If you're into true crime podcasts about serial killers, this a romance you need to read. I mean, serial killers and love go together, right?!?!?!

ALL THE MISSING PIECES follows true crime podcaster Ridley as she goes into a small town searching for answers about her missing sister's case and how it might be connected to a kidnapping from 10 years ago. The only roadblock to Ridley finding the key to the case? Town Sherif Colter who seems keen on running Ridley out of town, along with the mystery suspect. But as things heat up and coincidences don't seem like coincidences anymore, Colter and Ridley team up to hopefully solve the case.

I really enjoyed this one! It definitely had a different feel from Cowles' other books, but i really enjoyed the shakeup. Colter and Ridley have a great enemies to lovers vibe going on from the beginning and I loved how all the townspeople were rooting for them before the pair even noticed their chemistry. I love true crime podcasts and this book reminded me why. There are so many pieces to the puzzle and sometimes you have to look at all the information through a different lens to figure out what you've been missing all along. The one thing that impressed me the most about this book is that I did not guess the suspect and it totally took me by surprise when it was revealed who it was.

Catherine Cowles does it again! All the Missing Pieces is the perfect combination of romance and suspense. I was only a few pages into the prologue when my heart was already in my throat and I badly needed the answers to what had been taking place.

Ridley's twin sister Avery went missing 5 years ago and to numb the pain and support herself, Ridley has become a successful true crime podcaster that solves cases for other families suffering from the pain of losing loved ones without getting answers.

Ridley is a hard-headed heroine and I loved her character so much. She kind of wears her heart on her sleeve but at the same time she's not, it's hard to explain it but you'll understand once you read the book. She's strong and independent, a justice seeker that refuses to give up. Even if she is hurt in the process, she will keep going to assure that no one else gets hurt. She was so selfless and loving, and I felt so strongly for her, needing her to find the answers she was looking for.

Colt, our grumpy sheriff, is naturally hesitant to Ridley when she first arrives to town but it doesn't take long before his closed up heart is opening up for her. Ridley and Colt are total opposites in many ways but their chemistry and banter is PERECTION, and dare I say that they are two puzzle pieces that fit so perfectly together, and they heal each other in ways no one else could ever do <3

Cowles also builds up the small town and the side characters perfectly and I could imagine exactly what it looked like and what each character contributed to its town. Perhaps, we will get a second book with some of these side characters? Here's to hoping.

I was absolutely blown away by this book and I can't wait for its release on January 7, 2025, so everyone else gets to experience the masterpiece that this book is. Thank you so much Catherine Cowles and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the eARC before its release 🥰

This is for you if you love this:

🧩 Grumpy x Sunshine
🧩 Small Town
🧩 Romantic suspense
🧩 True Crime Podcaster x Sheriff
🧩 Three-legged cat

WOW.

Catherine has outdone herself with All the Missing Pieces. I call myself a BIG romance reader and will occasionally read a thriller/suspense. This book literally had the perfect balance of the romance I love (hello hate to love) with a good thriller/suspense component. The true crime podcast made this story that much more fun. I also freaking loved Tater, and her 'tooth hugs'

I had multiple thoughts the entire book about who could be the bad guy and even down to the last few pages before it was revealed I was thinking it was someone else. I was SHOOK.

Ridley and Colt were perfect for each other MCs. What a beautiful love story.

Also, Catherine, can we get an Emerson story? Please???

I REALLY loved this story! Ridley was such a lovable character and Colter wasn't at first but he grew on me. I loved their romance and I loved that they got to catch the bad guy together.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc in exchange for an honest review!

I've loved Catherine Cowles' books for a while now, so I was so excited to read her first traditionally published one. It did not disappoint! I love the way she seamlessly blends romance, mystery and suspense. I hope this is the start of a new series for her because I can't wait to read more.

Catherine Cowles has become one of my favorite authors over this last year. It's not surprising that this was a five star read for me.

