A worthy sequel to killers of a certain age. Indiana Jones meets James Bond in this thriller about a 60-something quartet of female assassins. Action packed, and exciting this is a must read for Summer 2025.
Thanks to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC.

Rounded up from 3,5ish. It's been long enough since reading the first book in this series, that I remembered very little of it. But, I'm pretty confident that I did like it a bit more than this follow-up. Not that I disliked "Kills Well With Others"; I just didn't love it. My biggest complaints are that some of the "scene changes" or transitions were rather abrupt and disorienting. But overall, it was plenty fun, with a lot of humor AND action. I don't think I'm alone in my opinion that the chicken was a highlight!

It was so fun being back with Billie, Helen, Nat and Mary Alice. These women are so badass! I was a little unsure of the tie in of the flashback chapters but most of it came clear as the story went on. Loved some of the history sprinkled in with the missing artwork from WW2 and mentions of Monuments Men. Highly recommend!

A second book that follows the same golden aged women who have been a contract killer team. Here you'll see the same women, smart and quick, with a new (with some history) target on the radar. These women become some major globe trotting which was a complete delight to read. That said, I found there was a lot of shifting of places, names, plot points, and history, that it didn't keep me dialed in. I love the concept of older women being the main POV's in a book, but I found I liked the first book more.
Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley for the gifted e-ARC.

Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie dive back into the fray when a colleague's murder reveals the calling card of an old foe thought to be long gone. "Killers of a Certain Age" left me eagerly anticipating more, so I was delighted to discover its sequel, "Kills Well with Others,” was in the works. This follow-up delivers. Our fabulous sexagenarian assassins embark on a globetrotting cat-and-mouse game set against glamorous locales that rival any Bond film. Their sisterly relationship, shaped by 40 years of fighting, sometimes with each other by mostly side-by-side, only adds to the story’s charm. It's a must-read for spy thriller enthusiasts craving a lighthearted, cozy escape.
Thank you to NetGalley for providing an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book from NetGalley and Berkley Publishing in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in a series a though I suppose it could be read as a standalone, I wouldn’t recommend it. The story picks up shortly after the previous one ended. We see what the women have been up to since their last escapade, though the story focuses mainly on Billie just like the last book. I enjoy seeing these women who have basically been written off due to age being brought in because of their experience and knowledge because of that age. And frankly, we tend to overlook women after they reach a certain age so it would make sense to use that to their advantage. I like the flashbacks to prior assignments and then seeing how that fits into the current one. This was an enjoyable read for the most part but Billie isn’t really one of my favorite FMCs and Taverner puts up with too much.

What a great follow-up to Killers of a Certain Age! Another great heist-y mystery starring the fabulous four! I loved the camaraderie, the witty banter, and just the fun of this story! Billie even grows a little bit!

Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie were once assassins working for a secretive organization known as the Museum. They spent decades going on missions and earned their right to a peaceful retirement, but instead, they found themselves on the run when they were being targeted by the same people they worked for. After years of laying low, the four were called into action yet again when a killer took an interest in one of their old missions.
The women learn that a mole within the Museum has compiled a list of notable kills performed by agents, and their names are at the top. Now, a shadowy Eastern European gangster with ties to their first job is hot on their heels and hellbent on revenge. Soon, the foursome embark on a wild trip around Europe, trying to ferret out the mole while staying one step ahead of the gangster and her assassin. But this new foe is unlike any the women have faced before, and they'll need to fall back on their old training and wits if they hope to make it out alive.
I'm so glad Raybourn wrote a sequel because I loved the first book. It was wildly entertaining, and this second one was even more so. The characters are my favorite part. They all have such distinct personalities, and it's fun watching them butt heads and rile each other up. They've been through so much together, and you can tell that despite their griping, they're a family. Also, I will forever love the fact that they can kill someone with a flick of their wrist but then complain about their bunions. Raybourn's humor is top-notch, and her banter is just as sharp as the foursome's blades. I liked the mystery aspect and the flashbacks to the women's previous missions, trying to piece together how it all fit together. If you're looking for a series with badass female main characters and fast-paced writing or want something that will make you laugh, I can't recommend this series enough.

I really wanted to love this book. I think I went in hoping that there would be a bit more humor. There were comedic bits thrown in. I especially loved the chicken. There were just not as many as I was hoping for. The mystery itself is enjoyable. I didn’t love how the flashbacks were integrated, the way they were placed in the story didn’t quite make sense until the end, which I always find hard. I am so glad they were able to tie everything together though. The main characters are enjoyable, and it is fun to see older characters showing how strong they are. And they were incredibly strong. Overall this is an okay book. I didn't love or dislike it.
Thank you so much to Berkley Publishing Group and Netgalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of this title.

I had a blast reading "Killers of a Certain Age" and I was beyond excited to have a follow up that is equally fun, hilarious, and completely delivers on a high octane escapist adventure. Billie, Mary Alice, Helen, and Natalie are back after narrowly escaping from a hit on their lives. Now someone has killed an assassin, and the death may be connected to a recent security breach. On top of that, they could be targets because of a case in the past.
I love how the past and present are intertwined and what seems like a basic plot grows to a complex web. What I love most about this series is our four assassins, their wit and unlikely friendships. Think "Golden Girls" meets "Charlie Angels" meets "Red". I'm looking forward to more adventures in this series.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Random House for an advanced readers copy of the book.

