This was completely unhinged, and I was here for it! I loved the MC Jane and her fixation on her ex boyfriend, and the secrets that are uncovered along the way. I always enjoy being inside the mind of someone who is not well. This woman has issues, and she’s not going to deal with them. She becomes an obsessed stalker, ingratiating herself into her ex’s life completely. But maybe he’s not so great himself.
I loved this on audiobook. Hearing her thoughts and justifications really kept this book moving for me. But I will say that I didn’t care for the ending. It would have been a solid five star read if it hadn’t gone the direction it went. Still overall an entertaining read.
If you support women’s rights, but also women’s wrongs, then this book is for you!

This book had SO MUCH POTENTIAL! Did I absolutely devour it? Yes, I did. It definitely kept me entertained and turning the pages. HOWEVER, I felt like the cops in this story did absolutely NO investigating, and the ending felt kind of rushed and didn’t make much sense (TO ME) would I recommend this book? If you are looking for something fast paced then absolutely! And maybe it will all come together better for you, it just didn’t hit that sweet spot for me. Unfortunately.

Thank you netgalley and the publisher for the arc in exchange for my honest review. PUB DATE: 6/3

So Happy Together is an unhinged, must read thriller from Olivia Worley. So Happy Together follows the twisted love triangle of Jane, Colin and Zoe. Jane, like many other early twenty something’s in New York is having difficulty finding love, that is until she meets Colin, the perfect man for her. But when Colin breaks off their relationship after 6 dates, she knows that she will do anything to get him back. That is until Colin starts dating perfect Zoe. While trying to get Colin back Jane is lead down a dark path of lies, secrets and murder. I knew that I had to read this book when I saw in the description that it was a mix of You and Promising Young Women. Like Promising Young Women, after I finished this book I sat on my couch for 10 minutes thinking about the ending and then trying to find someone to talk to about it. This book did take me awhile to get into, due to second embarrassment of Jane. But once I got into the book, I couldn’t stop. This books twists and turns kept me guessing to the very end. Thanks NetGalley for giving me an opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is unhinged in the absolute best possible way! Since I started this book I was immediately drawn in by the characters and the FMC deranged thought process but I was completely eating it up. We follow Jane a screen playwright in the midst of producing a new play with a new perspective to Ophelia from the infamous Shakespearean play. Jane is trying to find love and her obsession with a previous lover draws her to uncovered me secrets she can’t come back from. This book was such a fun thrilling ride with so many interesting plot twists and a wonderful theatrical performance. As a true Shakespearean fan I love the concept of incorporating Shakespearean plays into this book. The concept of the FMC being a playwright was so unique and gave the book such an interesting and refreshing perspective. I highly recommend this book to any thriller lovers looking for their next thrill.

I had a hard time getting into this one because I found the main character so exhausting and delusional. It picked up at around 30% into the book, and then it had insane twists and turns. I don’t think I liked any of the characters, but I did keep turning the pages at the end to find out how it would play out (and also to be done reading it so I could start over with something different!).
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

It will take patience and a few chapters to drum up any empathy for deluded ex-girlfriend/stalker Jane (although this is achieved more quickly via the audiobook and Michelle H. Lee’s wry and snarky narration), but wait. You’ll still be shaking your head about Jane, but you won’t be wishing the terrible things you were considering about her at the beginning.
Simply, 24 year old playwright Jane was dumped by perfect guy Colin after 6 dates. Two months later she still believes he’ll realize his mistake and is constantly trying to arrange accidental meet-ups in the same place. It finally happens and Jane is horrified that Colin has definitely replaced her with almost-too-perfect Zoe, an Instagram influencer. As she wheedles her way into their primary friend group (Colin lies to Zoe, saying Jane is a college friend instead of an ex), Jane and Zoe get along terrifically...until they both realize that maybe Colin is a bad boyfriend.
Author Worley’s book becomes a guilty pleasure — you still don’t need to totally love Jane (as she persists in putting Colin on a pedestal), but you’ll be totally addicted to wondering how everything (maybe with a little murder thrown in) turns out. Bonus if you listen to the delightful audiobook. Michelle H. Lee is incredible. 4.5 stars!
Literary Pet Peeve Checklist:
Green Eyes (only 2% of the real world, yet it seems like 90% of all fictional females): YES Zoe and Trip have green eyes.
Horticultural Faux Pas (plants out of season or growing zones, like daffodils in autumn or bougainvillea in Alaska): NO Zoe is a little over-obsessed with Ophelia images surrounded by flowers, and there’s the Shakespearean reference that rosemary is for remembrance.