Ridley is a podcaster who travels from town to town trying to solve or bring might to murders. After her sister disappeared four years ago, this true crime podcast has become her passion. She finds herself in a small town investigating an attempted abduction that occured 10 years ago. She knows that the welcome mat won't be rolled out, but she doesn't expect the sheriff, Colten Brooks, to be such a grumpy human.

They need each other's help .. but can they trust each other?

I loved Ridley and Colton. They had great banter and personalities. Part of the reason I love Catherine Cowles so much is her mystery component. I had NO idea who the bad guy was. I was completely surprised. I can't wait to read the next book in this series !

Will post review on Instagram soon. Posting on Goodreads now.

Loved this book! It was a great mix of suspense and romance. Ridley was a gutsy, determine character determined to connect multiple missing people cases to a serial killer while also getting rest for her twin sister. Colt was a fiercely loyal character determined to protect his sister from the world as she never recovered from being assaulted and left for dead. Ridley and Colts world collide and slowly they work together and fall in love along the way.

In All The Missing Pieces, CC takes us on a thrilling adventure with Ridley Sawyer as she sets out to not only heal what others have broken but to ultimately find the person responsible for her sister's disappearance. What she ends up finding is Colt-- a grumpy sheriff of the town that it all began.

Catherine never ceases to amaze me with the web she weaves in her novels. I was absolutely floored over this one. Her ability to give you the right amount of spice to suspense is incredible.

While the enemies was strong with this one, it didn't take long for Colt to feel this protection over Ridley. The burn was slow but boy did it deliver. And in true CC fashion, I was on my edge of my seat THE ENTIRE TIME. Anticipating what was going to happen next and looking for any clue I could find as to who the k!ll3r could be.

SPOILER ALERT... I didn't guess correctly. In fact, I was absolutely SHOCKED.

As always, the stars. Infinite. Never ending. Just like my love for this author. 🤭

- true crime podcaster x town Sheriff
- Small town
- Grumpy x sunshine
- Serial ☠️
- Forced proximity
- Enemies with benefits
- Nicknames for each other

Ridley is a true crime podcaster who decides to head out to Shady Grove for her next bit of cold case research. At least, that’s her plan until she immediately has a run in with Colt, the grumpy town sheriff, and they do not get off to a good start.

He soon realizes that Ridley is here specifically to investigate his sister’s disappearance from 10 years ago that he still hasn’t been able to solve which he goes into protective-brother mode and shuts Ridley out even more. Or, at least he tries to…until Ridley gets into some trouble at her camp site leaving her van uninhabitable for the foreseeable future.

“I don’t have a home.” “You’ve got one for now, Chaos.”

“You didn’t have to jump after me.” “Always going to jump after you.”

I am a sucker for anything by Catherine Cowles, but All the Missing Pieces has blown me out of the water. Catherine has such a natural storytelling ability, to write a beautiful romance combines with a suspense filled mystery. The way that she can capture a reader from the beginning, leaving them wondering to the end whodunnit is incredible.
From the very beginning there was a strong connection between Ridley and Colt that was captured and had me as the reader wanting more. Their banter has to be some of my favorite I have ever read. The crazy tension and buildup had me lost in the pages, never wanting to put it down.
Even when the enemies do become lovers, I still couldn’t stop, just wanting to see who the true villain was. After reading every one of Catherine’s books, I am always prepared to expect the unexpected. Once again, I was stumped and left shocked to the end. She has made me a bit of a true crime and mystery fan throughout the years.
I have always loved the way Catherine has written emotionally intense situations. She recognizes the way that people process these moments differently, how familial reactions play a role, and the long term effects. All the Missing Pieces shined so much light into that, from Ridley wanting to live for her and her sister, to Colt being protective and cautious in the wake of tragedy.
This book is on my Top Reads of 2024 list! I absolutely loved reading this story, and could not put it down. Once I became invested, there was no stopping me from pulling an all nighter to find out what happened next.
Thank you especially to Catherine, Sourcebooks Casablanca, and NetGalley for the ARC! I am ever so grateful!

