I Really enjoyed this one! Can’ never go wrong with a KL Slater book. This one had me on my toes the whole time. With a great ending twist.

Reading a book by K. L. Slater is always a pleasure for me- and I have read many of them!

She knows how to get you engaged and it always feels like coming home to me when I dive into one of her stories! Who knows how she always manages to come up with these ideas! Sometimes I find myself thinking that it is a bit too much but in the end I am always happy in the end!

Thank you #NetGalley #Bookouture for this ARC

The Married Man has multiple narrators/storylines to start: Liv, whose husband Rich disappears and is left to raise her son Maddox, and Katie, who’s pregnant and married to Daniel. Normally I like multiple narrators but I found it hard to differentiate between Liv and Katie for some reason. The plot was okay, but I feel like not much happened? And the stuff that did happen seemed a bit extreme. I don’t know, something just didn’t work about this for me.

Thanks to NetGalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review!

Another great tale with plenty of twists from K.L Slater. Maybe a little bit far fetched, but still a very enjoyable read. A great mix of characters and a good pace that makes you want to keep reading.

I have always enjoyed K.L Slater's books and I can't wait for the next!

I absolutely adored The Married Man. I have read a lot of books by K.L Slater and all have been fantastic.

The Married Man was packed full of twists and turns, secrets and lies and I just could not put it down, so I didn't, and it kept me up reading late into the night.

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for my ARC.

I’m normally a massive KL slater fan. However this book felt rushed and totally unrealistic.

Only picked up the pace towards the end of the book.

Hopefully her next book will be back to the five stars

Another twisty tale by KL Slater. I was griped by the characters right away and the plot was fast paced.

I felt the story was a bit unbelievable at times, which was hard to relate to.

A solid 3 stars from me.

Thanks again NetGalley for the advanced copy.

This is a far fetched book told in the past and present about a father who went missing and then their lives in the present day, very far fetched, unrealistic but a very good read and I really enjoyed it!!!

K.L. Slater’s The Married Man is a dark and gripping psychological thriller that keeps readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. With its intense plot, well-crafted characters, and a series of shocking twists, Slater delivers a suspenseful and addictive story that will leave readers eagerly turning the pages.

The novel centers around the unraveling of a seemingly perfect marriage as secrets, lies, and hidden truths come to light. Slater expertly navigates the complexities of the characters’ emotions, motivations, and the intricate dynamics of their relationships, creating a tense atmosphere that builds throughout the book. As the story progresses, the stakes get higher, and the suspense intensifies, leaving readers wondering what will happen next.

One of the standout features of The Married Man is its pacing. Slater keeps the plot moving at a fast, steady pace, with the suspense escalating gradually, drawing the reader deeper into the mystery. The tension never lets up, and the twists come at just the right moments, keeping the story fresh and unpredictable. The character development is strong, and the protagonist's internal struggles and emotional conflicts are both believable and compelling, making it easy to connect with her on a deeper level.

The psychological aspects of the novel are well-executed, and the way Slater portrays the complexities of the marriage—especially the lies and manipulation—is masterful. The heart-stopping twist at the end is undoubtedly the highlight of the book, providing a jaw-dropping revelation that will leave readers stunned and questioning everything they thought they knew about the characters.

While the twists are impressive, at times, the pacing can feel a bit rushed in certain parts, with some events happening rapidly, which may leave readers wishing for a bit more depth or build-up in those moments. Additionally, some of the characters’ actions can feel predictable, but the overall enjoyment of the book and the thrill of the plot make up for these minor shortcomings.

In conclusion, The Married Man is a psychological thriller that delivers on its promise of suspense, shocking twists, and an unputdownable reading experience. K.L. Slater’s ability to build tension and surprise readers with unexpected turns makes this a thrilling ride from start to finish. While a few moments might feel predictable or rushed, the overall intensity of the story and the mind-blowing twist ensure that this is a memorable and highly entertaining thriller.

I really enjoyed this read. A really strong mix of characters, whom I liked and disliked. Liv was someone that for the most part I felt sorry for, when her husband disappeared and she struggled alone with her son Maddox. Maddox is a typical teenager, but my word he was so gullible and naive and trusting of the very people he shouldn’t be.
I liked Kait more so, especially when it seems like she has been lied to for so long.

It was a very twist and turn plot, with many unexpected turn ups. The ending was sad, but poetic.

Apologies for late review I thought I had sent it!

K.L. Slater continues to write the most amazing books. The Married Man did it again for me and I read it over a couple of days, another thoroughly enjoyable read. I have read all of her books and I’m looking forward to the next one.

I have loved KL Slaters books from the start, they were like a breath of fresh air, however I did not find this book as gripping or as interesting as her earlier work. It had lots of twists and turns and some things just did not ring true. This was not KL Slater at her best.

Oh wow, what a terrific story. So twisty and so addictive I was glued to my kindle trying to finish it as I was desperate to find out the ending. I felt so sorry for the wife, what a shock. Worth five stars or more. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

4.5 stars.

I really enjoyed this book and absolutely flew through it within 2 days.

The chapters were short which I love, and the writing was so gripping (as usual, for this author).

I was so hooked even after just reading the first few chapters. The ending had me absolutely shook and I’d never expected it to end the way it did, revealing a certain person as the one who was behind everything that was going on. The way that the book wrapped up was satisfying and as close to a happy ending as you can get, with a thriller book.

I’d really recommend this book as well as this author’s books in general, there hasn’t been a singular book I’ve read by her which I haven’t enjoyed!

Having read this author before I would say this of a similar vein - an easy read, nothing ground breaking but solid enough plots, characters etc, a bit of suspence. Do you have to suspend belief...yes..but isn't that why it is fiction!

The Married Man is about Richard Askew and his wife Olivia/Liv. He becomes friends with a rich investor who is living the life he wants. When he gets himself in over his head, he has to come up with a plan so that he doesn't have to let his wife know how much financial trouble they are in.
SPOILER ALERT
Rich turns out to be Daniel, who is remarried with a new baby on the way. When he loses a piece of paper with crucial info on it, this leads his new wife to discover his past life.
The pieces started falling into place for me midway through, but it is still worth the listen. Overall, the narrator does a decent job with the main character voices.
