**Review for *Deja Brew* by Celestine Martin (Audiobook Edition)**
*Deja Brew* is like your favorite latte—warm, a little magical, and impossible to resist. Celestine Martin serves up romance with a dash of witchy charm, and the narrator’s cozy, enchanting voice makes it all the sweeter. Perfect for anyone who believes love (and coffee) can fix almost anything.

I will scream it from the rooftops, Deja Brew is a must read for every romcom lover. Celestine did an incredible job pulling you into the story and keep you turning pages until the HEA at the end.
Audio review: The narrator did a fantastic job and I highly recommend any book narrated by Marissa Hampton and Christopher Hampton! They truly brought the characters and story to life.

I did enjoy the story itself. The pacing felt different for the narrators however. It felt like the female narrator was speaking 1.25x faster than the male narrator and there were a lot of random pauses 10 secs or so that made the listening awkward at times. The male narrator performance was perfect and helped me really fall into the MMC world and freya grove. The female narrator unfortunately with the pacing and pronouncing some words made it hard to follow.

I was really looking forward to Deja Brew by Celestine Martin. I really enjoyed Watchful Thinking, the first in the Elemental Love series of stand-alones. In Deja Brew, Sirena is a kitchen witch whose powers are on the fritz. This was a super slow burn between Sirena and Gus.
I listened to Deja Brew as an audiobook and found this one to be just okay - definitely not one of my top reads of 2024, but a cute witchy read with lots of fall vibes.

I felt that this book was a bit childish, and I was not able to connect with the two main characters. Because of this, it really took me out of the story and the narrator was OK, but it didn’t really help for me to be able to connect with the characters much more, so it was hard for me to get through. I would recommend this personally as a full read, but I would go in without warning to my audience.

When I requested this book I did not realize it was the third in a series. With that being said, I was able to follow along enough in the story. Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I had a hard time being pulled in and wasn't loving the narrator.

Okay so little error on my part was reading this without realizing it’s the third in the series. I don’t think they have to be read in order but it definitely helps with a lot of the characters if you have the backstory to go along with it!
I enjoyed the magical parts of this book! The turning back the month is so relatable lol, I feel like everyone would like to do that at least once in a while. I also appreciated the fact that she forced herself out of her comfort zone and you really see her grow.
It’s also an interesting thing to consider if a few small choices can change the rest of your life. She wasn’t even on Gus’s radar during the first October.
I found the main couple to be cute too! I was absolutely routing for them the whole time!

Because this book is already out, I cannot properly give an advanced review for people to determine if they want to buy this.

3.5⭐️
Deja Brew centres around kitchen witch Sirena, who, after suffering the loss of her grandmother, can’t seem to find her kitchen groove. And Gus, former big time magician and reality tv star turned quiet town historian. Both are struggling to find their sense of self after big changes…when Sirena wishes she could do October over.
I'm not sure what I expected but this book was WAY more cosy fantasy than I was anticipating. Set in an entirely fantasy world, inside our world, where witches marry mermaids, gnomes cause havoc and stage magicians do real magic, the time travel plot of this book seemed the least of the wackiness.
While I had a hard time buying in, I think this one had me invested overall. I think it would appeal to anyone who wanted a Halloween read without the scare factor. It really tries to centre the character’s emotional lives but at its heart kinda wants to be a smutty little romance. Unfortunately, for me, I would have preferred to explore the inner lives of these characters more. Having said that, I am a sucker for a nerdy leading man and Gus fits that bill. I will definitely be recommending it next spooky season!

was a cute fall read! It has alternating pov, small town, witchy/paranormal vibes, slow burn romance with fall vibes and some steam! An enjoyable book to read this fall. The third and final book in the Elemental Love series and I think it concluded the series quite well.

I enjoyed this one. I liked how it was a time loop, but it repeated a whole month, rather than a day multiple times. It gave the character time to really make changes, and make small corrections as needed.
Overall a fitting conclusion to the trilogy.

Thank you netgalley for the AAC.
Unfortunately this narrator was not for me. I chose to discontinue my listening journey fairly early for a number of reasons. 1. Their cadence did not hold my attention. 2. The storyline was not very original. I hope I can revisit this author's stories again in the future.