All the Missing Pieces is a fantastic read. I loved this one so much. I could not put this down. You are sucked in from the very start when it comes to Ridley. She is a podcaster set out to find the answers to the missing. You feel for her as the search is close to her heart and leads her to more victims then she thought. Colt is sheriff of his town and so protective of his sister with reason. I love the slow build between Ridley and Colt as they piece together what happened to their sisters and who was behind the missing and murdered. This will pull you in and not let go until the end. Colt is amazing as he lets his protective walls he has for his sister fall. Ridley is so strong and you feel her fall for the town she searches for answers in. You need to meet them today and figure out the who and why. I cannot wait for more to come in the Shady Cove series. Go one click this today.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5

Catherine Cowles does it yet again; every Catherine Cowles book I read is better than the last making my “favorite CC book” change every few months with the newest release. This book is a romantic suspense masterpiece. Initially, I was hesitant to start this book only because this was my first ever ARC read so I was nervous about that responsibility, but oh my was this truly an honor to read. Right off the prologue, I was instantly gripped by the FMC’s tragic story with her twin sister. The magic of Catherine Cowles is she transports you into this amazing small town worlds and makes you feel like Nancy Drew. A quarter in, I thought I had the culprit and was a bit disappointed that it was “so easy to guess” as I was so sure that little clues were pointing to my first suspect as the book continued. Then 84% in, I doubted my primary guess as, again, it couldn’t possibly be that easy; so, I picked a second guess I was so sure of. Then, a chapter later, when the climax was starting, I went back to my first pick. Nothing could’ve prepared me for when the real culprit was revealed— I would have never guessed! And THAT is why Catherine is a genius.

The mystery storyline took center stage, and gripped me in for majority of the book as the romance slowly developed; but honestly, I didn’t even need the romance because I was so invested in the main and side characters. Don’t worry though, the romance doesn’t disappoint. Not only is this book more spicy than some of her other works (a little kinky🍑🌶️), but the transcendent bond of our MCs Ridley and Colt healing their traumas together is immensely beautiful. ❤️‍🩹

My other favorite things about this book were the underlying topic of animal rights and healthy eating. Celia is my spirit animal! I also went to a Thai restaurant and ordered extra tofu because of Ridley. I would gladly accept a tooth hug from Princess Tater.

If you want an immersive murder mystery in a loving NoCal small town with sizzling and healing romance, this should be your next read! It might also make you want to buy a camper bus and/or adopt a pet.

I am such a Catherine Cowles fan so I was thrilled to receive this ARC! I am a sucker for all podcast related storylines and this one delivered. I loved Ridley’s determination, sass, and empathy. She was a great FMC. I didn’t love the relationship between the FMC and MMC. I almost wish they hadn’t been “enemies with benefits” because I felt that cheapened their connection. I also loved Emerson’s character and hope we get to see more from her. Overall, this was a hit!

As a lover of all things true crime podcasts I devoured this book! Ridley and Colt had me laughing, swearing, and on the edge of my seat. I loved the characters and the friendships Ridley made in her small town adventure. There was enough suspense that kept me turning the page and in usual Catherine fashion, my jaw DROPPED at the reveal. 15/10, my new favorite Catherine book!

This book was absolute perfection, beginning to end!!
I was caught into the mystery from the get go. I felt like I wanted to start one of those who-done-it walls with names and information put up so I could keep track of who I thought was the bad guy (however, I still dont think I would have guessed correctly haha).

Ridley shows up in the small town of Shady Cove for her podcast - a serial true crime podcast where she digs into cold cases in hopes of finding those responsible and bringing justice to the families who desperately want closure. Upon arriving, she has a run in with the too hot for his own good Sheriff who is less than pleased with her arrival - especially when he realizes exactly why she is in their small town. And how it directly effects both him and those he loves. But what he doesn't know is the real reasons for why Ridley is searching for answers - and the way this all effects her as well! However, what will happen as her digging for information brings the killer out from hiding and it will effect not just those who are victims already - but maybe even her also? And what will Colt, the Sheriff, do when he realizes she is so much more than the pesky podcaster searching for answers?

