This book is the perfect cozy, fall-inspired romcom. It’s got pumpkin spice, pub crawls, and enough sweetness to leave you smiling long after you’ve finished reading. Coffee Break with the Billionaire is a light, feel-good story about two very different people finding connection and comfort in a little corner of the world.

Fenella Carrington, our runaway billionaire, is the kind of character who lights up every scene she’s in. She’s confident, glamorous, and just a little chaotic, but there’s also a vulnerability to her as she tries to navigate life away from the public eye. I loved watching her shed the “celebrity” persona and let her real self come through.

Then there’s Silas, the cinnamon roll of a barista who couldn’t be more different from Fenella. He’s down-to-earth, steady, and just trying to keep his coffee shop running smoothly when this whirlwind of a woman walks in. The dynamic between them is so charming—full of awkward moments, growing trust, and just enough romantic tension to keep you rooting for them.

What sets this apart from a typical romcom is the Laandia setting. It’s a tiny country with big charm, and the cozy small-town vibe adds so much warmth to the story. From pumpkin carving to stargazing, it’s the kind of place you wish you could escape to yourself.

My only minor complaint is that the story felt a bit predictable in parts—it hits all the familiar romcom beats—but honestly, that’s part of the charm. Sometimes you just want a book that wraps you in a warm blanket and delivers exactly what you’re expecting.

If you’re in the mood for a sweet, closed-door romance with plenty of fall vibes, Coffee Break with the Billionaire is a great pick. Fenella and Silas will leave you smiling—and maybe craving a pumpkin spice latte.

i had such a good time with this book. the small town romance will get me EVERY SINGLE TIME. At first, I was a tad worried it was going to give me It Happened One Summer energy due to the billionaire story line. I was pleasantly surprised with Fenella’s character and the growth we saw throughout the book.

This friends to lovers was so cute and gave massive slice of life energy. It was so cozy and perfect for the fall.

"Coffee Break with the Billionaire" by Holly Kerr is a heartwarming and cozy romance that beautifully captures the charm of small-town life. Fenella's journey from a high-profile socialite to someone who finds joy in the simple things is both relatable and inspiring. Silas, with his kind and steady nature, is the perfect counterpart to Fenella's initially chaotic presence. Kerr's writing is engaging and filled with delightful moments that make this book a perfect read for the fall season. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a sweet and uplifting romance!

Thanks to NetGalley and Three Birds Press for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Spice: 0, unless you think kissing is spice, then…0.3 out of 10 on the spice level. Lol

Fenella is the daughter of a billionaire. She is an influencer with bad taste in men and moonlights as a model on occasion. Silas is the owner of a small-town café shop, helping raise his nephew and not interested in dating, till Fenella lands in his town. Cheated on by her fiancé, Fenella’s break-up starts trending and her father orders her away until the hype calms down. Why not spend it in a castle in the tiny country of Laandia (aka a fictional country taking up a chunk of Newfoundland)?

What I Thought
So, I didn’t realize this is actually part of a series when I asked for this. I just saw a cute story about two people falling in love. BUT it’s okay. You can totally read this as a standalone and, in my case, it will probably motivate you to seek out other books from the series, though I don’t think they are all written by the same person.
At first, I was super excited because FINALLY a financially successful woman in search for love. I was mistaken. She’s basically an heiress. Like Paris Hilton. Darn. Hopes dashed. But at least she’s a nice person. It’s hard not to like Fenella simply for who she is. Once she settles into Laandia a little bit her kind, exuberant personality really shines. It’s refreshing that she’s not at all afraid of a bit of hard work in order to achieve the goals she wants. Goals that usually would be achieved by servants, no less. And the fact that she takes a genuine interest in other people and wants to help them out on occasion, super refreshing.

Silas, well, who the heck couldn’t like Silas? He truly is a cinnamon roll of a man. Kind, thoughtful, putting the people he cares about first, and unable to fire even the most terrible of employees. Lol His love of flannel and plaid is refreshing as well as all the healthy relationships he has with friends, family and townsfolk. He’s not at all bitter about giving up his dreams in order to be there for his remaining family when they need him most. I’m actually super glad that Fenella took interest in him. She regularly acknowledges his sacrifices and feels compelled to tr and make his dream(s) come true towards the end.

The short of it is, they are a green flag couple…once they become a couple. It takes almost the whole book for them to get there, which I think is a really good thing because the book only takes place across 2 weeks. I really enjoyed how the author went about it. No insta-love, no rushed unrealistic relationship steps to tie up the ending with a pretty little bow. Deep respect and appreciation to the author for tha!

Conclusion?
Super cute fluff read that I could easily read every lunch break without getting lost. It’s a clean romance with no real red flag inducing behaviors and no rush to tie the whole relationship up with a pretty little ring. Very refreshing.

Coffee Break with the Billionaire by Holly Kerr is a charming romantic comedy that revolves around two main characters: Fenella, a wealthy and gorgeous billionaire social media celebrity and Silas, an ordinary guy who works as a barista at his family-owned café.

After a very public breakup with her rockstar fiancé Tiger, Fenella has been asked by her father to keep a low profile till the viral video of her break-up subsides. Having no option but to fulfil her father’s request, Fenella flies to Laandia (a fictional country). During her stay there she meets the local barista Silas, who makes her favourite Pumpkin Spice Latte, with two pumps and an extra of vanilla, oat milk and unicorn froth. With nothing to do, Fenella decides to work in Silas’s café, as they start spending more time together, their connection deepens. Silas is hesitant at first about getting involved with Fenella, knowing how complicated relationships can become when a billionaire is involved. Fenella, on the other hand, struggles with her own set of expectations and the baggage that comes with being a wealthy, public figure. Throughout the novel, both characters challenge each other’s perceptions of love, trust, and what really matters in a relationship.

