This was a twisty fast paced thriller. I liked the Paris setting and the multiple points of view. I found all the characters to be really unlikeable and the only loser in this book was poor Darren. This would be a great read for fans of Freida McFadden. I love a delusional main character but Cassie was just a mess. Cassie marries Olivier after only knowing him for a few days. She wants to make her ex boyfriend jealous and he wants a Green Card. Taylor, Cassie's adopted sister, is stuck in the middle watching this entire mess go down. Thanks to NetGalley and Sourcebooks for this ARC.

The French Honeymoon by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau
3/5 🌟

This was a solid thriller with lots of mysteries quickly unfolding which I appreciated. The premise wasn’t super unique but the way the information was layered in was. We find out quickly Taylor is in Paris with an ulterior motive and knows more than she should about Cassie and Olivier a honeymooning couple in Paris.

A dual perspective book with Cassie and Taylor. Cassie is clearly a mean girl and bully who always gets her way and Taylor is finally trying to get what she back at her for it all. We find out they share a mother (Cassie by birth, Taylor by foster then adopted) but Taylor has always been second fiddle and torn down by these two.

Taylor is now following Cassie and her new husband around Paris with a plan to kill her sister and be with her husband back in America. A wild plan but with the background you want her to succeed. I liked the writing style but the plot just felt it never fully grabbed me.

This book was a fast-paced wild ride! The blurb compares this book to The Paris Apartment, but I actually liked this one more than The Paris Apartment. I finished this book in practically two sittings. I am honored to have the opportunity to interview the author for my podcast so I can hear more about her inspiration and her writing process.

*spoiler alert* An enjoyable read overall, though the timeline—especially around Olivier and Cassie’s engagement, weddings, and honeymoon—felt a bit muddled. There were some solid twists, like the Therese/Taylor reveal and Cassie’s decision to change her will in favor of someone she despises. It’s impressive when a book makes you root for a murder and also feel sad when a would-be conspirator dies. The descriptions of Paris and the scenery were vivid and well done. That said, I’m not a fan of ambiguous endings.

This starts as a slow burn thriller where you're not really sure if you're "rooting" for any of the characters. The tension in the first half is mostly based off of the narrators not giving you the full story, which is a pet peeve of mind. I enjoyed the ride quite a bit more when the pace picked up in the second half, but fair warning that we're left with an ambiguous which left me unsatisfied.

This story follows two women who are in Paris for their honeymoons, both ironically are not on the honeymoon they are pretending to be. This one didn't work for me. The twists were all ones you could see from a mile away. It just felt like a formulaic thriller that hit all the same beats of every other thriller.

This one fell in the middle of the road for me. It started off strong and I was intrigued, plus I found the main twist in the first half of the book to be clever. But then I found myself not invested in the characters since they are all so unlikable. The pace remained even but never felt like it built up momentum. Overall this was a decent popcorn thriller but I would have liked it more if there was more depth to it.

The French Honeymoon is the story of a honeymoon gone horribly wrong.

Taylor Quinn has arrived at her honeymoon suite in Paris alone with stolen cash. She catches a glimpse of newlyweds Cassie and Olivier. Cassie inadvertently reveals every detail of their trip on social media, making.it very easy for someone to track their moves. Taylor's obsession builds. This should have been her honeymoon.

But maybe everything is not as it seems between Cassie and Olivier, as it would first appear. They have their own agendas. The honeymoon in Paris turns to something dangerous.

Paris is a great setting for the story. It adds a level of intrigue. Unfortunately for me the characters didn't live up to it. It's normal to have unlikeable characters in a thriller like this but it also makes it harder to care about what's going on. Add to that a slow pace and an overall sense of vagueness which made it harder to become invested in the outcome.

This a thriller for readers who like characters behaving badly and a twisted story. There is an ambiguous ending which I'm not a fan of but it seems appropriate for The French Honeymoon.

I recently finished *The French Honeymoon* by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau, and it was a captivating read. The story follows Taylor Quinn, who arrives in Paris for her honeymoon—alone, with stolen cash, and a suitcase full of secrets. She becomes intrigued by a seemingly perfect couple, Cassie and Olivier, whose social media posts paint an idyllic picture of their honeymoon. However, as Taylor observes them, she uncovers cracks in their facade, leading her down a dangerous path.

The novel is told from multiple perspectives, including Taylor, Cassie, and Olivier, which adds depth to the narrative. The setting of Paris is beautifully depicted, almost becoming a character in its own right. The pacing is steady, allowing the tension to build gradually, and the twists kept me guessing until the end.

Overall, I found *The French Honeymoon* to be an engaging psychological thriller with a richly atmospheric setting. If you're a fan of character-driven suspense with unexpected twists, this book is worth checking out.

I really enjoyed this thriller-it was a short read and held my interest throughout the whole story. I was hooked from the start and very eager to hear the story. The book is fast paced and I enjoyed the writing from the author. I did like the characters but I didn’t love them, ya know? But it is a thriller and that isn’t the point. I needed a clear and concise answer at the end, there are two ways it could have went and it didn’t clearly state it. I wish I had the answer but I do also enjoy the mystery of that aspect.

