This book was weird. It was about disillusionment and the confusing confines of love. It goes to a dark and strange place and combined that with self discovery elements. It was not really for me but I could see what the author was trying to do.

First we meet Jane who you just know is a little off her rocker and stalking someone she dated 6 times! (Girl!) Then we meet Colin and hear him come across as short tempered and angry. You start to wonder who is more crazy, Colin or Jane! Throw Zoe into the mix and this is a book of characters, literally! While the book was slow to start, I did get pulled in and just wanted to know what was going on. Liked the ending and twists and turns but, come on, who would really be like Jane?! 4 stars for lack of being able to believe in someone like Jane. As always a big thank you to @netgalley for another great ARC! This would be a great vacation or beach read!

Olivia Worley delivers a sharp, twisty thriller about obsession, delusion, and the lies we tell ourselves in the name of love. Jane, an unhinged and irresistible narrator, is convinced her six-date ex is her soulmate—and nothing, not even his new influencer girlfriend, will stop her.
Worley’s writing is fast-paced and darkly funny, with Jane’s unreliable voice pulling you in deep. The twists come hard and fast in the final act, and while the feminist themes get a bit lost in the chaos, it’s still a gripping, messy thrill ride you won’t want to put down.

3.75 stars rounded up! SO HAPPY TOGETHER is a twisty, unputdownable thriller that had me hooked immediately. 24-year-old Jane is struggling to make it in New York City—both as a playwright and in the dating world. When she meets Colin, a sweet software engineer, it just seems meant to be...until he breaks things off after just a few dates, and subsequently starts dating charismatic artist Zoe. Determined to win Colin back and prove that they'll be "so happy together," Jane develops a friendship with Zoe to score a front-row seat to her and Colin's relationship. Only, Jane starts to like Zoe more than she expected she would, and she hasn't had a true friend in years. But is Zoe everything she seems? And what will happen when Jane sneaks into Colin's apartment, making an unexpected discovery that could draw the characters into a tangled, dangerous web of lies, secrets, and murder?
Olivia Worley is a pro at creating unreliable narrators, and unlikable characters who you sometimes feel frustrated with, yet you just can't look away from their antics! I felt like the pacing of the story was a little slow initially, but I enjoyed how that really allowed for readers to get to know Jane, her world, her thought processes. Then once all the different twists and turns were introduced, they kept me guessing until the very end! Both Jane and Zoe are interesting, layered characters that will have you constantly questioning their motivations, wondering who to believe. Colin felt a little underdeveloped in comparison, but I think in some ways, that was almost part of the point. It shows how when you're so infatuated with someone, you'll build them up in your head and create this whole picture of who you think they are, how compatible you think you are...and then it turns out that maybe they're not all that interesting lol. Worley also does a great job of developing the story's setting and feel! She nails the NYC, Gen Z vibes throughout, with every little detail and reference. Overall, if you love thrillers and are looking for a unique take on some seemingly-familiar tropes, you'll definitely want to add this one to your TBR! It comes out in June, making it a great choice to take to the beach this summer. Thank you to NetGalley, St. Martin's Press, and Minotaur Books for the ARC.

So Happy Together delivers exactly what it promises—a twisty, addictive ride full of secrets, obsessions, and revenge. The plot kept me guessing, with just the right amount of tension and drama to keep me hooked from start to finish. Every reveal added a new layer, and just when I thought I had it figured out, it surprised me again.

Think Crazy Ex-Girlfriend but with some Freida McFadden twists thrown in. Meet Jane, she definitely has some issues. She went on 6 amazing dates with Colin but then he broke up with her. She just knows he’s the one and wants to win him back. After running into him and his new girlfriend Zoe a few times Zoe and Jane become friends and they start to find out some alarming things about Colin. Poor Jane, girls got it bad and she’s a mess. You will have second hand embarrassment for Jane. You will hate some of the decisions she makes but go along for the ride it’s a crazy one. I had a lot of fun with this book! Thank you NetGalley and Minotaur for the ARC!

Thank you for the ARC !
This book was amazing ! It got me hooked right from the beginning. I loved following Jane’s story and trying to figure out the ending . I definitely was surprised . 5 stars !

Finished this within three days of receiving it, wow. It's similar to the TV series "You" because of the protagonist.
+ Short chapters and easy to read
+ Psychological thrill done well
+ Twist is decent
- Disturbing to read. Maybe that could be a plus for some people.
- Lack of real consequences.
- Ending is rushed.
- Backstory thrown in too late into the book
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for providing me an early copy to read!

LOVED this. I loved the flawed yet realistic characters (seriously, Jane can obsess almost as much as I can!), the twisty plot, everything. What a fantastic novel. I read it in two days and actually skived off work to read it!
Jane is convinced that Colin is her soulmate. Yet, after six dates, he dumps her. When he gets together with Zoe, she ends up befriending Zoe... and finding out more about Colin's past than she expected.
Thanks to NetGalley for the free review copy!

