This book had a cute cover and the synopsis sounded interesting to me. I was happy to have received an eARC and devoured it in two days.

This story is about Jade, a British girl who gets a job as a bookstore manager on Nantucket for the summer. She’s has always felt like she was never good enough for her family or her previous relationships.

She’s meets a brooding billionaire, Liam who is out to prove that he isn’t a failure after being abandoned by his mom and tormented at boarding school.

These two meet and develop a relationship, but are afraid to go all in because of what has always happened to them in the past. Are they able to get over their past and let love win?

I most definitely shed some tears reading this book. I’d give it an easy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! It was a quick read, held my attention and left me wanting more!

Love Kathryn’s books so was happy to receive this one for a review. I love that it is set in Nantucket, great views and beaches. Jade is over there from England for 3 months to work in the quaint book shop, she loves books and she would like to get into publishing. Liam owns one of the big resorts on the island and is having to manage it at the moment as his manager has moved away. Jade has a few days before she starts her job and her and Liam bump into each other. They are immediately attracted to each other and end up spending time together. Liam takes Jade onto his yacht and one things leads to another. Liam can’t control himself around Jade and he can’t get enough of her. Things take a turn when Liam finds out he is going to be Jades boss. He has been trying to buy the book shop and wharf for some time and eventually gets it. He wants to knock it down and build cottages for tourists. Jade is not happy that Liam didn’t tell her he was going to be her boss and then his plans. Liam keeps his emotions well hidden,he has been hurt a few times and his Mum left him when he was young so he was brought up by his Grandma who is his world. Liam went to boarding school and hated it,he was bullied because he didn’t come from money so he was determined to do well for himself.Jade, too, has been hurt by 2 previous boyfriends who didn’t treat her well. Jeremy works for Liam but doesn’t put up with his broodiness and can see he is falling for Jade. Jade wants to show Liam he should keep the bookshop and they get a group together. Despite trying to keep away from each other,Liam and Jade are drawn together and spend a lot of time together. You must read the book to see where things take them, they navigate so many ups and downs but I just wanted them to find there happy ever after. You won’t be disappointed.

I wasn’t feeling it. The premise of the book sounded interesting but execution was lacking and plot turns were certainly a choice. Overall, too little substance and too much insta lust without any real character chemistry.

A brilliant romance in the most magical
Of settings, Kathryn Freeman is one of my favorite authors and this didn’t disappoint. I’ve never been to Nantucket but the evocative descriptions left me yearning to go. The characters themselves are fabulous and well rounded, Jade in particular is a ray of sunshine but not without her issues. Her taming of Liam and their romantic and at times stormy relationship keep the pages turning to the last. With a colorful cast of background characters this book is everything an escapist romance should be. Perfect for fans of Sarah Morgan, Emily Henry and Carley Fortune.

Thank you so much for the early read! I adored this book, the setting and especially Liam and Jade. Loved how it centers around her love of books and trying to cut through his tough exterior. Great read!!

This was an insta lust very spicy read. I really liked the premise of this book, I love stories set in bookshops. Jade and Liam had a lot of chemistry and I felt they fell into bed a bit too fast for me.

Their backstories were touching and well thought out. Seeing the heartache Liam had growing up and the feelings or inadequacy from Jade made them so much more relatable. The plot was a bit predictable for me, but the sense of community and friendship was nice to see unfolding.

This was an uncomplicated read, ideal for summer beach reading.

This book had me laughing and giggling through most of the story. The main character is so quirky, and her little reactions to things were so genuine and cute. I would definitely recommend picking up this book.

What a sweet story! The description and setting on the coast were so immersive and felt nostalgic to summers on the water. I loved the plot and the character development between the love interests. The protagonist was relatable and her personality was fun. Would recommend!

I was not a huge fan of this book. It was too spicy for my taste and it felt to insta lust for my taste and it felt like they did not have real love.

This year, Booked for Summer will be a charming beach read. It was simple to read, and I adored Jade, the protagonist. Naturally, I'm fantasizing about visiting Nantucket because I adored the descriptions. the novel was enjoyable enough!

I was excited for this book after reading the description, but I very quickly realized that it wasn’t for me. I was immediately annoyed by the narration style and by Jade especially as a FMC. There was spice and lust from the very beginning which was a bit much in my opinion. I really couldn’t get into it and after reading for a while, I wasn’t interested in reading any more.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the eARC.

When Jade leaves the UK to manage a bookstore in Nantucket, she's hoping to prove to herself and her family that she can succeed in business. When she mistakes the owner of the local resort for the ferry transport, she adds having a little fun to her list. But when her new fling buys the bookstore she's working in, sparks fly... And not in a good way.

