I found this via NetGalley's Instagram account, and I'm so impressed by how much insight is offered here! I've had a Bookstagram account for 4 years, but I'm new to NetGalley, and I found so much useful information in this guide. Particularly the tips around streamlining content across platforms to avoid overwhelm (I only really use Instagram, but this got me thinking about what other platforms I could utilise), as well as the Canva tips for eReader photos. I only recently started using an eReader and (rather sadly), one of my biggest concerns was losing the aesthetic of my posts that contained physical books. I'd already been dabbling in Canva, but some of the features mentioned here I wasn't even aware of.
The guide is super beginner-friendly and easy to understand which I love (I didn't feel patronised or like I should already know everything that was listed). For example, I appreciated the differentiation between NetGalley reviews (aimed at publishers) and social media reviews (aimed at readers). I'd previously had to Google this myself to fully understand, so this made it crystal clear. I also learned some interesting things around accessibility, which I'm ashamed to say I hadn't previously considered much with my Instagram posts. Things like avoiding fancy, generated fonts and the over-use of emojis which aren't supported by screen readers was really interesting, and definitely something I'll be taking into account with my posts going forwards.
This guide is just packed to the brim with useful tips (without it being overwhelming), and there are also lots of external links to other resources - both on and off NetGalley, which I appreciated.
I'd definitely recommend this guide to anyone who's either new to NetGalley, new to social media reviews, or just craving some tips and motivation for their bookish posts!

Useful info for sharing reviews on social media. Most of it I already knew, but I did glean a few new tips. :)

Thank you Netgalley for the social media guide! This will be a super helpful resource as I work on building up my Bookstagram more :) Your hard work is appreciated!

This is a great resource for those needing some extras tips/guidance for posting on social media. This is especially helpful for those who may not be as tech savvy when it comes to using hashtags, etc.
Even if you think this does not apply to you, that you are seasoned, open it up and consider it a refresher course. It’s a really great reference piece.

Very helpful guide. Includes basically all major social channels with detailed and specific advice for each one. This guide is very much appreciated and I learned a lot!

So glad I found this handbook. It is full of helpful tips, both general and specific. The information is clearly set out and very aesthetically pleasing.

A great companion guide to NetGalley's Book Advocate Toolkit, the Social Media Handbook has some excellent tips for anyone starting out in the Bookish world. Starting with the basics like introducing you to different platforms and moving through pointers for photographs and engagement, this was a well-rounded crash course in Bookish social media.
While some of the information may be redundant if you've been operating on these platforms for a while, it's definitely helpful for anyone brand new to the game. Colorful illustrations help keep it all visually appealing, and reference links are included for any extra help you may need.
Thanks to We Are Bookish and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book!

Really enjoyed this social media guide! I love that this guide has tailored advice for the different platform. Great for beginners and more experienced book reviewers alike! Thank you!

A great and fairly detailed introduction to utilizing social media platforms for bookish purposes. I appreciated the section on reviewing across platforms, which gives advice for adapting NetGalley reviews for different social media platforms (something I have historically had issues with on shortform platforms). And I REALLY appreciated the section on accessibility, which was simple and to the point.

This handbook was very informative! I like that it didn't assume the reader had lots of information on social media, but wasn't bogged down by explaining it. The graphics were all so fun and cute too and I love all the blog links!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was informative and useful. Saved this to look back on often! Very useful information on here.
Thank you NetGalley for sharing!

Very useful guide to social media and how to best optimize it to make yourself known and connect with other like-minded people. i recommend reading it to anyone who wants to try their hand at reviews and social.

I downloaded this book in order to gain further guidance and advice on providing helpful reviews. It is very thorough, with suggestions for various platforms. I will definitely be referencing it in order to write my future book reviews!

This handbook had lots of great tips for using socials for book reviews! I appreciated the overviews for each platform and practical advice for posting. I might try a few new things with future reviews.

This made me understand so much about netgalley. I learnt a lot about how netgalley works and about how to manage my social media account. This handbook was very very helpful

This had a lot of interesting information for posting on social media. I only use Instagram and knew most of these things. However, it was a nice refresher and gave me some inspiration. If I ever decide to post on other social media platforms, it's definitely something that I will refer back to when getting started.

This was a helpful and straightforward book about social media. It goes over all the different social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Next, it discusses general social media dos and don'ts,creation tips as well as describing the fundamentals for each site for books. It also does an excellent deep dive into book reviews as in tips, writing across platforms, and retail platforms. Lastly, it discusses different strategies and aspects of content creation. I think this will be helpful for people that want to make content online but don't know how to.

NetGalley’s Social Media Handbook provides a fantastic overview for book reviewers. This handy guide assists reviewers in planning, creating, and sharing their reviews across various platforms, including Instagram and TikTok.
I found the section on composing and sharing photos of books on social media particularly helpful.
While the page design is beautiful, I found the white text on light backgrounds difficult to read. Several sections were hard to decipher when viewed in dark mode on the NetGalley reader. Additionally, there is no option to send the book to Kindle.
Overall, this was a valuable read that I could easily breeze through. It provided me with great ideas for expanding to other platforms and growing my audience. This is a must-read for any NetGalley reviewer, whether they are just starting out or looking to refresh their skill set.
