In my humble opinion, this is the best in the series so far! It was hilarious, smart, and suspenseful in a fun way. BONUS: Finlay’s infamous wig scarf from the first book reappears. As usual, the cliffhanger has me itching for more.

4.5 stars rounded up.

This was an incredible continuation to the series! I was laughing out loud and could not put the book down! As always, the plot twists were amazing and caught me completely off guard! I would love to read more books in this series!

I LOVE THIS SERIES! I usually wait for the audio but I got the ebook before I could get the audio so I binged that first and let me tell you the entire time I was reading it I was reading it with the narrator's voice in my head. I love the narrator of this series! After finishing it, a couple weeks later, I then got the audio and, of course, had to listen to that. This made me so happy. Imagine me doing all the things with a smile on my face and laughing out loud (attention Walmart shoppers, that was me). This one starts with a call to the school because Delia is being expelled for fighting (really she was defending herself), then Mrs. Haggerty moves in after being released from jail since her house still has police tape after the body was discovered in her backyard. Don't forget Cam and his dog show up for dinner and play video games. Oh, the chaos but the joy. What else, oh! Potty training, the Mrs. Haggerty way. Don't forget book club because what happens in book club may not stay in book club, especially when brownies are involved.

I implore you to start this series at the beginning and enjoy your way through. It will be one of the best decisions you make!

Thank you so much for an advanced copy of Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave. I love this series!

I was anticipating this book so much, and it did not disappoint. Finlay and Vero were up to their old shenanigans, and I was hanging on each page. Is the storyline super believable? No...but is it fun? Yes, yes it is! And, I think any team of best friends can relate to the trouble that Finlay and Vero get into page after page.

I'm also very invested in what I call a love triangle among Finlay, Nick, and Steven. I'm still not solidly team Nick, and I'm curious what we will see from Nick in the next book now (no spoilers)...but if you've read, you know. I just don't completely trust him yet!

Two thumbs way way up!

I love this series! It just so fun and after four books, you think the storylines would start to plateau. But nope! Not this series. Each story gets wilder yet somehow just sort of believable?

I think this was the first twist I actually caught onto early in the book, but it didn’t take away from the experience.

Can’t wait for the next one!

Big thanks to Minotaur and Macmillan Audio for the advance copy!

Finlay Donovan does it again. I don't think I could ever get tired of reading these stories. Once again, Finaly and Vero find themselves in the middle of something they shouldn't be, and chaos ensues the entire time. I love how these stories weave themselves together in a way that's just crazy enough to work, even if you have to suspend belief a bit. Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read this one early. I already cannot wait for book #6!

I had some reading to do in order to review this book. I dove into the Finlay Donovan series, starting with the first book and didn't come up for air until this one was completed. What a great series! I loved all of these books, and my only regret is now being caught up and having to wait a long time for the next release! What fun ride! I feel like we all need a bestie like Vero, and a hot boyfriend like Nick. (although, I would also settle for Julian) Looking forward to the next release!

Elle Cosimano has written another hit! I was so excited that all my favorite characters are included in the latest adventure of Finlay and Vero. This one starts with a dead body buried in her neighbor Mrs Haggerty´s backyard, which is a huge surprise to Finlay and Vero. Soon our favorite duo is in the middle of another investigation just when they thought they were finally in the clear after several months of murder investigations. This newest Finlay Donovan will not disappoint its full of twists and an ending I did not predict. As always Elle Cosimano leaves us wanting more! I cant get enough of these fun novels they have quickly become my new favorites!

Finlay Donovan has been my best friend for 5 books now and nothing has changed. I love Finlay and Vero and their crazy adventures. What's better is that things kinda get wrapped up, well sorta of. I love the continuity of this book with the series. Elle Cosimano has given us our own kind of Nancy Drew. If you haven't read any other books in this series, things kind of get explained from previous books but it's best to read them all before this one. Everything will make sense! I have loved reading this series and can't wait to see what else Elle Cosimano comes up with. Thank you St Martin's Press and NetGalley for the advanced copy!

This series is dynamite! This time, Finlay and Vero get caught p with resident busy-body neighbor, Margaret Hagerty. There seems to have been a body found in her rosebushes. However, things really take a turn when Finlay's ex-husband, Steven, is charged with the murder. Getting out of sticky situations seems to be Finlay's forte and this mystery is no different.
Luckily for us Finlay fans, this series will definitely be continuing. Next up, getting Vero out of trouble!

*Special thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for this digital e-arc.*

Finlay Donovan is divorced and dating a cop which makes for a strange pairing. Finlay has a few skeletons in her closet. Finlay and.her nanny/partner-in-crime, Vero, don't get along with Finlay’s elderly neighbor, Mrs. Haggerty. Mrs Haggerty is a busybody and neighborhood watch president . A dead body is discovered in Ms Haggertys back yard Since Mrs. Haggerty's house is a crime scene she packes her bags and has her son drop her off at Finlays.. Mrs Haggerty has taken over Finlays home, including her bedroom.

