Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review. This was a thriller that starts off with a violent attack on Shelby Dawson when she makes the mistake of stopping by her restaurant after hours to retrieve a stuffed animal forgotten there by one of her twins. Fifteen months later Shelby is trying to move on with her life and get past that horrible night but someone has different ideas as Shelby starts to find cryptic messages being left on her vehicle. Who was it that attacked her that fateful night and what happened to Leo as he mysteriously disappeared that same night....was he the attacker? In a small town where nothing ever happens, this crime has brought out a group of seniors running a podcast out of the lodge who band together to try and solve this mystery once and for all.....Enjoy!!!

The beginning of this started out really strong, instant suspense & I thought it was a good start to what I hoped to be a great book. The beginning was probably the best part though unfortunately. I felt that the writing was pretty sloppy. Many of the paragraphs were kind of like a run-on sentence between two characters & you didn’t really know who was talking (maybe audio was better because different voices for different characters, but audio shouldn’t have to pick up the slack for a poorly written book). Hard to tell who was talking & also who’s pov sometimes. Many times I had to go back to see whose chapter it was (pov title). Also I feel like there was a lot missing from certain characters as far as being actually present in the book & then too much of other characters that I felt were irrelevant and/or didn’t add much to the story. This had potential with the initial major event but afterwards it fell pretty flat. I really struggled with the entire story between being confusing at times & it was just not that interesting to me. Plus the ending was disappointing. Not what I expected from this author unfortunately. I loved On a Quiet Street by her. Hopefully this was a one off dud & her next book is what Glass fans expect ☺️
Thanks so much to NetGalley & Harlequin Trade Publishing for the opportunity to read an advanced copy!

Nothing ever happens here by Seraphina Nova Glass is a small-town thriller. There is just something interesting about issues that happen to rock the town. Everyone knows everyone, but how well do they really know them?
I love when books grab you at the beginning and don't let go. The book begins with the peaceful town getting rocked by a crime. Mack is experiencing the worst day of her life, her husband goes missing on the same day as her best friend Shelby is attacked and left to die.
I love how the characters felt like real people. They were very well written and helped to picture the story in your head as you read.

I loveeee this author and I loveee all of the books! I highly recommend this one! Could not put it down

This was pretty quickly a DNF for me. Just not engaged or interested at all in the characters or plotline, and the Goodreads reviews aren't good enough for me to stick around to continue. Sorry it was a miss for me, but appreciate the opportunity to receive an ARC nonetheless!

"Nothing Ever Happens Here" gives readers a small-town suspense and trauma-driven storyline, while blending mystery and high emotional stakes. The pacing of this book is high intense thriller, focusing on unresolved paranoia. This book doesn't give unreliable narrator like other thrillers, but it's close so keep that in mind.
Consider "Nothing Ever Happens Here" if you’re in the mood for a darker, faster-paced thriller .

Fifteen months after Shelby survived an attack at her friend, Mackenzie's, restaurant after hours Shelby is ready to move on with her life and put everything behind her. However, it seems to be impossible to move on from the attack as for one, Mackenzie's husband Leo disappeared on the same night, but also because recently someone is targeting Shelby and the people close to her. As new evidence comes to light and as the attacks continue on the people that Shelby is close to, a group of senior citizens from the retirement community Shelby manages makes the case go viral when they create a pod cast. Shelby is determined to find out who is behind the current and previous attacks - could it be Leo?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book - the pacing was very well done and the twist at the end allowed for a satisfying end to the book. What really made this book for me though was the group of senior citizens. Their relationships between each other and with Shelby were the backbone and strength of this book. I loved getting to experience the interactions between each other - this added some dimension to the overall mystery by allowing some humor and endearing characters.
I had the opportunity to review both the audio version, as well as the digital form of the book ahead of its release. While the book was obviously the same, I did find myself preferring the audio version better. The narration was consistent and engaging for the audio, but on the page I found myself starting to skim because the text felt dense. I'm glad I was able to experience both versions. I look forward to recommending this title and would like to thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This was a solid thriller overall, but I did see the end coming about halfway through. Overall, I stopped limited it and would recommend to others

This was an entertaining thriller, with
plenty of twists that kept me guessing from the start. It has some intense moments and a bit of humor. The premise was good, and I enjoyed the multiple POVs.
Nothing Ever Happens Here features a small town, attempted murder, missing persons, and threatening notes. It was a great idea having the senior citizens start a true crime podcast and look into the case themselves. I loved that aspect of the story.
If you enjoy small-town mysteries with
quirky characters and plenty of surprises, then this book is a must-read!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Wasn’t able to read this one digitally but I did order a copy of the book so will be reviewing it after I’ve read it. I’m really excited for it as I’ve only heard great things about it.

