this book contains two stories from some of my favorite authors. both stories were very good. I enjoyed the book very much.

The Two of Us by Lori Foster contains two novellas: The Odd Couple by Lori Foster and Force of Nature by Maisey Yates. Both are easy reads.
The Odd Couple - Lori Foster
Ford and Skye are next door neighbors but had never formally introduced themselves until the day Skye walked over to request a favor from Ford or one of his friends who were visiting. Ford accepted the "business arrangement."
Skye is a loner and doesn't want friends. Neither Ford nor Skye is interested in relationships. When Skye's twin sister, Laylee, shows up at her door and wants to stay for a while, things begin to change for everyone. Ford and Skye decide to each adopt a rescue dog, Laylee quits her job and asks to live with Skye, and life becomes a little chaotic. Ford and Skye both learn a lot about themselves as they try to bring some kind of order into the lives.
I love the characters and the dogs in this story. Great read!
Force of Nature - Maisey Yates
Remy and Lydia have been friends for many years. Remy actually lived with Lydia and her family while he was in high school because he had a bad home life with his mother and father.
One day Lydia brings a dog from the animal shelter to Remy's house and wants Remy to take it. He doesn't want to but accepts it after she tells him that the dog had belonged to his deceased father. The dog had been abused and was in poor health. Remy identified with the dog because he had also been abused by his father.
Lydia helps Remy take care of the dog, Hank. As time goes along, their feelings about each other become more than just a friendship. Remy begins to worry about whether or not it would be inappropriate to get into a relationship with Lydia.
I loved the characters and the dog in this story. Great read!

The Odd Couple is a sweet, short story about a reluctant hero and the women who captures his heart without even trying. Add in an unexpected, odd pairing of two pups who will not be separated, and you get laughs and love in its purest form. I really liked Ford and Skye and their journey to find their HEA. Watching Ford fall hard for Skye was so heartwarming. There are wonderful secondary characters, and I wanted so much more of all of them. A must read for all animal and HEA lovers. There is also a second book included "Force of Nature" by Maisey Yates. I enjoyed this book as well and you won't be disappointed with either.
I received an advanced reader copy and this is my honest and unsolicited opinion.

The Odd Couple by Lori Foster: Ford and Skye are neighbors. Ford reluctantly agrees to do Skye a favor and as they spend more time together, their feelings for each other start to grow. Things get interesting when Skye decides to adopt a rescue dog, and Ford does the same. This is such a fun story full of humor, new relationships, new friendships, family dynamics, and more! The adorable dogs and their crazy antics cause havoc for Ford, Skye, their friends, and Skye’s twin sister.
Force of Nature by Maisey Yates: Lydia Clay and Remy Lane have known each other since childhood. Remy is Lydia’s brother’s best friend. Remy’s childhood was less than ideal, and he spent most of his time with the Clay family, never even imagining a future with Lydia. But when Lydia finds Remy’s father’s old dog, Hank, at the shelter she works at, she decides that the best place for Hank would be with Remy. He’s reluctant at first, but takes Hank in. Lydia always had a crush on Remy but never let him know. As Lydia and Remy spend more time together, feelings start to grow. Remy is reluctant to act on his feelings, though, because he fears he could be just like his father and wouldn’t want Lydia to be a part of that kind of relationship. A story of healing, new beginnings, and a HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a quick read but a fun read. Ford and Skye have been neighbors for awhile and even though they are friendly with each other they have maintained a certain distance. Ford is thrown for a loop when Skye approaches he and his friends for a favor, which changes everything. No longer holding himself back, Ford gets to have everything he's ever wanted but was too afraid to go after.

This was a quick, heartwarming read by two authors that centered around both couples love of animals. First, we have Skye and Ford who are neighbors who end adopting two unlikely dogs that are best friends. Since the dogs won’t be left without each other, Skye and Ford come up with a plan to keep them together as much as possible. Does their plan include their own happily ever after?
Then we have Remy and Lydia. Lydia who was an animal lover and Remy, who was a rancher and very business like with his animals. But, when Remy’s absent and abusive father passed away and left behind his dog, Hank, Remy had little choice to take the dog in. Lydia always had feelings for Remy but he felt that he wasn’t good enough for the daughter of the only family that he grew up with. Will Remy finally admit that he does deserve his own happiness?

These two books are great. First book by Lori Foster has the dogs that steal the show. I didn't mind that at all. Second book by Maisey Yates is a very sad book about abused animals being rescued and showed all the love that they had been missing their whole life.

This was a real struggle for me to read. I absolutely couldn’t read this and didn’t enjoy anything about it

This was a beautifully done romance novel, it had that element that I was looking for and enjoyed the overall feel of this. It was great two stories and used the rescue dog element to this. I enjoyed how good each story was and how Lori Foster and Maisey Yates wrote this.

I love these two authors and I love that they created two stories where the power of love - both of people and animals - can make everyone the best version of themselves. Lori Foster’s heartwarming fake dating story featuring neighbors Ford and Skye is full of friendship and hope. Maisey Yates’ sexy story that features brother’s best friend — and lots of animals, including a raccoon - is full of redemption and love. This book was a perfect companion for a snowy day. Thank you to #NetGalley and #Kensington Books for this lovely ARC.

