3.5 stars. While the author wants to compare this to You, I didn't really think it was all that similar. What this book's main character really reminded me of was another book I read (and loved), earlier this year, She's a Lamb!. While that book was about obsessing over the role of Maria in the Sound of Music, and this one was about obsessing over a man, I found the voices of Jane and Jessamyn, in their single-mindedness and delusion, to be very similar, and I couldn't help thinking of that book and comparing. (All that to say, if you liked this book, read that one too! I liked this one, but She's a Lamb was superior IMO.)
I love an unhinged female narrator, so this book was right up my alley. Watching Jane as she wormed her way back into the life of "the love of her life", a man named Colin with whom she went on 6 dates, kept me glued to the story. Jane becomes fast friends with Colin's new girlfriend Zoe, under the premise that she's Colin's friend from college. As she gets closer she begins to wonder if he could be more dangerous than she thought (and whether that would actually bother her...) I thought the first half of the story was stronger than the second--eventually we go from unhinged character study to a rather convoluted plot that wants to throw every single "twisty thriller" trope at us, and it gets to be a bit much. Nevertheless, it was a fun story that kept me totally engaged, so I recommend it to anyone who wants a fast-paced thriller about a slightly delusional, morally gray woman. But give it a pass if you've had it with too many twists for twists' sake. (And read She's A Lamb!)

I was a little weary going in thanks to mixed reviews I had read beforehand. But it had me hooked from the start, so easy to binge through! The main character took us on a wild ride of emotions, ranging from smitten to jealous, paranoid to manipulative and scheming. The main character was delulu and unhinged, and I just kept wanting to say "oh honey" at the alternate reality she seemed to live in, but I could not stop reading about her train wreck. And the twists ended up catching me by surprise, making the book even better as I kept reading! Such a fun thriller!

OMG what an absolutely breathless whirlwind of a novel this is! So well-written and completely enthralling-I was on my toes trying to figure it out right up to the very last page! This book is almost like a three-character play and the plot is intricate and absorbing. There were times when I wanted to reach through the screen and give Jane a little shake, because-LADIES-do NOT fall for overthinking every single word and interaction!! But I feel like most of us are probably guilty of this at one point or another and it propels the story forward quite nicely. What a fantastic mystery and incredible, complex characters. 100% recommend!

So happy together
Jane and Colin are soulmates — he just doesn’t know it yet. When Colin breaks up with Jane, she is willing to do smirking to get him back, including befriending his perfect new girlfriend. But soon this slippery slope leads all three of them into dangerous waters and all any of them can do is try to stay afloat.
This plot sucked me in right away! I love a crazy ex-girlfriend trope, and this one didn’t disappoint.
The main character was a little lackluster, but I found myself turning page after page trying to figure out what exactly her plan was. It was very easy to keep reading with how unhinged Jane’s thoughts and action were becoming. It’s like a train wreck you can’t look away from, but in the best way.
Also can we talk about the cover? It’s the cutest thing ever and what originally made me request the book. Then I found out the author was Olivia Worley and I became even more excited to read it!
Overall I would def give this one a chance! A solid 4 stars from me!
Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC!
I will be updating this with my Instagram link when I post on publication day!

I was so pleasantly surprised by this book! I had taken a pause on reading thrillers because they are just so predictable. And while we saw something coming in this one, it kept me on edge right til the end.
The story follows Jane. From page one you can tell she is absolutely unhinged. Jane is in love with Colin, who broke up with her after only a few days and now her whole life revolves around infiltrating his life and getting him back which leads her to becoming best friends with his new girlfriend, Zoe. What unfolds is a mystery/thrilled of new found friendship, betrayal, absolute stalker behavior, murder, lies... on and on.
What I loved most was the chapters were relatively short, it kept me hooked. I honestly. Could not put this down, consumed in less than 24 hours. And also, I'm just sick of men in general, so **CHEERS** to the completely psychotic females, okay?!
Love the feminine spin on Hamlet. Turns on Shania, "Let's Go Girls!"
Thank you to Netgalley and publishers for the digital ARC. All opinions are my own.

