Buckle up, y’all – because Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard is an intense fight for survival where it’s hard to tell the bad guys from the good guys (and vice versa) and you aren’t sure who’s going to make it out alive.

The suspense elements in this book kept me on the edge of my seat. If I wasn’t holding my breath, wondering how Remi and Hawk were going to get out of the latest bout of immediate danger they were facing, I was stunned by one of the layered plot twists. I’m usually much better at anticipating surprises in my mystery & suspense reads, but Goddard caught me off guard more than once in Storm Warning… and I loved it!! Remi’s blocked memories, the intriguing storm lodge (where some people go to watch coastal storms …. and some people go to hide), the puzzle pieces Remi keeps getting in the mail, Hawk’s complex ties to the danger chasing Remi, the harsh weather that starts them out at a disadvantage… all of it makes for a riveting read that you won’t want to put down until you know they’re finally safe. Not only that, but I’m already champing at the bit for book two after the preview tucked at the end of this story. And I’m grateful that I only have to wait until July instead of (perish the thought!) next year.

Remi and Hawk are both great characters with more to each of them than first meets the eye. One wants to forget. One wants to remember. Both will need Jesus more than ever to face what’s ahead. I loved exploring the nuances of their backstories as well as the different facets to their personalities, and I would want either of them – both of them – on my side in a heartbeat should I ever be running for my life… or just hanging out with friends for game night. The chemistry between them is palpable and their mutual mission to survive heightens this attraction quickly into deeper feelings in a way that makes absolute sense for the story. We are treated to some sweet scenes and some swoony kisses in the midst of the storms swirling around them (the weather kind and the ‘bad guys are after us’ kind), and Goddard had me rooting strongly for their blossoming love story to have a happily-ever-after.

Bottom Line: Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard sweeps readers off our feet and plunges us into a high-stakes race to help Remi regain her repressed memories before someone silences her for good. I wasn’t sure who I could trust, beyond Remi and Hawk, as allegiances get murky and people aren’t who they seem, and I devoured the story as quickly as possible. The multidimensional characters (including those in supporting roles) are vibrantly drawn and have me eager for the rest of the series, too. Goddard perfectly balances the romantic tension with the suspense, timing things just right to keep us fully engaged and invested in the outcome, and I loved how she naturally wove the faith threads into the fabric of the story too. This is a wonderful kickoff to a new series, and a really enjoyable read on its own!

Storm season in the Pacific Northwest is particularly harrowing this year, as it finds Remi Grant facing her demons and running for her life. A chance run in with a foreign physicist has made her the target of arms dealers and government operatives hungry to get their hands on the dead man’s technology. Hiding was an effective strategy until it was not. Now the winds, waves, and storms pummeling her beloved coast are just added complications as she struggles to stay alive. Hawk Beckett is also a complication; he seems to arrive at just the right time and is oddly attached to Remi, unless there is an ulterior motive. Struggling to regain her memory seems more urgent when she cannot tell who to trust. But Hawk knows a thing or two about trust; learning that his brother and his mentor are both involved in this situation with Remi in one way or another is enough to shake all he thinks he knows.

Elizabeth Goddard knows romance and suspense. Storm Warning is no exception. With characters so well developed they feel like family and settings so vivid you cannot help but feel like you are there, Goddard pulls you in and holds your attention securely through the entire story. Storm Warning is a gutsy, action packed wallop that is the first in a series I can’t wait to continue.

Thank you to the author and publisher for allowing me a copy to read and review. All opinions expressed here are my own and are completely genuine.

Having amnesia is causing Remi a lot of headaches and when she starts getting mysterious puzzle pieces, things start getting harrowing. Welcome Hawk into the picture. His appearance at times when Remi is in danger is giving her the heebie jeebies! Add to that getting kidnapped and Remi is running for her life while trying to protect people at the resort she is running. While Hawk is trying to help, other outside forces are determined to steer him offtrack. Come along for this exciting adventure and see if you can figure out who did what before someone really does lose their life!

I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves suspense and high adventure, God, and a great romance!

I received an ARC from the author; however, my review is done of my own volition and is my own opinion.

A fast paced survival suspense, with strong likable characters, filled with faith and resilience.

Remi Grant has been managing a storm watching lodge on the Washington Coast ever since she lost her memory. But when the storms pick up she finds that her past has come back to haunt her, but she doesn't remember what she forgot. Hawk Beckett comes to her aid, and pretty soon he's swept into the mystery too, trying to help Remi remember before it's too late.

