This is the second book in the Wildfire series, and it is just as good as the first! I loved reading Maren and Ozzy’s story and seeing if things work out. I feel the author covers the topic of trauma very well in both books. By writing the true ugliness of trauma but the beauty that can be found as well. I’d say this was a instacrush but also a kind of slow burn romance due to obstacles they have to face. I laughed so much at the description of ‘tarantula eyelashes’ used in the book. I’m hoping that the author will do a book for Will. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

Ozzy is raising his daughter as a single dad; her mother, his wife, was killed in a car accident. Two years have gone by, and he and his daughter are riding their bikes everywhere because she has fears of getting into a car. Now working as a mechanic for an airplane service that handles planes for air drops for fires, he meets a pilot named Maren as she has come in to update some paperwork. Their meeting is unique, and their getting together is slow. This story deals with many different issues of loss, and also as a single parent trying to do the best you can. Lola Ozzy's ten-year-old daughter really makes the story and adds humor when needed, and also the guidance on looking out for the child as well. A really good book with excellent characters.

I actually did not finish this book, unfortunately! I had a really hard time with the insta love kind of feeling and then also the in laws totally threw me off

Wow! What another emotional and inspiring story from Jewel E. Ann! Adding in the fact that Ozzy is a single dad and everything him and Lola went through made the book so much more satisfying to listen to!
The narrators of the story did an amazing job capturing every emotion and I felt like I was totally emerged in the story. I could see Ozzy's frustration with his in-laws and Maren trying to make light of situations that were hard for her with how the characters were brought to life.
I hope we have another in this series! I can't wait for more

Review: From Nowhere is book 2 in Jewel's Wildfire series and can be read as a standalone. Although, I absolutely LOVED From Air (book 1) and highly recommend it! We met Maren in From Air as Fitz's roommate and Jamie's best friend. She was so funny and protective that I immediately knew I needed her book. Jewel has such an incredible gift that you can't put her books down. You just need to know!

Maren is an air tanker pilot in Missoula Montana. Ozzy is an aircraft mechanic at Cielo where they both work, and a widow with the sweetest 10 year old girl, Lola. Oh my gosh, the meet-cute between these two put THE BIGGEST smile on my face! I was cracking up, and I was immediately hooked and needing more of them. I loved the journey these two went on, and the banter was top tier just like Jewel always delivers. I loved Ozzy and the little things he would do for Maren. Their sneaking around was kinda fun and brought back memories. I did want to smack Ozzy upside the head a few times, but it was part of his journey. Maren's patience and love for Lola brought tears to my eyes, and my heart swelled. The relationship between Ozzy and Lola stole my heart. He is such a good dad, and knowing what is best for Lola to heal from the trauma she endured. I felt for him and his struggles. Lola may have stolen the show in quite a few scenes, but she is so worth it. I loved the healing journey that they three of them went on. Maren truly was exactly what Ozzy and Lola needed. Jewel always delivers such unique stories filled with every emotion, and this book was no different. I loved the bits we got of Fitz, Jamie, and Will. I am secretly hoping for Will and a certain someone for book 3.🤞
I listened to the audiobook by Benjamin Sands and Amy McFadden. Both are new narrators to me, but I thought they both did a great job bringing these characters to life. I highly recommend this series!

Ozzy and his daughter Lola. Man, what a duo. First of all, the fact this man changes this man made for his daughters mental health and well being were unmatched.
In comes Maren who fit so well into their bubble and accepted them as they were. She was extremely patient and kind and even when she needed him most she extended so much grace.
Had I been in her shoes, I don’t know what I would’ve handled things the same way!
As usual with Jewels writing, there were soggy eyes but I loved it!

So heartwarming and inspirational! I loved Maren, Ozzy, and Lola. My heart broke for the tragedy that Ozzy and Lola had to go through, and how they were slowly trying to move forward with their lives. Lola was slower at moving on than Ozzy, but Ozzy was a great dad to her and would do anything for her. I loved how Ozzy and Maren met. When she learned his story, her heart went out to him and his daughter. She fell in love with his daughter first, wanting to support Lola, but also trying to convince her that she was brave and would be ok. Ozzy and Maren seemed perfect for each other, but it would be a long road for them with some bumps along the way. What's meant to be will always find a way. I am really loving this series and can't wait for Will's book.

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Amazing characters and wonderful plot. Very beautifully written and easy to read.
I read this book in one sitting and I loved every second of it. The chemistry and passion between Maren and Ozzy was undeniable and sizzling. They were made for each other.
Overall I loved this book very much. If you’re looking for a single dad, he falls first, small town, secret romance then you’re going to love it.

