Fliss and James are work rivals who are sent on a work trip to work on team building, their boss leaves them stranded in Scotland and they have to work together to get home.
I didnt really feel the chemistry between the two, it went from rivals/enemies to lovers very quickly. I think there could have been some more time to unravel each character and fall in love with them both. I think that dual POV would have been nice too.
It felt more like last two on earth/lust than love.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me an eArc of this book.

I love having a fun time with romance books that I read quickly over a short period of time and it is what Work Trip gave me on one afternoon as I focused on getting my physical TBR down. It wasn’t a romance book that became a new favourite but that didn’t mean that I didn’t have a good time, which I definitely did, and I do now want to read more from Chloe Ford.
Work Trip follows Fliss who is filled with dread at the thought of a work team building trip, mainly because of her colleague James, whose ideas in sales often try to derail her plans but when the pair arrive in the Scottish Highlands they have an unexpected challenge, being abandoned by their boss in the middle of nowhere to try and get them to hook up. With no other options the pair have to work together, so that they can get through their unpredictable elements, and stand firm in their resolve not to give into any romantic relations.
There were a few parts of this book that meant I had a good time with this book and read it all in one sitting, wanting to know what would happen to the pair. I loved the setting, many of the characters and watching as perspectives changed throughout the book.
At the start of Work Trip Chloe Ford has a note that says while she tried to plot the route taken by Fliss and James she ended up writing a route that wouldn’t be possible which as a Scottish reader I really liked. It meant when reading I didn’t expect it to be a possible route and could just read it and enjoy their trip in the middle of nowhere, which was something that I did really enjoy and had me rooting for the characters. While reading I could also tell how much Chloe Ford loved the setting of the Scottish Highlands which was a really nice thing to see reflected on the page and just made the book even more enjoyable.
Due to the nature of the story we don’t see many other characters other than James and Fliss, this meant I felt like I got to know these two characters quite well. It took a while for me to root for Fliss, however once I did I really enjoyed seeing her perspective on certain things change throughout the book and waited to read about her. I also liked seeing how Fliss’s perspective on James changed as she got to know and understand him better. It was so fun to read as I rooted for him from a similar point to I did Fliss.
While we didn’t spend loads of time with other characters there were characters that I really liked from early on including Fliss’s assistant.
Overall this was a fun romance book that I had a really good time with. I would recommend it if you are looking for a romance book that is a good fun time because that is where this one excels. I am definitely looking forward to reading more Chloe Ford in the future and would love to read more romance books with similar premises.

Felicity (Fliss) and James (Gloatman) work together at an events agency but they don't get along, they can't stand each other and they're both fighting for the open directors position. Their boss decides they need a team building trip to Scotland and instead of it being an organised corporate event, he drops them off in the middle of the Scottish Highlands with £50 and tells them to work together to find their way back to Inverness in time for their flights home.
The two characters lacked chemistry and it seemed incredibly implausible that they would spend 6 years hating each other to wanting each other in the space of 3 days. If one or both of them had been harbouring feelings for each other that whole time, then maybe it would make sense. But they both declare they hate each other.
I didn't really like Fliss either. She didn't really seem to know who she was or what she wanted from life, instead, her job was everything to her and she thrived on the praise she got from her boss but she was out of touch with her team and what she was worth to the company. I'm pleased she finally took a step back at the end to re-evaluate what she wanted from life though.
Thanks to NetGalley and Aria for the opportunity to read and review this ARC.

A great, engaging read that was the perfect thing to get lost in after a long day. exactly what you want from a romance

The idea of a work trip is the ideal of hell to Fliss, but when she’s trying to impress her boss to finally get the promotion she’s been working towards, of course she’s going to go. But when she arrives in the Scottish highlands and realises that the only other person on the trip is her nemesis and rival James, she wishes she’d just stayed at home. And when their boss abandons them in the middle of nowhere with one tent and two sleeping bags, it really is survival of the fittest.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I absolutely loved Work Trip! Who doesn’t love a work enemies trope? The banter, chemistry and chaos were just perfect. And although the storyline was a little crazy, Chloe Ford delivered it in such a believable way, I couldn’t help but be angry for James and devastated for Fliss.
I felt as though the plot and pace of the story was perfect and it moved along without labouring over what was happening, but still delivering the key parts of the story. And with just the right amount of humour! (Those packs!)
Thank you Chloe Ford, Aria and Netgalley for this advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review!

A corporate away trip forces marketing manager Fliss together with her work enemy 'Gloatman' in the remote Scottish Highlands and she inevitably learns that there's more to him than his smug, arrogant exterior. The spark between the two is well-written and, though I would recommend the book for lovers of romcom who don't mind the predictable, it is not for me.

as a survivor of a work place romance, i really enjoyed this book. a fun setting and interesting character development.