An engaging suspense read, with a compelling plot, and a great mix of survival and intrigue suspense. Remi is making the best of her new life, and I liked how she held to her faith in uncertain times. She and Hawk make a great team, it was nice seeing them work together and problem solve.

Overall, a fantastic read from beginning to end, and great start to a new series. Loved the outdoors survival suspense, as well as the high stakes intrigue!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Hawk has come to the lodge to regroup and get an outlook of what is next.

They decide to work together when Remi is repeated attacked seemingly because of what she can’t remember. Who is behind the attacks? What has her mind hidden from her?

Loved this first book in the new series Hidden Bay. Remi Grant has left the past in the past and made a new life for herself. So when a ladder is sabotaged and she get's attacked when trying to remove a felled tree, she starts to wonder if she has been found. Hawk Beckett is looking for a place to stay for a bit and was recommended Cedar Trails, a place that is almost completely off the grid. People stick to themselves and can once again connect with nature a themselves. When Hawk keeps appearing to rescue Remi, she starts to wonder what he is really doing there? Why this place? Puzzle pieces, kidnapping and a masked person running around, Remi now fears her past has found her, but who is she to trust? Hawk seems bound to help her, but when he realizes who is after her or him, it just makes things that much more complicated. Is it Remi and her memory they are after, or does Hawk also have something in his past? As the action and running ramps up, Remi starts to get pieces of her past back. Is she remembering really what happened and what exactly are they after? Can she trust Hawk and his connections to protect her? This was a very high action read with a few twists. I enjoyed the scenery and would love to visit an off the grid place like Cedar Trails! Thank you to the publisher and author for the complementary novel and allowing me to be a part of the launch team. I am excited to see what characters are in book two! This review is of my own opinion and accord.

Storm Warning is the first book in Elizabeth Goddard's newest series, Hidden Bay.

"Now a stranger held her life in his hands."

Remi has been at Cedar Trails Lodge for several years. She first visited there after a traumatic experience (that she can't remember), and loved it so much she decided to relocate there. Cedar Trails Lodge is remote, with no wi-fi and very limited cell service. It is the perfect place to go and hide.

"The angry ocean had boiled below her, stirring the driftwood into a soupy, deadly mess."

Cedar Trails Lodge was suggested to Hawk by a former commander and mentor after experiencing a horrendous event. He has barely arrived when he rescues Remi from a near-death experience.

"He needed some perspective on his own dark secrets-the treacherous self-imposed mission to find a rogue agent and assassin before it was too late-but shoot if he wasn't inexplicably drawn to someone else's trouble."

Several storms are brewing in this story, and not all are related to the weather! I was immediately sucked into the story and I did not want to put the book down. The action was nonstop, with the storm building, it was hard for Remi to find a safe spot to land. The revelations were shocking, the danger was hard to ignore, and the ending was incredible. It was fascinating to see how everything came together. I can't wait to read Jo's story in the next book.

If you enjoy more suspense than romance, the amnesia trope (only one event, not her entire life), and a plotline that will keep you guessing, I highly recommend Storm Warning. This one gets all my stars.

Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this book. I was not required to provide a positive review. All thoughts and opinions are entirely my own.

Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard – Filled with Mystery, Intrigue, Suspense – May keep you up at night

Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard is the first book in her Hidden Bay series. This book is action packed from the get go, filled with mystery, intrigue, and suspense.

Remi Grant first came to Cedar Trails Lodge when she was searching for a safe haven where she could escape from those trying to find her. These days Remi works as the manager of the lodge. The lodge is fully booked with guests who are here to watch the storm of the decade come ashore with winds and waves battering the Pacific Northwest coastline.

If it was up to her, Remi would not be on the beach with the storm coming in. But she was trying to find a guest’s tiny yorkie. Time is running out and Remi is reminded she can go up a rope ladder. A few feet from the top Remi notices the rungs of the ladder are broken and the rope is shredded. As she considers her options, she hears a voice, “Grab my hands now before it’s too late.” The stranger, Hawk Beckett, caught her wrist as Remi is paralyzed in fear, and he pulls her to the top.

