I was excited to read this book because I've struggled for years to define myself and create a career that feels fulfilling and meaningful when faced with so many demands that have me stuck in the same place. Is it selfish to go back to school and give up a steady, well-paying job even if the job feels rote and meaningless? Do I have time to pursue something more fulfilling when I'm already struggling with the demands of an aging parent and two young kids on top of my day job? One of the problems I have--like many others--is that I don't always know what's possible. Whatever the Hell You Want does a fantastic job illustrating exactly what's out there and gave me the courage to imagine something more for myself. I've become a fan of the podcast after reading this and love that it goes even deeper into this type of work. I'm excited to see what unfolds for me as I start to think bigger.

This was a wonderful book. I recommend it highly to anyone who hasn't gotten out of life whet they deserve. You can still get it. Read this book.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc!!
This book was so insightful and funny, good read for sure!!
I’ll look for more from this author.

Thank you Netgalley for an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
I like the concept behind this book. Break free from expectations and be your own person.
In the first few pages, we learn that one of the authors doesn't want children and broke free from societal expectations. She moved across the country on her own as a single woman. Then in the next couple of pages, the author is saying that themselves, their husband and son have a kick ass life. I'm interested in learning how the author changed their perspective so dramatically - I feel like that would be an interesting read.
I really enjoyed the chapter about communication styles and family expectations. I liked the insight into different communication styles in different families and the critical reflection of - are my feelings values and do I feel heard?
Overall, this book is well-written and an interesting guide for you to reflect about your own life and what you want.
4/5

4/5 stars. I received this ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This book gave me many great journal prompts/exercises, encouraging deep reflection on life and our choices. This book was humorous at times and supplied many great examples of breaking out of different-sized boxes while addressing the complexities of pursuing our dreams.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. I loved this book, it had the perfect amount of humor and I really felt seen. Society causes so much pressure on everyone and everything these days. I love how it breaks everything down to show us we don't need to follow what everyone is doing and it will be ok!