A delightful, if predictable story that keeps the reader engaged, with sufficient humour, nostalgia and honesty from the characters that you really do find yourself rooting for a happy ending, even though the leads are slightly irritating.
Definitely a book that if you found on a holiday shelf, you’d be tempted to keep to share with your friends.
Thank you NetGalley and thank you Chloe Ford for a wonderful afternoon of chilled smiling…

Fliss and James are both team leaders in a hospitality company, Fliss in marketing and James in sales, and they despise each other. When the chance of becoming a director comes up, Fliss feels she deserves it because she puts her heart and soul into the company. However, their boss decides the two of them need to get on in order to work for the good of his company and so organises a team building weekend for them - what could possibly go wrong?
I chose this book to make a change from my usual psychological thriller, and was not expecting to absolutely love it! I enjoyed seeing their relationship grow and change as they went through the trials and tribulations of being abandoned in the Scottish highlands, with only £50 between them, some protein bars, a change of clothing, condoms and tampons! It’s chick lit, so it’s not difficult to guess what happens, but it was a fun, light hearted read and I thoroughly recommend it.

Abandoned in the Scottish Highland with nothing but some protein bars, your work enemy and a single tent! A great romance debut from Chloe Ford. It's witty, sweet, sexy and a little bit ridiculous which is just how I like my romcoms. I loved the main characters, both flawed and driven, but not to the degree that made them annoying. The writing was excellent, the dialogue on point and the humour is really well done. Witty banter and tantalising chemistry weaved throughout the book, and the spice level was just right. This is an author that I will be adding to my must read list.

This book was very cute. The tropes abounded throughout the story but that never took away from the overall feeling.
Love. And fun. What more do you need? Oh, yeah. Money.
I'd definitely recommend this book.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thanks to Chloe Ford and Head of Zeus for the #gifted advanced digital copy of this hilarious, chaotic, and delightful enemies-to-lovers rom-com!
Fliss loves her job as head of marketing... even if it often means locking horns with James, the infuriatingly cocky head of sales. After a particularly public (and heated) argument in the conference room, their boss decides a little "team bonding" is in order. Fliss expects a normal corporate retreat. Instead, she and James find themselves stranded on a two-person survival hike in the Scottish wilderness - with a single tiny tent and survival packs packed with hilariously impractical gear.
As injuries, ridiculous challenges, and grudging teamwork force them closer, Fliss and James begin to see each other in a whole new light. The tension shifts from icy glares to slow-burning attraction in a story that’s equal parts outrageous, swoony, and laugh-out-loud funny.
This was such a fun, fast-paced read! I genuinely laughed at the absurdity of the contents of those packs 😂 and loved the slow thaw of their relationship. The post-adventure return to the office action added the perfect payoff without losing the chaotic charm. If you like forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers banter, and slightly unhinged workplace dynamics, you’ll enjoy this one.
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: Grace Calder’s solo narration perfectly captures Fliss’s sass, James’s slow unraveling charm, and the general absurdity of their adventure. At just 7h 8m, it’s a quick, fun listen that keeps the energy high and the banter sparkling!

Work Trip is an engaging and enjoyable novel. I read it right before my first trip to Scotland and the Scottish Highland, where most of the story is set, and it made me even more excited about my holiday. The setting is beautiful and remote, perfect to keep the two protagonists together and isolated from the rest of the world.
The protagonists, James and Fliss, are enemy colleagues, always against each other during the company’s meetings and now on the run for the same promotion. Fliss is determined to get the position of director, after all she’s sacrificed the last six years of her life to this job, spending long hours at the office and giving up on any kind of social life, and James really gets on her nerves, with his perfect hair and perfect suits and his arrogant responses. After yet another animated meeting, their boss organizes a corporate retreat in Scotland. However, when she gets there, Fliss discovers that it’s just for her and James as they are left to survive in the Scottish wilderness with only a tent, two sleeping bags, and an uncomfortable number of condoms and tampons. Forced to work together, Fliss and James start to know each other better and to question their life choices.
I had fun reading this novel. There is quick and witty banter, sexual and romantic chemistry, and a few hilarious adventures and mishaps that make for an easy and entertaining read. And I really liked the character of Fliss. I found her relatable and authentic and, even though she is a bit controlling sometimes, I liked how her character develops throughout the novel.
Work Trip is a fantastic novel full of humour, romance, and charm that makes me look forward to the author’s next novel!

Oh my gosh this was so much fun!!
I was hooked from the first chapter. The sassy banter and the camping vibes haha. So fun!!
Chloe had me dying in this one! I was laughing so much and it was just pure fun!!
The pacing was perfect and the plot.
Definitely will be reading more from Chloe!!!

