Thank you Net Galley for the ARC, any piece of Julie Sotos writing is absolute gold!

If you are fans of the following, you will absolute devour this book as well:
- One of Us is Lying
- A Good Girls Guide to Murder
- We Were Liars

Firstly, hands off to Julie Soto for breaking out of the romance drama with this YA mystery/thriller. I was thoroughly on the edge of my seat and fully engrossed in all the friend group drama.

The main character was very relatable and likable, and reading from her POV as she uncovers new pieces of information was fun to follow. The Thrasher dynamics were so interesting as I found myself loving/hating/loving again each of these characters.

(In the end I hate Zack and love Julian even though I shouldn’t siggggghhhh)

This captivating story initially made me hesitant to read it. As a fan of Julie Soto’s adult books, I worried that her YA writing style might not be my type. However, after a few pages, I was thoroughly intrigued and couldn’t put the book down. I went to sleep thinking about the unfolding events and forming my own conclusions about the case. And let me tell you, with that epilogue, I was just screaming. 😱

From now on, I believe that every book written by Julie Soto will automatically earn a 5-star rating from me. I genuinely loved her unique writing style.

Thank you, Netgalley, St Martin’s Books, and Wednesday Books for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I couldn't put this book down! I needed to discover all the hidden secrets from the Thrashers group. With these 4 highschoolers you're a Thraser or you're thrashed. Emily Mills wanted to be the 5th Thrasher except no one liked her and she couldn't get the hint. Why were the Thrashers coming back from prom while Emily was being wheeled out of her home in a body bag? Was it suicide or were the Thrashers involved? Are they all hiding a secret or are they just hiding it from Jodi whose not rich like the rest and is essentially the outcast of the group.

This reminded me of pretty little liars meets 13 reason why. I devoured this book. Julie Soto definitely hit this one out of the park.

This book drew me in immediately. It’s a really interesting read about friendships and bullying and the consequences of our actions. This read is totally unique and its own story, but I think fans of Pretty Little Liars would love this book! I definitely recommend The Thrashers and am excited to read other books by Julie Soto. I received this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Miss Julie nailing all the genres! I’m not a thriller girlie but I tend to enjoy YA thrillers as they’re more my speed. I almost had a heart attack when one of my most horrific intrusive thoughts happened, so that was an immediate “put the book down until morning” moment lol. There’s a supernatural element and a small romance subplot that added some fun to an otherwise stressful (but enjoyable) experience 😆

This one kept me on my toes throughout and I think fans of Pretty Little Liars, Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and Karen McManus will really enjoy!

Thank you to NetGalley and Wednesday books for the advanced copy!

This was so fun!! I had never read a Julie Soto book before as I’m not a big romance person, but I was very familiar with her as an author and super intrigued when I saw she wrote a YA mystery/thriller. This reminded me a lot of Pretty Little Liars and One of Us is Lying, which are two of my all time favorite YA series. It also had a bit of Final Destination to it which was unexpected but very enjoyable. Overall, I really enjoyed the plot and had a hard time putting it down. And the ending??? I’m reallyyyy hoping this becomes a series!

This book had its hooks in me. It was so good and you felt for every character. The twists that happen and the truth that comes out surprised me. When I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. I really like the writing style of the author and the way it was laid out. I also really love the main character and her struggles were so real.

Whatever Julie Soto laced within the words of this book needs to be studied.

I am obsessed and need for there to be a second book. This is her YA mystery thriller debut and she did NOT disappoint. I could not put this down upon cracking it open, and when I did put it down, I was zoning out thinking about it and trying to figure out the puzzles within it.

Our girl’s got rannnngggeee that’s for sure. I’m now convinced Julie Soto could write about bowel movements and I’d find it captivating.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martins press for blessing me with the e-ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review.

I was so invested in this book, I literally couldnt figure out who the killer was. It was so annoyingly fun to figure it out. That epilogue though I have so many questions. I would highly recommend this book.

Julie Soto has a great way of writing. It kind of draws you into the story and doesn’t want you to put it down. If you haven’t read her stuff please do. This was well worth the rate. Can’t wait to see her new book.

Thank you NetGalley for this arc in return for a review:)
This was my first Julie Soto book and let me just say, I am HOOKED. This book brought me out of my slump and had me on the edge of my seat, constantly wanting to know what would happen next. It was written well, you were able to see character growth pan out, it was mysterious and twisty and a very pleasing thriller read. The ending also had me hooked, wondering if it was a nod to a potential sequel or just a last little twist for the readers.

Wow! I almost don’t know what the say after the last third of the book. I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. A perfect rollercoaster of a thriller!! Really hope the story continues!!

