Kills Well with Others puts Billie, Natalie, Mary Alice and Helen back in the crosshairs. After a year of laying low from their last encounter with the Museum, they receive a call from Naomi warning them that they could be on the hit list of someone connected to their past, who is out for revenge. They once again have to come together to find out who is out to kill them, while watching out for one another and those that they love.

After reading Killers of a Certain Age, I found that I loved Kills Well with Others even more. The four friends have such a great relationship, and their banter and personality clashes bring so much great humor to the story. I love their snarky comments on current culture and getting older.

The story comes full circle in this book, and takes the conflict back to their first mission as a team. It’s a great set up for the mystery behind who the leak is in the Museum and who is out for revenge against the four of them. I really loved all of the different locations that are mentioned in the story, as the ladies travel from place to place. Raybourn does an amazing job with the setting descriptions, and I love seeing how the group adapts to each new locale with their knowledge of its history and the languages spoken there.

More of the groups past is revealed through Billie’s flashback POVs, and I felt like there was a lot more depth brought to her background in this book. Her time as an assassin wasn’t as smooth as it seemed, and some of her mistakes are revealed, and I think those flaws make her character even more lovable. I also enjoyed getting more backstory on her relationship with Taverner.

Kills Well with Others has a fun mix of senior characters, sarcastic humor, fast pacing, mystery, and great female friendships.

I enjoyed this second book following these strong women. I liked the back and forth of current reality with flashbacks into their pasts. I can't myself imagine being as 'bad-ass' as these four women, but their story is compelling. I will recommend this to mystery readers who also like strong female leads.

I found the Killers of a Certain Age to be delightful and was glad to be able to read books 1 and 2 back to back thanks to NetGalley. I hope these assassins keep on killing for a good deal many more books!

I enjoyed the first of this duology so much but this second portion didn't resound as thoroughly as the first.
This was more plot-driven even than the first, and it was more of a "tell me" rather than a "show me" situation, as far as the writing style went.
I like these ladies so much, love their paths, but this sequel didn't quite deliver the impact of the first.

I was so excited to receive this ARC of Kills Well with Others. I loved the first book, Killers of a Certain Age, and it was such a wonderful surprise to find out that it wasn't a standalone.

My favorite thing about this series are the relationships. The friendship between Billie, Nat, Mary Alice, and Helen is realistic and hilarious. There were multiple times I found myself laughing and sympathizing with them. This is a forty-year-long friendship, so we get to see their arguments and feelings and know there's little that will tear them apart. I also enjoyed the development of their romantic relationships and how Akiko seemed to fully embrace this new lifestyle. It's also fun to see the protectiveness trope flipped with Billie and Taverner. She doesn't want him involved because it's dangerous, which is usually a masculine trope. There's an added layer of humor with it over the fact that he's also an assassin and can take care of himself. (We know if the roles were reversed Billie would not be having it.)

While the first book holds a special place in my heart, I really enjoyed the sequel and I'm excited to see when/if there will be a third.

I was worried this wouldn't live up to my love for book 1, but it sure did!!! These characters are so well done, and despite having a memory like a sieve, I fell right back into their lives. This plot was amazing, I loved the cruise ship setting and the social commentary as always!!!

Warning - this is not a cozy mystery. When I read the first book in this series, Killers of a Certain Age, I thought it was going to be a cozy similar to The Thursday Murder Club.. and I was oh so wrong. This is more of a thriller? Suspense? There is blood, there is murder, it is a not over the top graphic but definitely not cozy.

I read Killers of a Certain Age about a year ago and really enjoyed it—but I have to say, Kills Well with Others took this series to a whole new level for me. Once again, the four ex-hitwomen find themselves forced out of retirement, this time to avoid becoming targets themselves after crossing paths with a dangerous family on one of their earliest missions.

Their bond is at the heart of the story: complicated at times, yet rooted in unwavering trust and loyalty. We get to see their relationships with their significant others as well since they are dragged along into hiding.

If you love suspenseful action, whip-smart banter, and a tightly-knit group of strong female leads, Kills Well with Others will definitely hit the mark.

Think Charles Angels meets Golden Girl - no really. Suspenseful spy story with perfect spy humor. You will be quickly engaged in the plot as there are several murders to follow along with and some extraordinary things the main characters are doing.

This was a fun read, and a great installment to the series (which I didn't realize there would be one?!)

Thank you NetGalley and Berkley/Penguin Random House for my ARC!

I love stories with strong female characters, especially when they are “older” gals. These women have to find a killer before it finds them. Various personalities make this team interesting.

