This was an enjoyable reading experience.

This was a fantastic read, even though it’s not my usual genre. I’ve only read one other book by this author, but it definitely won’t be my last. The story was gripping and well-written, though it does contain themes of abuse—so I recommend checking trigger warnings before diving in.

I am so unwell. I had a feeling as to what this book would be about, but I was not prepared for what it actually was. Melody was a phenomenal FMC and I hope to gain an ounce of her forgiveness in my lifetime.

The perfect grumpy x sunshine, but her sunshine isn’t what you think it is. It’s real sunshine and that means she can’t be the happiest person in the world 24/7. The sun has dark days too.

Jennifer Hartmann, another masterpiece.

The Wrong Heart tackles heavy emotional themes with Jennifer Hartmann’s signature depth, and there’s no doubt it’ll resonate with readers who love angst-filled romance. The premise—centered around grief, guilt, and unexpected connection—is compelling, and the writing is immersive.

However, the pacing felt uneven, especially in the middle, and some plot points stretched believability, pulling me out of the story. The emotional weight was strong, but at times leaned too heavily into melodrama rather than organic development. I also struggled to fully connect with the characters’ decisions, which occasionally felt inconsistent.

Still, fans of emotionally intense romances may appreciate the catharsis this story offers. It just didn’t quite hit all the right notes for me.

This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster—bringing tears, laughter, and everything in between. Hartmann’s writing is beautifully lyrical yet deeply impactful. The characters were incredibly authentic, and their pain was felt on every page.

I enjoyed this book so much! It emotionally devastated me. I flew through it in one sitting - couldn’t put it down!

I absolutely loved Parker as a character, I loved him and watching growth was beautiful.

The twists were great and I wish more romance books had them!

The epilogue gutted me!!!

If you need to cry, this is the book for you. Its amazingly heartbreaking, one that I dont think I will ever get over. 5 stars. Infinity 5 stars!

Wow. This book absolutely broke me—in the best way possible. The raw emotion, the aching grief, and the fragile hope woven through every page had me completely captivated. The way the author handled such heavy themes with such tenderness and honesty felt incredibly real and deeply moving. Watching the protagonist navigate heartbreak while reaching out to the unknown recipient of her late husband’s heart was heartbreaking and beautiful all at once. It’s a story about loss, connection, and finding a way forward when everything feels shattered. I couldn’t put it down, and it stayed with me long after I finished. A flawless 5-star read that hits straight to the heart.

The start was kind of slow and I ended up DNFing around 45%. It's something that I might try again later,but not for me. Thank you to the publisher and netgalley

I love Jennifer Hartmann and this book was no different. I think I went through every single emotion while reading this book. Melody and Parker are fantastic MC's and Hartmann did a fantastic job of bringing out their emotions, both good and bad. The plot was interesting, and the twist was unexpected. I can normally figure it out but this book had me guessing until the every end.

Jennifer Hartmann is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I love her writing and dang the story and characters. It.felt like I was there and I could connect to.the characters so easily

First and foremost Jennifer Hartmann is an absolute gem of an author. I've loved every book of theirs that I've read and this was no exception. I knew from the moment I started reading it that it was going to be an emotional read but it was so good. You definitely should go in to this blindly, which is what I did and I'm glad that I did. There were so many twists and emotional roller coaster moments. Parker and Melody's story is painfully beautiful yet so unforgettable. Thank you so much for the ARC.

Jennifer Hartmann has quickly become a favorite author. I've enjoyed everything I've read by her and can't wait to get my hands on more. This book is no exception. I'm not an emotional reader at all, you won't see me crying at books but hers have come close and this one made my eyes water up a little bit. Loved the story, the characters, their progression and all their flaws. And definitely appreciated the epilogue.

One minute I'm cracking up laughing (probably looking like a complete weirdo to anyone walking by me), and the next I'm literally SOBBING into my coffee. Not even exaggerating! My heart got absolutely SHATTERED into a million pieces... and then this magical author somehow managed to put it back together again??

Like how dare Jennifer play with my feelings this way but also PLEASE NEVER STOP??

I swear I went through the entire human emotion spectrum in just a few hundred pages. Joy, anger, hope, devastation, relief - this book checked ALL the boxes. And honestly? I was living for every single second of it.

When a book can make you feel THIS much, you know it's something special. 10/10 would let this author emotionally destroy me again!
