Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for sending me this ARC.
Let me start off by saying I LOVED holding the reins, it was like a 5⭐️ for me. This one was good but it dragged for me. I feel like it was way too long and I got bored. The ending I loved because I don’t mind the pregnancy trope. Overall is was good but I loved the first one better ♥️

I had to DNF this book. I did not connect or find myself interested in finishing this book. I will not be posting any reviews of this book on any review apps or social media as I did not make it far enough to feel like I can provide an adequate opinion. I just know that this book was not for me.

If you know me, you know how much I love a cowboy/rancher romance and Training the Heart was so much fun, enjoyable and easy to read!!! The dynamic between Ivy and Wade reminded me a little bit of Cade and Willa from Heartless by Elsie Silver, minus the single daddy/nanny aspect!
Wade is your classic grumpy ranch owning man, who is closed off and broody, but is deep down a little softie for those who loves. He cares deeply, loves hard, and is incredibly loyal. Getting to see him let his walls down and open himself back up to love was so great and I enjoyed his character so much!!!
Ivy is a fiery, fun, and loving female lead. She’s an open book, kind, caring, and so enjoyable to get to know. I absolutely adored her personality, her depth, and getting to see her grow throughout the story. Her relationship with her mom broke my heart, but is something I think many people will be able to relate to! I adored her so much!!!
The relationship between these two is filled with chemistry, tension, love and care. I loved the way these two challenged each other, how their dynamic developed throughout the story, and getting to see them be each other’s “person”. They are both equally obsessed with each other & it makes everything even better. The smut in this book is so good, so fun, and works so perfectly with their personalities!!! I loved them, I loved getting to see them grow together, and I enjoyed every moment of their relationship.
Very happy to be back at Silver Pines Ranch and can’t wait to read the next one!!!

Book 1 was almost a five star read for be besides one scene that really brought the whole thing down. So I was excited about this book. I got an arc and I was super pumped to read it. Yall know I love a cowboy.
Wade and Ivy are fun! Grumpy/sunshine? Check. Boss/employee? Check. A little bit of forced proximity. A little bit of forbidden. A little bit of one bed and some hot as sin tattoos. Check.
What didn't work for me was there was this whole beautiful framework of a killer story. Everything that was being dealt with before they got together set up a really spectacular story. And then when they got together it was like sex on sex on sex on sex. The first time there was a sex scene it was 5 chapters long. Then 2 chapters of plot (maybe) and then more sex scenes. And then more sex scenes. Which is fine but book 1 was NOT set up that way and if I was expecting it I think it would have been fine. However, because most of the book was dealing with sex, we didn't truly see the deep emotional connection between the mains and I felt like the actual issues in the 3rd act weren't as heart breaking as maybe the author wanted them to be because the foundation of this couple is... sex. Could be just me but what do I know? Am I going to keep reading this series? 100000000%

Gosh I love this series and cowboys written by Paisley Hope.
Wade & Ivy are the book couple I didn’t know I needed in my life.
Running away from her abusive ex, Ivy lands a temp job as a horse trainer at Silver Pines Ranch. She instantly hits it off with the Ashby family & friends and catches the eye of the grumpy rancher Wade Ashby. Together they decided to train and make a go at winning a Kentucky derby, during the process the two of them realize maybe they were brought together for a reason and are gifted with an unexpected surprise.
UGH Wade Ashby, where do I even begin? We all know I LOVE a grumpy cowboy, but he is just something else. I love how caring he is with his gruff touch her and die vibes. I just love an MMC who help show the FMC what she’s really worth.
Ivy, a fellow spicy romance loving girl, was SO relatable and I just wanted to wrap her in a warm hug. She has overcome so much. I loved her relationship she formed with Wade’s sister Cece and her friends and how she just fit right in with the crew.
I also really enjoyed all of the representation in this book, from emotional abuse, to divorce, to alcoholism, accidental pregnancy although they can be triggers to some I felt like it added a lot of depth to this book and the characters. So please be mindful of these triggers if you read. 💖
If you enjoy..

