Thank you to the author, SMP, Minotaur Books and NetGalley for an eARC! My honest thoughts are below!

I really enjoyed this thriller! It took a much different turn (multiple times) from what I was expecting and kept me guessing. I liked that it was a little unhinged, but not SO much that I couldn’t buy into it. The writing flowed well and it moved at a great, even, pace!

I was pleasantly surprised at the level of female friendship in it- I was expecting it to be primarily about the romantic relationship, but really loved the additional depth we got there. They stole the show for me! I also really liked how the FMC was handled- I was worried ther presentation would come across “crazy stalker” but there was a great amount of exploration into her internal thoughts and emotions!

Some aspects felt a little out of a left field and I would have liked a bit more breadcrumbs or explanation, primarily with Colin’s character. However, this was a minor criticism and I generally had a really great time reading this book! Can’t wait to check out more by this author!

So many twists and turns as the mystery unravels! This one took me a little bit to get into, but once I got past the first few chapters, I couldn’t stop until I knew what happened. For most of the book, I thought I could predict what was going to happen, but once the twists started they just kept coming and I was surprised again and again.

Jane is a playwright, struggling to make it in the world of theater, but also struggling to find a mate…until she meets Colin. They seemed perfect together, but on their sixth date, he sleeps with her, then ghosts her. When she confronts him, he said he wasn’t ready for anything serious, but she soon finds out he’s seriously dating Zoe - a gorgeous, confident artist and “spiritual” TikToker. This girl can’t be right for him, so Jane is going to stick around until Colin realizes his mistake.

Oddly, after initially hating Zoe, the two become good friends. Jane is willing to hang out with Zoe in order to see Colin, and she even starts dating Colin’s roommate, Ben. The setup is perfect: she has a new best friend, and a man who lives with Colin. He can’t escape her now, not while she’s in Zoe’s good graces. Then, during some stalking/snooping, she discovers something that changes everything she knows about her dream man.

I thought this was a great book; it is well-written and the friendship between Jane and Zoe was surprisingly fun. As the story went along, more and more secrets were revealed until a shock of an ending. I think the mystery aspect could have been a bit more suspenseful, but this is a fun read. Four stars!

(Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, Olivia Worley and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on June 3, 2025.)

This was my first book by this author and I loved it! It kept me in a chokehold wanting to know what was going to happen next. There were multiple twists that I did not see coming! I would definitely recommend this book and read something else by this author!

Reading So Happy Together was an absolutely crazy and wild ride. I didn’t know who or what to believe because everyone was far from perfect and slightly unhinged. I may have pieced together the twist before it was revealed, but I was entertained and enjoyed reading it.

I was given an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed above are my own. So Happy Together releases on June 3, 2025.

What started off as a super entertaining and twisted obsession story, quickly turned into an even more twisted story of revenge! I liked this book from the beginning, even if halfway through it felt like I was reading a totally different book. There was so much drama that I couldn't put it down -- tons of pettiness, suspicion and sabotage, which was a ton of fun to read.

Some parts felt a little bit repetitive, and some scenes didn't need to be in the story. There were a few predictable twists and a few really huge shocks. Either way, I was entertained the entire time and eager to see where things were headed!

I've read one other book by Olivia Worley -- THE DEBUTANTES -- and love the drama and chaos in her stories. I'll read more by her, for sure!

I really enjoyed Olivia Worley’s YA Thriller, The Debutantes, when I read it last year. So, I jumped at the chance to read her next thriller early! While the premise sounded so interesting, I ultimately didn’t love how it was executed, so let’s talk about it.

While it’s a fast-paced, short read with well-paced twists, somehow it felt very repetitive to me for the first 80% of the story. Conversely, the last 20% felt so rushed. It was a chaos that had been building since the midpoint that just went off the rails, but not in a good thriller kind of way for me. It left a lot of confusion and some plot points that felt underdeveloped.

