Well that was... interesting. So Happy Together is a twisted tale of love, murder, and deception. Jane loves Colin in a stalkerish way, befriends his new girlfriend Zoe, and then the real fun begins. Jane is desperate to get Colin back, but Colin may not be exactly who he seems. Zoe and Jane embark on an unlikely friendship and alliance to find out who Colin really is.
This book was mostly a quick read and a fun ride. It vibes way more YA than thriller. Some parts got a little repetitive. The whole story requires suspending disbelief -- some reveals are way too convenient and people play into each others' hands way too easily. The story of a bunch of young, beautiful murderers is not realistic in the least bit, so if you don't expect it to be you may really enjoy this story.

This book was such a great read! I could not put this book down. I could feel Jane’s obsession like it was my own. I could not get to the end fast enough to see where the story took me.

Thank you to Olivia Worley, Minotaur Books, and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
I love the cover of the book so much! Unfortunately, I didn't like what was inside this book that much. I felt like the characters lacked depth, especially Colin.

Jane meets Colin on a dating app and knows he’s her perfect match “forever “. But after six dates, Colin breaks it off without explanation leaving Jane frantic. One night while Jane is on another date with another man she sees Colin with another woman (Zoe). Slowly Jane works herself in to Zoe’s life becoming her new best friend. Soon Zoe is inviting Jane to her and Colin’s apartment, social functions and personal life. Jane has always believed Colin still wants to be with her and that she can convince Colin to stop dating Zoe. Will Jane’s obsession with Colin win out or will it be the end of all three of them?

So Happy Together is a twisty and dramatic Social Thriller that should be read as a warning about the potential hazards in modern dating. Singletons listen up!!
This story follows Jane, a 24-year old, aspiring NYC-playwright. Jane meets Colin, her perfect person, via a dating app. She can hardly believe her luck. He's too perfect. Sadly, he breaks things off after only 6-dates. Jane doesn't see it as forever though, just a bump in the road of their longer term relationship. She'll do anything to make it so.
Then Colin starts dating Zoe, a up-and-coming New York artist, who also appears to be quite successful in various online space as an artistic influencer. Zoe may have a lot, but Jane knows Zoe will never be able to love Colin like she can, but what's she willing to do about it?
I enjoyed this novel quite a bit. The audiobook was well narrated and kept me engaged during a very long solo road trip. Nevertheless, the story itself was a bit of a mixed bag for me, particularly in the second-half. The beginning was super engaging and gripping, but the further it went, the more it started to lose my attention. It almost got too twisty, if that's possible?
With this being said, I did still enjoy quite a few of the twists thrown into this wild tale. Also, I appreciated the risks the author took with the story. It's not your typical Dramatic Thriller and actually went a lot darker than I expected.
I think for me, the most difficult area was towards the end. There were so many things popping up, and some were hard to track, so it felt muddled. I'm still not entirely sure I understand how exactly everything played out. I think where the author really succeeded here was with the creation of the characters. I love an unreliable narrator, and Jane seemed like one, but she wasn't the only character in this story who you couldn't necessarily believe.
I liked how the author played with the abundant psychological manipulations of this cast of characters. It had me doubting everyone, and I sort of love that. I also really enjoyed the New York setting, and just that whole feel of being a young person, transplated to NYC, trying to make a go of it. You're amongst millions of people, but it can be such a solitary endeavor.
Overall, I definitely vibe with Worley's ideas and character work, even if the execution wasn't perfect in this one. This is the 2nd-novel I have read from this author, and I'm definitely excited to read more. You never really know what you're going to get.
Thank you so much to the publisher, Minotaur Books and Macmillan Audio, for providing me with copies to read and review. I do recommend the audiobook. Michelle H. Lee's narration was perfect for Jane's perspective. Again, while this wasn't a flawless novel, I still found it to be a lot of fun and appreciated how dark and twisted the author went with it. Looking forward to more Worley!!