There is so much love within the pages of this book. Maren and Ozzy are perfect for each other, I loved seeing their relationship blossom and grow. Whilst the reasoning for them ‘sneaking around like teenagers’ wasn’t great I thought it was quite sweet and added to the excitement and fun of their relationship.
Lola (Ozzy’s daughter) was the absolute star of this book, as she should be. I loved her, she was witty, fun and added humour book. I loved that she was such a main character and wasn’t shoved to the side which is often done in romance books. Jewell E. Ann dealt with quite a few complex topics and emotions throughout this book, it was wonderfully written. Seeing all the characters navigate their way through grief in such different ways, it’s definitely a thought provoking book and one that tugs on your heart strings.
I haven’t read the other books in this series but after enjoying this book I’ll be going back to read them, I loved Fitz and Jamie as characters in this book so I’m excited to go back and read their story.
Thankyou to netgalley and valentine pr for the gifted e copy of this book :)

5 stars!
“It’s never the things I see coming that take my breath away. It’s the moments that come from nowhere.”
From Nowhere is the second book in the Wildfire series and another 5 star read that went straight on my favorites shelf. This author has flawlessly written a love story that consumed me and made me feel all the emotions. Maren and Ozzy’s romance is one that will stay with me and this story with all its layers deserves all the stars.
Ozzy wasn’t looking for love after tragedy struck his life in more ways than one. He lost almost everything in an instant and now he will do anything for his daughter Lola. His life is not easy and he faces a lot of challenges when it comes to taking care of Lola. They experienced such devastation that had lasting effects but he always puts her first. It makes it hard to open his heart to anyone else because his life isn't exactly normal.
And then Maren walks into his life. She’s different. She’s strong, understanding, and patient. There’s a spark between them but there are challenges that make it difficult to find time to even explore what can be. They do find moments but not wanting to bring any more pain to Lola, they hide their relationship. Then real feelings sneak up on them and they have to face how they feel if they ever want to be more.
Ozzy and Maren are wonderful, well-developed characters. I wanted more of Maren when I met her in From Air because I was intrigued by her job as an air tanker pilot. She is so brave and lives her life to the fullest, taking risks and giving her all to the things she loves. She brings humor and heart to the story and I loved loved loved how patient she is with Ozzy and Lola.
Ozzy is a dream. He loves with his whole heart and knows how to make a girl feel special. I loved every moment between Ozzy and Maren. They made me laugh, cry, and swoon. I was frustrated at times and because their relationship is complex, they make us experience all the ups and downs; however, everything is worth it to get their HEA.
“There’s nothing more epic than falling in love with someone who loved my daughter first.”
I also loved Lola and her relationships with Ozzy and Maren. My heart broke for her and what she went through, and though I wanted to speed up her recovery, her growth comes at a time in the story that changes everything.
Seeing Fitz, Jamie, and Will again was fantastic and I desperately want more of this group! I hope Will gets his HEA!

This book was just beautiful and one I really enjoyed. I will for sure will be sharing this with others and hope people read this because the story was so well told and written. It flowed perfectly and I didn’t want to put it down.

This book is all about healing and being strong enough to let go. Ozzy and Lola's(his daughter not main character) is heartbreaking. Both are still hurting from the death of his wife/mother and despite Lola doing therapy, no one is really moving on. It doesn't help that his mother in law put 100% blame on his for her daughter's death. He's dealing with a lot and making his daughter his #1 priority, as he should. There's no time for dating and he really hasn't even thought about it until a strangle encounter in a bathroom changes his mind. Ozzy is a gem. He's a good father, who will do anything for his daughter, including riding a bike in all kinds of weather cause his daughter still has trauma from the accident. When it comes to Maren, he will sneak her notes, flowers from his neighbor's yard and sneak moments when he can. He is the SWEETEST!! I absolutely adored him and his daughter!!
Maren has had some heartbreak as well but she has had enough time to heal and move on with her life. She is AMAZING!! I'd like to call her something else but Amazon won't let me lol. She is a tanker pilot that flies in some dangerous places. She really wasn't looking to fall in love with the sweetest mechanic and his daughter but it happened. She is so patient with Ozzy, even if she doubts their relationship and his love for her at times. She gives him time and doesn't push him into anything he isn't ready for. When it comes to his daughter, she will adopt a cat despite her roommate being allergic and spoil it rotten. She will also sneak into his room late at night and cuddle with him.
These two along with Lola are seriously the sweetest together. With dealing with their relationship and how to make it work, along with helping his daughter overcome her trauma and just having time together. They make it work.
Now I want to really bad mouth Ozzy's mother in law cause she is a lot and not afraid to speak her mind throughout this entire book! She has some strong opinions about how he should be living and with Lola. She does redeem herself but it takes a long time for her to see the truth. I get her anger and aggression towards Ozzy cause being a mother myself, I know it would kill me to lose my daughter. She has valid reasons for acting like she does.
This book will pull at the heartstrings especially at the end. I was in tears with the last 15% or so of this book. From Maren to Lola, it pulled me in and with all the tears rolling down my face, I was able to celebrate with them at the end!
This was a remarkably beautiful story of healing and moving on after a tragedy to have a beautiful life together. Despite the tears, it was all part of the journey that these characters had to have to find their happy ending.

