So Happy Together follows Jane and her obsession with her ex, Colin. Jane was an unreliable narrator & constantly had me wondering what was actually going on.
So Happy Together was a quick, easy read that had me hooked the entire time. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a thriller that isn’t too complicated to follow and could easily be binged in one sitting.
Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for providing me this advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Why is it that when a man obsessively stalks a woman in a book, it's considered darkly romantic but when a woman does it, she seems unhinged? That's the question I kept asking myself as I read this book.
Enter Jane… a woman fixated on her ex, Colin, to an unsettling degree. She's determined to stay in his life, no matter what it takes and who she needs to get rid of. But when she uncovers the truth about who Colin really is, her obsessive behavior may start to seem more justified than I expected.
I was drawn in by the raw, gritiness of these characters. At times, I genuinely feared for everyone’s safety as Jane seemed always on the verge of snapping. But the real twist? By the end, she might just be the most rational one of them all. That unexpected twist in the narrative is exactly the kind of twist I live for.

Jane has been dating Colin and thinks it’s been going well until he calls it off saying he isn’t ready for something serious. Colin then starts dating Zoe, even worse Jane finds Zoe really nice. Jane just needs to prove to Colin she is his soulmate and Zoe is not right for him.
This book exceeded my expectations, I was engaged the whole time and wanted to keep reading until the end. I really liked the single white female vibes and the twists were not overly easy to guess. The character development was great and I found I liked all the characters when I was supposed to and disliked the ones when I was meant too. This was a fun read.

Give me a book with an unreliable narrator and I'm SAT! A book with multiple unreliable narrators?! I'm hooked from the start. This was my first Olivia Worley book and it didn't disappoint. This book had a strong plot that kept me wanting to turn every page & not put the book down. The character development was top tier and done so well! I loved getting to see the friendship between Jane and Zoe unfold. The messier the better in my opinion! I can't wait to read more from Olivia Worley!

I was so caught up in the novel that I kept read this compelling book. The story is full of twists that kept me from doing anything but read. It is a shocking mystery.

What I Liked:
1. Story flows
2. Unhinged woman
3. Stalker vibes
What I Didn't Like:
1. Basic characters with the same personalities as other books
2. Ridiculous scenarios
Overall Thoughts:
{{Disclaimer: I write my review as I read}}
Jesus who would even want Colin back? He broke up with her as soon as she slept with him. Like the next day he ignored her. He's trash and needs burned. There is zero way I would have sided with him in front of his new gf.
I hate that Jane is mad at Zoe. Zoe is blindsided by all of these things too and is only being lied to by Colin. She's a victim too.
God, I am so annoyed that Jane was so close to Colin and talking to him but she never once asks him why he ignored her after they had sex. The one question she keeps asking herself and wanting to know from him and she doesn't ask it.
Jane keeps mentioning how much Colin was into her and everything she was saying but she can't put it together that was love bombing her and acting interested just to
Jane not knowing that Colin has a pass code on his phone is crazy. Did she never in the two months they were together she never saw him enter one into his phone??
I keep wanting to give Jane the benefit of doubt but she's been hanging around Zoe and Colin for a little bit now so why is she still wanting Colin? I'd rather have my friendship with Zoe any day VS wanting to be in a relationship with Colin. There is nothing special about Colin. Zoe on the other hand is such a great friend.
The odd things about books like these where the other woman becomes friends with the unhinged ex is that they never seem to have other friends. How is Zoe such a fantastic person but she has no friends of her own. She lives only to be with Colin and doing whatever his friends want to do. So far Zoe has taken Jane as her friend because I'm assuming she has no other friends. It's just like how is that possible. Zoe is mid 20s with a great personality but she has not even one best friend...
Zoey even leaving the party and choosing Jane over Colin when she sees him push her. What a great person.
I rolled my eyes so hard when they set up a meeting with Lee but Colin showed up. He hacked
{{hacks be like I'm in gif}}
into Lee's account and met up with Joan in the middle of the night. Of course oddly enough Zoe is running behind and doesn't make it to this meeting so Joan calls her to tell her that Lee didn't show up and don't bother coming so she can run off and have sex with Colin. I don't understand this don't even said the sex was pretty basic. I don't get it basic man basic sex what is she chasing after?
Speaking of this Lee person canceling story Jane told Zoey how was Lee able to tell Jane in this lie that she wasn't going? They didn't exchange numbers and Zoey I'm sure of it didn't tag Jane in the dm or give her full name since that would be weird.
{{that's weird gif}}
Why wouldn't Zoey question this more?
Why does everyone keep going to Jane when she is the "friend" of Colin's? Wouldn't they talk to someone else that isn't a friend of him when they have a problem with him? It doesn't make any sense. Ben has other friends why would he want to talk to Jane about something he found.
Okay so let's just say that Zoey is the one all behind these things. Ben is now dead and she sent the text to Jane to come over. Now she seems to wanting to pin it on Colin so hard.
Ben was just murdered and they are already doing a funeral. Aren't they doing a autopsy? Ben died under suspicious circumstances. Place a funeral the next day after he dies is crazy. Plus Colin is a suspect in a murder. They aren't going to let him leave town let alone the state.
There has so little background to who Jane is when suddenly we get 75% done with the book and we get that her father was abusive and made that she did not kill a deer. I wish we could gotten more backgrounds on the characters. Everything felt surface level.
Ohhhh we find out that Zoey was actually friends with Lee from her hometown and Lee met Colin at college. Colin emotionally beat her down and made her withdrawn. For some reason I guess Zoey decided to get back at him... By giving him a good relationship hahaha.
The whole ending is pretty ridiculous. The fact that Zoe could manage to move a man and he was drugged up so he was like dead weight but because he's on the thinner side it was easier for her to do when she's probably like 120 lbs it's just crazy to me. Oh and then she's able to do it without anybody even seeing her when this is her Art Exhibit. Then add in to the ending that they murder Colin and no one comes looking after him they just managed to make a whole confession letter saying he killed Lee and Ben. Then then somehow they get away with his murder which it's never really fully explainedHow they managed to hide his body and get away with it. Just no explanation. We just jumped three months into the future and everything's hunky-dory peachy keen. Don't skip over the ending. Don't just like pretend like we don't need to know what went down and how you did it because that's a rip off to readers
{{Ya Ya Seinfeld gif}}
Look at that Zoe lied and was really a killer. I've never seen that in a thriller before... Don't worry though because Jane is okay with the fact that Zoe killed Ben but not when she thought Colin killed Lee - even though he didn't. Double standards much? I guess it's okay because Jane killed her father and got away with it too. No one gets caught for murder in this book.
Final Thoughts:
This was your basic thriller that doesn't give anything more than any other thriller na hasn't given you before.I enjoyed the stalker vibes and the tone of the book. Despite Zoe being a killer I still liked her and that she stuck up for Jane - yes, she had an end game I know. Jane was a terrible person.
Book was just okay. Honestly I will probably forget this one in a few years.

