This book started out really strong. It drew me in, and I was so curious to what was going to happen and who was behind everything. But then I feel like it fell flat a bit. It slowed down and I didn't care for a lot of the characters and the side stories. I have read this author before and I think sometimes she overcomplicates things. I mostly cared about the two main female characters and what was happening with their lives. I didn't care for the smaller characters. The ending did pick up which I liked, and I flew through to know what was going to happen. I also did not guess the ending so that always adds more points to my review. I just don't think the whole book was worth the more twisted/exciting ending. This was my least favorite of her books that I have read.

As always, Seraphina Nova Glass delivered an excellent book! One of my favorite authors. I loved these characters, the suspense, the twists. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

Holy smokes I was glued to this book. The way we bounced perspectives between three female main characters was refreshing and easy to follow along with.

The rural setting and the helplessness of the characters to their individual problems was so surreal and intriguing. I can’t get enough.

Shelby comes back to Mackenzie’s diner at the wrong time and interrupts a theft in progress. She ends up narrowly surviving the night. Things are relatively quiet for the next fifteen months, and Shelby tries to move on with her life. However, it seems the attacker isn’t finished with her.

The night of the attack, Mackenzie’s husband, Leo, goes missing, too leading some to theorize Leo was the attacker. As if his disappearance isn’t enough to deal with, Mackenzie finds out that Leo spent all the savings and was in debt, devastating her finances. She doesn’t know what to think.

Florance is a resident at the senior center Shelby manages. When a friend claims her husband didn’t die of natural causes, but was murdered, Florance decides to look into it which ends up being connected to Shelby’s case.

I did find Shelby’s actions to be a little frustrating in places. After being attacked and all the things going on, she plowed on without thinking things through. I also wondered why Mackenzie and Shelby weren’t a little more forthcoming with each other, especially since they were close friends.

Still, it was an entertaining mystery, fast paced and kept me guessing!

I alternately read and listened to an audio and can recommend either version. Stacey Glemboski is a new to me narrator, but I’ve listened to both Brittany Pressley and Petrea Buchard in that past and enjoyed all three narrators. It was nice to have a different voice for each of the POVs. They fit the personality of each character and sounded age appropriate.

My first Seraphina Nova Glass book. It caught my attention right off with that opening scene. There wasn’t a lot of down time and the characters seemed well and realistically written. There were a lot of great reveals that didn’t just fly up out of nowhere.

I loved Saraphina Nova Glass' prior books and was so excited to get my hands on this one. It did not let me down. It was dark, twisty perfection!

Shelby and MacKenzie are close friends. One night Shelby is leaving Mac's cafe/coffee shop with her twins and Mac is closing up. Shelby realizes one of the twins left their stuffy inside and Mac sends her back in, asks her just to lock up and she leaves. Shelby ends up encountering an intruder inside, is attacked and left for dead.

Mac helps her to work toward moving past it. Shelby finally starts to feel somewhat safe again when she finds a note on her car. It contains the same threat her attacker made that night. Her nightmare isn't over.

Oddly, Mac's husband Leo went missing the night Shelby was attacked. Many believe him to be the attacker. Mac doesn't want to believe it. But as money starts to become an issue and she starts loking deeper into their finances, she realizes Leo had not been truthful with her about their finances, and possibly so much more.

The stars of this book, however, were the senior citizens who reside in the center run by Shelby and owned by Leo. Their podcast and investigation were so entertaining. I adored every single one of them.

Narration by Brittany Pressley, Stacey Glemboski and Petrea Burchard was spot on. You become a part of the story through their narration and it makes you so invested!

This one will have you on the edge of your seat until the end.

It's been over a year since Shelbi almost died at the hands of a man she didn't know, and Mack's husband Leo disappeared. They're trying to restore their lives in their small Minnesota town. Then, a letter threatens Shelbi, and Mack realizes that Leo may not be dead after all.

This was a wonderful popcorn thriller with a great cast of characters and a lot of action.

