Olivia Worley's upcoming novel, SO HAPPY TOGETHER, is camp, it's messy, it's chaotic, and it's so much fun! This book is my first venture into Worley's writing, but it will not be my last. If you love the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the movie Promising Young Woman, or the books Love Letters to a Serial Killer or YOU, this book will definitely be your jam!
Jane is sure Colin is her soulmate—even if he doesn’t know it yet. When he dumps her and starts dating the seemingly perfect Zoe, Jane is convinced she just has to win him back. But everything changes when she sneaks into his apartment and uncovers a shocking secret that leads to obsession, betrayal, and murder. I'm not going to dive in further, because the best part of this story is how it unfolds.
This book has all the fun, anti-slow burn vibes that I expected it to be. It's pretty predictable, but there was a twist that did catch me off-guard! I read this book in one sitting, so it's definitely safe to say that this is a bingeworthy story! Don't take this book too seriously and you'll have a blast. I know I did!

Breakups are hard. Getting over them is harder. Our obsessive, slightly stalker-ish main character, Jane, wonders why her 6 date relationship ship with Colin has abruptly come to an end. As Jane finds her self getting deeper into finding her way back into Colin’s life, she uncovers secrets, lies, and manipulation that is much more than she bargained for. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martins publishing group for the advanced reading copy!

This is a really quick, engaging thriller. I loved the plot, Jane becomes obsessed with her hinge date Colin. When he breaks things off with her she doesn’t let go, instead befriending his new girlfriend Zoe in hopes she can win him back. Along the way she ends up uncovering some concerning secrets.
I loved being inside Jane’s head this whole story. What I loved about her was she seemed so crazy but also kind of relatable when it comes to online dating.
Great debut adult thriller from Olivia Worley, I also really enjoyed her YA thriller the debutantes!
Thank you so much St. Martins Press and Minotaur Books via NetGalley for the eARC!

3.5 stars. This is an ARC from NetGalley. This book is chalked full of unlikable characters. From the jump you are dealing with an obsessive female living in her own version of the world. It took 3/4th the book to get to the twist, and while a bit predictable, it was a nice change in the narrative. Overall, I wouldn't say this was anything new and inventive, but it was an entertaining quick read. #netgalley #sohappytogether #mentalhealth #mystery #unrealiablenarrative

A twisty, psychological mystery/thriller with a somewhat unexpected reveal. This was a well written thriller with a bit of a mystery & romance written into the storyline. Who is telling the truth? Who do you believe? Those are the main questions that reverberate throughout the story. I had my theories while reading & they were somewhat correct but that didn't take away from the thrill of it & wanting to get to the reveal. Overall, a solid 3-4 star read.

Not going to lie, the story felt a little all over the place. I was engaged mostly, but had a hard time keeping up at some parts. Overall I liked the characters of Jane and Colin, but wish they were developed more. The twists and turns were unpredictable and thrilling to an extent, but also felt lackluster in a way. I wanted more backstory and authenticity, but this kind of gave low grade “You” vibes.

3.75 Stars
Honestly I was so confused most of this book. But in a good, this is twisted, I’m not sure where it’s going type way. Jane is in love with her ex-boyfriend (of 6 dates), Colin, and believes they are destined to be together. She befriends his current girlfriend, Zoe, and from there her obsession only grows. Only, other things are not what they seem and she must decide is staying the course to get back with her one true love is worth it.
It’s a roller coaster of crazy and I enjoyed every minute.

I liked the premise of this book and thought it was a creepy idea. I did not enjoy the random comments about white people spread throughout the book. They weren't necessary to the story whatsoever. I liked the characters and how messy they were. I liked the twist at the end, but also saw it coming a mile away.

SO HAPPY TOGETHER
THRILLER/MYSTERY
Rating: 3.8 stars
Read if:
- like the tv show YOU
- enjoy books that leaves you wondering
- have fallen in love too fast from Hinge
- like domestic thrillers, think unhinged stalker
My thoughts:
The opening line to this book is, "It's a beautiful thing watching someone die". If you're anything like me and into the dark books, it drew me in IMMEDIATELY! There is something really interesting to me about a completely unhinged, slightly stalker-ish character, and she is. At some point in the story, it does become obvious that it's a trauma response, but my goodness! The playlist that reminds her of him, the fake instagram accounts, or the "he just wants to play hard to get" while ignoring her is truly entertainment.
This would have had a higher rating for me, because I DEVOURED the last two chapters, but there were several sections that were really confusing. Who is texting who? WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY?? I had to reread and it still didn't make total sense.
This one is going to keep you on your toes and make you read quickly to figure out where the shoe drops and who is really bad.
Thank you St. Martins Press for the gifted eARC!

