, and visions and maybe some secrets that need to come out to break the curse on the mansion.

I cannot wait for the conclusion to this trilogy!

When I received the audio version I immediately listened to that and, WOW, I could not put it down. It was just a riveting as if I hadn't read the book in the recent few weeks.

Thank you NetGalley for an audio ARC of the second book in The Lost Bride Trilogy. You get to better understand what happened to the brides and the antagonist Hester Dobbs. Cohabitating with paranormal's seem to be key to the theme. The series reads more like a happily ever after with blooming love affairs. Can't wait to see if Hester gets what coming to her.
