Two women. One deeply mediocre man. Endless psychological chaos. If given the chance, would spiral again.

So Happy Together is what happens when obsession turns into alliance, truth curdles into horror, and the ending leaves you blinking at the wall, whispering, “What did I just read… and why did I love it?”

At the center of this deliciously twisted story is a woman unhealthily fixated on her ex. Not uncommon in thrillers—but Olivia Worley doesn’t stop there. Enter: the current girlfriend. But instead of the usual rivalry, we get something far more disturbing—they befriend each other. Yes. They team up. Not because women supporting women is a trend, but because there’s something about this bland, forgettable, possibly walking red flag of a man that neither of them can let go of… and what they eventually learn about him? It’s not just shocking—it’s chilling.

The real genius of this book is how it takes a seemingly ordinary love triangle and transforms it into a psychological minefield. You start out thinking, “This man? Really?” and end up thinking, “Ohhh. OH. Okay. Burn it all down.” By the time the final twist slithers into place, the story isn’t about him anymore. It’s about the women—their rage, their damage, their choices. And it’s deeply, darkly satisfying.

Sure, it’s a little weird that they work together. But in this warped emotional ecosystem? It weirdly works. Because sometimes the only person who understands your descent into madness… is someone else who’s already halfway down the staircase.

If you like your thrillers served with a side of psychological warfare and an aftertaste of “I may never trust anyone again,” So Happy Together is your next read. The ending? Let’s just say it doesn’t ask for permission. It grins and drops the mic.

So Happy Together is a fast read. Jane and Colin are a couple of nearly two months until the unfortunate break up. Unfortunate for Jane, that is. She is so head over heels for Colin that every waking minute is consumed with thoughts of him. She begins 'lightly' stalking him. You know, she happens to be at places where they by chance run into each other. Then it turns into something more when she takes a close look at his new girl. This started to give me anxiety while reading about her obsession. Girl, seriously move on! Do NOT go to his birthday party, nothing positive can come from this. I can't stop reading knowing full well what's in store!

It's fun and a little cringe worthy read.

So Happy Together By Olivia Worley

So Happy Together is a fast paced messy chaotic twisty thriller about obsession.

The FMC is very unlikable. At least for most of the story she is. She is obsessed with someone she went on a handful of dates with before he broke it off with her. She is not quite in touch with reality when she makes plans to get him back. I’d say if you like Freida McFadden type books you would like this one.

4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you NetGalley, Olivia Worley, and Minotaur Books for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

This novel is a new fictional thriller, in which the main character Jane becomes obsessed with Colin. I really struggled to build connection with these characters as there was not much character building. The novel focus is on Jane and Colin dating a few times and him breaking up with her however, she will not stop there. There are twisting, turns throughout the noble, however the storyline seems to just be jumbled. I really struggled to follow the story. The book was enjoyable however, I just wish it had been written a little differently.

"It's a beautiful thing, watching someone die. I never understood it until now-except he was wrong, in a way, because no one's dead yet."

Jane is a mid-twenties playwright living in New York who just wants to find love - and she thinks she does when she meets Colin, but after six dates, he breaks things off. When Jane casually bumps into him while he's on another date - with ✨Zoe from Brooklyn✨ - Jane is willing to do anything, including befriending his new girlfriend, to win him back.

SO HAPPY TOGETHER by Olivia Worley was a whirlwind, roller coaster, spinning teacup doozy of a book!

The characters were unlikeable (in the best ways) and the chaos that was stirred up was definitely done through questionable means. If you're looking for a thriller that explores the world of modern dating (in nyc no less) then look no further!

This story was fun, unhinged and, the perfect companion for a weekend binge read (with an IPA on the side).

I've read all of Worley's work at this point and this book has me so excited for what she has coming up for us next!

Thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and Minotaur Books for the early copy for review - out June 3!

3.5 rounded up! It was engaging and I enjoyed the twists. I wish that the characters weren’t all over the place at times to keep me hooked. I also feel like I wasn’t that connected to the male main character to understand why Jane was so obsessed! Overall a good read that I would recommend.