On that note, the characters (despite having their secrets) came across as one dimensional to me. I know they weren’t based on all the reveals at the end, but those reveals almost seemed too little too late. I never grew to care for them or truly understand their motives or why they behave the way that they do on a deeper level. We got there the most with Jane, a bit with Zoe, but almost nothing in regards to Colin. Would have loved more depth for all of them earlier on to build more intrigue.

My favorite part of the book though was just how truly delusional Jane was. Seeing how her mind warped certain interactions and completely ignoring red flags was highly entertaining 🚩 She’s obsessed, she’s a stalker and as a playwright she certainly loved a flair for the dramatic. I did feel bad for her at times. She just wanted to be loved even though she wasn't going about it in a healthy way. Her character kept me invested enough to see where her story went, I only wish I’d loved the wild ride.

All that to say, I have heard that the audio is fantastic and really brings Jane’s tone and nature to life 🎧 So maybe give this one a shot on audio if the premise sounds interesting to you! It seems like it works better in this format for a lot of readers, but the physical gets 2.5 stars for me.

This was a quick read, and I anticipated most of the twists and turns in the plot. The FMC is pretty unhinged in a way that made me so frustrated but worked exactly right for the story.

Jane is 24, living in NYC, trying to find love and make it as a playwright. She finds her soulmate in Colin — he just doesn’t know it yet, and since breaking up with Jane has started dating Zoe. What comes next is messy chaos as Zoe and Jane becomes friends and Jane goes out with Colin’s roommate. We soon find out that Jane isn’t the only one hiding things.

If Joe from “You” was a whole lot less violent and purely driven by delusion and trauma, he would be Jane from “So Happy Together.”

While this book isn’t “You” to a T, it did give me those vibes right from the beginning and I found it to be an engaging and enjoyable story with twists and reveals that I didn’t necessarily see coming. I appreciated the glimpse into Jane’s past, but felt it would have benefited her character development to have understood her background sooner in the story. All in all, a solid 4 ⭐️ read and one I’d recommend to fans of mystery-thrillers!

Thank you to Net Galley and Minotaur Books for sending me an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

So Happy Together by Olivia Worley was a letdown. I went in hoping for an engaging story, but the plot felt confusing and all over the place from the start. It lacked clear direction, making it hard to stay invested. The characters didn’t help much either — they felt flat and underdeveloped, with little depth or growth throughout the book.

For most of the story, I was honestly bored. Things didn’t pick up until about 80% of the way through, and by then it felt like too little, too late. Even when the action started, it wasn’t particularly compelling or satisfying. I kept waiting for something to hook me, to make me care, but it never really happened.

I wanted to like this book — the premise had potential — but it just didn’t deliver. Not the worst thing I’ve ever read, but unfortunately not one I’d recommend.

Olivia Worley's upcoming novel, SO HAPPY TOGETHER, is camp, it's messy, it's chaotic, and it's so much fun! This book is my first venture into Worley's writing, but it will not be my last. If you love the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the movie Promising Young Woman, or the books Love Letters to a Serial Killer or YOU, this book will definitely be your jam!

Jane is sure Colin is her soulmate—even if he doesn’t know it yet. When he dumps her and starts dating the seemingly perfect Zoe, Jane is convinced she just has to win him back. But everything changes when she sneaks into his apartment and uncovers a shocking secret that leads to obsession, betrayal, and murder. I'm not going to dive in further, because the best part of this story is how it unfolds.

This book has all the fun, anti-slow burn vibes that I expected it to be. It's pretty predictable, but there was a twist that did catch me off-guard! I read this book in one sitting, so it's definitely safe to say that this is a bingeworthy story! Don't take this book too seriously and you'll have a blast. I know I did!

Breakups are hard. Getting over them is harder. Our obsessive, slightly stalker-ish main character, Jane, wonders why her 6 date relationship ship with Colin has abruptly come to an end. As Jane finds her self getting deeper into finding her way back into Colin’s life, she uncovers secrets, lies, and manipulation that is much more than she bargained for. Thank you NetGalley and St. Martins publishing group for the advanced reading copy!

