A Paris Honeymoon with a couple that overshares via online social media. Of course they do. That's how they catch the attention of one obsessed follower vicariously living her dreams through the Honeymooners, Cassie and Oliver. But wait, is there an unreliable narrator in the mix? That's the best part of the plot. Taylor, the cyber-stalker, turned IRL stalker might just be a bit unhinged. You'll have to read the book to see who is really unhinged in this slow burn mystery/suspense.
I was missing something that would give me the thriller vibe in all the nastiness of Cassie. Ultimately, I had to settle for suspense without the fireworks.

WOW! This book was insane! I really liked this twisty ass story, BUT how dare you insult Britney’s fragrance. lol but for real Britney is my GIRL! Anyway, this book had me like wtf is even happening right now so many times!!! But, it was SO binge worthy! Also the ending 😮😮😮😮😮😮 damn. Also loved the destination Paris background that was fun made me want to travel overseas! Such a fun twisted story!!!!

I absolutely love books set in Paris, especially when
they feature stunning locations, irresistible intrigue,
and characters who keep you on edge. This
psychological thriller is filled with twisted, self-serving
characters, making for a dark, tension-filled ride
through the City of Love.
From the moment Taylor Quinn arrives in Paris—alone,
broke, and fresh off a ruined relationship—the story
had me hooked. Her obsession with the seemingly
perfect couple, Cassie and Olivier, adds an intriguing
layer of voyeurism to the story. Cassie’s social media
presence makes it easy for Taylor to track their every
move, and as she falls deeper into their lives, it’s clear
that no one in this book can be trusted. The reveals
along the way, while somewhat predictable, still
managed to surprise me, and the tangled web of
deceit kept me thoroughly engaged.
While the first half of the book does a great job of
building suspense, I do wish the tension had been
heightened more in the middle. The final chapters felt a
bit rushed, and I would have loved a bit more buildup
to the climax. That said, that ending.. It had me
second-guessing everything. Open-ended yet
impactful, it left just enough room for interpretation,
which I actually appreciated.
One of the things I enjoyed most about The French
Honeymoon was how character-driven it was. The
book focuses solely on three main players: Taylor,
Cassie, and Olivier. Each of them has their own selfish
motives, and none are particularly likable.
The novel explores themes of obsession, jealousy,
deception, and the façades people create—both in
relationships and online. The contrast between the
dreamlike setting of Paris and the dark reality of these
characters’ lives made the story even more gripping.
The French Honeymoon is highly entertaining,
binge-worthy read.

I requested this book after seeing the description comparing it to The Paris Apartment (a book I love), which gave me high expectations that were not met while reading this lackluster thriller. The first thing that comes to mind when I think of the story is how basic and dull the language is. It could be a good choice for someone whose native language isn't English so they can read an accessible thriller, but for me, I suffered through it.
The characters (all unlikable) were one-dimensional. Olivier (desperate), Cassie (evil), and Taylor (pathetic) and they never changed throughout the book for me. The positives of this book are the descriptions of Paris--even if it's only touristic places mentioned. I also didn't see the big reveals coming, so I guess there's that. An easily digestible book and forgettable read.

The French Honeymoon definitely grabbed my interest, with the tagline, “Sometimes, Paris is a terrible idea”. Taylor Quinn finds herself on a non-honeymoon in Paris, and is following newlyweds, Cassie and Olivier. Taylor has been obsessing over Cassie’s picture perfect Instagram posts, but when she hears an argument between the couple she realizes things aren’t what they seem. All three of the characters have their own selfish agendas, and there are twists to be revealed, that will change all of their lives.
I really enjoyed The French Honeymoon’s psychological thriller storyline. The setting of Paris was a great backdrop for the story, and I loved the juxtaposition of the awful motives of the characters in a city that’s supposed to be all about love.
The story is told through the three main characters POVs, and I enjoyed the fact that the book just focuses on these three characters. They are all unlikable characters, but it works well for this type of psychological thriller. I did find myself sympathizing the most with Taylor’s character, because of her backstory and Cassie was my least favorite.
There are some good twists to the story, which aren’t too difficult to figure out, but I still enjoyed how they were revealed and how the characters agendas all came together. The book does have an open ending, which I actually thought worked well for this story. I have my own hope of how things ended, but I liked that Jouhanneau left it up to interpretation.
If you are looking for a quick thriller with questionable characters and a great international setting, then I would definitely recommend reading The French Honeymoon.

This book was just okay for me. I had a hard time following the story. Maybe it was just me. I kept wanting to hurry up and finish the book.

