Early readers will learn about camping in "My First Book of Camping" A carry handle allows you to take the book along for your camping adventures. Different ways to camp are covered throughout. The text is good for building expectations and excitement. Various camping places are mentioned from across the country as well as things to do during camping. Recommended for ages 1-4.

I am in love with this series! This adventure is packed with everything our family loves about camping and more. This board book is perfect for little hands on the go, even has its own handle. So fun! So Creative! We get to follow on their adventure in discovery, and finding their own love for camping. The text is so easy for children to follow and understand. We love the illustrations, they are bright and bold yet simple and adorable enough to be perfect for grabbing toddlers attention. The details are so amazing. We loved the showing of how wonderful camping can be; like playing in the creek, enjoying the campfire and don't forget the delicious s’mores. Enjoy this outstanding book while camping with your little ones.
Enjoy the adventure with your family.

My First Book of Camping by Stephanie Puglisi was a fun read with my little one. I liked the mention of Assateague Island especially. I do wish when it mentions swimming that it had a fun reminder to always be with an adult. (It was pictured, but I wish it was in writing as well.) I am guessing the white rectangle is maybe a handle for young children to hold it and carry it with them. Overall, this book was great and a nice introduction for very young ones. I look forward to other books in the series. The illustrations were nice and age appropriate. I received an eARC from Sourcebooks Kids through NetGalley. All opinions are 100% my own.

I thought this was a really cute little book to introduce kids to camping! I liked that there were actual examples of the parks that had the different aspects discussed (such as being able to camp right by the ocean where there are wild horses at Assateague Island in Maryland). I thought those were a nice touch. The recipe for s'mores in the book is cute too!

Loved My First Book of Camping by Stephanie Puglisi; Jeremy Puglisi. Book says ages 0-4 but I think it skews a little bit towards 4 or even 5 years old. It includes adorable illustrations and is designed with a handle to be carried by kids on the go. Sometimes books for children do not give them enough credit, and I can honestly say this was not the case with this book. They gave kids actual examples of things to do while camping and things they might learn like:
-Different types of camping (log cabins, yurts, tree houses, tent, campers)
-That you can camp anywhere, even in your own backyard
-How to make different shadow puppets with your hands by the campfire
-Step-by-step instructions on how to make s'mores
I would definitely recommend this book for littles and say give it to them young so they can grow with it. Plus they can take it with them any time they camp!

Note: I ESPECIALLY liked the diversity of individuals illustrated in this book. You see children with disabilities, families with just a mom, seniors, individuals with different color skin colors and faiths, truly illustrating what we learn at the book's closing that "camping is for everyone no matter where you're from".

This book is massively too long for a board book. I don’t even find it interesting and entertaining. The idea behind it is to get a kid ready for a hike by naming supplies and everything else but its book tries to do too much at once.

My First Book of Camping is a simple picture book that gives an overview on camping in little kid friendly terms. It explains how camping can happen in many different locations and in different ways, and gives examples of what people might do while camping. This would be a great intro for younger kiddos.

Thanks to Sourcebooks Kids and NetGalley for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
