Healing Rest by Becky Thompson is an ecouraging quick read for moms and women longing for rest. After following her Midnight Mom Devotional daily prayers since their inception, and being on the launch team for a few of her earlier books, I find that I'm draw to her easy conversational style of writing. It's like you're talking to a friend. The reminder that "rest" doesn't just mean stopping, it also means surrendering to Christ. I love that reminder.
On a personal note, I am a young(ish), recent(ish) widow with a young son. While I do have family close by, I often feel like *I* need to be the one to remember everything, organize everything, do. everything. on. my. own. to show people (myself) that I can and that I'm strong and capable. But what I really need to do is to stop, breathe, enjoy the time with my child and surrender everything to Him. I appreciate the verses chosen and the affirmations given as well as the example of Mary and Martha throughout the devotional.
If you need encouragement, a refresher, a good word, it will always work to pick up a book by Becky Thompson and Healing Rest is a great choice.
Thank you to the author, publisher, and NetGalley for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest thoughts.

Becky Thompson has given us a special gift with "Healing Rest"! This is the book I needed in this season of motherhood. I truly believe this book will speak to mothers of all ages and stages as they walk with Jesus in their Motherhood journey. This book is like talking to a good friend and the message is so easy to carry with you through your day. I can't wait to gift this to Mothers in my life.

This was such a helpful book to read as a busy mom of 3 who work full time its often hard to give it all to God and not over think things.

Timely and thoughtful book by Becky Thompson once again. I’ve enjoyed all of her books and each one seems to come at the just right time in my life. I highly recommend, especially for moms who are in the thick of it and feel chronically exhausted.

As a first time mom to a one year old girl, I think it is so important for me to take care of myself mentally so I set the standard for my little girl as she grows up in how she should be treating herself. I appreciate books aimed at moms to help with that.