Sometimes Paris is a terrible idea. However, a plot based in Paris is never a terrible idea. I felt like I was whisked away to the crepe filled streets of Paris with a view of the Eiffel tower. While a bit of a slow burn, I was at the edge of my seat. I figured out the plot twist a little earlier than I would have liked, but it was still enjoyable. The ending is ambiguous and while the author likes this type of ending, it's not my favorite. Overall, I still really enjoyed this story.

The French Honeymoon by Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau is a mystery/thriller that follows Cassie, Olivier, and Taylor. Cassie and Olivier are on their French honeymoon and Taylor seems to be keeping an eye on them. As the mystery unfolds, it becomes apparent that there is a lot going on with these characters.
This was an enjoyable mystery/thriller. I think the writing was well done and it kept my attention. It was easy to fly through this book. The way it jumps around between characters helps keep it interesting. It was just a very overall predictable story for me.
It seems from a lot of other reviews that most people a really enjoying this and I can see why! It just felt like a story I have read before so that took some of the enjoyment out of it. I do think a lot of readers will enjoy this one so I will recommend it!

The title and cover really grabbed my attention. I loved that this takes place in Paris. The descriptions of the food and buildings were well written and really had me craving macarons and strolling down the streets of Paris. I really enjoyed the beginning of the book and was really interested til about the mid way point. I was having a hard time connecting with the characters. Overall, I did enjoy reading this thriller and would recommend it. The ending still has me confused and thinking. I did like the twist at the end.

A big thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me early access to this book! The characters plot and the story were great. I really enjoyed the scenery of this book. The author really knew how to set the scene. I can’t wait to buy the physical book once it’s on the shelves.

You know those books that grab you from the first sentence and don’t let you go until you’ve turned the last page? This was it for me. I kept wondering why I cared so much what happened to these characters, because they’re so amoral and unprincipled and simply disgusting. They cheat, steal and possibly even murder. I could only root for Taylor. She is not perfect but at least was not as despicable as the other two POV narrators, Cassie and Olivier. These two got married for the wrong reasons, and are in Paris for their honeymoon. They seem too good to be true and you soon learn that they are. I had no idea who Taylor was or how she would fit in with the other protagonists, but she is also in Paris, has a lot of cash and seems to have no plan. I liked the twists, including a big reveal in the middle that I didn’t see coming. I reread a few of the earlier chapters after learning the twist and everything made sense under the new information. I may be the outlier five-star review here but I really enjoyed this read.
I chose to read this book and all opinions in this review are my own and completely unbiased. Thank you, NetGalley/Sourcebooks Landmark.

A thriller based in Paris?! Yes please, I mean-oui!
The French Honeymoon was fun because the story and ending aren’t cookie-cutter.
All of the characters are terrible people but some are more insufferable than others. I tend to love books about terrible people but if you need to have likeable characters, this book isn’t for you. I thought Cassie was so funny, she’s a basic b and her inter dialogue is hilarious.
Thanks for the ARC, this one was fun

A psychological thriller set in Paris. The characters were unlikeable and unbelievable and the pacing unsteady and at times slow. I liked the setting but not the narrative.

Sign Me Up for this French Honeymoon—if I survive the twists!
Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau delivers an excellent thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very last page. Packed with jaw-dropping twists and turns that had me GASPING, this novel is an exhilarating dive into the psychological thriller genre. Jouhanneau masterfully captures the voices of three distinct characters, breathing dynamic life into each of them while weaving a tangled web of backstabbing secrets, illicit affairs, and hidden agendas that will keep readers utterly enthralled.
At times, I found myself momentarily disoriented by the shifting timeline, but ultimately, this narrative choice adds to the suspense, seamlessly blending the characters' perspectives and propelling the story forward at a breakneck pace. Every time I thought I had the plot figured out, a shocking revelation sent the story spiraling in an entirely unexpected direction. And that ending—wow. It’s bound to generate discussion, with some readers loving it and others left reeling. For me, it made perfect sense given the story’s trajectory, and it’s one I know I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
If you’re in the mood for a fast-paced, addictive psychological thriller, this is the book to pick up. I’ll be keeping an eye out for more thrillers from Anne-Sophie Jouhanneau—she’s a talent to watch!