Blurb:
When Shelby Dawson survives a harrowing attack that should have left her dead, she tries to move past it—for herself, and for her family. Fifteen months later, with the help of her best friend, Mackenzie, she finally feels safe again in the snowy Minnesota town she calls home. But when an anonymous note appears on her windshield bearing the same threats her attacker made, Shelby realizes that her nightmare has only just begun.
Thoughts:
This was suspenseful enough of a read. Kept my attention throughout.
It is told in mulitive POV. There are a lot of characters, but they are distinctive enough that you can keep them apart.
I rated this a three star because the momentum started out SO GOOD, but then fell flat for me in the end.
I will recommend this author and this read in the future.
Thank you to Seraphina Nova Glass, Harlequin Publishing & Netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review. 🖤

Giving 3.5 stars rounded to 4. I enjoyed this one, very “who done it”, keeping you guessing. The first half was definitely better than the second, which I felt was a little rushed or jumped too quickly to conclusion. There were also a lot of characters to keep track of, but overall I loved the multiple POV’s and the overall story line. I did guess pretty quickly once a few details were revealed. Overall, recommend (:

Nothing Ever Happens Here starts off great - I was in such suspense, I really felt like I had finally found a thriller that knows me. But then it stopped. Even when it was supposed to get intense again, nothing matched the beginning. It took me over a month to finish this book and I just was not motivated to pick it up. It was suspenseful at times and there was a mystery that I did not predict the ending to, but there were too many points where I was not interested. The POV of Florence, the older woman, was cute but I think those were the points I was least interested.
The ending was completely unrealistic, I was dying to get through it.
P.S. Final Fantasy 7 is currently not out on XBOX ::crying emoji:: I really hate when I see a reference to something I'm familiar with but then see the author get it so wrong. Also, it's "Yuffie" not "Ruffie". It's something so easily Google-able.

A small town, mystery thriller and I LOVED it! This multi-POV novel takes you on a wild ride and major twists. Bonus: a senior citizen scooby-doo gang!!
Small town life typically means nothing more exciting than town gossip and occasional petty crimes. One night changes all that when two friends lives are totally turned upside down. One has a missing husband, another is bound and left for dead. There are no leads, no clues and many of the town folk speculate that the friends are not the victims they claim to be.
Now, over a year later, Shelby and Mackenzie are trying to move on with their lives. Then Shelby starts receiving threats and an increase in violence reignites the investigation. A group of senior citizens decides to try to help but investigating and hosting a podcast to bring attention to the situation. The danger grows and suddenly, everyone is a suspect.
The story was perfectly paced in my opinion! The multiple POV brought new perspective and really created a larger dynamic to the story. Florence and the senior citizen gang were my absolute favorite. I could not help but screaming out "To the mystery machine!" whenever they all piled into the van to head off an investigate with their knitting needles, boxed wine and robes. The author seamlessly blended the thriller/mystery heaviness with banter and humor for levity. Perfection!

This was my first Seraphina Nova Glass book, and I really liked it. It was a fun mystery thriller. I like her writing style; it makes me want to read more of her books. This storyline captivated me from beginning to end.

Thanks to Netgalley an Harlequin for a gifted copy of Nothing Ever Happens Here.
This story was wild. It’s been a while since I read a thriller and this one was perfect. It kept me guessing until the big reveal.
I loved the residents of Oleander Terrace. They were hilarious and exactly how I want to be when I get older. And I loved how they banded together to helped Shelby and Mack find out who was attacking people around their small town.
And man…Shelby and Mack had a rough year. I felt bad for them. And glad they made it to the other side.
You might like Nothing Ever Happens Here if you like:

A quick and fun mystery thriller that will keep you turning the page for more. I enjoyed the characters, though I did find some of the plot points a bit predictable.

Nothing ever happens here—famous last words, right? Shelby Dawson has spent the past year trying to put her life back together after a terrifying attack. She’s moved to quiet White Lake, Minnesota, working at a retirement home and trying to keep things simple. But when a note appears on her windshield—eerily similar to the threat her attacker once left—her carefully built peace starts to crack.
This book hooked me from the first chapter. It’s a thriller, yes, but it’s also about trauma, survival, and the fragile illusion of safety. Shelby is strong but real—trying to trust herself again, trying to believe the past is really behind her. And just when you think the story is going one way, it tilts.
The Oleander retirement home crew adds such a fun, heartwarming touch. Their amateur sleuthing gives the book these unexpected, charming beats that balance out the tension perfectly.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for sending a digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a decent thriller, with plenty of twists that kept me guessing and some heart-pounding moments along the way. Unfortunately, it felt overcrowded with too many characters, none that I really connected with, making it difficult to feel really invested. It didn’t feel particularly original, and the repeated mentions of ice fishing were oddly distracting, we get it, you're in Minnesota. The ending was satisfying enough, even if the book as a whole didn’t wow me. Not a bad read, but not one I’m rushing to recommend.
Thanks to NetGalley and Graydon House for access to this book.

Shelby survived a horrible attack that left her for dead but now she has survived and is picking up the pieces slowly. She begins working on a senior citizen home and things begin getting crazy again!! Loved all of the seniors and the splashes of humor. and of course all the thrilling moments!!
