I found Concrete Dreamland really engaging. A personal narrative of race/class/place/era, it brought me into the Brooklyn I'd never been to (yet heard about from my mom). Sounds like talking to a friend. I would love to read more!

Starting off as a slow burn, we are introduced to the circumstances in which Patrick Doughter matured. This is proof that a chaotic and unpredictable childhood will not end a life, but nurture it. One man’s journey from a statistic to a brilliant success. This is a must read memoirs that will leave you shattered before it picks up your pieces to remind you that you are loved. Thank you for writing this book!
