This book was fun, emotional and everything in between! She's a tanker pilot with a huge heart. He's a single dad who is completely devoted to his daughter. The loss of his wife has completely changed his world and made it kind of difficult for him to date anyone. But with a hilarious meet-cute, Maren and Ozzy share an instant connection.
What did I love about this book? Everything. The sneaking around. The smirks and smiles. The flowers. The teasing. The anticipation of seeing each other. They tried to make the most of each stolen moment but my gosh was it almost impossible at times for them to be alone! I'm smiling right now just thinking about it haha.
Sometimes everything seemed so natural and easy between Maren and Ozzy. But other times it was complicated. Very complicated. With so many layers to this story, it created angst, conflict yet at its core an achingly meant to be love story. I truly felt every moment of Maren and Ozzy falling in love with each other.
Single dad romance fans will eat this one up. Not just because of Ozzy, but because of Maren too. The relationship between Maren and Ozzy's daughter was so sweet and special. There were two scenes in particular that made me tear up.

Gah! Ozzy is just so sweet and awkward and caring—unsure about how to navigate being a widower, a single parent living with his in-laws, and a man who is excited to explore a relationship with Maren. And Maren is so strong but she also is nervous and giddy with Ozzy. It’s just another perfect installment of the series. It has all the heart, heat, witty banter, and just two imperfect people trying to figure out a way to make their spark burn and last forever.

This was my first book by Jewel E. Ann, and I absolutely loved it. If you're into small-town romance, single dads, and second chances, then this book is chef’s kiss—it has everything you need.
Since this is the second book in the Wildfire series, I did feel like I was missing a bit of background from the first book, but honestly, it didn’t take away from the experience. You can totally read this as a standalone without any issues.
The emotional depth of this book really stood out to me. It explores grief, love, and healing in such a raw and real way. Maren was incredible—patient, understanding, and giving Ozzy and Lola the time they needed to heal. Maybe too patient at times (realistically, I don’t know if anyone is that selfless), but I was rooting for her the whole time. There’s one particular moment (not going to spoil it!) where Ozzy really broke her heart, and I felt it.
Now, I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of kids in books because they often don’t talk or act their age, and that was the case with Lola too. She was a little too wise beyond her years, which took me out of the story sometimes. And don’t even get me started on Tia—Ozzy’s late wife’s mother. I get that she’s grieving, but some of the things she said to Ozzy? Way out of line. I really wished Ozzy had stood up for himself more instead of just taking it.
On a lighter note, I loved the romance. It had me giggling and kicking my feet during the sweet and swoony moments. And the cover? I could totally imagine those two as Maren and Ozzy—it fit the vibe of the book so well!
Despite a few minor annoyances, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and flew through it. Jewel E. Ann’s writing is beautiful, emotional, and addictive, and I’ll definitely be checking out more of her books.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for a digital copy in exchange for my honest review.

I LOVED these characters. They were a little quirky, but that's what makes them so special. There were awkward, laughable moments, emotional moments, sweet moments, and frustrating moments all tied into one amazing story.
Jewel E Ann's writing always has this way of making sucking me in and never wanting to book a book down, and this was one of those instances. Get ready for another emotional roller coaster and get your tissues ready.
I couldn't imagine how difficult it is to manage life after losing someone you loved and how to move forward with someone new and nagaivate that, especially with children. But also being the one who falls in love with the who lost.
Lola cracked me up! She is so smart for her age, and you could just tell she loves her dad so much.
Also Tia can eat a bag of nails 😝 I don't understand why she felt she had the right to control his life because he was married to her daughter but I wanted to smack her and HIM for not putting her in her place!

Where do I start with this one?! First, this is my first read from this author and it definitely won’t be my last. She has been on my radar for some time now and am kicking myself for not reading her sooner. This is a book I didn’t know I needed in my life! I was sucked in and I couldn’t put it down. I went in completely blind…I’m glad I did! I probably would’ve told myself that I wasn’t in the mood for a very emotional read so I would have gone in with a let’s just get it done mentality. I felt so much while reading this one. During parts your heart will break for these characters, but it will be mended! I was so thankful for the humor that was in this book as well! I had a few laugh out loud moments! I’m left feeling happy for the characters but sad for me because the book is over! I got super attached to them and wasn’t ready to say goodbye! I could go on and on! I will leave it at mark this one down as a must read!

I will not be giving feedback for this book. I did not enjoy the storyline. I've typically loved other books by this author which ke why I chose to arc read. However, I did not read book 1 to this series and don't know if that contributed to
My overall experience.

