Thank you to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing Group for providing this book, with my honest review below.
A Proposal to Die For was the sweet mystery that I love to read, as it feels low stakes and compelling at first but quickly evolves into a bit of a game of clue.
Jessie is a proposal planner, a job I can’t believe doesn’t exist. Known for her dreamy proposals with incredibly attention to detail, she gets hired by Diana, a former schoolmate she’s not a huge fan of. While usually it’s the future grooms hiring her without the future brides knowing, Diana hunts down Jess in a bid to get an Instagram perfect proposal, which should tell you something about Diana. As part of the job Jess is sent on Diana’s pre-proposal girls trip to a dreamy off the grid resort by Trenton (the fiancé and a pecan heir).
After this the crud hits the fan and we quickly get sucked into murder and intrigue, not to mention some very, very mean girls. Luckily we have a sweet romance for Jess to get us through, and Jess is hilarious, which also keeps things from getting too dark.
I don’t want to reveal more because it’s wayyy to complicated to keep it spoiler free, but I had so much fun with this!

Fast-paced, witty, and brimming with clever twists, this is the kind of mystery that hooks you from the first page, delivering both laughs and thrills. It’s a perfect pick for readers who love a bit of romance tangled up in their murder mysteries!