Work Trip
Chloe Ford
“Go talk to him,”
He frowns. "Why me?"
"You're the salesman. Isn't talking to strangers like your key skill?"
Wow I loved this book. It’s every rom com cliche all rolled into one and with all the appeal. This was a total delight to read and I’m so keen to read anything else by this author.
"Are you a part-time criminal?" I ask.
"I'm in sales, Felicity. Criminality, sales, it's a role cut from the same cloth."
The saying goes; keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Fliss cannot stand her work colleague James. They are heads of their respective departments, namely marketing and sales and they always clash. But when the two leave London and arrive in the Scottish Highlands, they find themselves facing a unique situation; their boss has abandoned them in the middle of nowhere with extremely limited supplies. The pair are forced to put aside their differences to weather the unpredictable elements of the Highlands and get home.
So, let me get this straight," I say, clenching my eyes closed as I exhale slowly. "We've been abandoned in the Scottish Highlands with one tent, two sleeping bags, some empty bottles and a few protein bars, twenty-something condoms and a bottle of lube?"
"And one-hundred and eighty tampons," James
adds helpfully.
Honestly it was a joy to read this fun and happy go lucky story.

Okay this was FUN. You spend most of the book on this hike with these two work colleagues who apparently hate each other but we all know that that won’t last don’t we!? Sexy, funny. I had a GREAT time. Reminded me of The Hating Game by Sally Thorne but also kind of Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry because of the relationship between the protagonist and her Mum. Recommend.

Work Trip by Chloe Ford
For Fliss, the prospect of a team building work trip fills her with dread. Mostly because she cannot stand her pushy colleague James, who often attempts to derail her brilliant plans. But when the two arrive in the Scottish Highlands, they find themselves facing a unique challenge: their boss has abandoned them in the middle of nowhere with only one tent, two sleeping bags and a few protein bars.
Cut off from the outside world, the pair are forced to put aside their differences to weather the unpredictable elements of the Highlands and get home. As they set out on a journey across miles of rugged wilderness – pushing each other to survive and testing their physical and emotional limits – they remain fully aware of their boss’s manipulative plan to orchestrate a hook up between them.
But even with only each other for company, Fliss and James stand firm in their resolve: they won’t give in to any romantic notions. Or will they?

I read an advance copy from Net Galley and Head of Zeus - my thanks to them.
#WorkTrip #ChloeFord

I devoured this book in 24 hours!!!
.
From the first chapter I was hooked! The work enemies storyline, the banter, the chemistry & the chaotic camping (which was giving me serious survivor vibes)
This book was so much fun, I loved the concept & Chloes writing had me laughing and falling in love with these characters! As a corporate girly myself I related soooo much to Fliss! The imagery and references throughout the story were so great and the pace was perfect, the plot never felt rushed and it also never dragged on! The perfect Rom-Com!
A great book for people who like Emily Henry style stories, honestly loved it & excited to see what else Chloe Ford writes!

Happy publication day to Chloe and her debut novel Work Trip 🥳🥳
This book was so much fun! It’s just the right amount of absurd and while still being semi-believable. If you’ve ever been stuck in a corporate setting that didn’t quite feel right or had a job that took just a little too much, you may find something truly satisfying within this story 🥰 this one’s for all the girlies with corporate rage 🫶
Chloe Ford has weaved a narrative that is equal parts about recognising your worth, shifting your perspectives of others, and finding companionship in unexpected places - and it’s truly entertaining throughout.
I’m a sucker for a Scottish landscape (it’s one of my favourite places to travel with my partner) and it provides the perfect setting for the Fliss and James’s friendship to blossom. The wild setting challenges them just as much as their shitty boss and I loved watching it bring them closer together!
The plot isn’t super complex, but honestly, that’s part of the charm. This book gets you giggling, swooning, and ready to burn the corporate world down, all in one go.

Loved the concept, not the characters. While the setting and the adventure was fun, I didn't connect or like any of the characters. And the MCs didn't feel to mesh well. I couldn't see it working.

4/5 Stars!
"Work Trip" by Chloe Ford is a fun rom-com that I could barely put down. Fliss and James are fierce work rivals, unexpectedly stranded in the Scottish wilderness during a team-building exercise. With only one tent, limited supplies, and quick thinking to get them home, they must put aside their professional differences to navigate the challenging but beautiful landscape.
Spice: 🌶️🌶️
Beautiful Scottish Highlands ⛰️
Enemies to Lovers 🙅♂️🙅
Forced Proximity ⛺
Ford's clever dialogue (very back and forth) and the chemistry between the characters make for an excellent read. The vivid descriptions bring the breathtaking Highland scenery to life, and the growing understanding between Fliss and James builds the romantic tension quickly. In my opinion, the turn from enemies to lovers happens quite quickly, but this book is only 200 pages, so it was never going to be a true slow burn. I love that Ford showed that both characters were rightfully annoying to each other and that they both had to grow to be better people.
"Work Trip" is a fun escape for romance lovers who appreciate a mix of humour, adventure, and genuine emotions. It strikes a lovely balance of spice and plot without being too intense. Fans of Emily Henry and Sally Thorne will be excited by this refreshing new voice in the romantic comedy genre.
Thank you to Aria and NeyGalley for providing an eARC in exchange for my honest review.