An obsessive woman who will do anything to get back together with her ex is befriended by his new girlfriend. Jane is convinced that her life will be complete once she reunites with her "soulmate" ex-boyfriend. Instead she forms an unlikely friendship with his current girlfriend. I really enjoyed the first two thirds of this. Jane's complex character is well-developed and fascinating. I felt that the plot took some interesting turns until a complete about face at the end. The end didn't completely work for me. I think it is a little implausible became kind of complicated. However, this was still an enjoyable, entertaining read. For fans of Megan Abbott and Lisa Jewell.

This book kept my interest, as Jane is pretty much a stalker girl obsessed with her ex boyfriend Colin. You could see exactly where the plot is heading for most of the book, so it was sort of annoying. The characters are in the mid 20s but I feel like they act immature at times. This is a good thriller book and most readers will probably enjoy it. I gave it an average three stars because it just felt average to me.

As soon as I read the tagline, I was in. Nothing else was needed for me. Look at it 👉🏻 Jane and Colin are soulmates. He just doesn’t know it yet. Knowing Jane was unhinged already set the tone for me, and by tone, I mean I knew she was bananas and would take me along on a wild ride. She delivered. Girl was nuts, and I enjoyed every second with her. I never quite knew what would happen next. Jane’s behavior was unpredictable, even if the storyline wasn’t totally surprising, and I had a lot of fun trying to figure her out. I’ll stop with the details here because half the fun of this one was seeing everything play out. This was addicting and fast paced and would be a perfect summer poolside read when you want a popcorn thriller with a little bit of an edge.

Jane thought Colin was the love of her life. But he broke up with her and is now dating Zoe. Somehow Jane convinces Zoe her and Colin are friends from college, even though in reality they went to two different schools, and much to Colins surprise get invited to his birthday party, where he plays along with it. Zoe and Jane become fast friends, Jane is trying to win Colin back, and chaos ensues at every turn of the page. Is there an ulteior motive for the friendship?

So Happy Together is a mystery that is messy, chaotic and fun. This was my first book by Olivia Worley and I can't wait to read more!

Reality TV just got way too real. So Happy Together is a razor-sharp, fast-paced thriller with a bright, Instagram-filtered sheen—and a sinister heart beating just beneath the surface. Olivia Worley brilliantly skewers influencer culture and the idea of “perfect love” in this twisty, compulsively readable mystery.
What starts as a glossy reunion of a once-beloved reality couple quickly spirals into secrets, sabotage, and suspense. Every character is suspicious, every smile possibly fake, and every chapter keeps you questioning: Who’s playing the game—and who’s about to lose everything?
Worley’s writing is fresh and cinematic, with just enough bite to keep you on edge. It’s a satirical, thrilling rollercoaster about fame, love, and the lies we tell to stay relevant.

I did not hate it. I enjoyed following Jane despite her crazy naive personality and I found myself rooting for her to just drop Colin and be pals with Zoe. As for the twist it definitely was very predictable and that always makes it less fun but it was overall a fast read/listen. The narrator did a good job

3⭐️ - Arc for review: the first thing that lured me into this book was the beautiful cover. But after reading the book I’m not sure how much the cover matched the story though. By first look at the cover, I thought maybe Valentine’s Day would play a part. While love is a strong driver in this novel, I still don’t believe the cover was a good match.
Jane is still in love with her ex Colin and jumps at the chance to be his new girlfriend Zoe’s friend when Zoe invites her to his birthday party. Most of the story is about Zoe and Jane’s blooming friendship. Going on girl dates: shopping, going out to eat etc. I was surprised to see so much time spent on this. I’m not sure I would classify this book as a thriller. I felt like only the last 15% of the book was thriller-ish. The ending was slightly confusing in my opinion regarding who the killer really was and why.
Not sure I would recommend this one to others. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy in exchange for my honest review!

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for the eARC.
I have been dabbling in books that feature an unhinged FMC as the narrator, and I was excited to try So Happy Together by Olivia Worley. This book read like a lot of the other books in this category for me, but, I liked the aspect of her "friendship" with Zoe. I don't think this one will stick with me, but I had fun reading it.

I was given an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.
So Happy Together by Olivia Worley is a novel with a compelling premise and some genuinely surprising twists. The plot is well-structured, and the story unfolds in a way that keeps you engaged, especially if you enjoy narratives with a few clever turns. I also appreciated the nods to William Shakespeare—those references added a thoughtful layer that enhanced the overall themes.
That said, the writing style didn’t quite resonate with me. While the story had momentum, the prose at times felt clunky or overly stylized, which occasionally pulled me out of the narrative. It’s clear that the book has strong bones and a creative spark, but the execution in terms of voice and tone left something to be desired.
Overall, it's a solid read with high points worth noting, especially for fans of twisty contemporary fiction with literary undertones. Just be aware that the writing style may not be to everyone’s taste.

The overall pacing in this story was a little slow. But there were so many twists and turns throughout that I generally had no idea where the story was going. The pacing really picks up in the last 20%. I was on the edge of my seat for that. The characters were all pretty unlikeable but in the best way.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
