I envy anyone making their first acquaintance with Robotham’s writing. Series or stand-alone, his books are all a treat. Start with The Suspect, & you won’t stop until you’ve devoured them all & joined us, his impatiently waiting fans (we all wish Robotham would write just that teeny bit faster...but, so long as he never stops, we’re not complaining). Intelligent, surprising, & better than 99% of the rest (& quite possibly the best) writing in mystery/thriller genre today. Recommended wholeheartedly.

Addictive, easy to read and a real page turner, this guy really knows how to write thrillers. Not much more to know really but when O’Loughlin’s idyllic life takes a turn for the worse he risks it all to solve a murder. The first few chapters took a little to break into a stride but once it hits that sweet spot there really is no stopping the book and the storyline runs away at breakneck speeds.

Told in the first person narrative, O’Laughlin really is the heart and soul of Suspect.