The synopsis of this book sounded a bit crazy (in an interesting way), and boy was that assumption correct.
Jane has to be one of the most chaotic and delusional characters I’ve read. Her stalking of Colin definitely kept me interested, but did feel a bit far-fetched at times, especially as the book progressed. All of the characters felt untrustworthy (and unlikable) to me, and it was hard to tell what was real and what wasn’t at times. I didn’t see the twist the story took towards the end, but felt like it just added to the unbelievable-ness of the whole thing. I’d definitely say this is a popcorn thriller, but nothing too memorable for me.

I really enjoyed So Happy Together by Olivia Worley. In the beginning it gave "You" vibes, but with a female MC, which is really what hooked me. Over the course of the novel, it is clear that it's nothing like "You."
The premise is that Jane is still hung up on her ex, Colin, although maybe I'm wrong here but it didn't seem like they had dated that long. She is essentially stalking him, convinced that she can convince him that they are perfect for each other. Then she finds out he has another girl, Zoe, that he might have started talking to while they were still together. So what does Jane do? She befriends her.
As their friendship grows, Colin becomes more aggravated because Jane keeps hanging around. Jane hints throughout the novel that she knows Colin has hurt a girl before, but she's willing to keep his secret, because she is that obsessed with him. From there, more secrets, phone calls, messages, and evidence keep popping up, making you question "What is really going on here?!" Definitely loved the twists, this one for sure is more of a psychological thriller, than a murder mystery. Even recommended it to a coworker before I finished the book!
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

So Happy Together is an engaging stalker thriller that keeps you guessing until the very end. The story follows Jane, a young woman who moves to New York for a fresh start. After six dates with Colin, he abruptly leaves her, sparking Jane’s obsession. Determined to see him again, she arranges dates at Colin’s favorite restaurant, hoping for a chance encounter. When Colin begins dating Zoe, Jane inserts herself into their lives, befriending Zoe in a way that quickly turns unsettling. As bodies start piling up, the mystery deepens—who among them is responsible for the crimes?
While the premise is compelling, the novel leans heavily into themes of obsession and stalking, making it feel more juvenile than chilling at times. The relentless fixation on Colin overshadows deeper psychological tension, which could have added more complexity to the story. Overall, it's a decent read, though trimming some of the repetitive elements would have strengthened its impact.
Thank you NetGalley and Olivia Worley’s team for the opportunity to read this book and share my thoughts.

If you are looking for a juicy, summer read then can’t recommend this one enough!
As someone who loves dark twists I enjoyed how fast paced it also was. It kept me guessing until the very end. I found the authors writing refreshing and addictive!

I enjoyed this book in the beginning, but I feel like the twists and turns got really convoluted after the 60% mark. I also had it pegged as Zoe super early on as so much of the information she was feeding Jane was so one sided and super obvious to me, this book lacked a reliable red herring.

Jane and Colin have gone on six dates when Colin breaks things off with Jane. Jane is convinced they are meant to be together though and is determined to get him back. Jane goes on numerous random dating app dates hoping Colin will see her and want her again. Her plan is to meet all these random dates at a bar where Colin likes to go so he’ll see her there. The meeting does take place but Colin is on a date with a new woman, Zoe. Zoe takes a liking to Jane and the two start hanging around together and become good friends. Jane sneaks into Colin’s apartment and finds a disturbing discovery. This starts a road of secrets, lies, deaths, plans to trap the guilty, etc. As all this mystery is taking place, we have Zoe putting on an art show and including Jane in it so Jane can present a scene from her play Ophelia. The plot is very jumbled and keeps you guessing where it’s going but for the most part, you can figure out what’s going to happen. The characters left something to be desired - Colin isn’t really given much depth and Jane makes ridiculous choices/decisions, especially once we find out more about her background. This book for me was a decent read but lacking what takes to make it a good or great one. I give the book 3 stars out of 5.