Thanks to Minotaur Books and Netgalley for this advanced copy of the. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I can't recommend it enough! I really enjoyed this book, I couldn't put it down, I finished it in a couple of days!

Thank you to Macmillan Audio for an ALC, and St Martins Press and Minotaur Books for an ARC of this novel. Here are my thoughts!
Jane is trying to find love in New York, and she thinks she has found it with Colin but after 3 months of dating, he breaks up with her. Soon Colin is dating Zoe, a super cool wellness influencer. Jane ends up befriending Zoe with secret hopes of rekindling her romance with Colin, for surely, he is her one true love, right?
I mostly listened to the audiobook for this one and I loved the narrator, Michelle H. Lee. She captured the unhinged desperation of Jane perfectly. When I started reading this, I read it with almost a humorous mindset as to how crazy Jane was. As you read on, you learn more about Jane’s past and I started really liking her. I even questioned if she was crazy or a product of her environment. I couldn’t stop reading and listening.
The plot itself was a little slow as the focus is mainly on Jane, but the highs of the plot stood out and felt unexpected and original. This is my second Olivia Worley book, and I didn’t love the first one I read so I was super happy when I finished this one and felt very happy with what I had just read.
The characters are a little stereotypical, but they have some intrigue and variety added to them that make them a little more unique. There are some violent twists that I should probably warn about, or you could just read it and see for yourself!

So Happy Together was a delightful surprise. I love thriller novels, but I am also very picky, so I was pleased to see that this book followed through in a lot of areas. I did feel like there were some areas that felt a little inconsistent, but like I said, I am super picky. =] All in all, this was a fantastic read! =] Thank you to St. Martin's Press | Minotaur Books and NetGalley for the early read!

