Mari Mancusi's The Camelot Code is an absolute triumph of time-travel adventure, blending historical legend with cutting-edge tech in a way that is both incredibly clever and endlessly entertaining. As a reader who adores imaginative retellings, fast-paced plots, and a good dose of humor, I was immediately swept away by this book, and it earned every one of its five stars.
The book's greatest strengths lie in its brilliant concept and its flawless execution. Mancusi takes the familiar legends of King Arthur and infuses them with a fresh, modern twist through the lens of a time-traveling, coding-savvy protagonist. The premise is incredibly engaging, and the author does an exceptional job of balancing historical details with futuristic elements, creating a world that feels both authentic and wildly imaginative. The pacing is relentless, with constant action, witty dialogue, and genuinely surprising twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. The characters are incredibly charming, relatable, and their interactions are a highlight, full of humor and heart. The blend of adventure, mystery, and a dash of burgeoning romance is perfectly balanced.
What truly elevates The Camelot Code is its sheer fun factor. It's clear that Mancusi had a blast writing this, and that joy is infectious. The historical figures are given vibrant personalities, and the challenges faced by the protagonists are both clever and exciting. The narrative is smart without being overly complicated, making it a joy to read from beginning to end.
Overall, The Camelot Code is an exhilarating and utterly delightful read that will appeal to fans of time travel, adventure, and anyone who loves a fresh take on classic tales. It's a masterclass in blending genres and delivering pure entertainment. I can't recommend it highly enough and am eagerly awaiting more adventures from this brilliant author!

I read this book years ago when the ARC was provided but wasn’t an avid NetGalley user then and never reviewed this. I appreciate NetGalley having provided me with an ARC! This is not your typical King Arthur story, which is what I had remembered going into it reading. The cover is now different too but I preferred the old cover. Though I did like some of the characters and loved Sophie’s and Stu’s friendship.