Former Night Stalker and military helicopter pilot Hawk Beckett was able to book the last cabin before the storm came in. A friend had told him that he might find the answers he was looking for at the Cedar Trails Lodge. Remi would like to remember what happened two years ago. Hawk would like to forget the painful memories of the past couple of years. Despite feeling leery of Hawk, it seems Remi will need to trust him to help protect her from whoever has finally tracked her down.

Hawk Beckett was my favorite characters. I like that he was ready, willing, and able to do whatever he had to do to protect Remi. With all his military and security training he was the right man for the job. With the resources that Hawk has available, he is not the average Joe. In that sense, realism is a bit of a stretch. Sometimes that is okay and why I am reading fiction. There was no shortage of potential bad guys, with suspects at every turn. I had inkling who the bad guy may be and it seems as though not everyone is who they first seem to be. Faith was a small part of the story and I would have liked to have had that play a bigger part in the character’s lives. Overall, I liked the book and enjoyed the mystery and suspense. It kept me up late on more than one night.

From page one, Storm Warning is action packed and filled with mystery, intrigue, and suspense. It is fast paced and may keep you up at night until you unravel the mysteries. If you like intrigue, mystery, and suspense you may want to read Elizabeth’s Goddard’s newest book Storm Warning.

I would like to thank Revell Publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to read a complimentary copy of Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard. I was under no obligation to give a favorable review.

Storm Warning by Elizabeth Goddard is an edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense that delivers everything I crave in a story—protective heroes, strong female leads, forced proximity, and a small-town setting, all wrapped in a thrilling, emotionally charged tale of love and survival.

Remi Grant, a former army photographer, is hiding out at an isolated storm-watching lodge on the rugged Washington coast, haunted by a half-forgotten past and a mysterious puzzle piece that may hold the key to the traumatic event she’s been trying to forget. But as a fierce storm rolls in, Remi’s focus shifts to survival when Hawk Beckett, a former military pilot with his own painful past, saves her life—not once, but twice. Their chemistry sparks as they navigate the dangers around them, but someone at the lodge is determined to keep Remi’s memories buried, even if it means silencing her forever.

I knew from the title and author that I’d be obsessed, and this wild ride did not disappoint! I loved Hawk and Remi’s connection and how supportive he was in helping her unlock her past. With twists I didn’t see coming and a perfect balance of romance and suspense, this book had me hooked from start to finish. I’m already counting down the days until book two! If you love Christian romantic suspense, this is a must-add to your TBR. Thank you to Revell and the author for the ARC—my opinions are my own!

I am a longtime reader and fan of Elizabeth’s books and this is one of her absolute best! I really liked the mystery of this one and the surprise twists the story took along the way. The setting made the story even more dangerous and was a perfect backdrop for the mystery. I am already anxious to read book 2 as it is about characters we meet in Storm Warning, so I am very excited to see the next adventure Elizabeth has in store for her readers.

Wow, readers are taken for quite the exciting ride in Goddard's first book in her Hidden Bay series! As a deadly meteorological storm threatens and follows through, Hawk and Remi find themselves in a storm of chaos with the enemy closing in. And who is the enemy? As one of the characters said, "Nothing is as it seems." And it seems no-one is as they seem as well. There is lots of edge-of-the-seat action, a sweet romance, mystery upon mystery and the pages almost turned themselves. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Readers who enjoy suspenseful mystery will want to put this at the top of their reading list. I was given a complimentary copy of the book through NetGalley and was not required to write a positive review. The opinions are my own.

Goddard’s Storm Warning is a fast-paced thrill ride from start to finish. Remi is holed up at an off the beaten path lodge by the might Pacific Ocean. She’s there to recover, remember, and to hide. But her u known past catches up with her as she’s attacked and her fellow lodge employees are threatened. She spends a long time not knowing who to trust. And I too, was surprised by the truths revealed in the ending. I am excited to read the next book in the series.

Storm Warning begins a new series from Elizabeth Goddard, set on the rugged and unforgiving Washington Coast. I was immediately drawn in by the action and swept along with the wave of the suspense.

It’s high stakes for Remi to remember a trauma her brain is protecting her from… she has an assassin after her and cannot remember why. Hiding and recovering at an isolated lodge, she realizes someone has tracked her down during a ferocious storm that thrusts her into working with helicopter pilot Hawk.

I enjoyed the pace and premise. I loved the mystery and kept turning pages to find out what was going to happen. The intensity only grows as Remi begins to remember and as she and Hawk grow closer.

