It started out promising — multiple timelines and POVs to read from and I kept wondering how they would all connect. What could be the reason behind a tense honeymoon and who was this third character following the happy couple around Paris? The reasoning for the connection was very unexpected and surprising, but then the ending ruined it because it was too vague.
While the writing was excellent and suspenseful, the characters were irritating and the last quarter of the book was a little anti-climatic. It was a quick read

Wow! I was drawn in by the first sentence: "Sometimes Paris is a terrible idea." Hard to imagine but definitely true here.
Readers will wait to see how this plot comes together and who among, and how, the characters will survive. They are an interesting, not always likeable, group of people.
Pick this one up if you would like to read a suspenseful story set in the City of Lights. The author is French which adds some verisimilitude to the settings.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for this title. All thoughts are my own.

3.5 rounded up to 4. This one was a fun popcorn thriller that is the kinda book to help you out of a slump. Everyone was shady and not the best but it was fun and kept you interested!

I had a hard time connecting with the MCs - I found them to be unlikeable and so I struggled with this book. While there were some thrilling moments it was not my favorite.

Lies and Secrets.,
A disastrous honeymoon, lies, secrets galore. Character driven suspense where nothing is as it seems, where the ultimate city of love takes on a new form and where people become pawns in the agenda of others. A complex and tangled plot peopled with a truly awful cast of characters who will go to any lengths, it seems, to reach their own personal agendas. Compelling and engaging.

OH the twists, the turns, the intrigue! The French Honeymoon did take some brain power trying to piece together at first. I felt like a drunken blind person trying to figure out who these people were, why Taylor was in Paris and just what was so interesting about Cassie and Olivier.
Everything that unfolded, I'm just shook. This was an easily unputdownable read that leaves readers questioning every interaction and just who to possibly root for. That ending? Right back to drunken blind reader because WHAT WAS THAT?! Am I supposed to leave this up for interpretation? How can we possibly just leave it like that with such a bomb of an ending? I need to know more and while I have no idea in the slightest what a sequel would even cover, I wasn't ready to say goodbye to these characters just yet. Mark of a good story I suppose!

The French Honeymoon by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau was my first read by this author, and it’s a deliciously twisted thriller that turns the romantic fantasy of Paris into a psychological minefield. The story follows Taylor Quinn, who arrives in the City of Love alone, clutching stolen cash and nursing a broken heart. Her honeymoon suite is booked but there’s no groom, no suitcase, and no plan. Across the hall, she spots Cassie and Olivier, a picture-perfect couple basking in newlywed bliss. But as Taylor’s obsession with them grows, she begins to unravel the illusion and herself.
The plot cleverly alternates between Taylor’s unraveling psyche and Cassie’s curated social media life. Beneath Cassie’s glamorous posts lies a crumbling marriage built on secrets and manipulation. Olivier, charming but elusive, has his own motives, and Taylor’s fixation on their relationship becomes increasingly dangerous. The character interactions are laced with tension and voyeurism, as Taylor inserts herself deeper into their lives, unable to distinguish between envy, desire, and self-destruction. Jouhanneau captures the performative nature of modern relationships with eerie precision, making every interaction feel like a performance with stakes far higher than likes and comments.
The twist comes when Taylor discovers that Cassie and Olivier’s marriage isn’t just strained it’s transactional, built on immigration necessity and emotional deceit. As Taylor’s own secrets surface, the lines between victim and villain blur. The conclusion is darkly satisfying: no one escapes Paris unscathed, and the final chapters leave readers questioning who was truly in control all along. Jouhanneau’s debut adult novel is a sharp, atmospheric exploration of identity, obsession, and the lies we tell to survive—and I’ll definitely be watching for what she writes next.

This was a great book. I loved every paragraph, every sentence and every word of this masterpiece! I read it in 12 hours, which is a lot for me to do! It had everything and more laid out in the novel! I sure hope There is more to come from this author! I am totally hooked!

Ok first of all the setting was so great. I visited Paris about 20 years ago and thought it was magical so this definitely brought me back.
Cassie was the moat obnoxious character but that is what I also loved about her. She made you love to hate her and if you didn’t have a character like this, then books wouldn’t be entertaining.
The whole issue of marrying someone for a green card was an interesting plot idea. I kept thinking of the movie The Proposal, but this one wasn’t nearly as funny.
The multiple POV’s was really very well done. When the twist involving Taylor hit, I was like omg what?! That was awesome! I didn’t see it coming at all. This had me guessing the whole time, and per usual, I was way off. If I predicted every plot twist that would be awful honestly, so I am really glad I suck at it.
The flow of the story was great and it kept me interested the whole way, I flew through this book, read it in two days. I am definitely going to be looking out for more from this author.

