Really enjoyed this book from start to finish. Enjoyed the twists and turns along the way too. Easy read and I couldn’t put it down until I knew what had happened!

This was a good thriller. It did drag on at parts and I had to step away and come back to it several times. Overall it had some good twists and turns. I would recommend.

Morgan and Kyle Murphy set off on a weekend getaway to escape their daily routines and rekindle their marriage. Although they have a happy relationship, Kyle has been distant and preoccupied lately, which leaves Morgan worried. Determined to uncover what he’s hiding, Morgan teams up with her best friend, Clara, to pressure him into revealing the truth.
However, the getaway quickly spirals out of control when Morgan is attacked and nearly kidnapped, and Kyle suddenly disappears from the resort. Desperate to find him, Morgan is left questioning everyone’s motives. Could the men she and Clara hired to teach Kyle a lesson be responsible for his disappearance? Or is it linked to Kyle’s stalled development deal with a shady investor? Why did Kyle increase their life insurance just days before vanishing? And are the police truly invested in finding him?
The story unfolds through two perspectives: Morgan’s and Tara’s. Morgan is a complex character—at times unlikable and untrustworthy. Many of her decisions seem erratic, yet the writing consistently drew me back in, prompting me to pause and reassess each new twist.
Tara, on the other hand, is a local reporter whose career was defined by a major story she broke a decade ago. Determined to prove her worth as an investigative journalist, she begins digging into Morgan’s past.
This was an engaging read, offering a fresh take on the typical domestic suspense setting. Bonnie Traymore skillfully maintained the tension and sense of mistrust throughout the story. Even in the final chapters, I found myself unsure of whom to trust. I also appreciated the dynamic between Morgan and Tara—it felt like a game of cat and mouse at times, yet they still managed to support each other in unexpected ways.
If you're looking for a unique domestic thriller, I highly recommend A Little Getaway. Thank you to NetGalley, BooksGoSocial, and Bonnie Traymore for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It was face paced & easy to read. So much drama with some really good twists. I was drawn in by the cover & it didn't disappoint, Would recommend this book in my book groups.

Wow. This book started fast then got a little slow and then the last 30 percent really picked up again. I overall enjoyed this book. I like reading from Morgan’s perspective more than Tara’s though.
I wouldn’t call this spicy so don’t be thrown off by that part. If you want a quick thriller I would recommend this book. A good addition to your spooky season TBR

This thriller was gripping from the start. A spicy romantic getaway gone wrong!
I enjoyed Morgan’s character throughout this thriller, because you wasn’t too sure what to believe. Her story of events had you questioning yourself. The story also had a heavy topic which made Morgan’s back story strong and allowed us to really understand her childhood.
I really liked that there were 3 parts to this story and after each part we were left with a little more speculation. It had my attention and had me wanting me to read on more. I also like crime thrillers with POV’s from police and news reporters. It makes the story extra fun.
I would recommend if you want to read something with suspense and mystery.
Thank you NetGalley for this ARC

This was a good book, it started off with the mystery then slowly guided the reader back through the plot. It was done really well.

A Little Getaway by Bonnie Traymore is a highly recommended suspense novel.
Morgan Murphy is concerned that her husband, Kyle Murphy, may be cheating. They have always had a spicy marriage but Kyle's attention has diminished lately. Morgan's friend Carla Flores, actually follows Kyle and does get photo of a woman that he may be involved with. While Morgan tracks her husband’s movements, he increases their life insurance policies and then surprises her with a weekend getaway.
At the resort cabin, Kyle disappears and Morgan is attacked and nearly kidnapped. Could Kyle be hiding something from her and is Morgan still in danger? And will investigative reporter Tara Harker from K-PAL, who is now following the case uncover what is really going on?
This is a fast-paced thriller that is best enjoyed after you set all disbelief aside and just go with the flow. There are plenty of unrealistic situations, but the fast pace, action, brief chapters, and short length means you can breeze through the novel quickly while following the various plot twists. Everyone has something to hide, no one seems trustworthy, and it is hard to know anyone can be believed. Even though the novel is subtitled "A Spicy Suspense Thriller" any spice is talked about rather than endlessly described.
None of the characters are likeable or that well-developed, but this makes sense with the abbreviated page count. Everyone in this novel is an unreliable character. Morgan is, however, an interesting character. Tara comes the closest to having some code of ethics later in the novel, but she starts out just in it for the story.
This is an excellent choice if you are looking for a quick, fast-paced novel of suspense. Thanks to BooksGoSocial for providing me with an advance reader's copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary and expresses my honest opinion.
The review will be published on Barnes & Noble and Amazon.