Okay, I loved this. Definitely inspired by "You," "So Happy Together" was such a thrill. I loved the tension, build up, confusion, suspense. Win win win.
Cover - it's cute, but way too feminine and has NOTHING to do with the story. Like, no Valentine's Day, no cutesy sweetness, just really doesn't fit. I also kind of got date-rape drug vibes from the cover (thank goodness I was way off on that) which probably would have turned me off if I saw it on a table at a store. I'm no cover designer, but I feel like an image of a bloody knife in a sock drawer, or a pair of dark eyes coming from an top floor window would have been more appropriate. Should I be a cover designer??
Plot - This was such a quick read for me. I'm so hit or miss with thrillers but like "You" I was so hooked. I was guessing the whole way through. I will say that there was some...inconsistencies that didn't really sit with me well. Like, Jane was OBSESSED with Colin. Willing to help him cover up a murder, but then completely sided with his GF in screwing him over at the end? It's like her crazy level peaked at the beginning, but then she became pretty rational by the end. I feel like it would have made more sense for Jane, blinded and compelled by obsession, to team up with Colin and kill Zoe, having this Bonnie and Clyde crime-fueled passion/romance. Or maybe her obsession turns towards Zoe and she begins to obsess over her? I dunno, the two girls just being la-la friends seems too normal for such crazy people.
Would still recommend and has been one of the more captivating reads of 2025 for me, as scattered as it was.

I enjoyed this book and really thought that the story was well fleshed out. The characters were intriguing and their interactions and stories kept you guessing throughout. I was able to figure out the central twist fairly early on but this did not deter me a bit from getting to the conclusion of the story.
The writing style was great for me as well and was easy to follow without jumping around too much and taking you out of the story.
I would definitely like to see more works from this author and this kept me captivated throughout without overextending it's welcome

Twenty-four-year-old aspiring playwright Jane Williams thinks she’s met her soul mate, Colin Hillgrove. The problem is that Colin doesn’t feel the same way. In fact, he broke up with her after six dates in less than two months. Even after such a short period of time, Jane feels that he is “the one” and is determined to convince him of the same.
Jane stalks him endlessly. She visits Colin’s favorite East Village spot and finds him with a woman, Zoe Ember, who he seems to be quite enamored with. Jane endears herself to this new girlfriend, and you can imagine what is about to happen. But you really don’t. This sounds very “fatal attraction”-esque but I figured that it had been done so many times before that there must be a twist.
I was wrong. There was not just one twist, but multiple…even to the very end. I was glued to every page from the beginning and couldn’t put the book down. Author Olivia Worley meticulously structures the story where you learn about the characters and their pasts little by little. However, there is no redundancy as each detail is essential to the plot. Not only are the characters and plot riveting, but also the setting of single life in New York City.
Those who enjoy psychological thrillers are sure to find So Happy Together exciting and captivating. I hope to read more from this author.

An engaging and twisty book!
This one kept me captivated, and I was pleasantly surprised by the single point of view! Normally, I prefer multiple perspectives, but I found that having just one for this narrative really suited it. I appreciated the pacing, the length of the chapters, and all the characters.
I decided on 4 stars because the story wasn't the most unique, so it didn't completely astonish me with its twists, but it was still an excellent read that I would certainly recommend.

Jane and Colin are meant for each other…. Right? When he breaks things off after 6 dates, Jane will stop at nothing to prove to him that they belong together. She befriends his new girlfriend and what follows next was a crazy and wild ride!
This book took me in so many different directions. I was confused for a minute until things started clicking in place and then my jaw dropped! How far will Jane go to be with Colin? Is he the guy she thinks he is? And how does her new best friend (his new girlfriend) fit into all of this? I have to say this was a fun tale of friendship, love, betrayal, secrets and murder!

Many thanks to St Martin’s Press, Minotaur Books, Macmillan Audio, and NetGalley for early access in exchange for my honest opinion.
So Happy Together is quite the rollercoaster! It's a great mix of one-sided attraction, obsession, delusion, and thriller with just enough murder to keep the reader on their toes. I mostly listened to the audiobook, but followed along in my ebook copy, too. As with any thriller, I don't want to give too much away, because I think it's best to head in mostly blind. But I finished this one pretty quickly, as I really needed to know what happened. The beginning was a bit confusing as it jumps right into the head of a character’s crazy, but it comes together and makes sense if you stick with it for a few chapters before setting it down. I recommend checking it out!

So Happy Together by Olivia Worley is a novel of obsession. A novel set in NYC it tells the story of Jane, a would be playwright who thinks she finds love on a dating app. After 6 dates Colen breaks it off. He. starts dating Zoe, who is an artist.
I couldn't relate to any of the characters, but the story had lots of lying, murder secrets and obsessing. It was certainly an interesting read

I’ll start by saying I do love Worley’s writing style. It’s strong and definitely keeps you engaged. But… unfortunately,I did not enjoy this book. I was just so… I don’t know , confused, throughout?! And was so exhausted by the end. I wish it would have wrapped everything together a little better. Possibly touched base on mental health rep more (ummmm hello??).