A like, but sadly not a love. For a thriller, it was on the slower side and I was hoping for more of a faster pace. Absolutely no one in this is likable, which is fine for a thriller, and that did not put me off at all. I also figured out one of the reveals right away so when it was finally stated and actually revealed, it felt lackluster. Other reviewers complained about the ambiguous ending but I didn't mind that. It adds more mystery to it, and I feel confident in my belief of what happened.

This book was fantastic , very atmospheric and dark .
I never wanted to put it down , I loved the plot and the setting .
I cannot wait to see what this author comes up with next .

Paris, according to Lonely Planet’s Experience France, is all bistros, art, and unforgettable experiences.
But according to The French Honeymoon by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau?
It’s stolen cash, suspiciously curated Instagram posts, and the kind of twisted triangle that no guidebook could ever prepare you for.
Taylor arrives in Paris solo—no husband, no luggage, but plenty of emotional baggage (and actual stolen money). When she becomes obsessed with seemingly perfect newlyweds Cassie and Olivier, things spiral fast. But no one in this love triangle is telling the whole truth—and as their glossy façades crack, you’ll be questioning everything and everyone right up to the final, haunting page.
✨ It’s voyeuristic.
✨ It’s morally messy.
✨ It’s full of twists you won’t see coming—and an ending that’ll have you flipping back to see what you missed.
Would Lonely Planet’s Experience France have helped them avoid all this drama? Probably not. There’s no chapter for “How Not to End Up in a Psychosexual Power Struggle in a Parisian Hotel Suite.”
📚Read this if you’re craving:
💋 The dark side of the City of Love
🎭 Characters who are as unreliable as they are unhinged
🔀 A twisty, addictive ride with an ending that refuses to tie things up neatly
📘 The French Honeymoon – seductive, suspenseful, and dripping with tension

I really enjoyed this one! While I was able to figure out a couple of the twists, I still enjoyed the book as a whole. I truly despised Cassie, which I think was intentional. I also liked the dual timeline that was from Olivier’s perspective. All in all, this was a good book and I definitely recommend! Thank you @netgalley for my advanced copy. This book is out now in both print and audio.

This was an excellent mystery. Let me say, however, that the worst character ever was in this story...a truly horrible person that Cassie is. So good right up until the last page, which may leave you thinking..."Hmmm?"

Thank you for the opportunity to read this book! At this time I will not be reading or reviewing. I will update if I do read in the future!

I just love the diversity of thrillers that come from Source. They never disappoint and this one is sure to be added to that list for me.

Sometimes, Paris is a terrible idea.
This is not how she imagined it, any of it. Taylor Quinn arrives at her honeymoon suite in the City of Love alone, sans suitcase, but with wads of stolen cash. When she catches a glimpse of newlyweds Cassie and Olivier enjoying their happily ever, she can't tear her eyes away. And Cassie makes their antics easy to follow as she reveals every detail of their picture-perfect trip on social media. Taylor's obsession builds as she tracks their every move. This was the kind of life she was supposed to be living, this was the marriage she should have had, this was the honeymoon she dreamed of.
The illusion is shattered when she overhears a heated argument between Cassie and Olivier, which reveals that they're not the lovestruck couple they pretend to be. But Cassie and Olivier have agendas of their own and Taylor can't see the danger in getting in the middle of this until it's too late. And now, no one will get out of Paris unscathed.

I tried to get into this, but found it couldn't keep my interest. I put a hold on the audiobook as I like to always try reading a book a different way because I find sometimes that makes a difference. I liked the story a lot better except the French on the male narrator was AWFUL. It didn't matter what speed it was at. The description of the book interested me and I was sad it wasn't one that made me want to keep reading on the page. I would have devoured the audio, but I DNF'd due to the narrator's awful accent.

This was a DNF for me. I did not enjoy the characters and I could not get interested in the plot. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the e-arc.

Thank you to the publisher for the #gifted NetGalley widget. I borrowed the audio from Libby.
This is my first book from this author and I’m hoping to add more to my TBR soon.
The characters are complex and I enjoyed how the three different POVs. The way the author weaves the backstory in is done well. At one point I had a listen to a certain scene a couple times, thinking, no way that just happened!
The audio narrators are excellent. Amanda Troop and AW Miller deliver top performances. The accents are flawless as they carry these characters through the story.
The author delivers a solid plot with characters I loved to hate at times. And twists are many and full of surprises. I’d seen some posts about the ending and WOW!
This is strong language at times and 2 fade to black scenes, mentions of sex but no details.

This definitely kept me reading. The trio of Taylor, Cassie and Oliver were really too much to resist in what was a solid thriller, encompassing pretty much every thriller trope you can name.