Dating in New York City is hard so Jane is happy when she finds Colin. Until he breaks it off and starts dating Zoe; perfect, artistic and successful, Zoe. Jane knows that deep inside he still wants her though.
This one was a twisty suspense that got deeper and twistier as it went. It seems like a stalker thriller at the beginning but it turns into a lot more. Pay close attention. I had an idea of some of the twists but it ended up being much more. Bonus points for those that like Hamlet.
So Happy Together comes out 6/3.

Thank you net galley for allowing me to read this arc.. I rated this a four star. Jane is obsessed with Colin and is determined he is her soul mate problem being he is with Zoe. This book reminded me of a lifetime movie. I did enjoy the book. I loved the twists that came with this book.

Some hearts get broken but others get even. Loved this twisty turny, unputdownable read! I was glued to its pages till the end. This immediately got put on our to buy list at our library. I can't wait for our library patrons to read this so I can disucss the ending with them. You have to read this thriller made for the dating app age we live in!

Thank you to the author, SMP, Minotaur Books and NetGalley for an eARC! My honest thoughts are below!
I really enjoyed this thriller! It took a much different turn (multiple times) from what I was expecting and kept me guessing. I liked that it was a little unhinged, but not SO much that I couldn’t buy into it. The writing flowed well and it moved at a great, even, pace!
I was pleasantly surprised at the level of female friendship in it- I was expecting it to be primarily about the romantic relationship, but really loved the additional depth we got there. They stole the show for me! I also really liked how the FMC was handled- I was worried ther presentation would come across “crazy stalker” but there was a great amount of exploration into her internal thoughts and emotions!
Some aspects felt a little out of a left field and I would have liked a bit more breadcrumbs or explanation, primarily with Colin’s character. However, this was a minor criticism and I generally had a really great time reading this book! Can’t wait to check out more by this author!

So many twists and turns as the mystery unravels! This one took me a little bit to get into, but once I got past the first few chapters, I couldn’t stop until I knew what happened. For most of the book, I thought I could predict what was going to happen, but once the twists started they just kept coming and I was surprised again and again.

Jane is a playwright, struggling to make it in the world of theater, but also struggling to find a mate…until she meets Colin. They seemed perfect together, but on their sixth date, he sleeps with her, then ghosts her. When she confronts him, he said he wasn’t ready for anything serious, but she soon finds out he’s seriously dating Zoe - a gorgeous, confident artist and “spiritual” TikToker. This girl can’t be right for him, so Jane is going to stick around until Colin realizes his mistake.
Oddly, after initially hating Zoe, the two become good friends. Jane is willing to hang out with Zoe in order to see Colin, and she even starts dating Colin’s roommate, Ben. The setup is perfect: she has a new best friend, and a man who lives with Colin. He can’t escape her now, not while she’s in Zoe’s good graces. Then, during some stalking/snooping, she discovers something that changes everything she knows about her dream man.
I thought this was a great book; it is well-written and the friendship between Jane and Zoe was surprisingly fun. As the story went along, more and more secrets were revealed until a shock of an ending. I think the mystery aspect could have been a bit more suspenseful, but this is a fun read. Four stars!
(Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, Olivia Worley and NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my review. This book is slated to be released on June 3, 2025.)

This was my first book by this author and I loved it! It kept me in a chokehold wanting to know what was going to happen next. There were multiple twists that I did not see coming! I would definitely recommend this book and read something else by this author!

Reading So Happy Together was an absolutely crazy and wild ride. I didn’t know who or what to believe because everyone was far from perfect and slightly unhinged. I may have pieced together the twist before it was revealed, but I was entertained and enjoyed reading it.
I was given an advanced copy of this book. All opinions expressed above are my own. So Happy Together releases on June 3, 2025.

4/5 stars
Thank you Minotaur Books for the advanced reading copy!
What started off as a super entertaining and twisted obsession story, quickly turned into an even more twisted story of revenge! I liked this book from the beginning, even if halfway through it felt like I was reading a totally different book. There was so much drama that I couldn't put it down -- tons of pettiness, suspicion and sabotage, which was a ton of fun to read.
Some parts felt a little bit repetitive, and some scenes didn't need to be in the story. There were a few predictable twists and a few really huge shocks. Either way, I was entertained the entire time and eager to see where things were headed!
I've read one other book by Olivia Worley -- THE DEBUTANTES -- and love the drama and chaos in her stories. I'll read more by her, for sure!