A highly anticipated read that did not disappoint! I loved the first book in the series and hope it continues. I think these ladies have a lot more life in them and I can’t wait to go on another adventure!

Our middle age assassins are back and just as good as before. Billie’s personality is far stronger than the other three and sometimes I can’t tell the other women from the other. Some of the travel sections dragged but overall the pacing was good. I’m always a fan of nazi hunting and recovering stolen art. Yes, there’s bits of gore—they’re assassins—but Billie’s observations are so sharp that’s what I remember more. Deanna Raybourn’s voice is *chef’s kiss*. I think you should read book 1 to fully enjoy this one, and if you haven’t read book 1, why on earth not?

If you loved Killers of a Certain Age, you'll love this one, too! I really enjoyed this (though content warning for like, a LOT of on-page violence), and really enjoyed being back in the world of these four women, bonded for over 40 years as a team of assassins (but only against bad guys!), and still doing what they do even after their agency attempted to off them in the first book of this series. I liked getting to know the characters even more, particularly things about the non-assassin parts of their lives, the mundane things like their cats and their yoga practices and their home renovation projects. Once again, they're being hunted in this one, and they try to take some preemptive action to protect themselves that doesn't go as planned. I found this fast-paced, interesting, and I enjoyed the intermittent visits to their past assignments that helped tie threads of the story together. I would recommend to fans of Raybourn's other books and also for fans of my beloved Polish Netflix series The Green Glove Gang.

Another fun book from Deanna Raybourn. The gang is back in this Golden Girls meets Charlie’s Angels novel. Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie may be retired but that doesn’t mean they can’t handle their own still. When they’re recalled to take on an off the books job for organization known as The Museum, they’re ready to tackle a challenge that spans all the back to some of their first missions. Someone on the inside is leaking data, and the four senior women are determined to uncover the culprit. The mission will take them back into the past but with their experience, they’re most certainly up for the job.
I adored the first book, and I’m thrilled it’s becoming a series. I love a good bunch of senior ladies not acting their age. I mean age is really just a number, right? We dive a lot more into Billie’s past this go around and while I enjoyed getting to learn more about her, I thought it slowed the story down a bit. Killers of a Certain Age was a page- turner, and I had a hard time putting it down, Kills Well With Others while entertaining, wasn’t as compulsive of a read. It’s still filled with plenty of humor, action, and snark – Kills Well with Others is a fast & fun read.
Kills Well With Others comes out March 11, 2025! Huge thank you to Berkley for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest opinion. If you liked this review please let me know either by commenting below or by visiting:

If you are looking for an action packed thriller then you need to check this one out. I think that this is a well done book that sheds light into the fact that just because we are aging doesn’t make us incapable or useless

Four retired assassins in their sixties are once again on the run, as a past hit puts them in the sights of an unknown vengeful killer. And they really thought retirement was going to stick this time! I love the four very different women, their relationships to each other and their reaction to their work and life choices. Fun every time!

I love these 60+ women assassins! What a great group of characters, and I enjoy the inventive solutions they come up with. The European setting was excellent, and I liked the basis in the Nazi art looting. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

A thoroughly delightful sequel to KILLERS OF A CERTAIN AGE. A perfect book to tuck into a bag for travel or beach reading. The characters, mysteries, chases, and banter are all top-notch. Cannot possibly recommend more highly

I thoroughly enjoyed Killers of a Certain Age, so I was delighted to find out we were getting another installment. In this case, rather than being pursued by their own agency, this deadly group of "retired" ladies are threatened by someone from their past with a grudge. This was just as much fun as the first book; these smart, funny women are an absolute hoot. Quick paced, but with a lot of heart, following our bad-ass foursome through the years of their career makes you wish you could be half as cool as them.

Deanna Raybourn has written a highly intelligent and often times hilarious murder mystery about an older set of female assassins. I loved each of these women for their outlook, vigor, witty repartee but I especially admire Deanna Raybourn for creating “those who can and those who will.” As Billie is remarking that “Just once, I’d like to kill a gentleman” - Mary Alice is opining that a gentleman probably wouldn’t need killing while Helen is preparing the weapon and Natalie is using sleight of hand to deliver what is supposed to kill their target. Teamwork or maybe it is going to mean Plan B. These four women are extraordinary and fun. They treat each other as sisters, bickering as they plan the best method to kill the next target. They are experts in the use of disguise including wearing incontinence pants and turquoise Chuck Taylors - nothing is sacred while everything is au courant. Mary Alice has a wife, Billie has a lover and all these characters blend beautifully.
Special mention for including interesting historical asides and obscure locations that helped flesh out each part of the story. Savonarola - really?! Woe is me that I have not yet read the first installment in this series which I plan to remedy in the very near future. Many thanks to Berkeley and NetGalley for this ARC.