Thank you, Bonnie Traymore and NetGalley for the opportunity to read A Little Getaway: A Spicy Suspense Thriller and provide my honest feedback!
A Little Getaway is a fast paced thriller that had me hooked from the start. Morgan and Kyle Murphy have a loving passionate marriage, or so we think. One day things start to cool down and Morgan begins to suspect something is off. Kyle plans a romantic getaway to spice up their marriage and everything comes crashing down when Morgan is attacked and Kyle disappears. I didn’t anticipate the twists and turns that this story took!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me an arc of A Little Getaway by Bonnie Traymore, in exchange for my honest review!
Thriller is my favorite genre, and I must say that this one wasn't for me.
The writing was average, but in a thriller, the prose isn't the most important thing, so that's not a problem.
Yet, the pace wasn't good, too.Instead of focusing on the plot, Bonnie Traymore spends more time telling us about the characters' sex lives than anything else.
The book is only 261 pages long, but I find it very hard to finish.
The suspense is flat and plot twists are predictable.
Morgan is an unlikeable FMC.
She loves herself too much, repeating that she's the best, the most beautiful, and the most clever...then she makes the less smart decisions.Bonnie Traymore wanted to give her a tragic past, and even if I sympathize with her, the Morgan in the present is too insufferable for my compassion to extend.
I rather liked Tara's points of view; they were fast-paced and focused more on the mysteries. But it wasn't enough for me.
My biggest problem with this title was relationships and sexually related. Well, I knew it was a "spicy thriller," but I didn't expect that this part would be more important than the suspense/mysteries. Every relationship in this book is characterized by the characters' sex life, as if it is the most important thing for a couple to last. It was a great idea to talk about how to maintain the flame within your couple after years. Except that love and being in relationships aren't defined by your sexual activities.
I think this novel might appeal to people who like love stories with a touch of suspense.

Unfortunately I could tell immediately that this book isn't for me. I didn't like the characters or the writing style. It's a DNF from this super picky reader.

Definitely not for those looking for romance. This was more of a fun mystery, not even thriller honestly. I liked the start and end, but I’m a bit torn about the rest.
The twists were predictable, but too many and by the end Morgan seemed not only untrustworthy, but even bipolar.
I think the only character I truly liked was Tara.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial publishing for an Arc of this book for an honest review. This book was full of lies and deception and for a while I wasn’t sure whose story to believe. I will say this book was marketed as a spicy suspense thriller and I didn’t read any spicy parts in this book. Overall this was a 3 stars it was entertaining but also predictable.

Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the eARC.
This was my first Bonnie Traymore book. I enjoyed the pacing and layers of the mystery. When Morgan Murphy suspects her husband of cheating, she hatches a plan. When her plan doesn't go as intended, it takes her on a wild and unexpected ride. I did figure out one of the twists early on but that did not hamper my interest in reading the rest of the book. It was a fun book that held my attention and I finished it in less than a day. I will definitely read more of Traymore's books.

When I started reading this book, I wasn’t sure I was going to like it as the beginning felt a bit rushed. As the story went on and Morgan’s ‘friendship’ with Tara started to develop, I realised I was wanting to read on to find out what happened to Kyle. It was an easy read, with a good twist and I liked the ending, the epilogue especially.

This is marketed as a “spicy suspense thriller.” I immediately thought of Verity. This was not at all spicy. Just suspenseful 🙃 It’s short, under 300 pages, and typically that doesn’t bother me but I do feel like there wasn’t enough character development. It could have been 50 pages longer to help me learn and care about the characters more. I typically love an unreliable narrator but this one just didn’t hit. Again I think because there wasn’t enough info given to me about her to make me like her or care about her at all. I did like the pacing and the story in general was good. Maybe pick it up if ya want a quick, bingeable thriller.

This one had a good premise, but unfortunately I didn't find it very suspenseful. It felt like nothing actually happened between the starting and ending chapters. Also, for a book that has "a spicy suspense thriller" in the title, the spice was almost non-existent and very awkward. The ending was very far-fetched.

I was disappointed with this book. Elsewhere it's been described as 'gripping' but unfortunately it wasn't - and I didn't find it spicy or suspenseful either.
The story is based on Morgan and Kyle, a married couple who have gone away for a break apparently to 'spice up' their marriage. Which allegedly doesn't need any spicing up. But nonetheless. Immediately Kyle disappears and Morgan is nearly kidnapped. The rest of the story (or most of it) is then about whether Kyle was having an affair, whether Kyle was the one who actually tried to kidnap Morgan, whether he's going to ever return, etc.
I found it really grating and ridiculous how unaffected Morgan appeared to be by the whole situation. For someone who has lost her husband in very distressing circumstances, she's barely affected at all. Beyond a few lines thrown in about how she sometimes forgets he's not there and so on, she just gets on with her life. It made her character, and the book in general, feel completely absurd.
Her story intertwines with that of a journalist who is looking into the case, but she wasn't very interesting either. And when we find out what's actually happened with Kyle, the plot to me felt very far-fetched and silly. The whole book threw up more questions than it answered.
I only read this a couple of weeks ago but I can't actually remember the ending any more. I made myself read to the end because I'd requested it on Netgalley, but I really didn't rate it and would not recommend.

Damn that Morgan Murphy! I struggled to get into this book, but after a few chapters, I couldn't put it down. I needed to know what happened to Kyle. Twisty-page turner with a little spice. I do think that the description of spicy suspense thriller was a little deceiving. Needed more spice! This was my first book by Bonnie Traymore. I'll definitely be adding more of her books to my TBR.
The ending of the book was magical. I'm still smiling.

Thank you for the opportunity to review this arc.
This was a well drawn out thriller. However, I just couldn't get into it and was hard to capture my attention as the plot kept changing too much and hard to focus.