The French Honeymoon is a captivating triple POV novel that follows Taylor, Cassie, and Olivier. Cassie and Olivier get married on a whim because Cassie wants to make her ex jealous, and Olivier wants a green card to stay in the US. They go on a honeymoon in Paris, and Taylor follows them. This is a tale of two sisters that are jealous of each other.

Crazy! This was a fine thriller. Sometimes thrillers focus more on the plot rather than the characters, but I thought this one had a good mix of both. We get background on the childhood that Cassie and Taylor spent together, and there's also flashbacks to before Olivier and Cassie got narried. This is a very fast paced novel, that I liked, and the writing is great. I thought that the big twist at the end was predictable, but the little twists sprinkled throughout the plot were well executed. Cassie is a character not meant to be likable. She is stubborn, selfish, and snobby.
While this is on purpose, I honestly still couldn't find myself to care about her too much. I liked Taylor's chapters a lot more than Cassie's.

I'd recommend this one. Thanks Sourcebooks and Netgalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 STARS
Movies usually portray Paris as a city of romance and adventure, but "The French Honeymoon" takes a thrilling twist that combines turmoil and tragedy! The book's pacing is just right, with some explosive surprises that kept me on my toes! I’m a big fan of dual timelines and narrators, and this book has both, which makes it even more enjoyable. It’s a quick read, perfect if you don't have a big time commitment!

The adventure begins with Taylor checking into a honeymoon suite, but there’s something cagey about her—she has a bag of stolen cash and no husband in sight! She’s mysterious, which lures you deeper into the story. The way her puzzle piece fits into the bigger picture left me blindsided! I did not see that coming! She ended up being my favorite character. She had some evil plans, but I couldn't hold those against her!

Then we meet Olivier, a Frenchman in the U.S. on a work visa about to run out. His only chance to stay is to marry a U.S. citizen. He gets Cassie on board with his plan. Big mistake! Cassie isn't the best choice for this tricky situation, as Olivier learns very quickly when Cassie books a honeymoon in Paris, the last place Olivier wants to go. Olivier isn't the most likable character, but I couldn't find one redeeming quality in Cassie. I couldn't even admire any of her bad qualities! Cassie only cares about herself and making everyone envious of her life.

I was so excited to see how this ended! Why do authors do this to us?! Some readers enjoy ambiguous endings, but they make me want to pull my hair out. I enjoyed the setting, the morally complex characters, and the drama, but the vague ending lowered my rating.

Her life may appear perfect on social media but Cassie’s marriage is far from magical. On their honeymoon in Paris, Cassie and Olivier catch the attention of Taylor Quinn, who is also in town for a romantic getaway. The difference between the two? Taylor arrives with no money or clothing.. or partner. Tensions rise as Taylor’s obsession with the picture-perfect couple grows — will everyone will make it out of the City of Love alive?

This French Honeymoon is a truly unique and gripping story. The cast of characters are all morally gray so, while I didn’t particularly like any of them, I also couldn’t look away from their twisted actions. Taylor, Cassie, and Olivier are all teetering on the edge, and the tension keeps you guessing about who’s going to snap first.

The plot twists are also done well; I had my jaw on the floor in public as I was reading on the bus. The social media angle feels a bit over the top sometimes, but that’s clearly intentional and, overall, it works. The French Honeymoon is a tense, twisty read that hooks you from the start and doesn’t let go.

What a heck of a story. This is about forbidden love and forced family. There are so many secrets and lots of intriguing aspects. It pulled me in right away and left me stunned at the end. I definitely recommend it.

The French Honeymoon is a fun twisty tale. It kept me engaged until the very end. This book is told from the POVs of Taylor, Cassie, Oliver & Thérèse switching between past & present.

This is my first book by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau and I can’t wait to check out her other novels. I think The French Honeymoon would be a great movie or limited tv series. Crossing my fingers that happens.

Horrible people doing horrible things has never been so captivating! I couldn’t wait to see most of these characters get their just desserts but there was so much fun in the process to get there as clues were revealed and false trails followed. A fun read!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5’s

What starts as a romantic honeymoon in the City of Love quickly spirals into a dark, twisty psychological thriller in The Paris Honeymoon—and I was hooked from the first page.

This story is not your typical love story. It’s a tale of love gone wrong, where glamour masks greed, betrayal lurks behind every smile, and no one—not even the narrator—can be fully trusted. With multiple POVs and an unreliable narrator, you’re constantly questioning what’s real and who’s telling the truth. Even when I thought I had parts of it figured out, there were still twists that took me completely by surprise. The suspense never let up.

The characters aren’t necessarily likable—but that’s part of the thrill. They’re messy, flawed, and sometimes downright suspicious, yet I couldn’t look away. Add in elements of stalking, obsession, and secrets unraveling against the lush Parisian backdrop, and you’ve got a fast-paced, cinematic read that’s both unsettling and addictive.

Perfect for fans of dark domestic thrillers with a jet-setting twist. This was one wild ride I won’t forget anytime soon.

DNF @ 35%.

Despite an intriguing sounding description, this book was way too slow, the characters are awful, and couldn’t keep my attention.