This story by Lori Foster was so enjoyable. I love when she includes animals in her stories. The bonus story by Maisey Yates was a great read with a nice ending.

This is a two books in one read that I truly enjoyed. These stories were well layered with great characters. Characters that told amazing stories. Stories that included fun, silly pets that added so much to the already wonderful stories. The best part is these are rescue pets that not only get loving homes…they played matchmakers…what’s better than that? My reviews to each book is below.
The odd couple
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Neighbors Ford and Skye knew that the other existed but beyond being neighborly they didn’t really know each other. Until one day Skye asked for a favor…help her get rid of an ex that won’t go away. Slowly these two become friends, then sooo much more. These two had fun banter and great chemistry. They definitely grew to understand each other…it just took awhile and a few crazy dogs! Yes these two decided that adopting dogs together was a great idea…it definitely brought them closer. This well layered story was cute, funny and extremely sweet. I am a huge Lori Foster fan and this story did not disappoint.
Force of Nature
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Remy and Lydia have known each other for a long time. Her brother is his best friend, her family is his family…but she has a different kind of love for him. When this animal loving, sassy woman gets it in her head that he is hers and she is his…there is no stopping her. Remy didn’t have the best childhood and Lydia’s family was there for him. Does he have the right to fall for their daughter? Is he good enough for her? Yes and Yes! These two truly belong together. This was a sweet but emotional story about found families, finding out your true love is right under your nose and everything in between. I really enjoyed not only this story but this authors writing style. I look forward to reading more of her books.

This has been the most enjoyable book I have read in a long time. Between Skye and Ford, and Maybelline and Tank they had me smiling and at some points laughing out loud. The romance is there, I don’t know who was more loving Syke and Ford, or Maybeliine and Tank. I enjoyed insight of all involved in the aggravating ex. If you only have time to read one book for now, read this one! I am glad I did. Truly a feel good book between dogs and their pets.

The Two of Us by Lori Foster and Maisey Yates is a great read. It's two short stories of love, hope, and of animal rescues. Very well written by both authors. I couldn't put it down.

This was such a sweet novella. I really enjoyed watching Ford and Skye find their HEA. Of course the story wouldn’t be complete without the 2 canines that were so sweet. This story was about family you are born into and the family you chose and how you just have to be open to what is out there.

3.5 stars.
Two stories involving animals, their antics and how people bond through them, “The odd couple” (Lori Foster) and “Force of Nature” (Maisey Yates) are also about healing and hope after pain.
I liked how protective and sweet Ford turns out to be with Skye and how naturally he reads the situation/relationship between the twins (Lori Foster).
Their friendship and romance is interesting to watch, both are honest with each other.
The compassion and steadiness in Ford is admirable, particularly considering his childhood. I liked how he dealt with Skye’s self esteem issues.
I loved the grumpy hero, Remy, in Maisey Yates’ story.
He tries being the cold, inflexible, even mean person, like his father, but it all crumbles when faced with an old, neglected dog and a caring, special woman.

The Two of Us gives us two novellas, both sweet and tender love stories. In both books, there is the task of learning how to love and trust others. Rescue animals are involved, helping to bring two couples together. Maybelline and Tank are two adorable rescue dogs in Skye and Ford’s story. And Hank is a wonderful cattle dog who helps rescue Remy and Lydia. I recommend this fun and easy to read book, especially if you love animals.

The Two of Us is a romance anthologies about how the love of a rescue dog and their ability can bring people together. These couples are about to find out in this read. The authors did an amazing job writing this and I especially liked The Odd Couple read. All of the characters in these stories were great and of course the animals were amazing. Overall, this was such a sweet read that I highly enjoyed and would recommend to any reader who loves romance books. Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Publishing for this read in exchange of my honest review of The Two of Us by Lori Foster and Maisey Yates.

This was a wonderful novella. I always wish they were longer, when I read Lori's books. Getting to see Skye and Ford's story, was fun. I loved the addition of rescue animals. I am hopeful Lori's next book has Laylee and Knox's story.
This is an honest review of my ARC.

The Odd Couple by Lori Foster - Ford Caruso is a great neighbor, imho. And Sky Fairchild is his “hot” neighbor. Of COURSE they aren’t interested in each other! (This is where I snort-laff.) Reading how these two dance around each other, help one another out, and fall for each other? Perfect! I so enjoyed the dance these two did around their “non” feelings. And I adored the two dogs – little matchmakers! Well, Maybelline (Ford’s adopted dog) is huge, compared to Sky’s adoption, Tank, who is a little whirling dervish. (These two are the best of friends and mischievous matchmakers.) Perfect times two!
Force of Nature by Maisey Yates - Oh boy. I’d say there’s nothing like puppy dog eyes but there’s a racoon who runs a household. A vole. A one-eyes chicken...and a small tyrant of a dog. And Hank, is a heartbreaker! Remy and Lydia have broken souls (they are the humans). They grew up together but the sparks that grow between the? Priceless! Reading how Remy’s thinking changes is so good. He is a warm, decent man, under his feelings about his past and his background broke my heart. And seeing how Lydia started to believe in herself and how she helps Remy grow and change? It made for a wonderful story.
