Thanks to Netgalley and Atria Books for the opportunity to read a digital advanced readers copy (ARC) of “Paw and Order (A Chet & Bernie Mystery #7)” by Spencer Quinn. I have read the first six books in the series, and I did not enjoy this book as much as the earlier books in the series. It was nice to visit again with Bernie, the human P.I., and Bernie, the doggy narrator extraordinaire.

In "Paw and Order," Bernie and Chet travel to Washington, D. C. to visit Bernie's reporter girlfriend, Suzie Sanchez. Susie is working on a major story with a British source that goes awry; the British source ends up in trouble, and the dynamic duo gets ensnared in the case. Bernie and Chet are off to the races, saving the day and battling an international conspiracy.

The plot is ripe with humor since it is told from a dog's perspective. The narrative was engaging and fast-paced, but the resolution to the mystery was meh.
