I didn't love the first one, and while I loved the plot more on this one, there is so much spice in this book. Like after 50% mark there are just way too many s*x scenes in this book. I felt like it cheapened their relationship and made it all seem physical? I'm not sure. But once I started skipping the smut l enjoyed it more.
I would have preferred two to three smut scenes removed for actual plot points.

After his father's death and the break up of his marriage, Wade Ashby has his family's ranch to manage. Of course, his brothers are there but the main responsibility falls on his shoulders. Then he hired a new horse trainer and his life gets just a little more complex. Cute story. A little predictable and a lot spicy.

It is the second book in her Silver Pines series.
It’s Wade and Ivy’s story.
It’s a grumpy/sunshine, workplace, forced proximity, spicy with a side of sweet romance.
Wade and Ivy have both built walls around their hearts and it seems that they both know how to break down the other’s walls.
I loved this book.
Wade Ashby has become a new favorite grumpy book boyfriend of mine. He knows how to talk dirty and also be sweet.
I definitely recommend this book. It’s a stand alone but I also recommend the other book in this series, Holding the Reins.

I loved this cowboy/rancher romance. Ivy is an incredibly strong character and I loved seeing the transformation of both characters at the end of the book! This book had a lot of horse training vocabulary that I was not super familiar with but did have a glossary in the back.

*I wish I would have read any content warnings more carefully about this one!*

I already knew this was going to be amazing wow. I will literally read anything this author writes.

I need the physical book immediately to put it on my shelf 🙂‍↕️

If you know me you know I WILL DEVOUR a cowboy romance every time!!

After reading the first book I couldn't wait to dive into book 2. I feel in love with Ivy almost instantly. And knew there was more under Wade's gruff exterior. I enjoyed ready their story but felt like there was a lot of Cole and Gingers story mixed in which took away from Ivy and Wade. It's really hard not to love the Ashby family though. I really wanted more details of Ivy and Wade and less of Cole and Ginger mixed in.

Wade Ashby the man that you are 😮‍💨😮‍💨 and Ivy?! I’m obsessed with a FMC that knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to get it. I love that Wade is obsessed with Ivy from day one and doesn’t know what to do with himself. Toeing the line of trying to keep things professional while things are clearly building between them emotionally is delicious to read.

I love what Paisley is doing with this series, the men are phenomenal and the women are forces to be reckoned with.

Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for gifting me the absolute privilege to read this book.

Training The Heart has solidified why Paisley Hope is now one of my favorite authors. This book is everything I’ve ever wanted in a small town romance! It’s charming, sweet, funny, sexy, emotional, swoonworthy; I absolutely love everything about it!

Let’s take a moment to talk about Wade Ashby.

WADE. ASHBY.

What a man! What a gorgeous, big-hearted hunk of a man! He’s officially on my list as one of the best book boyfriends of all time. How a grumpy, gruff, broody, deliciously filthy man can also be the sweetest, most perfect gentleman is beyond me. He’s perfection in every way! His emotional journey from being so done with love to falling madly in love was so satisfying. I loved watching him grow and open his heart up to Ivy! Nothing is better than a big, strong man becoming completely undone for a woman!

And sweet, sassy Ivy Spencer… She’s truly a woman after my own heart! I really couldn’t adore her more. She’s beautiful, smart, talented, carefree and just a breath of fresh air. Yes, she was a little broken inside from the emotional abuse her ex put her through and the situation with her mother, but that never stopped her from having dreams and wanting to live them. I admired her strength so much! She’s easily one of my favorite FMC ever!

The biggest highlight for me was the intense chemistry between Wade and Ivy. It was ELECTRIC. So much fire, so much passion, so much I-can’t-get-enough-of-you, I-have-to-have-you-right-now. They really had me screaming, kicking, fanning myself and taking a break for a glass of ice cold water to cool down! *whew*

I can’t recommend this book enough — This one is for the hopeless romantics who want a rugged, devastatingly handsome man a cowboy hat to come sweep them off their feet!

Training the Heart is the second installment in the Silver Pines Ranch series.

If you enjoy grumpy cowboys and steamy romances, you’ll love this one!

It’s instant attraction when Wade Ashby first meets Ivy Spencer, the new horse trainer on his ranch. (Very) slowly but surely they fall for each other.

I really enjoyed this story, it’s even steamier than the first!