This is a really quick, engaging thriller. I loved the plot, Jane becomes obsessed with her hinge date Colin. When he breaks things off with her she doesn’t let go, instead befriending his new girlfriend Zoe in hopes she can win him back. Along the way she ends up uncovering some concerning secrets.

I loved being inside Jane’s head this whole story. What I loved about her was she seemed so crazy but also kind of relatable when it comes to online dating.

Great debut adult thriller from Olivia Worley, I also really enjoyed her YA thriller the debutantes!

Thank you so much St. Martins Press and Minotaur Books via NetGalley for the eARC!

3.5 stars. This is an ARC from NetGalley. This book is chalked full of unlikable characters. From the jump you are dealing with an obsessive female living in her own version of the world. It took 3/4th the book to get to the twist, and while a bit predictable, it was a nice change in the narrative. Overall, I wouldn't say this was anything new and inventive, but it was an entertaining quick read. #netgalley #sohappytogether #mentalhealth #mystery #unrealiablenarrative

A twisty, psychological mystery/thriller with a somewhat unexpected reveal. This was a well written thriller with a bit of a mystery & romance written into the storyline. Who is telling the truth? Who do you believe? Those are the main questions that reverberate throughout the story. I had my theories while reading & they were somewhat correct but that didn't take away from the thrill of it & wanting to get to the reveal. Overall, a solid 3-4 star read.

Not going to lie, the story felt a little all over the place. I was engaged mostly, but had a hard time keeping up at some parts. Overall I liked the characters of Jane and Colin, but wish they were developed more. The twists and turns were unpredictable and thrilling to an extent, but also felt lackluster in a way. I wanted more backstory and authenticity, but this kind of gave low grade “You” vibes.

Honestly I was so confused most of this book. But in a good, this is twisted, I’m not sure where it’s going type way. Jane is in love with her ex-boyfriend (of 6 dates), Colin, and believes they are destined to be together. She befriends his current girlfriend, Zoe, and from there her obsession only grows. Only, other things are not what they seem and she must decide is staying the course to get back with her one true love is worth it.

It’s a roller coaster of crazy and I enjoyed every minute.

I liked the premise of this book and thought it was a creepy idea. I did not enjoy the random comments about white people spread throughout the book. They weren't necessary to the story whatsoever. I liked the characters and how messy they were. I liked the twist at the end, but also saw it coming a mile away.

SO HAPPY TOGETHER
THRILLER/MYSTERY

Rating: 3.8 stars

Read if:
- like the tv show YOU
- enjoy books that leaves you wondering
- have fallen in love too fast from Hinge
- like domestic thrillers, think unhinged stalker

My thoughts:
The opening line to this book is, "It's a beautiful thing watching someone die". If you're anything like me and into the dark books, it drew me in IMMEDIATELY! There is something really interesting to me about a completely unhinged, slightly stalker-ish character, and she is. At some point in the story, it does become obvious that it's a trauma response, but my goodness! The playlist that reminds her of him, the fake instagram accounts, or the "he just wants to play hard to get" while ignoring her is truly entertainment.

This would have had a higher rating for me, because I DEVOURED the last two chapters, but there were several sections that were really confusing. Who is texting who? WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY?? I had to reread and it still didn't make total sense.

This one is going to keep you on your toes and make you read quickly to figure out where the shoe drops and who is really bad.

Thank you St. Martins Press for the gifted eARC!

An obsessive woman who will do anything to get back together with her ex is befriended by his new girlfriend. Jane is convinced that her life will be complete once she reunites with her "soulmate" ex-boyfriend. Instead she forms an unlikely friendship with his current girlfriend. I really enjoyed the first two thirds of this. Jane's complex character is well-developed and fascinating. I felt that the plot took some interesting turns until a complete about face at the end. The end didn't completely work for me. I think it is a little implausible became kind of complicated. However, this was still an enjoyable, entertaining read. For fans of Megan Abbott and Lisa Jewell.
