This was a cute sports/workplace romance!
I enjoyed Lottie as a FMC, I wish Nolan had a little bit more to him. Their chemistry was okay, but I do feel like the love component was premature and forced - there wasn't really any indication that they were at that confessional step r
This story ended up being quite predictable that a I lost a bit of interest toward the end, but it was light, cute and what I needed to disconnect from reality for a bit!

Another cute romance by Ally.
The banter was bantering. I really enjoyed Lottiea character. I just couldn't connect and got bored around 30% in. I would still recommend this book to my girlies who like a sports romance.

This book was just as good as the first in the series! I love the way that Ally Wiegand writes! I love the effort put into it. I love that the themes go deeper than simple miscommunication. I love the character development. I love the side characters are just as much a part of the book as the main characters. I love how sweet and satisfying the endings are!! Sooo good! Highly recommend. Definitely one of my favorite sports romances!

A wonderful read!
This novel drew me in from the very first page and kept me hooked until the end. The characters were vibrant and relatable, the writing was engaging, and the story had just the right balance of heart and humor. Highly recommend!
Many thanks to NetGalley, the author, and the publisher for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

*Thank you to 8th Note Press and NetGalley for this eARC; the review is my own.*
This book was pretty on par with the first book in the series, though the plot is much more plausible to me. (In the first book, I found it difficult to believe that a team's PR department would devise a whole are relationship between a baseball player and the team photographer as a response to a paparazzi photo that wasn't even scandalous.)
I found myself often frustrated with the lack of communication between Lottie (32, I believe) and Nolan (mid-30s?), as well as their hot-and-cold relationship. However, I did like the two of them together and the way they helped each other face and overcome their challenges. It was also fun to see brief glimpses of Maggie and Tommy from the first book. Olivia, who was one of my favorite characters from the first book, also had a prominent role in this one since she was Lottie's younger sister. Now I'm just waiting to see if she gets her own book, which I think she should.
So why three stars? Honestly, that's not a bad rating to me. I enjoyed the book. It was a fun diversion whenever I picked it up, and the writing was fairly easy to read (I assume any errors/redundancies/confusing wording would have been corrected prior to publishing). I would read future books in the series if they were written. But I didn't find myself thinking about it outside of reading or telling myself "just one more chapter" when it was time to go to bed, which is why it's a 3-star book for me instead of a 4- or 5-star book. Three stars is still good.

Going for Two is book two of the Chicago Heartbreak series but it can be read as a standalone. Football romance readers will enjoy Charlotte and Nolan's story. I really enjoyed this sweet story and I'm excited to go back and read book one.

I LOVED Ally Wiegand’s first novel so I was super excited for this book.
I liked Lottie and Nolan as characters but I felt like their chemistry wasn’t super strong. They still had chemistry but it wasn’t like elephant toothpaste ya know not BAM! I enjoyed their growth.
I just adore Ally’s writing and how she manages to tackle tough situations with grace and care.

Thank you NetGalley and 8th Note Press for the eARC! I loved First Base by Ally Wiegand, and I had high hopes for her sophomore novel. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver for me. The characters were less likable and less developed. The plot wasn’t my favorite either, and it sometimes felt like fanfiction for the Chiefs.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It was a refreshing and captivating experience, and I found the writing to be both engaging and accessible. The story flowed smoothly, making it easy to stay connected to the plot and characters without feeling lost or overwhelmed. The author struck a perfect balance, keeping things interesting while still making the content feel approachable. Overall, it was a wonderful read, and I would definitely recommend it to others who are looking for an enjoyable and easy-to-digest book.

I LOVE Ally’s books!! One of my favorite sport romance writers at the moment. Loved this baseball romance so much!!

The book had potential, it had the makings of a great book - however it fell flat for me,
I personally DNF'd this book, maybe its because I couldn't find their chemistry. However, while it was lacking in chemistry I fell so much for the secondary characters. It just seemed the main characters didn't have the energy I wish they did.

I love a good football romance and this one doesn't disappoint. Both of our main characters, Lottie and Nolan are compelling and interesting in their own ways. This one was a little slow to start but once I kept going it had me kicking my feet and laughing. I loved this light hearted read.

I think I liked Going for Two better than the original one in this series. This was very cute, just like the first book.

Thank you to NetGalley, the author, and the publishing team for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Move a good sports romance, and this wasn’t an exception! It was the perfect book to pick up during the post-season, and I feel like even non sports girlies will like this one.

This was a quick, easy football romance! Women in sports!!! I loved Lottie! She’s hard working, fierce & determined. Nolan’s a softie under the minor grump you get near the beginning. I loved the bucket list & them working through it. Overall fun read if you’re into sports romance
Thank you NetGalley & publisher for an arc! Opinions are honest & my own!

A wonderful blend of humor and passion may be found in the cute football romance Going for Two. Lottie, the main character, is extraordinarily resilient, strong, and hardworking. Although her background is heartbreaking, it's amazing to watch how she changes and grows over the course of the story. I couldn't wait to read this book because I enjoyed the first one in the series so much. Both Nolan and Lottie were interesting characters, and I liked how they connected and managed a romantic relationship at work. They are complete opposites, but they balance each other out well.

Going for Two is book two in the Chicago Heartbreakers series where we follow Lottie and Nolan. Lottie is a doctor for the Chicago Bobcats' players. Nolan is the team's quarterback who got injured and is currently playing his last season. Lottie feels she's missing out on life because she has been career-driven all her life, and Nolan can't process the fact that he's about to retire because the sport was everything he knew. I really liked the plot, but I just didn’t really vibe with the characters.
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, First Base. I wanted to like this more than I did, but everything felt so rushed. I wanted to know the individual characters more but I also wanted to know why the characters were so great. Why did Nolan like Lottie? And vice-versa. I felt like the characters weren’t fleshed out nearly enough.
In First Base, I don’t remember feeling this way, so I’m disappointed that this one did make me feel this way. Unfortunately, I don’t think I will continue with this series as they release.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an early copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Lotti Thompson just landed the job of her dreams as a physical therapist to the Chicago Bobcats. She is amazing at her job and has a proven track record of helping stars recover from potentially season-ending injuries. And she has been around football her whole life, so she also has some good pointers. Nolan Hill is the Bobcat’s star quarterback but he is getting older and after surgery, though he knows he needs Lottie’s help, he is so wrapped up in the possibility of losing his starting position, he is being a bit of an ass. But eventually he realizes life without Lottie is worse than life without football.
I love a sports romance and I am more of a football girlie than a hockey person. Maybe because it all has to do with my deep love of Kristen Callihan’s Game On series, but anytime there is a quarterback in the story, I am all over it. Ally Wiegand’s Going For Two had some of my favorite troupes: sports romance, grumpy hero, workplace drama. It also fits the bills in other ways: two wounded people, trying to overcome past traumas and learning to let themselves be open to love. Plus some excellent secondary characters who I hope will get their own stories.
As the football season comes to an end and you want to hang on to the drama that plays out on Sundays, pick this one up and enjoy.

This was such a fun read! I love sports romances and I think this might be my new fav! I absolutely adored our main characters and their chemistry was palpable. All of the side characters were so fun and really added to the story!

*3.5
I'm so sad because I loved the first book and I wanted to love this one but I just don't. I didn't really feel a connection to the characters. Even though it ended pretty soon I don't think they should've gotten together so quickly.
