Sicilian Haiku by Freddie Omm is a beguiling fusion of Mediterranean languor and Japanese concision, distilling the heat, decay, and lyricism of Sicily into crystalline, three-line shards. Each haiku is a sun-scorched vignette—olive trees like arthritic limbs, laundry snapping like flags of surrender—delivering sensory jolts with the discipline of a blade. Omm's work lingers like the aftertaste of bitter citrus, precise and astringent, quietly devastating in its brevity.

A beautiful collection of poems about my homeland. Incredibly discriptive and nice to pick up after a long day. Will surely go back to them whenever I'm feeling homesick.

Freddie Omm's haiku collection is a diverse and interesting collection that I read through way too quickly. I will definitely be picking up other collections by this author. The writing flows well and is descriptive.

Haikus about a very important topic, and many crucial themes, plus Sicily as a connector.
Poetry and haikus have a more subjective quality, hence my 2 star rating.
