what do you get when you add a touch of second chance, a bit of enemies to lovers, some simmering passion, a healthy dose each of suspicion, mystery and magic? you get Eternal Magic, the 3rd book in the Magic for Hire series. while I read the prior books, I believe this one could be read as a stand alone (though i do recommend the prior books). The story focuses on Maya and Ravyr with little outside intervention as they look to uncover who may be trying to kill one, or both, of them and what, what, if anything, it all has to do with their shared past. This one a little more self contained, the action more mental/intellectual than physical so that there is almost a sense of maturity in the story plot -- all in all the story reflects the main characters themselves -- calm, calculated on the surface but with hidden depths of power, passion, and strength. We get to learn some of the answers to questions from prior books about Maya's past and why dislikes/distrusts vampires so much, also how she came to gain her mysterious "benefactor". I enjoyed Maya & Ravyr's interactions, working together reluctantly at first and developing into a true team together, slowly opening up and sneaking through each others walls.

This is the third book in the Magic for Hire series. The thing I like about this series is that they are interconnected standalone so you don’t necessarily have to read previous books to read the most recent one. This book follows Maya who is another mage and friends with Peri (from the first book). A figure from Maya’s past may or may not be back from the dead. Maya needs to figure out if they are alive while trying to not die in the process. This book is an easy magic realism read where you don’t have think too hard and just enjoy the story! Also I cannot wait to see where the next story goes with the two characters that it’ll hopefully follow !

I wasn't sure how much I would like this book because Maya was so strict and closed off. This really takes the reader behind the curtain to why Maya is the way she in (plus her frenemy relationships with Joe and Tia). She was more stand-offish that I would have preferred, but she wasn't stuck standing stubborn either. She went along with Ravyr, even if it was baby steps.
I hope the thread left for a bonus book happen because I am so excited to read about that pairing.

This is a book filled with intrigue, twists and betrayal. Maya's life is full of contradictions. Joe is certainly a mystery. A powerful one. He pops up all over the place. With Ravyn and Tia's arrival all Hell in the form of Batu erupts. I fell into this book and cheerfully stayed. Truthfully I didn't want it to end.

After reading the first two books in the series, I was on tenterhooks waiting for Maya's story. Maya's story surpasses my expectations and give us an exciting finish to the trilogy though perhaps the author isn't done with this world and there are more stories to tell if the supporting characters have their say.
Maya is lonely now that her two apprentices have both found their HEA's even if they are both mated to powerful vampires. As Maya looks into the possibility of bringing in a new apprentice, she is drawn into the city and almost pulverized by a bomb intended for her. Her savior is someone from her past, whom she thought long dead but as it turns out he's alive and well and on assignment from the vampire council.
Ravyr and Maya team up together as they go in search of the echo of the magic that Ravyr sensed when the bomb was exploded but originally when Maya won her freedom from the vampire Batu who had once kept her his prisoner. With a colorful cast of goblins, demons, witches, vampires, mages and even a necromancer the story takes readers on a thrilling ride of magic and mayhem.

I absolutely have loved this series as it’s developed! I truly enjoy the magic and characters interactions!

Great addition to the series! I would be happy if we ended here. Maybe there is more to come in this world?
Maya has been the mother figure for the other 2 mages in the series. Now it is here time to shine. We get her whole story. Her enemy/lover form a long time ago shows up alive--very undead as she last thought he was. Rayvr has come back to set some things right. One of those is the way he and Maya parted.
Together they take on the bad guys. SO much action in this one. Lots of different scenery. They have to work together to take down the enemy trying to destroy their world.
Great fast moving story!

Loved reading the mesmerizing and spellbinding paranormal story. When Maya’s life is in danger, Ravyr, a vampire, Maya thought was dead saves her life. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read engaging story. Can’t wait to read the next story by the amazing and awesome author, Alexandra Ivy!

Eternals Magic🪄
Eternal Magic is the next book in the Magic for Hire series and is just as good as the previous two books❣️
We learn more about the mage, Maya, and her past - but we also discover there’s a new threat to the Gyre and when she spots a face she hasn’t seen in 4 decades, believing that person dead…it opens up a whole other can of worms.
Rayvr has been moving from Gyre to Gyre trying to discover the magic he once felt decades ago. With no clear answer, other than it’s now in New York - he stumbles across Maya, the mage he let go after his mission, who he hasn’t seen in 40 years. But it soon becomes clear, that their attraction and chemistry is still at an all time high🤩
We learn more about the mysterious benefactor and a hint to a possible new book🙌 Can’t wait…I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: there are authors I forget how much I love them until I read another book by them. This is one such author. I dived in, and I was immediately taken away to this world full of action and suspense. I am so glad we go to see Maya’s POV for this latest, and we got to see her past and how she got to where she is now. I also liked her love interest, but maybe not quite as much as the other two MCs from the other two books. This was a non-stop action, well-written, and thoroughly engaging book, and I can’t wait to read the next one. I hope this series continues for a while! Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

3.25 ⭐️
🔮✨ Coffee, vampires, and trouble brewing. ☕
(I know, that was super clever..get it...because Maya owns a coffee shop?)
This was fast-paced, action-packed, and surprisingly easy to follow despite being the third book in a series. Maya Rosen runs a coffee shop and has enough on her plate without her undead ex, Ravyr, walking back into her life. But here he is, just in time for the chaos!
The writing is simple and straightforward—don’t expect flowery prose or vivid imagery here. What kept me going was the pacing and the seamless way all the plot threads tied together by the end. Honestly, the ability to interweave such an intricate plot while keeping it standalone-friendly is impressive. That said, the story never fully hooked me emotionally, though I can’t fault its momentum.
I did enjoy seeing the dynamic between Maya and her witchy frenemy, Tia, who is primed by the end of the book to be the next FMC in the series (maybe?).
If you’re looking for something quick and entertaining with a solid mix of action, magic, and romance, this will do the trick. Light on the heart, heavy on the action.
✔️ Witches & Vampires
✔️ Urban Fantasy
✔️ Part of a series, can be read as a standalone
✔️ Fated Mates
✔️ Reluctant Allies-to-Lovers (While not outright enemies, there’s a lot of friction and mistrust between the leads before they reconcile)
✔️ Some Spice 🌶️ (explicit content, but not a lot - just a few scenes)