This book ended up going in an entirely different direction than I expected! It centers on Jane, who is obsessed with Colin, who broke up with her after only a few dates. She is determined to get him back and knows that deep down he feels the same way. She manages to weasel her way back into his life by befriending his new girlfriend, Zoe, but the closer she gets the more she realizes that there might be more going on with Colin and Zoe than she thought.
I was super uncomfortable through the first part of the book because Jane just seemed unhinged. Her behavior was so cringy that I wanted to reach through the book and shake her, but I also could not stop reading to see what she would do next. The author did a great job at creating that level of discomfort in the reader. The mystery unfolds partway through the book and we realize that Jane isn't the only person who has tightly kept secrets. As the story continues, I started to question pretty much everyone and it became less clear who (if anyone) was most reliable. The big reveal towards the end was maybe a bit overdone but I actually think that worked with the way the rest of the story was veering. There were a couple pretty big twists in a short period of time, leading to a wrap-up chapter that I think most people will hate, but I thought was the perfect ending after everything I read up to that point.
You will likely not walk away from this book feeling great but you will walk away feeling that you read something unique, different, and unexpected. The story was clever and surprising and overall really well done. I'd recommend to those who enjoy psychological thrillers Thanks to Netgalley for providing a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you to netgalley, the author, and minotaur books for the e-arc to review! I am very grateful!
Jane found the perfect guy, but he broke her heart. Now, she's determined to make him see that they belong together.
This wasn't for me, but I think a lot of people are going to love this. There were a few things that didn't work, and the main one was the protagonist's thought process. Her whole personality, really, but her decision making ( or lack thereof) drove me nuts.
I did enjoy the writing and how easy it was to fly through this book. Like I said, i think most people will enjoy this book if they like twisty thrillers with feminist commentary.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was my first book of Worley's and I couldn't put it down! What a wild ride that had me tearing through this one in less than 24 hours.
Set in NYC, Jane is obsessed with her ex, Colin. She stalks him until running into him while they are both on a date, which ends up with his new girlfriend, Zoe, befriending her. They start to build a friendship, while Jane is really trying to get back to Colin. But, when she breaks into his apartment, she finds evidence that maybe he isn't so perfect after all-or else why is there a bloodied knife wrapped in a Penn sweatshirt stuffed into his drawer? But, Jane isn't turned off by this. In fact, it might be something she is much more familiar with than Colin would have ever thought!
I was hesitant to pick this one up because of some of the reviews, but I thought it was great. Some great twists and turns and while this was wildly unbelievable, isn't that the whole point of reading thrillers? Great writing and character development.

In an effort to make Colin realize his mistakes, Jane resorts to stalking Colin and creating opportunities to run into him and Zoe. ARC REVIEW: So Happy Together by Olivia Worley💕💕
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5
Cover Rating: 4/5
Favorite Quote: “We fall fast and deep, and sometimes, that means we make impulsive decisions, or we do things other people wouldn’t understand.”
My Thoughts: This book was VERY entertaining and hard to put down. It’s the kind of book where you NEED to know what’s going to happen next. I loved the three protagonists Jane, Colin, and Zoe. We follow Jane throughout the whole story, and babygirl is a little delulu. She ignored every red flag that came her way and I wanted to shake her sometimes, but love makes you blind I guess.
I loved the friendship that her and Zoe formed, I loved trying to figure things out, and I loved how unhinged the story is. This book had me in a chokehold all the way up until the epilogue. It fell so flat to me and left me wanting more, but not in a good way. It made me realize that even though the story itself was entertaining, there were some pieces missing. I just wish Jane thought things through before she made her decision, because that ending left me so underwhelmed. Just go to therapy, Jane.
In all, I loved the girl power and I do in fact support women rights and wrongs lol. Pick this up if you love fast paced books about obsession. Jane really puts me in the mind of Love Quinn from the show “You”. If she had a book, this would be it.

This book really started strong. About halfway I started getting confused. Ultimately things worked out. I didn’t think Jane’s home life story was necessary.

