I was hooked immediately! Jennifer Hartmann came out guns a blazin' with a very emotional start that I wasn't prepared for! The emotions continued throughout in very different ways and I felt so connected to the characters and couldn't help rooting for them all! Melody's journey was raw and honest, intense and devastating, but I was so happy for her in the end! I was so happy Parker came into her life and learning his story was equally devastating but also so incredible to see his transformation.

Jennifer Hartmann has become one of my top favorite authors this year. Her ability to tug on my heartstrings by pulling a wide range of emotions is incredible. The Wrong Heart is no exception. Feeling happiness to devastation…love and light…and all the emotions in between. I read this one so quickly…I couldn’t put it down once I started it. Thank you, NetGalley for allowing me the opportunity to read and review this ARC!

Unfortunately, the MMC was far too unlikeable for me. I cannot get over how mean and rude he was to the FMC considering she didn't do anything except exist. That mixed with the trauma candy salad, lead this to be hard for me to get through. I liked the poetic writing and was really intrigued with the premise but it was outweighed by how much I can't get behind this romance.

This was such a beautifully well written story. Jennifer truly has a way with words and it’s the reason why she’s one of my favorite authors. I was captivated from the beginning and couldn’t stop reading from that point on! This book deals with some heavy topics and I think Jennifer really handled them well. I laughed, I sobbed and almost cried. Seeing Parker and Melody, two wounded souls fall in love with each other was very beautiful and I loved reading about their healing journey. The epilogue was very bittersweet and a great ending to a beautiful story. If you’re a fan of Jennifer’s work, I highly recommend this book, you will not regret it!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for providing me this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This beautiful book is about loss and second chances so get ready for an emotional journey.
The grumpy/sunshine dynamic was spot on, and after knowing the traumatic pasts of both characters, it makes you love Parker and Melody even more. I loved Parker’s character so friggen much, he showed so much vulnerability which we don’t often see in MMCs. Then there is Melody who has been through enough herself and still doesn’t give up on herself or Parker 🥹. They end up finding solace in each other and form a beautiful bond which slowly turns into something more. There were twists and turns that kept me on my feet!
I will say, it took me a little bit to get into the story but I was hooked 20-30% in. Also, not sure how I felt about the epilogue and without giving anything away, I think the story could have ended a chapter before.
Please know there were some heavy topics and I didn’t notice any TWs in the book.
With this being my second Jennifer Hartmann book, I think I can officially say I absolutely adore her books. She makes me forget I’m reading, her writing is beautiful and brings up so many emotions. I can’t wait to delve into more written by Jennifer.

This book is now being traditionally published and will be released December 31, 2024. I just received an arc and here is my honest review.
If you have ever read any of Jennifer Hartman’s book you understand the emotional journey her books take you on from start to finish. This book had me right from the 1st chapter to the last words of the epilogue. Grab your tissues you are going to need them.
The story follows Melody who has had a life altering
experience that has left her in a dark place and Parker who is fighting to put his past behind him.
This is a beautiful love story of healing from grief and trauma and learning to love again and to open up and trust.
“You’re the moon.”
“You’re the guiding light in a dark sky.”
“You shine strong when the rest of the world is asleep…when no one is even looking.”
I absolutely adore Parker and how his character developed throughout the story. He is your grumpy cold, misunderstood man who becomes intrigued with Melody and her annoyingly beautiful smiles. Melody is brave and struggling to live and is fascinated with Parker even though he is emotionally closed off.
The character growth of both the main characters is really well written.
The Plot Twist got me I didn't see it coming, well done!!!
The ending left me completely satisfied the story was rounded off nicely.
This book had me feeling all feelings and I couldn’t help but give this book 5 ⭐️ and 3 🌶️ on the spice level.
Happy Reading.

4.5 stars!
"Jennifer Hartmann don't break my heart" challenge. She will always win and I will always lose because her books always know how to pierce your soul right to the very core. "The Wrong Heart" is a roller coaster of emotion, pain, darkness, and renewal. It ran me through a gamut of emotions. I bawled, I chuckled, I yearned, I was shocked, I was in pain, I was happy, I was angry... wow. It is raw as heck, but also vulnerable and powerful, too. I loved the characters and their journeys. It is a beautiful ode to humanity, or rather finding it again after tragedy. I have read and enjoyed multiple Jennifer Hartmann novels, and this one is no different. Hartmann handles difficult subject matters with ease, entertainment, and heart. It's fabulous if you love darker romance stories with twists, turns, emotions, and the bareness of being human. It may destroy you, but it will destroy you in the best way.
Thank you to NetGalley, Jennifer Hartmann, SOURCEBOOKS Bloom Books, and Bloom Books for the complimentary ARC of this book. All opinions are my own. I was not compensated for this review.

I had no idea I would enjoy this book as much as I did. That first chapter hooked me in and it held my attention the entire way through. There was so much pain and emotion throughout this story, it was full of angst and even though I felt my heart crack multiple times whilst reading it also made me smile.

I’m practically tearing up on my couch right now after pulling an all-nighter binge-reading this incredible book! There aren’t enough words to capture the sheer beauty of it. This book has to be one of the most gut-wrenching yet uplifting stories I’ve ever encountered. I know it's going to stick with me for a long, long time. This is such an emotional rollercoaster that makes you feel every single thing imaginable! I’m definitely going to read more from this author!!

I honestly loved this book so much. This was my first book by this author, surprisingly. The storyline was tragic and heartbreaking. I loved the characters, and was rooting for each of them the whole time. I will say the epilogue being so far in the future was heartbreaking. I could have done with the first mini epilogue.