My Review:
This is the third book I’ve read by this author, and so far I haven’t been disappointed yet. She does an amazing job of building the story, developing the characters, and keeping you hooked. I’m loving this series so far. I listened to the first book on audio and fell in love with Jewel’s writing. I was looking forward to getting to Maren more and her story didn’t disappoint! The amount of times I laughed throughout this book was too many to count. I loved Maren and Ozzy together and seeing how well they worked together to be able to even be together. Ozzy is such a good dad and is just getting back into work after losing his wife to a tragic accident. Lola is Ozzy’s daughter and she is so funny! You can see how much he cares for Lola as she has a fear of cars so they ride their bikes everywhere. This storyline was so different from others and I absolutely loved it. I loved the direction it went and seeing how Maren helped Ozzy be strong and stick up for himself against his snarky MIL. Ozzy also helped Maren see that she can have a relationship even with the job she has. I’m looking forward to continuing the series!

This book was absolutely perfect. Ozzy was single dad perfection; a selfless man who put his daughter first in every way possible. Maren was the most bada$$, amazing FMC. Their meet cute was absolutely hilarious and I was instantly hooked on these two.
Jewel E Ann has a knack for angst and amazing characters that you can't help, but root for and this story did not disappoint. My heart broke for Ozzy and Lola and even though Tia made me more upset than anything I was heartbroken for her as well. I absolutely loved Maren and her fearlessness. She taught us a great lesson in authenticity, bravery and showing up for people even when things are less than ideal.
The connection between Ozzy and Maren was so strong and beautiful. The way she brought him happiness and he grounded her was so special. Maren and Lola's relationship and the way Maren guided her, loved her and helped her find strength so naturally mended my broken heart.
Of course in true JEA fashion there were definitely some twists along the way that had me on the edge of my seat and biting my nails, but in the end she brought us our HEA that we love so much.
If you love a golden retriever single dad with the most hilarious & out of pocket daughter, and a tough as nails FMC then this one is a must!!

From Nowhere is the second book in the Wildfire series and as per usual, Jewel E. Ann tugged on my heartstrings, making me cry for a solid day. I felt every single emotion in this book. I live for angsty books and she never fails to serve up something that tears my heart wide open and then slowly puts it back together again. Ozzy and Maren's love story will stick with me forever and I know this will be a book that I read over and over, especially when I am looking for something angsty.

100% recommend! I am obsessed with Ozzy and Lola’s relationship. They both went through great trauma and their love for each other as a single dad and daughter is incredible! Then you have Maren who enters the relationship. Maren is a badass pilot who fights fires. She’s a tough bird. Her love and passion for Lola is the sweetest. I loved watching Ozzy and Maren’s relationship develop, but I loved Lola and Maren’s relationship even more!
Ozzy was in a tough place living with his (ex) in-laws and I give his character so many props for being the upstanding human he is. He knows what it’s like to sacrifice.
There was so much sadness and happiness in this book, but the story is just overall an incredible one! 🫶🏻

I have such mixed feelings because there was so much I loved about this one, but also things that just felt off to me ??
This was a sloooow burn - the tension was eattting at first but I fear it lasted too long making the back & forth a bit annoying (for me anyway)
Maren was super badass - not only through her job, I mean a pilot who helps put out fires?! Sexy as hell!! But also, her free spirited nature & her ability to never give up. I loved the way she tried to instill those aspects into Lola through their talks; eventually helping her overcome her fears.
Unfortunately Ozzy, Oswald, Oz-man .. you did not do it for me. I wanted to shake him and tell him to DO BETTER towards the end of the book; I really was rooting for him until like 85% in & then gave up hope :/
Also I truly did not enjoy Tia & the need for the mc’s to sneak around/ hide their relationship due fear of how she would react for almost the ENTIRE book - they are GROWN adults like cmon now
Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for my advanced copy 🫶🏻

This novel delivers an intensely emotional experience, fostering deep connections with its characters. The protagonist, a strong and independent woman, immediately captivates, and the unexpected single-father dynamic adds a compelling layer to the narrative.
The author excels at evoking a wide range of feelings, from joy and laughter to sorrow and frustration. The story resonates with authenticity, portraying the complexities of grief and the gradual process of healing. It emphasizes the importance of allowing oneself time to navigate emotional journeys.
The romantic relationship is exceptionally well-crafted, characterized by witty banter and genuine affection. The male lead's charm is undeniable, and the portrayal of the female lead's vulnerability is both refreshing and powerful. The development of her bond with the single father's child is particularly moving, as it realistically depicts the challenges and rewards of forming a family under difficult circumstances.
The narrative doesn't shy away from depicting the harsh realities of life, including trauma and the struggles of moving forward. While the path to happiness is not easy, it is ultimately rewarding. The characters are memorable and leave a lasting impression, making this a highly recommended read.