We’ve all personally, or via someone we know, experienced that gut-wrenching breakup that tears you up—after several dates, you felt you were totally vibing with the other person, beginning to envision where the next step could take you, and then they just drop the bomb that it’s not going to work… right? And we’d desperately do anything to change their mind?
Meet Jane. Our lovesick playwright, who met Colin, and felt an instant connection. After six great dates, they sleep together… anddd then Colin ghosts + dumps her. But Jane can’t let him go and is convinced they belong together. So she devises a plan to *coincidentally* run into Colin, arranging to be on a date with another guy, when she sees him again. What she doesn’t expect is that Colin is also on a date with a new girl, Zoe: a beautiful, poised, up-and-coming artist. Everything that Jane isn’t. But this doesn’t deter her. She firmly believes she can win Colin back and that they’re destined to be together, even as she begins to form a friendship with Zoe. The truth will eventually come out and Zoe will have to understand; she can’t possibly deny fate! But this love triangle may not be entirely what Jane bargained for..
AH I LOVED THIS. Soooo addictive! Jane is def delusional, giving all the Joe vibes from “You,” but I couldn’t stop. Her obsession with Colin was painful, but all part of the story. I enjoyed Zoe’s character too, but would have liked a little more development in Colin’s character tbh. Loved the twists; the book def took a turn, or maybe even several turns, that I didn’t expect, so I had a lot of fun reading this. Not your standard or typical thriller, so yes! Recommend!!! 💕👏🏼

Apparently when I received a widget for this book I wasn't paying attention because I thought it was a rom-com or romance. Yeah.....it's not. It's a story about a girl who becomes obsessed with a guy she dated.
This book was different. (Not just because it was different than I was expecting as far as genre.) It's was a thriller but didn't come across as one at times. The story definitely had potential to be very dark but didn't venture too far to the dark side. It just kind of stayed in a grey zone.
As far as characters go I thought they weren't very complex. Zoe was my favorite and seemed the most realistic. Colin was just there.
All in all this wasn't a bad book. Not the best I've read but not a struggle to read either.

Thank you to Minotaur for the ARC!
Jane is kind of a loner in the Big Apple. She doesn’t have many friends and her relationships haven’t gone well. Until Colin. He is absolutely her soulmate and they have a great time together. Until they aren’t just a few short weeks later and Colin calls it off. Beside herself with grief and confusion, Jane takes to following him and setting up ‘random’ encounters in hopes that he’ll see her and remember what they had together.
The night that she finally catches his eye, however, he’s with a new girl - the enigmatic and gorgeous Zoe. And it’s obvious that this is not a first date. Fortunately and unfortunately for her, Zoe immediately befriends Jane, both giving her access to Colin, but also throwing a wrench in her plans to get him back, as she genuinely starts to like Zoe the more time they spend together.
That is a summary of a portion of the plot, you can find more details on Goodreads, Amazon, etc, however I would absolutely go into this one as blind as possible because it is a wild one.
Whew. I’m not sure if I’ve ever read something as slow motion train wreck as Jane in my entire life. I literally could not look away. I also had a lot of trouble rooting for her, which is strange for me. I do tend to go for the morally grey and if I can’t root for them I’m not usually a fan of the story - this is absolutely an exception to the rule. I loved this insane book. And the plot twist just sent me, securing a five star rating for sure.
Despite this being what would maybe be considered a popcorn thriller (which is NOT a bad thing and I’m not sure why it has such negative connotations in certain circles) there are some pretty poetic lines throughout, elevating what is a ‘quick and fun summer thriller’ to writing that resonates. For example, “Brightly lit windows are a portal into the surrounding luxury apartments and office buildings, and I’m stunned at how few of them have curtains, like they don’t care who sees them, so long as we’re elite enough to reach their heights”
Even though we have a character or two who is batshit crazy and from Jane’s perspective, the friendship is a ploy to ultimately get to Colin, I think Olivia does a great job at bringing attention to female friendships and how… honestly, how weird they really can be. Zoe’s exterior presentation is so different from how she feels on the inside, masking insecurities and worry about her boyfriend, but not thinking twice about throwing herself fully into a friendship with Olivia. There’s something about that which I absolutely love and admire in her character, because one of my biggest areas of hesitancy to be vulnerable has been in new female friendships. (I’m pretty sure I am correct in that, given Jane’s hidden ulterior motives LOL). I just really enjoy when a book, a thriller especially, can tackle the complexities of female friendships and how difficult it can truly be to make connections when it seems like we all have walls up in one way or another. It adds a layer to the toxic friendship trope that I love so much.
This isn’t my first Olivia book, but it is my favorite. Available on KU, I highly suggest grabbing this one ASAP.