I received a DIGITAL Advance Reader Copy of this book from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I have absolutely no idea what I just read and I can't decide if it's in a good way or a bad way. Jane is obsessed with her ex for some reason and will do anything to get him back. Can he really be called her ex when they had only six dates and he never seemed that interested to begin with? Colin seems like a dick and there is nothing special about him at all to get obsessed over. I don't know if that's the point but it was a negative for me.
I also kind of hated being in Jane's head, I disliked her character and the reveal at the end felt like more of a shrug at the end for me. Overall I did find the book compelling and wanting to read more even if I didn't like the characters.

This book's dedication page is, "for the girls who get attached a little too quickly." And honestly, that's the core of the book. Jane is a NYC twentysomething, a hopeful playwright, and knows her recent ex, Colin, is her soulmate. After two months, six dates, and a night together, they're destined to be together... even if he doesn't quite know it yet.
A heavy dose of You vibes makes this a darkly entertaining read. This is Worley's third book -- the second that I've read, and her strongest thus far. That said, I question if this explores the 'she's crazy' angle deeply enough where some of the main characters don't just come off as... well, crazy. (The Orphella parallel hits that point, but not deep enough -- and the last thing we need in this era is another story where women can be written off as plain 'ol crazy.)
Big thanks to St. Martin's Press via @netgalley for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review. So Happy Together is out now.

Jane is a young, aspiring playwright in New York and when she meets Colin, she believes they are meant to be. She is surprised when he suddenly breaks it off. Even though she has only known home for 8 months and gone on a total of 6 dates with him, she is convinced they are soulmates. She begins to subtly stalk him and finds out he is now dating Zoe, who seems just about perfect, but to Jane, obviously not the one for Colin. A “chance” encounter with Zoe and Colin leads to a little white lie, and somehow Jane finds herself with an up close seat to their relationship. Despite numerous signs that Zoe and Colin are happy together, Jane knows it is just a matter of time before Colin realizes the error of his ways and comes back to her.
She continues to try and be in the same space as Colin and even goes so far as to search his things and of course she finds some incriminating evidence that should make her question everything and run, but she absolutely does not do that. She continues to give Colin the benefit of the doubt and her obsession with him remains even though she finds she doesn’t really know him or his past.
Jane is crazy, her obsession with Colin is unhinged, we are never really given insight into why she thinks Colin is so great and her instant friendship with Zoe is not 100% believable. The past secrets of all the characters are revealed and for while, the reader isn’t sure who to believe. The climax is so ridiculously far fetched and the epilogue just lets you know how nuts Jane is—no spoilers! All in all a quick read.

First off - I thought the twists in this were great. I didn’t see the big major one near the end coming pretty much at all. I think the writing style was done well and the characters each stood out to create this thriller.

