Desired is the third book in Stacey Kennedy’s Club Sin series. I’ve had this book on my TBR since it was released back in 2014. I’ve been meaning to catch up on the series, and finally, I’ve made time for it since I’m back in my BDSM Romance Era.

First, this story does have some content that may bother some readers. (Potential Spoiler Warning) Ella was in an abusive relationship before meeting Kyler, and I wanted to make it known for some readers who find this triggering because there is a descriptive scene of what happened to her. With that being said, there is no cheating involved in this book, even if technically, Ella is still married to her a-hole of soon-be ex-husband, who needs to sign the divorce papers already because there is no way she’s taking him back after she got a restraining order and left him to go to Las Vegas to start a new life for herself. I’m friggin’ proud of Ella for taking the step to protect herself, even though she should have revealed the truth to Kyler when he asked if something was going on with her because he already suspected something was wrong. When Kyler isn’t on the scene at Club Sin as a Dom, he’s a police officer, and he sees the signs from Ella that she has been abused.

Kyler may have well become my favorite Club Sin Master, especially with how protective and caring he was toward Ella’s needs as not only his submissive but outside the club, even though Ella didn’t need his protection. I knew I would like his character back when he was first introduced in the series, but this book makes my love for him even stronger.

If there is one thing that Stacey Kennedy goes into detail about in this book, it is how the Dom/Sub relationship works and what is expected from both Dom/Sub. It’s not just about the spice (even though that is a plus to the book because it does heat up between the MCs. Stacey brings the spice love to ultra hot between Kyler and Ella, and I was here for it.), but the dynamics of the relationship are what I focused on when reading Desired.

Ella was new to the world, but Kyler opened her up to the possibilities of it, and she was willing to learn from him, even though she didn’t mean to find a relationship after her last one. She was meant to find Kyler, and I loved that she found happiness again, especially with him.

One particular scene that will forever be rent-free in my head is when Ella decides to defy Kyler, and it involves the other submissives in the club. Ella was a badass for this, and I loved how the other subs (including their Doms) got involved to have this happen for her. This particular scene changed Kyler’s thoughts on how to handle his sub and take in her feelings more. It did cause Ella to have a punishment later, but one that she would enjoy.

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series now that I realize I never finished reading it. Bad on me. Stacey Kennedy has always been one of my favorite BDSM romance authors because she not only brings the heat level up a notch in each book but also writes some unforgettable characters with emotional storylines.

Would I recommend this book/series?

Standalone or Part of Series: It’s part of the Club Sin series and it’s an Interconnected Standalone Series, where you could read out of order. If you are like me and prefer to read in order, I recommend starting with Claimed (Book One).