Thank you Bloom Books and Netgalley
I love this. I think Jennifer Hartman has a type of book niche that works amazingly. It's a mix of tragedy but romantic. She doesn't glorify the serious topics of the book but instead allows the characters to grow from the trauma. This book continues that theme. It just works amazingly.

Omg what a book! Cried my eyes out the whole way through it! Defo worth a read , highly recommends !thank you net galley for the early read it
Was amazing

Another book by Jennifer Hartmann that I loved! I don’t know how she writes all these amazing books. Definitely one of my favorite authors of all time. This book made me cry but by the end of the book I’m thanking the author for all those sad tears. Another winner of a book! Can’t wait to read more.
Thank you NetGalley and Bloom Books for the arc of this book.

Like the other books I have read from Jennifer this tackles heavy topics and is not a light and fluffy read, it will tug on your heartstrings.
"All broken things can be fixed. The hard part is deciding that they're worth fixing."
Our main characters go on a journey of healing together, there are ups and downs and walls to be broken but above all, love.
Without giving too much away there was a small detail involving the bridge incident that I thought didn't need to be included as our FMC never finds out, but if our FMC was told this detail then it would also add to her grief.
The scene in the rain played out like a movie in my head which I loved but also FU Parker for leaving like that, there were a few moments when I wanted to shout at him for his behaviour/information he withheld.
I think the book would have worked just fine without the epilogue but she just had to stamp on our hearts one last time. I don't quite know how I feel about it as there could have been more explanation but it's definitely emotional.
This is a heartfelt story with moments of sunshine and a little twist in there too.

This book is a rollercoaster -- deeply heartfelt and meaningful (in typical JH fashion).
But BOY is it PAINFUL. There are some dark and deep themes that will dug at your heartstrings in all the right ways. I had no idea what to expect from this book and went in TOTALLY blind. I asked for the arc solely on the basis that it is a Jennifer Hartmann book and I was not disappointed. These characters are extremely relatable and this story is one that deserved to be told. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to read this edition of the book early!
My only qualm with this book is the plot twist. I was shocked by it (which takes a lot; I appreciate being shocked), but I think I would have appreciated it going in the direction we were being led the entire time.
However, I enjoy anything and everything Jennifer Hartmann writes and this one is certainly no different!
Thank you Bloom Books and Jennifer Hartmann for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Jennifer Hartmann wrote a beautiful book. This was an emotional book that made me feel so much. I enjoyed the deep exploration of grief. I read this in a literal night. I cried. I shouted and loved every single moments. You should preview triggers.

“All broken things can be fixed. The hard part is deciding that they’re worth fixing.”
I had my future all planned out.
A fairytale.
Then, on my five-year wedding anniversary, my dreams shatter. My husband is cruelly ripped away from me, leaving my broken heart behind.
But he leaves another heart behind, too…
His.
Drowning in grief, I reach out to his heart recipient, while seeking solace in a support group for fellow lost souls. Determined to find the bright, optimistic woman I used to be, I never expect what awaits me there.
Enter Parker.
Dark, brooding, emotionally detached. He’s the opposite of me in every way, yet I’m inexplicably drawn to him. As our bond deepens, so do the secrets that come to light, challenging everything I thought I knew about love and loss, and blurring the line between heartache and hope.
In a world where hearts break, I lost mine once.
Now, another heart holds the power to heal me…or destroy me.
This book!! Holy smokes! This book was emotional, raw, and angsty. The twist was so unexpected. Everything Jennifer Hartmann writes will hold a special place in my heart forever.

💔 A deeply emotional story of grief, healing, and unexpected second chances. 💔
In The Wrong Heart, Jennifer Hartmann weaves a poignant and heart-wrenching tale of loss and redemption. When Melody March’s happily ever after is cut short, she’s left with nothing but the broken pieces of her once-perfect life. With her beloved husband gone, all that remains is the heart he left behind—literally. His donated heart now beats in another man’s chest, a stranger who carries a piece of the man she lost.
Desperate to find meaning in her husband’s death, Melody sets out to meet his heart’s new host, hoping for a connection that might help ease the ache of her grief. Instead, she finds herself drawn toward Parker—dark, brooding, and wounded in his own way. He’s nothing like the bright and optimistic person she used to be, yet something about their shared darkness makes the possibility of healing feel real, maybe even hopeful.
But as past secrets and unexpected truths surface, Melody and Parker must decide if the love growing between them can survive the weight of what’s been lost—and what they stand to gain if they learn to trust again.
✨ Why You’ll Love It:
• Intense Emotional Depth: A raw exploration of grief, heartbreak, and the long road to healing.
• Intricate Character Connections: The intersection of two broken lives told with tenderness and honesty.
• Redemption & Hope: A reminder that even the deepest wounds can mend with compassion, courage, and love.
If you’re drawn to stories that tug at every heartstring and leave you breathless in their wake, The Wrong Heart is a must-read. This is a book that shows how life can go on after unimaginable loss—and how love can find you in the most unexpected places.

This is my second Jennifer Hartmann book and she is quickly becoming a fav of mine. She writes such captivating and gritty romance, when I say this wowed me, I mean capital WOW with infinite exclamation points. I was enthralled! I read past my bedtime and couldn’t sleep because I just wanted to keep reading. This book challenged me and made me think without being challenging to read. I love the plot and the characters, the overall story was so beautifully written that I just could not put this down and when I had to I literally lost sleep wanting to pick it back up. it is a rare for a romance book to keep me this on the edge of my seat and include a few twists that truly shook me. Well done, 5 stars!

I really enjoyed this book. It kept me engaged and it only took a few days to read. I think this is going to be a good book club option for several clubs. I plan recommending to my book friends and I look forward to reading more by this author.