I liked the story and the fast-pacing, but I thought it was choppy at some times. I really liked the characters (especially the seniors!). A part of me wishes the book was a bit longer just so we could have a little more character development. Overall, it was a good suspense/mystery and another one from this author that I enjoyed.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Read if you like:
❄️ snowy, wintery thrillers
❄️ multi-POV
❄️ single timeline
❄️ lots of characters

This is one of those books where they kinda throw a bunch of random puzzle pieces out, but they don’t really make sense until everything comes together in the end.
I really loved this one right from the beginning! The books starts with the height-of-action, and I got sucked in immediately. I finished this in one day, I couldn’t wait to get to the end.
There were definitely a lot of characters in this one. I did get a little bit confused in the beginning trying to keep track of everyone. I have to admit I did not really like any of the characters and wasn’t really sad to see any of them go 🤪
This was a perfect wintery thriller!!! Snowy and creepy and “someone’s watching you” vibes 😬😬

I love stories set in MN and this cozy mystery/twisty tale was just what I was in the mood for. It drew me in right away, kept me thoroughly entertained, and had me guessing to the very end. I’m a sucker for feisty senior characters and I loved that it was their determination that caused the case to go viral. I thought I figured out who the villain was, and will happily admit I was totally wrong. This was my first read by Seraphina and I look forward to more.

What I enjoyed;
✨ MN Setting
✨ Popcorn Thriller
✨ Cozy Mystery
✨ Domestic Suspense
✨ Multiple POV
✨ The Oleander Gang

Thank you so much to HTP Books and The Hive the gifted copies.

stayed up way to late reading this one and it was good. I would classify it as a popcorn thriller. It has some good twist and turns and kept me wanting to read. Perfect for some lighter thriller reading time.

I liked this because the story kept me on my toes with different twists and turns. I love the author's writing style and am never disappointed with the storytelling. However, there was something about it that bored me a bit. I think there were too many characters and too many things happening at once. Overall, I still really enjoyed it, but I wanted it to have a clearer focus at times.

The pacing was a little slow at times and the multitude of characters was hard to keep up with sometimes, but I did really enjoy the characters in this book and the narrators did an amazing job.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC! Nothing Ever Happens Here by Seraphina Nova Glass is a fast paced, heart thumping thriller. When a devastating incident leaves Shelby terrorized for life she doesn’t quite know how to get up every morning. However, her two little girls help her make it through each day. Over time, she starts to feel alright but never quite safe. She helps run an old age home and the elderly residents feel just like family. What she doesn’t know is that danger is always lurking just around the corner for her. This novel kept me on the edge of my seat up until the very end. It also kept me guessing and I couldn’t quite put my finger on what would happen and how it would turn out. Overalll, a well crafted who-done-it, great thriller that I would recommend to others.

Nothing Ever Happens Here is a creepy page-turner full of menace, foreboding and tension that will chill readers to the bone.

Shelby Dawson is lucky to be alive. After surviving a brutal attack, Shelby had no other choice but to try and put that horrible night behind her and focus on getting better for her sake and that of her family. Thanks to her friend, Mackenzie, Shelby has managed to get a semblance of her life back and now feels safe and secure again in the Minnesota town she calls home – until she finds a note on the windshield with the same threats her attacker had made! Shelby thought she could put that nightmare behind her, but it turns out, it’s only just begun!

Unable to shake off the feeling that she’s being watched, strange and sinister things begin to take place in town and the people she cares most about in the world end up embroiled in suspicious events. As Shelby begins to question who her attacker might have been, her friend Mackenzie also begins to contend with demons of her own. Her husband had gone missing the night Shelby was attacked and nobody knows why. With his finances revealing some earth-shattering secrets, if Leo is still alive, then he could hold the key to unravelling the identity of who attacked Shelby that night.

Is Leo’s disappearance linked to Shelby’s attacker? Can Shelby find out the truth about what happened that night? Or will there be another shocking surprise in store for her?

Seraphina Nova Glass’s Nothing Ever Happens Here is a classy, sophisticated and compulsively readable thriller that hooks readers from the start and keeps them engrossed until the last sentence. Pacy, unpredictable and packed with twist after twist, Nothing Ever Happens Here is a must for thriller fans.

Thus was a decent thriller, and I loved the setting for this time of year. There felt to be a lot of characters which I ended up not bothering to keep straight and just clumped them together.

While I absolutely loved the narrators the book fell way short for me. I did not enjoy it at all. I do think the two narrators did an exceptional job. The story was just not for me.

I found the main character/characters to be boring. The plot was awful and the use of language in parts was atrocious. It just didn't do anything for me. I'm so so sorry.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc.

I did a spotlight on my blog and on Instagram for this book.