Wade and Ivy, oof. The chemistry and the steam is there. I enjoyed their story and really enjoyed their future timeline. Wade does the grumpy MMC very well and I think Ivy is the perfect compliment to him. My biggest highlight is Wades dedication to Ivy. How he supports her and encourages her without controlling her. Negative is that the first half of the book really felt like a copy and paste of book one but it was still really good!
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House Publishing for this ARC!

4.5 YEEEEE HAAAAW STARS !
I thought Nash Carter wasn’t going to have any competition but Wade Ashby has now entered the chat ! And boy oh boy he has met his match with Ivy Spencer ! Wade is looking for a new head horse trainer to be hired for his ranch + Ivy is just the right woman for the job . Except that she is quit the spitfire, full of life + completely off limits because she is his employee . But when an accident happens on the ranch, Wade is the first to step up to help Ivy by letting her move into his house . Things may become a little more complicated now .. yay !! The banter between this grumpy cowboy + the women who brings color into his life is so wonderful ! I cannot wait to see what book three will bring us .
This is book two in the Silver Pines Ranch series + it can be read as a complete standalone .
This book was given to me for honest review by NetGalley .

“Let go, Ivy, soak my face. Fucking suffocate me, and see my name when you do.”
"Spread these thighs for me as wide as you can now, I’m fucking desperate for this sweet c*nt. But first… the only hat allowed on your head while I bury my tongue inside you is mine.”
Omg this book!!! I might even love it more than the first, Holding The Reins! Paisley Hope is now in my top favorites. I love cowboy romances and this book is everything. We get Wade, who is this delicious grumpy cowboy who doesn’t want to have to deal with Ivy but wants her at the same time. I loved Ivy and her happy personality and yet, she’s tough as nails! I like how she would make Wade eat his words at times ha ha ha! The way Wade would call her, "Trouble” had me swooning. I really like the pacing of this book. The story was very interesting and you really got to see the depth in the characters and how they grew closer to each other. The spicy scenes were so freaking hot in this romance! Hello, Wade tattoos his hand so it says “Mine” when he chokes Ivy!!! One of the best parts about this book was the fact that there was no third act breakup. I loved how both Ivy and Wade talked out their struggles and how they were there for each other no matter what. It really showed how committed they were and how it wasn’t a fling romance. Before I finish my review, I must talk about that extra epilogue we get. An ANAL SEX SCENE! Thank you Paisley Hope for not letting us down!

I finished Holding The Reins and immediately had to dive into Training The Heart. I was so looking forward to Ivy and Wade’s story. Grumpy Wade falling for Ivy was such a rollercoaster of fun. I absolutely loved his possessiveness and really enjoyed the chemistry between these two. I cannot wait to see what’s in store for Cole and Ginger!
Thank you NetGalley, Paisley Hope, Random House Publishing Group, and Dell Romance for the ARC to Training The Heart!

Whoa this was spicy! I didn’t expect there to be so much spice. I loved the plot and this kind of took away from that. It was a cute love story!

I’m firmly on the Paisley Hope train after this one! Love a good cowboy/rancher hero and the heroine was a hoot to boot! Also a shoutout to the pretty covers because they’re illustrated but not with characters, rather of landscapes which I love even more! Please keep it coming, Miss Hope!

Wade Ashby is absolutely AMAZING!! This man had me swooning at the first page!! Paisley, your men keep getting better and better!! I didn’t even think that could be possible because I loved Nash! Nope, Wade knocked it out of the park! I’m obsessed!
The way this man takes care of Ivy…swoon! The banter between them…double swoon! The way this man has no shame..I’m done!! Wade is by far one of my top 5 favorite book boyfriends!
Everything about this book is amazing!!
I’m so ready for Cole and Ginger! It’s going to be so good!! Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I love this author but I didn’t care for this book. It felt like there was a lot of popular tropes she wanted to use and the story was built around it. I couldn’t really connect with the characters.

