The illustrations added to the atmosphere that the story “Tino and the Pmodori” created. I love tomatoes, and all of the food sounded delicious. The author did a great job of showing how important those experiences were to Tino.

I think that I would have really enjoyed this story. However, it had too much Italian throughout the story which was distracting from the story itself. Even though it had translations for the Italian as the story went along, it did not help. I did like the illustrations though. They were great. I think they will also add to those who will enjoy the story. I think some children, maybe more would like this book, but I believe it might be helpful to be read by an adult for most children because of the Italian words.