This novel is a great beach read or a dose of escapism for readers who don't mind a little spice in their romances. If you like the enemies to lovers trope, you'll enjoy this lovers to enemies to lovers novel.

Booked for Summer by Kathryn Freeman offers a lighthearted romance set against a summer backdrop. The story follows the developing relationship between the protagonists which is set on Nantucket, providing readers with a pleasant escape. However, I felt that certain plot elements lacked depth, and the character development could have been more well thought out. One of my biggest pain points with this book is that the MMC is supposed to be American but will often slip in what I can only assume is British terms or ways of speaking which removed me from the story. While I enjoyed this book, I would say its a nice to read and not need to read.

I love Kathryn Freeman and have read other books in this series This one doesn't disappoint. It is a cute, cosy read with a perfect addition of spice. I really loved the descriptive language in the book from the Marina to the cobbled streets, it has made me want to visit Nantucket. I really loved the characters and read this in one sitting as I really wanted to see what her ending was. Such a good book and can't wait to read more.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Jade is going to manage a bookstore for the summer. Liam is a restate tycoon buying up an area who ends up accidentally becoming her boss. It was sweet and fun, although both characters tended to go back to being the worst versions of themselves easily.

I did really enjoy the side characters in this. The town was fleshed out and made it easy to fall in love with the location. Overall, it was an easy perfect summer read.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC!

“She didn’t even mind that she’d left the devilishly handsome billionaire in a state of tortured agony as he watched the woman he’d fallen for walk away from him. Daft sod hadn’t told her how he felt. Thankfully, there were still another few chapters left for him to come to his senses, but for now, Jade was more focused on her own story. Her own new chapter.”

3,5 Stars

British book lover, Jade, takes a gamble and flies to Nantucket for the summer to manage a cute bookstore on the waterfront. But upon arrival, she stumbles onto Liam's boat, mistaking it for her transfer to the island. Little does she know he's about to be her new boss. And the bookstore? Yeah he wants to tear it down ASAP in favor of more luxury housing for his resort.

What neither of the expect is their instant attraction. And the fact that they just can't stay away from each other.

That is, until Jade discovers Liam wants to smash her dream! Then she hates his guts and decides to prove it's worth it to the community to keep it around.

Little by little she starts breaking through Liam's walls but is it enough to get through to him and make him see there's more to life than just money? And maybe just maybe they can find their own happily ever after too?

I really enjoyed this! It was a fun premise right out of the gate, and while the spice hit early and often, I did find myself drawn into Jade and Liam's story. A two-night stand turns enemies turns lovers is always a trope that's fun to read. This is a perfect book for summer!

I will start by saying this is a cosy, light, summer read. Its an easy and fast paced read. I really wanted to like this book but it just didnt do it for me. The way the characters are written just didnt work for me, they were very insta cheesy and their reactions way over the top. Their physical relationship seemed to be the main plot line and I would have liked to see more of the emotions, throw in some tension. Saddened to say I did not enjoy this 😢

Booked for Summer is a fun, lighthearted summer romance that takes readers to the picturesque Nantucket. Jade, the protagonist, embarks on a new adventure by running a small bookstore for the summer, hoping to carve out something of her own. She doesn’t expect to meet Liam, a guy she feels an instant attraction to, only to find out that he plans to bulldoze her beloved bookstore.

The chemistry between Jade and Liam is there, but their relationship is a bit of a slow burn. Most of the book revolves around their push and pull, with both struggling to admit their feelings while dealing with insecurities. Liam, in particular, has a lot of emotional baggage, feeling unworthy due to his past and his place in a wealthy social circle. While I was definitely excited about the premise, I felt that the back-and-forth between the two characters lasted a little too long, and there were times when Liam's coldness was frustrating.

That said, the final 20% of the book definitely picked up, with some swoon-worthy moments and grand gestures that were totally worth the wait.

Overall, Booked for Summer is a solid choice for a summer romance—set in the beautiful Nantucket, it’s perfect for a relaxing, feel-good read. Even though the slow buildup wasn’t my favorite, the charming setting and sweet moments in the end made it a worthwhile read.

A big thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, One More Chapter for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is an enjoyable summer read, following the story of Jade Taylor, a book lover, who is thrust into managing a quaint bookstore for the summer, only to find that her boss, Liam Haven, a billionaire resort owner, plans to bulldoze the shop.

I really liked the setting of Nantucket, but disliked the instalust between the main characters. At times, it felt like there was not much relationship between them.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