Always love a good obsession thriller. This one continued to keep me guessing up until the last page with multiple twists and turns.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press/Minotaur Books for this ARC of So Happy Together by Olivia Worley.
I love thriller books featuring crazy women! And obsessive love. This was an automatic request for me. It did not disappoint!
I love the irreverent voice of Olivia Worley’s MFC, Jane. She sees all of life’s daily little hypocrisies and pretensions (even her own), astute - or often delusional - to the subtext of human interaction. The author’s writing style is easy to fall into and her chapters propulsive. Jane’s unreliable mind riveted me.
Jane is the obsessive stalker of her six-date ex, Colin.
She “*knows* him,” and she is going to make sure he regrets dumping her. His present Influencer girlfriend Zoe provides a link to Colin for Jane, via their new friendship.
Soon the three of them are enmeshed in a web of lies, secrets, and mystery.
This book so well captures the ethereal beauty of love, and of the despair when unrequited. Of what it feels like to feel special in a mass of unfeeling people on an app or in a city.
Jane is adept at deluding herself from the latter to the former.
I have read some reviews expressing confusion about what made Colin so special; he was just an ordinary guy over six ordinary dates.
The answer is *Limerence.* Jane’s love is all in her own head. Some part of her brain occasionally recognizes this but she quickly silences it: “…but no. No.” And in the words of her tragic mother, “Love is a choice.”
Jane sticks with her choice after she and Zoe find evidence that Colin might not be who he seems. Can she and Zoe delude themselves against their discoveries? Who is real?
Then, so many twists zig-zagged the story that I had dry eyes by the time I reached the end. I could not stop reading, and when the story finally released me with its end, I just stared into space contemplating which monster most deserved my empathy.
Four stars.

I enjoyed So Happy Together right up until the very uncomfortable play of Ophelia and the final confrontation, which didn’t quite make sense to me. Up to that point, it was a wild, twisty ride—fun, freaky, and dripping with Caroline Kepnes vibes. The obsessive undertones felt straight out of You. I couldn’t help thinking of Joe Goldberg the entire time. Especially since it’s set in NYC and the main character is named Jane—not to mention Zoe. (Jane/Joe/Zoe? Come on.)
But in hindsight, if I compare it to Kepnes’s You, So Happy Together falls short in terms of character depth. I never really got to know Colin, which made it hard to root for the “happily ever after” Jane is so obsessed with. Nothing about him made me like him. So, by the end, her obsession just felt neurotic and messy.
I was set on giving this 4 stars, but after sitting with it, I’m leaning more toward 3.5—rounded up to 4, because Worley’s prose is easy and effectively draws you into the narrative.
Thanks to NG and Minotaur Books for the ARC.

I really really wanted to love it based on the given synopsis! I think this author has great writing style and the story had potential, but the structure was very confusing to follow. I thought there were almost too many twists involved which led to the confusion and I could not stayed interested invested. Jane was hard to enjoy and as a character really bothered me most of the time. Colin also seemed meh and I wasn’t sure why she was so motivated for him. Overall, there was just too much going on for me here!

What an amazing story! I couldn’t put it down. There were just enough twists and turns to keep me guessing without being confusing. As soon as I thought I had it figured out, there was another twist. I am kind of expecting another twist! :)
The characters were well-developed and the author revealed just what you needed to know at that time to understand what was going on. Each of the relationships—Zoe and Jane, Zoe and Colin, Jane and Colin, Jane and Ben—were well thought out and convincingly real.

If you think love is chaotic, So Happy Together shows just how wild obsession can get when it pretends to be romance.
Jane, a struggling playwright in NYC, meets charming Colin and believes it’s fate. But after just six dates, Colin bails, and Jane decides not to give up. What starts as heartbreak spirals into obsession, especially when Colin begins dating perfect Zoe. Jane feels compelled to save him from what she sees as the wrong relationship, and things quickly escalate.
When Jane breaks into Colin’s apartment, she uncovers a shocking secret that turns the story into psychological horror. If you loved You or Gone Girl, you’ll be hooked.
Worley captures the modern dating scene, loneliness, and how easily obsession can masquerade as love. So Happy Together is a darkly feminist cautionary tale about love, delusion, and justifying the unforgivable. Buckle up—it’ll keep you guessing and won’t let go.

✨Thank you @NetGalley and @minotaur_books for providing me with an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
✨Twenty-four year old Kate is having a hard time with the fact that shes been dumped after 6 dates, for she thought things were going swimmingly with Colin. She will get him back. She knows she will.
✨Kate decides to plant herself in Colin’s wake every chance she gets, but is humbled when she spots him with new girlfriend, Zoe. Zoe with the fantastic bod and supermodel face. Zoe the Tiktok influencer. Zoe the boyfriend stealer.
✨When someone from Colin’s past resurfaces and a murder slowly starts being uncovered, a more sinister game is at play, and Kate and Zoe are only the chess pieces being moved in the larger scheme of things.
✨I love books with a distorted view of reality and unreliable narrator, which this 100% is. This gave me Kepnes’ “You” creepy vibes, and Megan Collins’ “Cross My Heart” fatal attraction desperation in a perfectly wrapped bundle. I flew through this and you will too! A must read for summer!

So happy together, is mystery book of obsessions and revenge. No other person can be your Ophelia. This book will keep you reading into the night

This was a pretty quick read once you got past the beginning which was a little slow. It was a good thriller and it gave off “You” vibes.

I loved both of Worley’s YA novels, especially The Debutantes. Her adult debut does not disappoint!
Jane is such a flawed main character and also extraordinarily complex. Yes, she wants Colin and will do almost anything, overlook just about anything, to get him back, but, she is also not lacking in empathy. She genuinely likes Zoe and doesn’t want her to be hurt. The dynamic between Zoe and Jane was my favorite part of the novel - one a New York It girl, the other just trying to find and hold on to love, whatever it takes - the definition of opposites attract. It was fun to see how their bond evolved as the plot progressed.
I thought Worley did a great job conveying every character’s interests and motivations. There’s so many twists at the end that elevate the story all that much more. This book is definitely one you’ll want to add to your list!

I really really wanted to love this one. But. I could not get into this at all. I struggle and struggled to pick this one back up.
Sadly, just wasn't for me. Thank you to St. Martin's for my copy.