I truly loveddddd the dynamic between Ridley and Colt, as well as the entire town. The process of them going from strangers, to hating each other, to FWB, to so much more - it was perfection. It made me want to never put the book down, because I just needed more and more and more. All the way until the very end, when my face was streaked with tears and my heart was so full!!
I have read so many Catherine Cowles books, and this one felt so special in such a new way and truly may be one of my most favorite of all time!

I was lucky enough to score an early ARC copy of this book from NetGalley. I say this every damn time that Catherine does not miss in any book she writes. This story was a true crime podcaster looking for answers in a small town and putting the pieces together of the all the missing girls, including her twin sister Avery. It’s a heartbreaking, beautiful story with love and spice! Colt was the golden retriever sheriff who was a tortured soul due to his little sister Emerson getting abducted but then escaping and he had a whole lot of guilt. Ridley was a sassy take no bullshit FMC and she did kick ass and take names. She was on a mission to help the missing girls be found and closure brought to their families, including her own. It was a beautiful ending that was peaceful. I wouldn’t mind another book in this even though it is listed as a standalone. I need more! I need Trey and Emersons’s story!!

Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks for this arc in exchange for an honest review!

A laugh burst out of me, the last sound I was expecting. "Is it fitting that I'm laughing and crying when I've told you I love you?"
He pulled me into him. "Baby, you're chaos. Of course it is."

4.5 stars

I absolutely DEVOURED this.

This book was exactly what I needed after some slightly disappointing books, and romantic suspense is usually a homerun for me, ESPECIALLY when it's Catherine Cowles.

Ridley was a pretty good FMC. She was really smart, empathetic, and treated her job with care and grace. She didn't take shit from anyone and let the MMC have it several times, which I really enjoyed. Wasn't super sold on her nickname for him, but what can you do.

But I super loved Colt's nickname for her. Chaos 😂I think Colt is a little more gruffer than CC;s previous MMC's, but with a lot of good reason. But I liked seeing his character development once Ridley was there to pull his head out of his ass.

And I enjoyed the storyline as well. Sometimes in CC books there can be a lot of different storylines going against the main protagonists and so it can get overwhelming, but this one I think dialed that back and bit and made it more centralized.

And ho boy I cannot wait for Trey and Emerson 😍

All the Missing Piece by Catherine Cowles
This was a 4

Catherine Cowles once again delivers a captivating tale with All the Missing Pieces. Honestly she is the master at intricate plots and unexpected twists! I swear she just picks the most out their twist and THEN writes the book around that haha.

I loved the FMC, Ridley. I found her to be resilent, caring and a little stubborn haha. At times I was like oh please make smart choices and be safe - but those were few and far between. She thankfully didn’t act like a “white girl in a horror movie” (come on, you know exactly what I am talking about hahaha). Unfortunately, the MMC, Colter, falls short. He is the first Cowles man I haven’t fawned over. His repeated missteps and questionable behavior hinder his character development, making him unlikable for me. I maybe an judging him harshly, but I was disappointed that he didn’t seem to grow and kept making the same asshole moves over and over.

The story is amazing though and I loved found family aspect that is always so integral to Catherine’s stories.
Despite Colter, All the Missing Pieces is a solid addition to Cowles’s impressive body of work. The suspenseful storyline and surprising revelation of the villain made it more than worthwhile!

This story completely consumed me. Catherine has this magical way of capturing the human experience in all of its rawness while providing levity with the wonderful side characters, shout out to Tater, love you Princess Tater.

I feel like All The Missing Pieces was a love letter to grief and all of its complexities.

Ridley has dedicated the past four years to helping people find peace through her true crime podcast. And she's tried to live life to the fullest and for herself and her sister.

Colt has dedicated his life to serving and protecting and ultimately trying to make up for not being there for his sister when she needed him most. And one woman has the power to upend his world.

The way Colt and Ridley understand each other is on a molecular level, they've both experienced trauma and grief, and I think that's initially why they butt heads. But you can feel the sparks from their first meeting.

And in a shocking turn of events ---no spoilers--- I was wrong...again.