✨So Happy Together by Olivia Worley✨

Genre: Mystery/Thriller
Pages: 304
Pub date: June 3rd

📚For twenty-four-year-old Jane, finding love in New York City is even harder than making it as a playwright. So when Jane meets Colin, she can’t believe her luck: they’re perfect for each other. Even when Colin breaks off their relationship after six dates, Jane knows this is just a stumbling block. She’ll get him back. She knows she will.

That is, until Colin starts dating Zoe—perfect, luminous Zoe. Even worse, she’s actually kind of nice. But Zoe doesn’t have what it takes to love Colin. All Jane has to do is prove it, and they’ll be so happy together.

But when Jane sneaks into Colin’s apartment, she makes a shocking discovery—one that will ensnare them all in a dark web of lies, secrets, and murder.

📝This story is packed with secrets, tension, and that unsettling feeling that something isn’t quite right, but you don’t know why. Jane is an interesting character because you believe what she’s doing is wrong, but you want to see what she finds out.

The ending completely caught me off guard.

Thank you to Minotaur Books and NetGalley for a copy of this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Rounded up from 4.5 stars. THIS ONE IS TWISTY!!!!! I was on the edge of my seat and did not see most of the plot twists coming. I did feel like there were a couple of slow points which resulted in the half star deduction but I was reeling over this book. I liked the characters and how eerie they were. I liked the ending and the reveals. I liked how unreliable every character was. Such a good thriller!

📚 E-ARC BOOK REVIEW 📚

So Happy Together By Olivia Worley
Publication Date: June 3, 2025
Publisher: St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books

📚MY RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
(Rounded Up To 5⭐)

Thank you to St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books, and NetGalley for this #gifted e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

📚MY REVIEW:

So Happy Together is a brilliantly unhinged thriller from one-to-watch author Olivia Worley that is PERFECT for fans of obsessive and twisty psychological thrillers. Its dedication reads "for the girls who get attached a little too quickly," and I was like, say less, I'm in. 🤣

If there's anything I love in my thrillers, it's unhinged madness. So I knew that whatever unhinged character's thoughts were permeating this narration, I was here for it. I sat down, grabbed my coffee, and settled in for the one-sitting wild ride I just signed up for.

This book is told from the perspective of female MC Jane, whose story is shared in both present day and in flashbacks, which created a richer depth to her character arc. Jane's a mess: unhinged, obsessed and maybe a tad crazy. She thought things were perfect with Colin and she can't understand why he ended their relationship. She vows to get him back and after seeing him with another woman, she does what anyone in love would do: she stalks him and the new girl on social media. When she 'bumps into' Colin and his girlfriend Zoe across town, she discovers Colin told Zoe that he & Jane were old college friends...They're not. And before Jane knows it, she and Zoe are becoming fast friends. And as Jane learns more about Colin, she begins to wonder if she ever really knew him at all.

Oooh, this book was salaciously fun! It's the perfect read if you love wondering which character is really who they claim to be and which character is simply best at hiding their crazy. Though I guessed one twist early on, there were so many more twists & turns in the last third of this book that my head was spinning.

This was a fantastically unhinged read that had me hooked from the jump. Fans of gaslighting, unexpected twists, and creepy obsessions in their thrillers are going to want to get their hands on this one immediately. Coming June 3rd!

This is one of those thrillers that hooks you with a totally unhinged premise and keeps the momentum going. Jane falls for a guy, he breaks up with her, and instead of moving on, she decides the best plan is to secretly befriend his new girlfriend. It’s messy, dramatic, and honestly kind of addictive.

The story moves fast, and even when things got a bit over-the-top, I was still into it. It’s not trying to be super deep or realistic, but that works for this kind of book. That said, I do wish the ending hit a bit harder. The dynamic between Jane and Zoe is the real highlight—it’s weirdly intense and hard to look away from. Colin, the guy at the center of the chaos, is completely forgettable, which weirdly adds to the dark humor of the whole thing. Why this guy? It made Jane’s obsession feel almost satirical—intentional or not.

Overall, this was a fun, bingeable read. Great if you’re in the mood for a twisty story with stalking, secrets, and a little commentary on dating culture thrown in. Not perfect, but definitely entertaining.