Y’all know by now my heart beats for Jewel E. Ann books- and this Wildfire series is truly some of her best! No one seems to puncture my heart and pummel it with such finesse as Jewel- but she always heals it in the most breathtaking way, like I’m breathing new air, new energy, feeling in a way I haven’ before. Emotionally immersive, effortlessly raw, and deeply uplifting, From Nowhere is truly a story of healing in life’s dichotomies. Jewel delivers a narrative that somehow pairs the most bonegriping angst with such pure joy and light, heartache with hope, loss with love. I reveled in every emotion-drenched moment, madly in love with not just this couple but their journey.
A man who has faced unthinkable tragedy, barely hanging on by a thread. His daughter broken by the loss of her mother- and the lingering trauma of the tragedy. And the vivacious and brave pilot that tests all his boundaries- but also makes his heart beat again…but her dangerous job, a fragile daughter, and disapproving in laws all put their connection at risk. And a secret romance is born- it’s all a recipe for delicious angst, of the epic JEA variety.
Like always, this story is RIFE with heavy emotions and heat-string wrestling (cause JEA does more than “pull” LOL)- but there’s also this great juxtaposition of lightness and fun. Ozzy and Maren have such great chemistry. Their dry humor, their banter, their sneaking around antics- it’s lively, it’s playful, it’s joyful and fun. And it’s the beautiful light and sunshine in the adversity - the tragedy, the heartbreak, the non-linear healing. Because that’s really what their love is about- taking a risk on love, just being IN the big ole messy journey and business of living. Embracing life’s transience and fragility as an opportunity to grab every moment instead of fearing it and watching everything you're scared to lose pass you by. It's beautiful and resonant and most of all optimistic. A poignant reminder that our dark moments don’t define us….if anything, what defines us is how we have the courage to keep living through them. Another JEM of a feel-it-all story from queen Jewel E Ann.

Many thanks to Valentine PR, NetGalley, and the author for this arc.
It has been an absolute joy reading the Wildfire series and they somehow keep getting better. Maren and Ozzy were so incredibly realistic and it both broke and healed me reading their story. This is so much more than a romance, it really is an exploration of grief and how it effects people differently. They have been through so much, yet continue to find love and beauty in life. Lola especially tugged on my heartstrings and it was beautiful to read her growth. This family will hold a special place in my heart for a long time coming.
The writing was just as perfect as the first book and I loved the Fitz and Jamie cameos. Maren and Ozzy were total softies and I just wanted to put them in a bubble to make sure nothing happened to them again. Did I know what the conflict would be? Yes. Did it still hurt just the same? Also yes. I can't recommend this series enough and I cannot wait to read Will's story.

From Nowhere is the second novel in Jewel E. Ann’s Wildfire series, full of humor and heartfelt moments! The story made me laugh, but it also tugged at my heartstrings, especially when it came to Lola, the daughter of the main character, Ozzy. This girl is adorable, and her relationship with her father is something special. I felt sorry for Ozzy; he had a difficult life until he met Maren.
"I love you, even if it scares me to death. The only thing that scares me more is trying not to love you."❤️🩹
I was thrilled to see familiar characters from the previous book, and of course, I'm looking forward to Will's story! Hope he'll end up with the doctor eventually🤞

Thank you to Montlake and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

This was quite possibly one of the most romantic books I’ve ever read. Jewel E Ann is a freaking incredible storyteller that has the ability to make me laugh out loud, cry happy tears and sad tears and put my heart back together again by the end. Ozzy is such a complicated and charming character…single widowed Dad with a 10yr old daughter who is struggling to navigate her Mom’s death and navigate the traumas she went through herself. Maren is a badass wildfire pilot and the way she loves Ozzy and Lola is so pure and beautiful. I just absolutely adored this story and highly highly recommend this author.

This story was beautiful and may be one of my favorites by JEA. She has again shown her talent for writing book that tug at your heartstrings and keep you invested until the last page.
This book is the perfect mix of angst, emotion, humor, and spice. The story touches on the complexities of grief, healing, and moving forward. I loved every minute of this story.
Ozzy is a widowed single dad trying to raise his daughter, Lola, after the tragic loss of his wife. Lola is still struggling with the emotional trauma and PTSD after losing her mother tragically. Ozzy will do anything to help her heal. He’s focused on his daughter and has no intention of getting involved in a relationship, until Marren, a tanker pilot, who unexpectedly enters their lives in a sweet meet cute in a bathroom. 😂
Marren is a strong, independent woman who is still healing from the loss of her brother. She never expected to fall for anyone, especially not for someone like Ozzy. Their chemistry is undeniable from the moment they meet, and the banter between them is fantastic. It is hilarious and endearing. The connection they share felt so authentic, and the way they gradually fell for each other while dealing with their emotional struggles is both heart-wrenching and uplifting.
This book was the perfect balance of light and funny moments while also having moments with heavy emotions. Their character development was so well written and realistic. It was not immediate and took time, but beautiful at the same time.
I really hope will gets to share his story next.

From Nowhere by Jewel E. Ann eARC Review
Releases March 4th!
This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. I absolutely adore Maren. I loved her in the first book in the series and I loved her in this book as well. She is such a confident, badass FMC who has the best energy and sense of humor.
Maren and Ozzy have the most hilarious meet cute ever. And watching their relationship unfold was definitely a whirlwind. Ozzy and his daughter, Lola have been through serious trauma and are still in the healing process. Maren is so patient and understanding with them and their emotions and Ozzy is so sweet to Maren but he just takes a little longer to get where she is.
This is truly a beautiful story about life after loss. A story about facing your fears and moving on with your life when it feels as if the past is holding you back.