I really enjoyed Olivia Worley’s YA Thriller, The Debutantes, when I read it last year. So, I jumped at the chance to read her next thriller early! While the premise sounded so interesting, I ultimately didn’t love how it was executed, so let’s talk about it.
While it’s a fast-paced, short read with well-paced twists, somehow it felt very repetitive to me for the first 80% of the story. Conversely, the last 20% felt so rushed. It was a chaos that had been building since the midpoint that just went off the rails, but not in a good thriller kind of way for me. It left a lot of confusion and some plot points that felt underdeveloped.
On that note, the characters (despite having their secrets) came across as one dimensional to me. I know they weren’t based on all the reveals at the end, but those reveals almost seemed too little too late. I never grew to care for them or truly understand their motives or why they behave the way that they do on a deeper level. We got there the most with Jane, a bit with Zoe, but almost nothing in regards to Colin. Would have loved more depth for all of them earlier on to build more intrigue.
My favorite part of the book though was just how truly delusional Jane was. Seeing how her mind warped certain interactions and completely ignoring red flags was highly entertaining 🚩 She’s obsessed, she’s a stalker and as a playwright she certainly loved a flair for the dramatic. I did feel bad for her at times. She just wanted to be loved even though she wasn't going about it in a healthy way. Her character kept me invested enough to see where her story went, I only wish I’d loved the wild ride.
All that to say, I have heard that the audio is fantastic and really brings Jane’s tone and nature to life 🎧 So maybe give this one a shot on audio if the premise sounds interesting to you! It seems like it works better in this format for a lot of readers, but the physical gets 2.5 stars for me.

This was a quick read, and I anticipated most of the twists and turns in the plot. The FMC is pretty unhinged in a way that made me so frustrated but worked exactly right for the story.
Jane is 24, living in NYC, trying to find love and make it as a playwright. She finds her soulmate in Colin — he just doesn’t know it yet, and since breaking up with Jane has started dating Zoe. What comes next is messy chaos as Zoe and Jane becomes friends and Jane goes out with Colin’s roommate. We soon find out that Jane isn’t the only one hiding things.

If Joe from “You” was a whole lot less violent and purely driven by delusion and trauma, he would be Jane from “So Happy Together.”
While this book isn’t “You” to a T, it did give me those vibes right from the beginning and I found it to be an engaging and enjoyable story with twists and reveals that I didn’t necessarily see coming. I appreciated the glimpse into Jane’s past, but felt it would have benefited her character development to have understood her background sooner in the story. All in all, a solid 4 ⭐️ read and one I’d recommend to fans of mystery-thrillers!

Thank you to Net Galley and Minotaur Books for sending me an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
So Happy Together by Olivia Worley was a letdown. I went in hoping for an engaging story, but the plot felt confusing and all over the place from the start. It lacked clear direction, making it hard to stay invested. The characters didn’t help much either — they felt flat and underdeveloped, with little depth or growth throughout the book.
For most of the story, I was honestly bored. Things didn’t pick up until about 80% of the way through, and by then it felt like too little, too late. Even when the action started, it wasn’t particularly compelling or satisfying. I kept waiting for something to hook me, to make me care, but it never really happened.
I wanted to like this book — the premise had potential — but it just didn’t deliver. Not the worst thing I’ve ever read, but unfortunately not one I’d recommend.

Olivia Worley's upcoming novel, SO HAPPY TOGETHER, is camp, it's messy, it's chaotic, and it's so much fun! This book is my first venture into Worley's writing, but it will not be my last. If you love the show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the movie Promising Young Woman, or the books Love Letters to a Serial Killer or YOU, this book will definitely be your jam!
Jane is sure Colin is her soulmate—even if he doesn’t know it yet. When he dumps her and starts dating the seemingly perfect Zoe, Jane is convinced she just has to win him back. But everything changes when she sneaks into his apartment and uncovers a shocking secret that leads to obsession, betrayal, and murder. I'm not going to dive in further, because the best part of this story is how it unfolds.
This book has all the fun, anti-slow burn vibes that I expected it to be. It's pretty predictable, but there was a twist that did catch me off-guard! I read this book in one sitting, so it's definitely safe to say that this is a bingeworthy story! Don't take this book too seriously and you'll have a blast. I know I did!
