I love books that let me delve into minor characters of a book, especially a book I loved so much, _Gone with the Wind_. I knew Mammy's story was going to be sad, I just wish it didn't have to be quite so sad. It was a downer, but probably a very realistic view of slave life.

Gone with the Wind is one of my favourite books of all time so it was probably always going to be hard to review this book. For me, it didn't have the flow of Mitchell's writing and it was hard to get into. I really wanted to love this book but it just didn't work for me.