The book took a little bit to get into momentum but it was so worth it!

This book was INCREDIBLE I truly could not put it down. Finished it in one sitting it had me gripping my seat wondering what would happen next. This book follows The Thrashers, a group of best friends who are accused of bullying a girl into committing suicide on prom night. The twists at the end were so unexpected and the relationship that blossomed between the FMC and one of the other Thrashers was so good. I just wish they could have had a happy ending together.

New Julie Soto book is an absolute masterpiece! Her writing is just beautiful! And how she changes genres! You never know what will be next.

I loved paranormal line in the plot very much. The book is so captivating, I couldn't put it down!
The characters are so well-thought, they have depth and I really enjoy the dynamics.

I think it is one of the best books of Julie Soto!

“Do you ever feel like you're not enough?”

Julie Soto’s writing is absolutely captivating. Whether it is her contemporary romance, fan-fiction, or now her YA thriller suspense - she compels the reader to immerse themselves in the story and not come up for air until the final page.
This book was truly outstanding. The delicate mix of suspense and paranormal plot with characters dealing with real life situations and heavy subject matter was so beautifully done. I can’t wait to read it again.

Please read it so we can discuss. I know who I love most and I want to know if you agree.
I hope there will be a second book because… gah!

Thank you to St Martin’s Publishing and Julie Soto for a digital advance reader copy.

I am usually not a fan of thrillers; I'm a romance/romantsy reader all the way, but The Thrashers was so good that I couldn't put it down. The Thrashers follows a group of five high school friends who are haunted by the death of a classmate. It has a lot of twists and turns that are delicious, I also enjoyed that paranormal element. It is my understanding currently that this is a standalone; however, if there ever was a sequel, I would be the first one reading it. It's just that good.

This is the third Julile Soto book I have read, and I have not been disappointed. She is easily becoming one of my favorite authors.

Thank you Wednesday Books, NetGalley and Julie for this eARC!!!

I really enjoyed this story and the way it was told. I will be honest I’m confused and I think will stay that way until Julie talks more about it. I read this in basically one sitting and was up late to read. What I thought was a summer vibe turned into a cool autumn vibe with lots of spooky supernatural vibes.

This is such a different genre for Julie to pivot to, but it proves that she is a master at writing because I could NOT put this book down. I have so many questions for her. I think this debut into YA is so strong and will be so interesting to see what else she writes in this genre. It’s also proof that I’ll read whatever Julie writes and cementing the fact that she is an auto-buy author for me.

I can understand if some readers may not like this book and rate low. The ending is well done in my opinion and definitely leads to even more questions. I’ll be thinking of this book for a while.

4.5 stars ✨

Here are internal thoughts over characters- kinda unhinged

I like Julian - respectfully I’d love a book or snippet from his point of view because WOW. I don’t know how to feel about him. I did suspect he had feelings for Jodi but Jodi had feelings for Zack and who didn’t love Zack? Zack’s like the sun and everyone orbits around him, trying to stay in the light more. But Julian’s like cruel teasing towards Jodi scream elementary school crush, but the end of the book is like ??? oh you’re serious. His ARC was quite interesting and I mean despite his actions being the catalyst for Emily’s suicide, he was there for Jodi. Or was it Emily haunting him??? It’s so SHADY I can’t decipher where his true feelings were or his guilt from what happened to Emily.
Zack - I liked him at first, he was all sunshine and of course from Jodi’s perspective, how can you not love him? Talk about rose colored glass or whatever. He sucked at the end. Very self absorbed and wanted to be blameless and wouldn’t really accept that some of his actions were really not well thought out.

Emily is crazy - POOR VANESSA SHE DIDNT HAVE TO TIP JODI OFF TO HE WRITTEN OFF LIKE THAT. Emily was really obsessive and her prying into everyone’s secrets is wild and so intrusive. The glass bottle being Paige is crazy but like the parallel to Jodi and her father…I can’t believe she’s going to haunt Julian for a while. Can we get a book from his POV? How do we know his actions were his or if Emily was yelling at him in ghost form??

Hannah is also extremely complex to think about - hacker and stalking and then planting a fake diary??? lowkey genius but also girl ??????

Jodi ?????
Jodi is the main character and we read 98% of the book through her perspective. So I’m sus she’s so quiet like girl speak up😭

I liked Julian at the end but the epilogue has me fucked

A great book that my students in the upper grades would love. It was a thrilling read that kept me up late turning pages and I believe it would grip not only young people but also adults. I enjoyed the touch of romance and it was my favorite Julie Soto book.