Paisley Hope is one of my favorite authors that writes western romances. I love a good cowboy romance, and the way Paisley writes is next level. I love her characters and their story every time. Wade and Ivy were MADE for each other!! I fell in love with these characters and their journey together. I fall head over heels every time for Paisley's characters. I truly cannot wait to see what Paisley has in store next!! I think she writes cowboys like no other and I am so looking forward to more!!

Y'all this one was so good I couldn't decide what kind of post to make so I made them all 🤭. We have a grumpy ranch owner, Wade with an ex wife that is like a leech. Then a sunny horse trainer, Ivy who also has a toxic ex. These two get together and heal so many wounds within each other it's absolutely beautiful.
Now.... I think this one gets the title for spiciest cowboy 🤠 romance yet. WADE 🥵🥵🥵 do you kiss your mama with those lips!! There were SOO many spicy quotes I highlighted that I just know would get taken down.
So many swoon worthy moments for me with this one. The little things, the scrunchies, the m&Ms, and so many big moments. Wade is absolutely the perfect book boyfriend.
I don't normally touch books with alcoholism in them because it touches too close to home with family but I think Paisley did a great job with it. I think the found family and solid group of side characters really helped make it work.
Thank you @netgalley @dellromance and Paisley for this ARC.

This was my first book by Paisley Hope but it will definitely not be my last. I had such a fantastic time reading this book.
Wade and Ivy together were so so good. The character development as they grow as people and as a couple was so heartwarming to see. Ivy learning to rely on other people and learn to trust again is a journey I hold close to my heart.
The intimacy they hold for eachother was giggle worthy and I was definition kicking my feet during some scenes. The hand tattoo, need I say more?

4.5 stars
I liked this one a bit more I think then Holding the Reins. I love how grumpy
Wade is to Ivy's sunshine. This workplace romance, forced proximity worked very well. Ivy is temporarily hired to take over Sam's place to train the horses. They have a lot of banter between the two and both have bad exes we get to see. This one sure was fast paced and I just loved the Ashby family dinner time that was fun! Can't wait for more.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Thank you to Paisley Hope, Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine, and NetGalley for this ARC! I once again was in the mood for a fun cowboy romance and that’s exactly what I got! I enjoyed Holding the Reins so much and I hoped that this story would be even better since it’s the next one in the series. I will say, the writing and the characters were definitely better in my opinion. I think that I enjoyed this one a little bit more. I loved the storyline regarding fertility and I think it was done pretty well. I felt for the Ivy and what she went through in the past. I admired Wade’s stubbornness and how that translated into his love for Ivy. He was not going to let anyone treat her any type of way! They were such a fun couple but also knew each other so deeply. Not only did Wade know Ivy’s desires, but he went above and beyond to make sure she was happy!
My only complaint with this story was that it was just too spicy for me. The first one was spicy as well but not nearly as much as this one, if I am remembering correctly. I had to skip several scenes because I was just tired of it. This may be great for those who loved Cade in Heartless by Elsie Silver but wanted more steamy scenes.
Overall, I would recommend Training the Heart for someone who wants a fun, spicy cowboy romance with found family.

This was so cute! I haven't always had great luck with cowboy romances but I did really love this one. I thought the characters worked great together, and the banter and chemistry was off the roof. It was kinda giving Done and Dusted vibes, but in the "really good cowboy romance I'll always think about" kind of way. A super fun read for a day in!

I think I loved this second Silver Pines Ranch even more than the first!! A dual POV, grumpy x sunshine, workplace romance between Wade, the eldest Ashby struggling under the burden of trying to restore the family ranch in the wake of his father's death and Ivy, the new horse trainer he hires who he can't help but find irresistible.
Full of forced proximity chemistry, tons of spicy moments, only one bed, cameos from past characters and lots of emotional depth (Ivy also has trauma from her abusive ex). Great on audio and highly recommended for fans of authors like Elsie Silver or Becka Mack. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review! I'm excited for the next book by this new cowboy romance must read Canadian author.
CW: emotionally abusive ex, infertility diagnosis, alcoholic parent