Finlay watches Mrs Haggerty sneaking out of the house, while watching her, Finlay finds her behaving strangley. Finlay doesn't want to get involved in another murder case. She's been involved in enough murders for now. thanks netgalley.

More of the same.. in the best way possible.

I liked this one better than the last one. I feel like the ridiculous (but fun!) shenanigans were toned down a bit to a less ridiculous, more believable level. I feel like the stakes weren’t as high either so it was less stressful. I liked having Finlay be doing the investigating but not being the one in trouble. Not completely anyway.

Looking forward to seeing where the next one goes!

I can’t believe this is book 5 of Finlay Donovan and there’s still so much that could happen. The cliffhanger in this one is actually diabolical 😩

I don’t want to give anything away (obvi!) but this one had so much going on and things really started to get going. I loved being able to spend more time with characters that were surface level, finding myself adoring them so much.

Genuinely can’t wait for more Finlay books, they’ve become such comfort reads for me! 💗

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave by Elle Cosimano

Genre: mystery
Series: Finlay Donovan # 5
Spice Level: 1/5🌶, closed door
Setting: DMV area
POV: single, 1st person, past tense

My Thoughts:
I had previously said this series should have stopped at a trilogy because the plot was getting away from Finlay, but then this book reigned everything right back in!

Mrs. Haggerty has been a scene-stealer from the beginning and I’m so glad she was now central to this story! The shenanigans felt very silly, yet believable, so I was happy to go along for the ride.

And yay for more hot cop and hotter lawyer!

Memorable Quote: “You can’t ask me to only fall in love with the parts of you you’re willing to show me. I want you. Not part of you. All of your.”

Thank you to the publisher for my advance copy!

Have I said that I love Finlay Donovan before? Because I freakin' love Finlay Donovan! She always finds a way to get herself into some precarious situations that end up being absolutely hilarious!

In the 5th installment in the series, Mrs. Haggerty was arrested for murder when they found a body buried in her backyard. She has since been released, but the power is shut off to her house, leaving her with nowhere to stay. Her grandson Brendan drops her off on Finlay's doorstep and she moves herself into Finlay's bedroom for the weekend (cough, cough). If Mrs. H didn't murder the man in her backyard, who did?

Things progress and fingers start being pointed at Stephen. How is Stephen always the bad guy? I mean, he is, but still lol. But Finlay knows deep down that Stephen didn't kill this man. It's up to her and Vero to step in and prove that he isn't the murderer. With the help of Hot Cop Nick, Cam and his Purple Eggplant, Mrs. H and her book club, the chaos ensues.

I really enjoyed this book and am so glad that the author has kept this series going! This one was a lot more believable and less far fetched than the last few installments. I absolutely loved the scenes with Mrs. H homeschooling Delia and Zac. The potty training scenes were laugh-out-loud hilarious. The Purple Eggplant, too funny! And the way Cam is with his dog, precious! And don't even get me started on Mrs. H's book club! That sounds like the type of book club that I want to be a member of (no shade to my own book club). This motley crew is to die for. 4.5 stars for FD Digs Her Own Grave. I can't wait to see what Cosimano has in store for #6!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC!

The steady and consistent Finlay Donovan series carries on. This one was a bit reeled back from previous books but the book still contained the hijinks that you would expect from Finlay and Vero. The story was refreshingly not as convoluted as the previous installment and overall I had a pretty good time. I was pleasantly surprised that Finlay and Nick's relationship actually made tangible progress in this book after it kind of sputtered around in the past few books. I started flaming out by the end but overall would recommend. I thought I was done with this series but this pulled me back in and reminded me that these books are ol' reliable- funny, a good time, and a nice escape from reality. Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this ARC!

Another fun adventure with Finlay Donovan! These books are so much fun to read. I love how light-hearted this series is, while still being engaging. I enjoyed bringing back and learning more about previous characters, such as Cam and Ms. Haggerty. This series is best if read in order because there are so many characters and plot lines that are repeated throughout. I think my interest in the series had been waning and this book got me right back into it.. I am looking forward to the next one!

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press/Minotaur Books for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave is the 5th book in the Finlay Donovan series. I really enjoyed this book of the series, it moved along at a good pace and kept me turning the pages. I loved that Finlay finally opened up more to Nick about what has been going on in her life, that is huge for Finlay. This story line had twists and turns, that I finally figured out toward the end. I would recommend it to others.

I received and ARC from NetGalley and the publisher, I am leaving my review voluntarily.

It has been such a long time since I've binged a series!

Finlay Donovan is such a fun ride... and after finishing this one, I wish I could keep binging this series forever! It's so much fun, crazy escapades, mob drama, and a solid amount of hijinks. Finlay and Vero are such a great team and the whole concept of this series is ridiculously fun.

The way this book ended though.... CRIMINAL. Straight to jail Elle Cosimano! And no cops like Nick to save you!

I couldn't understand why we shifted to this plot line of Mrs Haggerty when there were 2 unresolved plot lines for Steven and Vero, but regardless this was an enjoyable read.
I cannot get enough of these characters and loved the deeper dive into Mrs Haggerty and Cam too.
This series is so fun and easy to read, but the cast of characters is what really sets it apart.