Eternal Magic by Alexandra Ivy is a captivating tale of romance.
Ivy’s storytelling shines with vivid descriptions and complex characters, keeping you hooked from start to finish. The romance is intense, filled with passion and heart-stopping moments, while the plot delivers plenty of twists to keep you guessing.
For fans of paranormal romance and magical adventures, Eternal Magic is a thrilling escape into a world where love and power collide. Be prepared for a fast-paced, emotional ride that leaves you eager for more.

Eternal Magic is the third book in Alexandra Ivy's Magic for Hire series. Maya is a sort of matriarch of the mages and came across as a bit bitter in the earlier books. However, once her background is explored, her feelings become understandable. She is a good and noble person who fights for those she loves. Her chemistry with Ravyr is fantastic and the mystery they solve is fascinating. I only wish her proteges had played more of a part in the story but here's hoping they will reappear in the next book.

A fantastic next chapter in the Magic for Hire series!
Maya, for very good reason, does not like vampires. But Ravyr always had a part of her heart. Imagine her surprise when the vampire isn't dead like she had assumed all these years. The chemistry between these two was palpable and I was hooked from the beginning to follow them on their hunt to discover who blew up an underground fighting ring.
I'm so glad this series seems to be continuing - can't wait for the next installment.

A huge thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and Alexandra Ivy for providing me with an ARC of Eternal Magic in exchange for my honest review.
Eternal Magic is the third installment in Alexandra Ivy's Magic for Hire series. Despite not having read the previous two books, I found it easy to follow the story, which speaks to Ivy’s skill in crafting an accessible and engaging narrative.
The story centers on Maya Rosen, a formidable mage who runs a mage-for-hire business out of a coffee shop in New York City. Maya is a force to be reckoned with—her reputation precedes her, and the supernatural beings that populate the city, from mages to vampires and demons, are wise to tread carefully around her.
Quotes like, “Only a fool would underestimate Maya Rosen and the damage she would do to keep her friends and family safe. A dead fool,”; “Her sense of justice demanded vengeance” and “This woman had carved out her place in this dangerous city, and the demons understood the cost of challenging her” capture her essence perfectly. Maya’s sense of justice, paired with her strength and determination, makes her a compelling and layered protagonist.
The story kicks off with an attempt on Maya’s life, which brings her face-to-face with Ravyr, a powerful vampire tied to her tragic past. The plot is fast-paced, unraveling as Maya and Ravyr join forces to uncover the culprit behind the attack.
One of the standout aspects of the book for me was watching Maya’s cold, ruthless exterior soften as her relationship with Ravyr deepens. Their chemistry is undeniable, and Ivy does a fantastic job of portraying their mutual respect and growing affection. Both characters are equally powerful, yet their dynamic feels balanced and natural. Ravyr’s unwavering dedication to Maya adds a layer of intensity and romance to the story.
Memorable lines from Ravyr, such as “Nothing would have stopped him from getting her to safety”; “The only place I have to be is where you lead me,” and “I couldn’t bear to live in a world where you didn’t exist,” highlight the depth of his feelings and his willingness to protect her at all costs, even when she insists she doesn’t need saving.
The book’s pacing kept me hooked from the first page, and the spice scenes are well-written, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the story. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed Eternal Magic and can’t wait for the next installment in the series.

Enemies to Lovers is written oh so well! Also, second chance romance, in a way. The tension in this book was *chef's kiss* you could feel it through the pages! I highly recommend picking up this book or any from this series!

Eternal Magic by Alexandra Ivy
This is the third book in a Trilogy. At times, I felt like I needed to play “catch up” because I was missing a lot of Maya’s backstory. It seemed to take forever (40% of book) to get any of Maya’s past and, not having read the other books, I didn’t know if the previous books told some of it.
As the MC, Maya’s attitude of superiority and her discriminatory/racist attitude to other magical beings really made me dislike her. She came across as arrogant, aloof, elitist and entitled and yet those are the exact things that she had disdain for regarding the vampires. Ravyr, our vampire hero, I liked somewhat better.
The plot had alot of promise and I did speed through the story so I could see the end. But, all in all, this story was not for me…Too much description during heightened action which then slowed things down; a “love” story which interfered when they were in danger; a heroine who despises vampires but then wants one romantically; an arrogant heroine who despises arrogance in others….
It’s hard for me to truly like a story when I don’t really like the main character. So 3Stars from me on this advanced reader copy.

I loved this book it is so action packed with so excellent twists and turns that i didn't see coming. I enjoyed the storyline and Maya's love of helping mages learn the craft I also enjoyed Ravyr love for maya, the characters are well developed and I truly hope that she writes Tia's book I think it would be awesome.

Wow this is another great in the series, this series just gets better and better. Alexandra always manages to capture your interest and pull you into the book and he storyline. I will always auto buy an Ivy book because I know I am getting quality writing, amazing storylines and characters that grow and yet are realistic. I can't wait for book 4

4.5 - I have been honored to read all 3 books in this series. Maya has always been a strong character, so I was excited to have her story. I was not disappointed. I think this is my favorite of the series, so far.