I'm sad to report that this wasn't it for me. I just feel like this series is lacking something for me. I didn't much care for the first and the second was a bit of a downer and I was really hoping it would redeem itself. The beginning was really hard to go through cause I felt nothing pulling me in to care about the characters and the further I went and just was finishing to finish.

OKAY!!!!! I loved every second of this. I love a cowboy romance, and this one did not disappoint. Get ready to fall head over heels with these two.

Thanks to NetGalley for my ARC of Training the Heart by Paisley Hope, the second installment in the Silver Pines Ranch Serie. While this book didn't become a favorite in the cowboy subgenre, it offered an enjoyable read with its familiar blend of romance tropes: Grumpy/Sunshine and Dating my Boss.

The chemistry and relationship between Ivy and Wade, was fun but sometimes their relationship didn't seem real. This book is als0 very spicy... almost too spicy? Although I won't be re-reading this installment, I am curious to see how the series develops and intend to continue them as new books are published.

This is my first book from Paisley Hope and I love it!

I'm defintely going to have to check out the first novel in this series!!

Wade Ashby is a hunk and I'm obssesed. I also really like how Ivy was written as well.

*Thank you to Netgalley & Random House Publishing Group for providing me with an early copy of this book. All opinions are my own.*

Very cute! Fans of cowboy romance (like me) are going to love this one so much! I absolutely loved Ivy from the start, she was a very refreshing female main character.

My only thought was that this book was a little tooooo spicy for me. I found myself skipping over some of the spice scenes, but that's just my preference and I didn't enjoy the book any less. :) I think the insta-lust trope just might not be my favorite.

This book started off so well. I felt instantly connected to the characters and the tension was so good. Somewhere around 30% in the story started to lose it's pull and if it wasn't for how fantastic the smut was I might not have continued reading.

I love the way the author writes found family and the spice was so so good, but the rest felt lacking for about 50% of the book.

3.75 stars rounded up to 4 stars. I'm a sucker for a grumpy cowboy with a big heart and Wade did not disappoint. I really liked the first half of the book and bought into their attraction and liked how they got to know each other. I like my spicy scenes, but I thought there were maybe 1 or 2 scenes too many that didn't add to the story and slowed the book down slightly for me. I also thought there could have been a bit more showing of their relationship that led to them actually falling in love. All that being said, I had a good time reading this book and flew through it. I actually liked this better than Holding the Reins, the first book in this series. Witnessing the interactions between Cole and Ginger through Ivy's perspective made me look forward to reading the next book in the series!

Thanks to Net Galley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Dell for the e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

I love a grumpy cowboy & Wade Ashby is the grumpiest. I love Wade & Ivy almost as much as Nash & Cece. Paisley Hope writes the best dirty cowboys. Thank you Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine for the ARC

I really liked the characters, and the family dynamic is so endearing. I’m so happy to have returned to the ranch after book 1.

Like book 1, though, I think this book needed another pass through the editing process. Lots of run on sentences mixed with inconsistent plot-points/locations of where characters were moving to/located…little things that make a detail-oriented person a tiny bit crazy!

How is it possible that I loved this one more than the first...but I am not mad about it. Wade Ashby was everything...I love a grumpy MMC and he is the grumpiest of grumps. And the way he was an acts of service man....puddle on the floor.

Wade and Ivy were absolutely explosive together. She gave zero f*cks how grumpy Wade is...she pushed and challenged him anyway. I was giggling and kicking my feet the entre time during their banter. I could not get enough of them...and then when he got that tattoo...deceased!!!

I am loving this series and cannot wait for the next one.

Overall: 5
Spice: 3

Tropes:
Small Town
Grumpy x Sunshine
Boss x Employee
Forced Proximity
One Bed

I fear I will now be attached to every book in this series. Paisley Hope always has me wanting to read the next book as soon as I finish one! This book got me out of a reading slump that I have been in since OCTOBER!

Between the spice, the storyline of the ranch, the found family, the relationship between the couple, the EVERYTHING I am so here for.

I do feel like there was a small amount of insta-love in this book and that there wasn’t much build up in regards to affection or why the two cared for each other, until their relationship started, but otherwise I really loved how the writer depicted their relationship. I also feel like I wanted more depth in regards to Ivy’s training with Angel Wings as it was supposed to be a big part of the book but you don’t see much of it except for the highs or just stating what happens.

I really enjoyed this story and feel like it was fast paced making it enjoyable and quick to read. I will be immediately requesting the next from netgalley and have already recommended this series to multiple friends.