LOVED! It's been a while since I picked up a book that I was unable to put down like I did with this one. Finished in one day!
Jane is a delusional young woman who falls for Colin. Hard. But Colin just isn't that into Jane. But she is undeterred and knows if she gives him enough time, he'll realize how much he really loves her. In enters Zoe. With Colin on her arm. And when she genuinely wants to befriend Jane, Jane must choose where her loyalties lay between her new best friend and the man she loves. Because there are secrets each one is hiding.

When a girl who's so desperate for love thinks that she's finally found her one and only on an app; only to find out that he moved on after just six dates. To what lengths will Jane go to break up Colin and his new girlfriend? Crazy ones!!

Jane and Colin broke up almost 2 months ago, but every Friday night, she goes out with a date to the same spot Colin took her; hoping to run into him again. When she finally does, Colin's there with his new girlfriend, Zoe. Now Jane thinks that he wants her back, no idea why? But when Zoe befriends her immediately, Colin hates it.

Meanwhile, Zoe has a much more sinister purpose in this story, she's getting justice for her late BFF who died while she dated Colin in college. Now she just needs to lure in Jane as an accomplice.

This book was basically a delusional diary of a girl obsessed with a guy who lost interest in her. I kept hoping the point of view would change, that something would change, but it continued on in the same annoying vein. The author has promise in her writing, but the plot and main character leave much to be desired. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this one. It was fast-paced and left me with a few theories throughout reading if what was going to happen. I caught on to what would be the big reveal of who was behind things by the halfway point but it was still enjoyable to watch it all play out!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the arc and alc.

Unfortunately. compared to Olivia Worley's other books, this one fell flat for me. I had a hard time connecting with the characters and if I am being honest found plot to be confusing to a certain extent. I did like the audiobook narrator though.

This book follows Jane a girl who falls hard for a guy which end up breaking up with her. Naturally, instead of moving on like a sane person, Jane decides the best course of action is to infiltrate his life by befriending his new girlfriend. Casual.

It’s the kind of wild, slightly unhinged plot that makes for a perfect summer beach read: fun, fast, and a little bit bonkers. Sure, the story gets a bit outrageous at times, and the ending didn’t quite stick the landing for me. I was hoping for a more thoughtful take on mental health, but the book breezes past that opportunity.

That said, I loved the deliciously dysfunctional dynamic between Jane and Zoe. Their relationship was twisted in the best way. Colin, the guy at the center of all this chaos? Total snoozefest. Honestly, the fact that Jane was so head-over-heels for this human beige flag was unintentionally hilariou at least I hope it was intentional.

I’m glad I gave this one a shot. It was messy, dramatic, and definitely entertaining. Just don’t go into it expecting depth this one’s all about the drama.

4.5 rounded to 5. This was my first Olivia Worley novel and to say I inhaled this would be an understatement. I started this earlier in the week and finished in three sittings because the narrative was so addicting. The female equivalent of Joe Goldberg perspective really sold me early on and if you like You, I think you’d like this one.

Thrillers are my bread and butter, so I found the big reveal to be a little predictable. HOWEVER, shouting at everyone to add this to their TBR if dark + deranged stories about relationships today are your thing 🙌🏼

This is a gripping psychological thriller that delves into obsession, deception, and the complexities of modern relationships. It's also Worley's adult debut. The story follows Jane, a 24-year-old aspiring playwright in New York City, who becomes fixated on Colin, a software engineer she briefly dated. When Colin starts seeing Zoe, a talented artist, Jane's obsession intensifies, leading her to infiltrate their lives in a bid to reclaim Colin's affection. However, her actions uncover dark secrets that entangle all three characters in a web of lies and murder.
Worley's writing is sharp and immersive, capturing the nuances of emotional manipulation and the dangers of unchecked desire. The novel's pacing keeps readers on edge, with unexpected twists that challenge perceptions and keep the narrative unpredictable. So Happy Together is a compelling read for fans of psychological thrillers, offering a fresh perspective on the complexities of love and obsession in the digital age.