Finding love isn’t easy anywhere, but Jane is finding that it’s especially difficult in New York City. She moved there to go to NYU and stayed on to be a playwright. Now she’s 24 and tired of dating around. She wants to find someone special, but using dating apps just isn’t getting her where she wants to be.
And then she matches with Colin.
Colin had messaged her about her nerdy comment about the Oxford comma, so Jane knew right away that he was a keeper. He showed up for their first date, and they had a really good time. He hadn’t even tried to kiss her on that first date. It wasn’t until their sixth date, a magical evening at the Botanical Gardens, that they’d spent the night together. And that was when Jane knew she’d found someone she could spend the rest of her life with. And it was the next day that Colin dumped her.
Jane didn’t want to believe that it was over, so she tried to bump into him again. She took dates to the bar where they had gone, hoping to see him and find out what had happened. And it worked. Jane was out with a date, and she saw him. And she saw her. His date was tall and willowy with long chestnut hair. She seemed perfect. So Jane did the only thing she could do. She stalked her online until she found her.
Zoe was an Instagram influencer, popular for her inspirational videos encouraging her followers to manifest what they want. Jane starts following and saying her own mantra to manifest the future she wants for herself (with Colin). Zoe notices her and invites her to Colin’s birthday party. Jane is confused about that until she realizes that Colin had lied to Zoe about they knew each other and said that he knew Jane from college, even though he had gone to Penn State. Jane plays along though and ends up at Colin’s birthday party. She ends up hooking up with his roommate Ben that night, figuring that would be an easy way to stay in Colin’s orbit until he could figure out that she was the one he wanted to be with.
But as the weeks go by, and Zoe befriends her, Jane feels like she has a true friend for the first time in a long time, maybe her whole life. But she still feels a connection to Colin and thinks they will ultimately end up together. But when Jane learns about some sketchy things in Colin’s past, Jane is faced with a decision. How far will she go to protect him? And how far will she need to go to protect herself?
So Happy Together is a twisty thriller about the secrets we try to bury and what we have to go through to keep buried. It’s about obsession and love, and all the choices that go into staying true to the dream you are trying to manifest. But really, it’s just bonkers, filled with twists and new stories and lies and betrayals that make your head spin after a while. But mostly it’s one of the most entertaining thrillers I’ve read in some time, so if that’s what you’re into, then you are in the right place.
I listened to the audio book of So Happy Together, narrated to perfection by Michelle H. Lee. She embodies Jane and her insecurities as well as Zoe and her influencing, and all their hidden agendas and secrets. There is a lot happening in this story, and it could have been difficult to keep it all straight, but I felt like Lee’s confidence with the story kept me on track, so stayed with her through every scene. I raced through this audio book in one day, because I just had to know how we got from that crazy beginning to the end, and I was not disappointed. This book is a fireball, and the audio brings it all to life.
Egalleys for So Happy Together were provided by Minotaur Books, and a copy of the audio book was provided by Macmillan Audio, both through NetGalley, with many thanks, but the opinions are mine.

Thanks to St Martins Press and NetGalley for an eARC to review!
This is a fun to read thriller. I was guessing the whole time and didn’t want to put this book down.
It’s written in first person following Jane, a young woman who is obsessed with her ex-boyfriend. She gets wrapped up in his life when his new girlfriend wants to be her friend. And shocking- things get chaotic.
I’ve read a lot of first person POVs with young MCs and it’s hard not to make them seem so sophomoric or out of touch with reality. This is one of the better ones where there are moments of immaturity and cringey dialogue but it’s definitely better than a lot of the newer gen z MC thrillers.
It is tough not to get into what I liked and didn’t like without spoilers but high level it was a fast paced and quick read. It’s twisty and interesting how things unfold. The one thing I didn’t care for was Jane’s backstory.
The psychological aspects are not done well (trauma. Abuse, addiction, even pts) from an accuracy standpoint but it doesn’t feel too exploitative of these things it’s just barely grazing the topics that could have been fleshed out to be authentic. But none of the story feels very realistic. Like the show You. We don’t enjoy it for the accuracy but for the unexpected plot and drama and what could happen next and this book delivers on those things.

Thank you to NetGalley, Olivia Worley and St Martin‘s Press for the free ebook in exchange for an honest review.
Definitely an addicting read. I cruised through this one wondering what kind of craziness was going to happen next. All the characters are quite despicable, but that makes it all the more fun.

My Review
What I Loved:
I was impressed with the character development throughout the book. I really felt like I knew Collin, Zoe, and Jane personally. Since Zoe and Jane both knew they were physically involved with Collin, I kind of expected the relationship to take a more modern approach in the story. Personally, I'm delighted it didn't come to that, but I still thought it was inevitable.
This book maintained just enough suspense and uncertainty throughout to keep me eager to read until the last page. Even after I finished the book, I still wasn't entirely confident about who did what. But the ending was predictable.
What Didn't Work for Me:
It wasn't a fast-paced read, but it was still enjoyable. I also felt like the storyline was taken from many other similar-style movies and books. As such, it didn't seem overly unique.
Overall Thoughts:
Overall, this was a decent read. If you like these kinds of stories, then you will still appreciate reading this.
