"Yo ho ho! It was so fun to say "Don't Disturb the Pirates!" And I really liked when he meets all the fairies!

I especially liked the ending - where he found his puppy had wandered off to and WHAT he found his puppy doing. That looked like so much fun! I laughed so hard when I saw some of the friends they found!

Oh! And I read the whole thing, all by myself, with no problems.

The mermaid and the crab were my favorite and the turtles were so funny! I giggled and giggled! Especially with the one that went sliding down!

I asked Mommy to read it again and want to bring home the real book right away!

Thank you to NetGalley, Sourcebook Kids, Rhiannon Findlay, and Siân Roberts for the opportunity to read and review this fun, adorable book!

Don't Disturb the Pirate! is a cute and quick children's book that takes young readers on a playful adventure to find a runaway puppy. The twist? We have to sneak around quietly so we don’t bother the pirate!

This interactive story invites kids to explore the island alongside the young main character, looking for clues hidden throughout the illustrations. One of the standout spreads lets readers help find the pieces to pack a bag for the journey—adding an extra layer of fun and engagement.

With its charming mix of sneaking, searching, and surprises, this book is perfect for kids who love puppies, pirates, or a good party. The vibrant illustrations and seek-and-find elements will keep little ones entertained from start to finish. Parents will also enjoy that it is a shorter read, that involves being as quiet and sneaky as possible. This would be a good on for bedtime.

This is such a fun and well-done book! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this book, so this is going to be a shorter review. First of all, great plot. There's a clear beginning, middle, and end and the whole book is a perfect length for a children's book. Additionally, it's clear that the author knows exactly how write a book that's intended for a younger audience. Everything felt perfectly tailored to little readers, which is such a special thing to see. Another thing that was great was the illustrations. There was a lot of detail, and the illustrator didn't cut any corners. The mood/tone was also consistent throughout the whole book, which I greatly appreciated. Lastly, I really think that this book has a lot of interactive potential. Sounds can be exaggerated, and readers can use different volume levels at various points in the story. This book is just awesome. Bravo!!

This book is fun. Its rhymes are contagious. The cadence is great and has a nice break where there needs to be, plus, that break is repetitive, so it makes sense. The illustrations are bright and colorful and are sure to grab any kids’ attention.

This was a cute little pirate book. My daughters enjoyed the silliness of hiding from the pirates. They were trying to look on each page to see a hiding pirate, that would have been a fun add in. Overall a fun children’s book.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!

Reading is big in my house and my 6 year old is always looking for new books. We are also especially fond of pirate books. So when I saw this one, I immediately requested the ARC from NetGalley and I was thrilled when I was approved for it. I read it to my son and we both LOVED it. It’s very fun and the art is so cute!

At the end, my son ask to read “the unicorn one” which I think might be the next in the series, so I told him I will keep an eye out for it, but it’s not out yet. Then he saw the dragon cover so I immediately ordered Don’t Disturb The Dragon and pre-ordered a physical copy of this book since my son requested “a real book” (a physical copy of it).

Will definitely be recommending this one to fellow mothers and adding it to the list of books I buy as presents for little kids.

Don't Disturb the Pirate! is a joyful adventure of words, rhythm, and imagination! I loved the movement of the words on the page. It added energy to the story, making it feel as though the book itself was alive.

The smooth, easy rhymes create a playful reading experience that flows effortlessly, making it a great choice for read-aloud fun. Fairies AND Mermaids bring an extra layer of whimsy, keeping young readers eager to see what happens next.

Beyond its charm,, it helps reinforce key skills for Kindergarten-aged children. Each turn of the page is filled with adorable surprises. A truly magical and engaging read!

My four year old loved this, and was so excited to read it before bed.

The illustrations are adorable - lots of colour and whimsy, and the rhyming was fun! My child was excited to find the dog and had me zoom in on some of the pictures to see him better.

This is one I will probably buy a physical copy of to have in our personal library.

Thank you Netgalley for the electronic ARC of this one.

Tiptoe along with the main character as he searches for his dog and tries not to bother the pirates. I love that readers get to guess what the clues actually are as the book unfolds. The text flows smoothly so young readers can follow the rhythm. I love the final discovery that there is a pirate party and the dog had joined in. Brightly colored illustrations capture the fun and adventure.

Our kids (3 and 5) absolutely loved this. It was engaging and the rhyming was so fun. The artwork held their interest well. Thus would be one we’d read over and over. We will likely purchase for our home library. We’d definitely read others in this collection if it is or becomes a series. Thanks NetGalley for the review copy.

Thank you to Netgalley and Sourcebooks Kids for an ARC in exchange for mine and my son's review.

Read this book with my 4-year old who loved Don't Disturb the Dragon. He really liked this one as well, though not as much as the dragon book. This is a fun book about a boy encountering a plethora of animals and magical creatures on his quest to find his dog, and his attempt to not disturb the pirates on the island in the process. I realized that as someone with an American accent, a few of the rhymes don't line up exactly based on how I pronounce words. An English accent will likely flow much better when reading. Other than that, the storyline was fun, the illustrations are great and whimsical, and the writing is simple yet effective! My son has asked several times to read this book again, and I enjoy reading it, which are the two main components for success in our house!