4.5 ⭐️ 3🌶️
I am absolutely loving this series! There's always some sort of life in peril situation which I just love!! That's my favourite kind of drama 😍.
Maren is such a BAD ASS! She is strong, and smart and so in touch with her emotions. I loved her character so much! I also really like Ozzy! He had a really difficult situation to deal with, and I really think he did an amazing job navigating it. And then there's Lola. What a sweet little girl. She is also so strong and so amazing. She is where most of the trauma comes into play so if children with trauma is hard for you then I don't recommend! Just full disclosure.
Overall, I really loved this book and I cannot wait for Will's story!!
Thank you so much to NetGalley and Montlake for the advanced reader copy of this novel.

“The bigger the love, the greater the pain. And I don’t know if it’s worth it because it fucking hurts to love someone this much.”
From Nowhere tells the heart warming story of Maren and Ozzy and Lola. Maren and Ozzy meet during a meet cute encounter and sparks fly. Maren is a air tanker pilot with a risky job and Ozzy is a single dad and an aircraft mechanic. Maren and Ozzy fall hard, but their relationship isn't approved by all and so they are forced to hide their relationship.
What happens when tragedy strikes again? How does Lola handle the situtation and how does it affect Ozzy and Maren? Will Ozzy get a second chance at love? Life is unforgiving.
What a beautifully written story by Jewel E. Ann. Another great story about healing, heartbreak, and overcoming hardship for love. I really enjoyed this 2nd book in the Wildfire series. I highly recommend.
"There's nothing more epic than falling in love with someone who loved my daughter first."

There is something special about the connections that Jewel E Ann writes!

💐 The sweetest small gestures

Ozzy and Maren definitely have the most unique meeting, and Ozzy continues to catch Maren when she is a little messy. As it turns out, he has no problem with that; he just has to see if he has room for more on his plate. His daughter is struggling after the loss of her mom, and Ozzy’s in laws have moved in to help. However, that leaves little time for Maren, but she understands and wants the tiny moments (and flowers) they get together, especially as their relationship develops. Her job takes her everywhere, but Ozzy cannot leave the town: he made a promise to his daughter to only ride a bike. What happens if he needs and wants to leave? I just wish Ozzy had groveled more, but Maren was definitely understanding.

This book was everything. An amazing story from start to finish, I really enjoyed. 5 stars. I love this author.

Did I cry? Yep
Did I stay up way too late reading? Yep
So far I’m consistent with my Jewel E. Ann books, that have me not being able to put them down, and taking me on an emotional rollercoaster. And what a ride…!
Lovers of the single dad trope, I don’t know if you’re ready. Gah! Ozzy is…something, let me tell ya. The relationship and dynamics between him and Lola, I could not get enough. Lola was such a sweet and sassy little thing, I wanted to hug her and high-five her so many times.
I was 2% into the book, and I was cackling out loud. JEA’s writing just grabs your attention and doesn’t let go. Characters are written to be great on their own, and then add in the banter and chemistry, and it’s just perfection. Ozzy and Maren had it all, including a hilarious meet-cute.

Jewel E. Ann does it again! She has quickly become a must-read author for me and this book is no exception.
From Nowhere is a beautiful story, filled with great banter, heartbreaking tragedy and two people who are figuring out what love means to them.
Whether that is Ozzie, who’s figuring out what a second love could look like for him; a single dad with a daughter still dealing with the trauma of losing her mom. Or Maren, who loves adventure, her intense job and exploring the world, while she decides what being with someone like Ozzie would mean.
Also, as much as I loved Ozzie and Maren, I can’t leave out Ozzie’s daughter, Lola. The way she just wants her dad to be happy; the way she’s facing her loss; the bravery of a little girl who has been through so much. I just want to love on these characters!
This book had me laughing and crying and laughing again! 4.5/5 ⭐️s!

Ozzy lost his wife two years ago in a car accident, and is now a single dad. His daughter Lola is traumatized by the accident and won’t get in a car. So Ozzy and Lola rode bicycles everywhere. This alone made me love Ozzy. He is committed to his daughter’s healing journey and refuses to push her. Even when his MIL, who lives with him to help, insists.
He meets Maren at work, in an unconventional way. I loved the meet cute between Ozzy and Maren. They immediately hit it off with playful banter. I could feel their chemistry right away. Maren is a tanker pilot. She flies the planes and Ozzy is the mechanic, keeping them in top shape.
Maren and Lola form a wonderful relationship too, and Maren really wants to give it a shot with Ozzy. His life is complicated, and my heart broke for him a few times. He was in an impossible situation, and deserved happiness too.
I loved this book so much. It was a beautiful story of parenthood, grief, healing, love, and sacrifice. Another Jewel E. Ann book that I absolutely devoured. Again, I beg you to read a JEA book!