Unfortunately, The French Honeymoon did not live up to my expectations. While the premise of a honeymoon set in France promised romance, adventure, and intrigue, the execution left much to be desired.
One of the biggest challenges for me was the lack of character development. The protagonists felt incredibly one-dimensional, making it difficult to connect with them or care about their journey. The lack of depth in their personalities made their motivations unclear, and their actions often felt disconnected from the emotions I expected them to be experiencing. As a result, their romance, which should have been the heart of the story, fell flat and felt almost mechanical at times.
The pacing was another issue. The story was surprisingly slow, and I found myself struggling to stay engaged. What should have been an exciting and passionate journey through the French countryside turned into a tedious experience. There were stretches of the book where it felt like nothing significant was happening, and I kept waiting for something to spark, but it never quite did.
Overall, The French Honeymoon just didn’t hit the mark for me. While I’m sure some readers may enjoy the quiet atmosphere it attempts to create, the lack of compelling characters and slow pacing made it hard to stay invested in the story. It’s disappointing, as I really wanted to enjoy this romantic escape, but unfortunately, the book didn’t provide the emotional depth or excitement I was hoping for.

Cassie and Olivier are madly in love, or at least that's what Social Media says. They book the most romantic honeymoon in Paris, staying in a swanky hotel, eating at the fanciest most Instagram worthy restaurants and going on shopping sprees galore. But is it really paradise for them in the City of Love? When solo traveler, Taylor Quinn, overhears them arguing in an alley one night, she can't imagine a being unhappy when your honeymoon looks so perfect. After all, she was jilted and is on her honeymoon alone...at least that's what she told the checkin clerk at her hotel.
Fascinated by Cassie and Olivier's argument, Taylor follows them on Instagram, knowing what they're up to in real time. But the more she watches them, the more questionable things seem. If only she had married Olivier instead of Cassie...but then she would have to have met him...
A thrilling story, told as the present day and the past take place and collide in a twisty way!

The thought of a honeymoon in Paris seems pretty delightful. But clearly, it’s not for everyone.
Olivier, working in NYC, desperately needs a green card to stay. He meets Cassie and puts on the charm. She is thinking over his marriage proposal. What could possibly go wrong?
The characters aren’t filled with respect, kindness and adoration – not like the love you can feel from Rose and Jack in the Titantic. They all have motives and it’s not hard to guess what will take place.
The author is from France so naturally there’s a blend of beautiful scenery, clothes, hair and food. Paris is the perfect place of love. It made me want to get on a plane if only I had a wad of cash.
I was disappointed with the end. It felt like there were too many details missing. It felt rushed.
It’s a quick read with just a few characters to keep your eyes on. It may be a popular beach read. There were discussion questions at the end which would make it convenient for book clubs.

Cassie and Olivier are on their honeymoon in Paris and Cassie is constantly posting their blissful time on Instagram. Another woman, Taylor, always dreamt of visiting Paris on her honeymoon, but she hasn't gotten married, so she travels to Paris on a whim anyway. While there, she comes across Cassie and Olivier. She wonders if they are actually as happy as they claim.
Overall I liked this book and I read it quickly. I liked the way the reveals happened. The timing of those kept me interested when I may have otherwise gotten bored. I really didn't know where this was going and I liked how it played out. There was a bit of an ambiguous ending, which I don't love, but I still enjoyed the book.

✨Paris is the city of love, or so it seems. Taylor, who arrives in her Paris honeymoon suite without a lover or suitcase, but rife with wads of stolen cash, reminisces of the honeymoon she was supposed to have here.
✨When Taylor spots a newlywed couple, Olivier and Cassie, flaunting themselves in the streets of Paris and documenting it all on social media, it’s easy to become obsessed with what would have once been.
✨For newlywed couple Olivier and Cassie, everything appears to be newly wedded bliss, but no one knows the half of it. As Taylor overhears a heated argument of theirs, she is caught in the crosshairs, and no one leaves Paris unscathed.
✨ The premise of the story is enticing and I enjoyed the backdrop of Paris. I felt like there were parts that could’ve been buttoned up and tweaked to be a little bit more believable.

I was so excited for this book—the cover immediately drew me in, and I thought it would have a similar feel to The Paris Apartment. I was expecting an atmospheric, twisty mystery, but this ended up being more of a slow-burn version of that.
The premise had a lot of potential, but the execution fell flat. Not much really happened, and the plot felt aimless at times. I could see where things were heading pretty early on, which took away some of the suspense. I kept waiting for a big twist or shocking reveal, but when it finally came, it didn’t feel all that surprising. Something just felt missing.
That being said, the book was a quick read, and I kept turning the pages hoping for something more. What I did enjoy was the dynamic between the stepsisters—their tension and back-and-forth made for some entertaining moments. I was curious about each character’s true motives, but overall, the story wasn’t as gripping as I’d hoped.
This leaned more towards a slow-burn mystery, while I was in the mood for a fast-paced, twisty thriller. However, the setting was vividly described and almost felt like a character itself, which added to the atmosphere.