So cuuuute! Even though it took me so long to pick this one up and we’re basically already heading into Winter, this was such a cozy Autumn read. I can definitely see myself reading this again next October. I really enjoyed the characters and the storyline. Sirena and Gus were super cute together. This Groundhog Day style romance left me giggling so much. It was such a cute mix of romance, magic, and a dash of spice.
I hadn’t read the previous books but this worked well as a standalone. There were a very small details that tripped me up, but they didn’t impact my reading. I really enjoyed the audio. I can’t wait to go back to book one and dive into the other couples. Thank you so much to Forever for the copy of this audiobook!

Such a cute, fun romance! I will definitely be checking out more from Celestine Martin and encouraging my collection development librarian to order the rest of this series ASAP. I loved Serena and Gus--their romance was so adorable and wholesome and supportive and very much romance #goals. And I especially loved all the magic and world-building in the book that still left it feeling relatable and totally at home with other contemporary romances; the mentions of merfolk and gnomes and a host of other magical beings and happenings didn't take away from the book's cozy, contemporary feel at all and instead added a fun, extra little twist on top. And extra kudos to the audio narrators who were both fabulous. I'm so glad I got to listen to this book; it was such a fun, uplifting read and really hit the spot. I definitely recommend this to all the romance fans out there.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me early access to a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Such a cute little autumn read!! Loved how the narrators brought this magical story to life, perfect for people who love a good crisp autumnal morning.

If you're in the mood for cosy fall vibes with a side of magical romance, then this is the audiobook for you!

I think I’m broken. This book was billed as a cozy, seasonal romance with a bit of spice… a no brainer. I should have loved it, but sadly I didn’t. It had all the elements; a small town, a heroine looking to change her life, a hero afraid to love again after heartbreak and a few random wishes. ALSO… all the romance girlies raved about it. Still it didn’t quite land for me. It was cute, but a little too cute.
It felt like Celestine Martin created issues for the heroine as way to force character development. I found myself rolling my eyes repeatedly every time the couple interacted. This is NOT the feeling I want to have while reading a romance. I liked that Martin added some whimsical elements with magic and fairytale creatures, but it couldn’t save the story.
To be fair, I think I am the odd person out. I believe there is an audience out there that will love this book; especially for those who enjoy cozy romance.

Okay, I might be late to the pumpkin-spice-everything party, but Deja Brew still delivered those cozy fall vibes—with a side of magic and a sprinkle of spice that made it oh-so-enjoyable.
Let’s be real: was I here for the plot? Not really. Do I care? Also no. Because the real MVP of this book was the spice, and Celestine Martin knows how to serve it up hot. Sirena and Gus have a sizzling chemistry that had me rooting for them from the moment they crossed paths in this Groundhog Day-style October. Every flirty encounter, tasting menu date, and magical experiment added just the right amount of heat to their budding romance.
Sirena is a mess—but a lovable one. Between her wonky cooking powers and disastrous Halloween party moments, she’s chaotic but charming. And Gus? The guy is like a walking cinnamon latte: warm, comforting, and secretly spicy. Their dynamic was fun, even if the plot sometimes felt like it was meandering through a pumpkin patch.
Would I have liked a bit more clarity in the magical stakes or the overall storyline? Sure. But honestly, I was too busy enjoying the romance to care all that much. This book is perfect for anyone who just wants to wrap themselves in a cozy blanket, sip some apple cider, and enjoy a steamy, whimsical love story.
Final thoughts: Is this book deep? Not really. Is it fun? Absolutely. If you're in the mood for something light, spicy, and a little bit magical, Deja Brew will warm you right up.

This is the third in a series of standalone romances that follow the women of the Caraway family. DEJA BREW focuses on ex-chef Sirena Caraway and magician-turned-historian Gus Dearworth. The characters are likable and the town adorable, but I somehow wanted a bit more from the story. Also note that this is the spiciest of the three books so far. Still, this is a fun, cozy, and magical fall read.

😘 Thanks to the amazing @ReadForever team for the advance listener copy of this fun fall book. All opinions are my own.

This was fine. A decent listen. Total fall vibes if that is what you are looking for. A nice little ditty that entertained. I wanted to like it more but I couldn't get into the audio as much as I wanted to. Perhaps if I had read it with my eyes first?