Olivia Worley's So Happy Together is the perfect kind of summer suspense—ideal for poolside reading, airplane journeys, or road trip listening. I was immediately pulled into the story, despite usually steering clear of anything with a "stalker" vibe. This novel, though, is so much more. It’s twisty, it’s steeped in toxic relationships, and it reads like a dark little ode to women, revenge, and even Ophelia. At its core, it’s good old-fashioned “who’s lying?” storytelling.
At times, it felt like an oddly satisfying "FU" to the men who hurt women—carrying a definite he had it coming energy. The pacing is solid, with well-placed twists and reveals that keep the story moving while maintaining just enough uncertainty about what’s really happening—or what has already happened.
I was especially intrigued by how Jane and Zoe explore their connection through Colin, and how one seemingly small lie at the beginning spirals into a full-blown unraveling as their lives collide.

As many know, I love a thriller that is fast-paced and absolutely twisty and this one that and then some!!! This is my first read from this author and for sure I am looking forward to reading more!!! A total binge-worthy read!!
Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review!!!

“So Happy Together” by Olivia Worley is an absolute rollercoaster of a read! The book starts off a bit slow, but stick with it — once the pieces start falling into place, it becomes a real thrill ride. The main heroine was totally nuts — and that’s what made her so compelling. Her descent into paranoia and emotional chaos was fascinating to witness, and the author perfectly conveys how even the most irrational actions can seem reasonable when you’re trapped in a warped reality. Worley explores this idea with unsettling clarity: there’s always a reason, even behind the unreasonable. Highly recommended.

Jane (the narrator) is deeply in her own head—which could work for you if you’re into messy, spiraling female characters. But she’s also unreliable, obsessed, and kind of emotionally detached from reality—which might block the connection readers crave. In this book, Jane is interesting, but not deeply relatable or emotionally available. She’s fascinating to watch but tough to feel with.
Worley's narrative is a compelling blend of dark humor and suspense, drawing comparisons to You and Promising Young Woman. The story explores themes of unrequited love, delusion, and the lengths one might go to for perceived happiness. Jane's character is both unsettling and sympathetic, making readers question their own perceptions of love and obsession.
If you're intrigued by stories that explore the darker sides of love and the human psyche, So Happy Together offers a gripping and thought-provoking read.

💔 T O X I C T H U R S D A Y review 💔 featuring “So Happy Together” by Olivia Worley!
Jane is a struggling playwright in New York City, who edits college admission essays on the side to make money. Without having many friends in the city or parents who are alive, Jane is lonely and desperate to find her soulmate.
So when Jane meets Colin, it’s GAME OVER. She has finally met the love of her life … only Colin doesn’t know it yet. After only 6 dates Colin breaks her heart by suddenly ending things. Jane just doesn’t understand how he could do this to her and begins to question everything. Is Colin hiding from his true feelings?? Was their short love story so intense that he was just being scared?? Jane is determined to get back inside Colin’s life, even if it means befriending his NEW girlfriend Zoe.
I loved the TOXIC love triangle in this book and Jane’s obsession with finding out everything about Colin’s life. With lots of stalker and crazy ex girlfriend vibes, this book is fast paced and in your face with delicious twists, dark secrets and never ending lies!

I wanted to love this I thought the premise was fun and fresh but ultimately I found myself cringing more than anything. I really didn't like our protagonist and with a premise like this I knew she’d be a little nutty but I hoped there would be something endearing about her. I didn’t get that at all instead I got nutty and delusional and annoying. It turned me off from the book and I ultimately ended up dnf’ing

BIG thanks to Minotaur for approval to read this story! I read the first few chapters in the last Minotaur Sampler and was HOOKED on this character!
Jane's character is the driving force of this story. Sister is DELULU and thinks she is in love with Colin. She knows nothing about his history but she is about to find out real quick. I enjoyed so much of this story, from the aspect of Zoe being a manifestation influencer, to the sneaking around that Jane does, this was like Joe Goldberg in female form. There are times you doubt each character's sincerity. I could not read this fast enough to know how this would resolve.
Side note: the audio production of this one is FANTASTIC. The narrator is seriously amazing at bringing Jane to life in your earholes!

So Happy Together had big Crazy Ex-Girlfriend energy. It was quirky, chaotic, and full of messy decisions that had me along for the ride on every page. It was entertaining at times, but the characters and plot didn’t fully click for me. Fun concept, and a quick and easy read!

So Happy Together was unhinged in the best way, and took me on the wildest ride. Hahaha loved this so much!