This book is a suspenseful spy story that is dotted throughout with humor. Readers will be quickly engaged in a plot that is inhabited by familiar mature female character archetypes doing extraordinary things. The book describes several murders, yet it is almost a comedic romp due to the dialogue and comradery between the main characters.
This book (and the series) is a fun read that will be popular with many readers.

I absolutely loved Kills Well with Others by Deanna Raybourn and found it even better than the first book! Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie’s return to action was packed with clever twists, humor, and heart-pounding suspense that kept me hooked from start to finish. The plot was delightfully intricate, with global stakes and a perfect balance of action and wit that showcased why these women remain at the top of their game—even if they joke about retirement. My only disappointment is the bittersweet tone of the ending, which suggests this might be the last installment in the series. If that’s the case, the quartet certainly goes out on a high note, leaving me both thoroughly entertained and wanting more. Thank you, NetGalley and the publisher, for the chance to read this incredible book!

This followup to Killers of a Certain Age is just as much fun, and readers of the first book will be very happy to see this. However, it is truly a standalone, so no prior reading required to enjoy this. Perfect for fans of the Thursday Murder Club series, and for the many viewers who have enjoyed Ted Danson's Netflix series, The Inside Man.

Another welcome foray into the lives of 4 irrepressible older women who take on the really bad guys while sharing a closeness and friendship only 40+ years and a dangerous profession can produce. Great characters, beautifully described locales, tense action, and satisfying conclusion.

Thanks to NetGalley and Berkley/Penguin Random House for the ARC to read and review.

The Golden Girls meets Charlie's Angels. Despite being in their 60s, the four female assassins are still evolving and growing. They are smart, sassy and sexy. I do like the recommendations for using common household items as killing or torture tools. Also, I would like Taverner if Billie is finished with him. A worthy sequel to the first book.

As a huge fan of Killers of a Certain Age I was so incredibly excited to be back in the world of Billie, Mary Alice, Helen, and Natalie as they partner with "The Museum" once again. This book however just didn't live up to the first story for me. While I loved being back in the world and getting to hear from some of my favorite characters, I don't feel this story had the same qualities that made Killers of a Certain Age so page turning. I think its a great quick read and a fun follow up if you are a huge fan of the first book, but it wouldn't be able to stand alone for me personally!

Thank you to @berkleyromance for the advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own and I am leaving this review voluntarily #berkley #berkleypartner

Kills Well with Others is the second in the Killers of a Certain Age series. I loved the first book. This one was fun, but was missing the spark to take it to the highest level of enjoyment. Don’t be fooled into thinking that because the main characters are “of a certain age” that is going to be a cozy mystery. There’s plenty of blood and gore.
The four senior assassins are back again when they are targeted by the family of a previous target. The book moves at a brisk pace, with lots of action and snarky humor. But there’s also a fair amount of pathos as Billie tries to learn to trust.
The book is told from Billie’s perspective, but the reader gets a great feel for each of the gals. I loved the interaction between them as things aren’t always hunky dory between them. Raybourn excels when she spends time on these friendships. I had to google how old Raybourn was, as she has a great feel for what it’s like to be over 60. (FYI, she’s not there yet.)
This is a smart thriller that has you thinking about when someone deserves killing.
I think this book would work best if you’ve read the first book in the series.
My thanks to Netgalley and Berkley for an advance copy of this book.

Kills Well with Others by Deanna Raybourn brings four senior female assassins back to work at what they do best, getting rid of evil people Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie are ready to get back to work and as their past and present work seems to be coinciding, it takes all of their skills to complete the mission. These books have believable and loveable protagonists, lots of fun locations and of course, lots of killing. It is good to see older women who may be a bit slower but still able to kill with the best. This was a very entertaining sequel and I hope not the last we see of Billie, Helen, Mary Alice, and Natalie.

4.5 stars. This is such a great successor to Killers Of A Certain Age. Both books are fun, and the characters are so easy to root for and love. I enjoyed the pace and the many different locations. It feels well researched and is just a super entertaining read. Older women can still be bad ass and sharp! Thanks for this ARC from #netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

The gang is back after a brief rest. A job has come back to haunt them so they are pulled from retirement to continue to clear their names. Billie is learning to love, Helen is learning to love again, Natalie will never stop being a man eater and Mary Alice is just trying to keep her wife happy. The action is fast, the dialogue is witty, and the settings are vivid. It's a perfect sequel that I never knew I needed. But it does make me hungry for even more.
