I had heard that Fishwife was doing a cookbook and I am here for it.

I love their colorful packaging and the book is just as colorful and whimsical.

I will eat every single one of these recipes. My Norwegian Grandmother introduced me to tinned fish and I’ve never looked back. The memories of my dad and I grabbing a few tins and a sleeve of crackers and headed to the beach to fish.

I am never without a few tins on the boat or kayak. They are just good straight out of the tin or all dressed up with some good sea salt, rye bread, olives and pickles.

Just looking at the cover makes me smile.

A beautiful cookbook full of amazing recipes! I've been a fan of Fishwife for a while now and when I heard they were making a cookbook I knew it was something I needed to get my hands on! I was lucky enough to get an ARC from Netgalley so I'll be satisfied until it comes out and I can get my hands on a physical copy.

This cookbook is broken up into different sections for different meals and events. Every chapter features beautiful illustrations in the fishwife art style and every recipe and a mouthwatering photo of that dish. I haven't tried all the recipes yet, but I did make the mac and cheese and let me tell you it was amazing! I for one can't wait for this cookbook to come out!

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Harvest for an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this S-ARC.

If you think of tuna casserole or sandwiches when you hear the words tinned fish, then this book is for you. I am familiar with the Fishwife brand and have enjoyed their products but never dived into incorporating tinned fish into cohesive dishes. This book has a lot of recipes, and I really enjoyed the single-page features of various parings for their tinned fish options. I am looking forward to trying the avocado and radish toast recipes this weekend. Most of these recipes are very simple and would be easy to create for cooks of any skill level. I liked the illustrations and how they stayed true to Fishwife’s branding style. The way they chose to sort the chapters was very cute as well. My only critique for this book is that the photography could be improved on. Many of the photos lacked the depth and contrast that make you want to dive into the plates of food. Overall though, this book is effective in helping people realize that tinned fish has many uses and varieties, from salmon to octopus.

EDIT 10/21: Since writing this review I have made both the sardine avocado toast recipe and the anchovy radish toast. They were divine! I now have either of them as my mid-morning snack most days. The simple avocado toast is elevated to something spectacular with the addition of sardines, and the balance of flavors and textures is perfect. I will be trying more recipes from this book after how much I enjoyed these.

I will be posting my Goodreads review closer to the publishing date.

As someone recently converted to tinned fish, largely thanks to Fishwives's social media recipes, this was exactly what I was looking for!
I can't wait to buy a physical copy for myself and to go through and try all these recipes!

Helping to remove the stigma of tinned fish, this book is filled with tasty looking recipes. While they do list their own brand of tinned fish, I was able to use other brands to create delicious food. Add in some amazing and colorful art, and you have a great cookbook addition to any kitchen.

I LOVE Fishwife tinned fish products, so I was so excited to get a chance to review the cookbook! I really like the way the book is organized. The recipes are so yummy – simple, quick eats and also more special meals for company, parties, and picnics. The book itself is so quirky and cute – just like the tins of fish. I love the illustrations – so fun. The infographics are also a really great touch and super helpful – they really make this book a standout. This will be such a great addition to anyone’s shelf and also would make a really fun gift to give with some tins of fish and other provisions.

I received an e-copy of this book for free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This cookbook is incredibly niche and weird, and the illustrations give me Strega Nona vibes, whom I would give my life for. So clearly I'm a fan. Do I buy tinned fish? Rarely. Have I heard of Fishwife? I don't think so. But I'm hooked 🤣

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC. This is a great cookbook. My boyfriend and I made several thing out of it this week and loved them all.

Both the illustrations and the photos in this book are phenomenal. I cannot wait to try some of the recipes. I especially enjoy the variety of vegetables used in this book. I will be purchasing this as a gift for a family member who loves tinned fish.