My favourite part was when Silas takes Fenella for stargazing! (It was so dreamy and perfect!!!) Along the way Silas teaches Fenella a lot about living a normal life. They do things which Fenella had never done in her life, simple things like grocery shopping, cooking, pumpkin carving!

Overall, Coffee Break with the Billionaire is a heartwarming and fun romance that plays with the classic "rags-to-riches" trope, but it also subverts the usual narrative. It’s about two people learning to meet in the middle, overcoming their fears, and discovering that love can bridge even the widest divides. The witty dialogue, charming characters, and emotional growth make it an enjoyable and satisfying read for fans of contemporary romance.

Fenella is a billionaire socialite that can't quite find her place in the world. She has big aspirations, but little direction. When her most recent relationship goes up in smoke, she retreats to Battle Harbor to stay with her friends (the royal family) to stay out of the press. But the small town is kinda boring. She visits the local coffee shop often for her pumpkin spice fix and her daily dose of the hottie that owns the place. Silas has been burned by women before. As much as he tries to keep his distance from Fenella, he finds himself drawn to her like a moth to a flame.

I just loved this. Silas is my favorite type of book boyfriend. He's kind, thoughtful, smart, and devoted to the people he loves. He reminds me a lot of Bo from Out on a Limb. Bo may be my favorite cinnamon roll book BF of all time and Silas would be a close second. It's such a cozy fall romance.

Loved this book and look forward to more stories from Laandia. When I read the description, I was a little worried that the character of Fenella would be grating, but I actually found her naivety charming. Silas was a fantastic swoonworthy leading man. Good pacing to the plot and just the right amount of conflict to keep things interesting! I'm looking forward to reading more by Kerr!

The writing style is not very good. Not bad, if you want a fast read, heavy dialogue this is perfect.
The story felt like it was just checking all the different boxes.
FMC was annoying and just not a very nice person. We get it you are rich and know people but it's unrealistic and overall poorly done. It felt like the FMC was a different person in the second part of the novel.
I would recommed if you jsut want something to read but it could have been much better. I did not like it.

While the MMC was a respectable, dependable, very likeable guy, the FMC was problematic at best. While yes, her upbringing did leave much to be desired, she was just not a likeable person and the storyline didn’t seem to grow her very well. As a whole, I tried very hard but could not enjoy the story, but especially not the FMC.

This book was so confusing. I was expecting a cute billionaire romance, but why were there kingdoms and princes involved? It seemed very out of place: royal weddings and a coffee shop barista??

Thank you NetGalley and publisher for this arc!!

What a good book! I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. I loved the main characters! They had great chemistry and worked so well together. I loved how the book just flowed. My first by this author but will not be my last!!!

This book is part of the Cinnamon Roll and pumpkin spice series but can be read as a standalone.
This was a nice fall, cozy romance in a small town. Fenella leaves to town after a public break up to a small town and meets Silas where they become friends to lovers.

I loved it!! I could not put it down!! I really hope we get Ashton’s story, too! I already read all of the Love in Laandia books and getting this on was an unexpected surprise. I can’t wait for more stories from Laandia!!

I enjoyed Fenella and Silas's story! Two opposites who have a spark of chemistry that draws them together even though they both have some hesitancy on starting a relationship. But the more they come to know each other, the more they fall.

They were both great characters and I loved watching them bring their strengths and weaknesses together to help and lift each other. They both grew and it was a refreshing story seeing them not have drama in their relationship. Two adults who talked and just wanted to help those around them.

It was a sweet love story that unfolded. And I loved their sweet friendship that built into more. They trusted each other and that created a great foundation for a sweet love to grow between them. And for them to let go of hurts from their pasts and to let real love help them know who they were as individuals and as a couple.

Content: Nothing more than kisses. There is mention of alcohol as there are a couple of scenes at a bar and at a night club.

I received a copy from the publisher, Three Birds Press, via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!

Rating: 3/5

Spice: 0/5

Primary Genre: Billionaire Romance/RomCom

Trigger Warnings: Alcohol use, bad parenting

Plot 3/5:

Billionaire heiress Fenella needs to go into hiding after her most recent, very public break up with her cheating ex. Where to? Her other ex’s (who’s a prince, by the way) remote town! Well, technically it’s a whole country. Fenella can’t get enough of the local coffee shop, Coffee For the Sole, and her pumpkin spice lattes. She also becomes interesting in the coffee shop owner, Silas, once she realizes there’s more to him than coffee beans.

Tropes:
• cinnamon roll hero
• friends-to-lovers
• small town
• opposites attract

The Good:

* If you love a small town vibe, you’ll be obsessed with Battle Harbor.

* The LGBTQ+ character representation was great to see. I honestly wasn’t expecting it, it was refreshing.

* I loved the fall setting of the book, it’s a great vibe for an October read.

The Meh:

* While I didn’t dislike the ending, it did feel a little bit rushed to me.

* The slow burn was so slow that this almost felt like women’s fiction. It doesn’t detract from the story but as I was nearing the end of the book I was left wondering when something would happen between the MC’s.

Bottom Line:

This is a sweet, light hearted fall/Halloween romance. I would pick this up if you’re in the mood for a cozy fall setting and a closed door, slow burn romance. The cast of characters are quirky and lovable, the small town has a funky Viking vibe, and there’s royals with a castle. What’s not to love?

1⭐️ Thank you to NetGalley and Three Birds Press for an advanced copy of Coffee Break With The Billionaire.

Fenella has just had a very public break up which would normally not be a big deal but she is a billionaire and is getting bad press. She goes to hide out and lay low and meets Silas. She falls for him but knows she will break his heart.

This book was so childish. It should be listed as young adult. All of the characters were so immature and spoiled. It was hard to even get through the book.