If you love romantic suspense, you won’t want to miss this one! The romance is definitely secondary to the suspense in this one- it’s quite the ride!

I received a complementary copy from the author and publisher. I was not asked to leave a positive review and my opinions are my own.

Author Elizabeth Goddard introduces us to a new Pacific Northwest-set series with Storm Warning. This book is a fast read, because once you start, you are completely unable to put it down.
Remi Grant comes to Washington State to manage a secluded lodge, made popular for storm watching off the coast. Receiving a mysterious puzzle piece in the mail, it can only have to do with whatever happened a couple years earlier that she can't remember.
Former military pilot Hawk Beckett is looking for someone, and the tip leads him to Hidden Bay. Unfortunately, danger lurks all around Remi and Hawk, not only from within, but also from the onset of the biggest storm of the decade.
Despite Remi's wariness of Hawk, she can't deny he's saved her a couple times already so they team up to have each others' backs. What happens next is...you'll have to find out. You want to find out. You NEED to find out.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but my opinion is entirely my own.

“Call it whatever you want. But Jo Cattrel had always had a feeling it would come to this.”

Remi Grand is a photojournalist who previously served in the army and now runs a remote camp on the coast of Washington. Remi had forgotten a tragic incident from her past. Glimpses of the event haunt her. Will she ever remember the entire thing? Will they stop searching for her when she does remember?

She couldn't get back to headquarters the way she usually did. Because of the storm she was trapped, the team would not be able to reach her before the storm hit land. Someone reminds Remi of a rope ladder at the end of each tent in case of an emergency. Remi sees the rope and realizes it will be extremely difficult to grab.

Suddenly, a mysterious former military pilot named Hawk Beckett rushes in to help Remi. She appreciates his help and is impressed with his timing. But how did he know where she was? Was he stalking her? Was he trying to help or harm her? Only time will tell. Someone has been pursuing her everywhere she moved. Regardless of how careful she was.

Then someone brings her an unusual puzzle piece, and no one knows who delivered it. She was unnerved but hoped it would help her remember. This romantic suspense story has a few twists near the end I didn't see coming; not everything is what it seems. What a great way to begin a series.

The author's fast-paced stories and intriguing themes consistently keep me captivated. I like meeting her characters, too. If you haven't read this author before, check this one out. It will work great for your book club pick.

This book did not disappoint. I could not put this book down and was up till wee hours trying to finish it because it was just that good. The author hints here and there throughout the book on who the bad guy is to keep you guessing, One minute you think you have it all figured out and then the next you are wondering who it could be. I really liked Remi while she was dealt a rough situation she handled it with the best head on her shoulders and not wanted to get those close to her hurt. Hawk was a man of mystery he try to keep things close to the vest but also trusted those who he thought had his best interest at heart. They both sought answers to things going south in their lives and hoped to each help each other find those answers. This book will keep you going and was well worth the read.

Storm Warning
Elizabeth Goddard
⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were captivated by the first few opening scenes in this book and were excited for this new suspense series by Goddard. The storyline was fast-moving and packed a lot of action into a short period of time. Our only disappointment was found in the somewhat disjointed relationship dialogue and fairly discernible ending.

Elizabeth Goddard holds her readers firmly in the palm of her hand from start to finish in her most recent novel, Storm Warning. The powerful storms rolling into the Pacific Northwest mirror the storms threatening Remi Grant. Yet, while she can see the storm clouds gathering, tumbling over one another, heading her way, helping her to predict their impact and to know how to prepare, her amnesia makes those things impossible for the storms of life headed her way. Helicopter pilot Hawk Beckett has flown through his share of storms while in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment Night Stalkers. Since leaving the Night Stalkers he has been flying through personal storms. Now that he and Remi's lives have intersected, the storms are intensifying for them both.

I highly recommend Storm Warning for fans of romantic suspense. The action, intrigue, and personal lives of the main characters are all quite intense. The physical storms almost seem as if they are a character in the story as Goddard reveals their impact and ferocity. Surprises abound.

I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of Storm Warning from Revell via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.

This was my first book by Elizabeth and it was so good. It was filled with action and suspense that kept me turning the pages. Trying to figure out what Remi’s memories could hold and that could be so dangerous. Who is the true bad guy in the book and why they want Remi. Also, Hawk the hero in every situation even though he doesn’t see it that way.

This was such a good book and a great start to a new series called Hidden Bay. I cannot wait for the rest of this series.
